Very cute spot! We had dinner plans elsewhere so we just stopped in for a drink and snack. I would definitely like to come back again for food. Located in a cute neighborhood, we found street parking easily. The cocktails we had were all great, except for my one friend she didn't see that her drink was made with mescal so she sent it back. No one in the group liked mescal enough to drink it for her... it's horrible... such alcohol abuse ;) Normally I would never let a good cocktail go to waste, but even I don't enjoy mescal enough, had it been any other spirit no problem. Thankfully the staff was gracious and accommodating, took it back no issue and removed from the bill. We sat outside on the patio. I didn't even go inside. Lovely outdoor seating! If I was local I'd come back sooner, but next time I'm visiting I'll be sure to return and try some food beyond the flatbread, which was tasty btw.

Love the decor here

Love West Side Tavern! It's such a gem in Longmont. If you're into cozy, charming bars/restaurants that feel like you're in someone's home then this is the place for you. I've been a few times and this most recent time we popped in for some drinks and apps and sat at the bar. Let me start by saying that the service was excellent. Tony was our bartender and he was amazing. We sat around 4:40pm on a Wednesday and it got pretty busy throughout our time there. Tony handled both a full main bar and service bar like a champ and still remained friendly and attentive whipping up incredible cocktails. We ordered a few drinks and loved them all - Sage Against the Machine (my fav! The scent of sage paired with the blackberry is a marriage I'd return to again and again), Bada Bing (my least favorite, but still very good - especially the touch of rosemary), 3rd Ave Old Fashioned (a really great take on an Old Fashioned), Smokin' Gun (I would order this any time. It was delicious and loved that it's smoked table-side for that perfect campfire scent. Gin is my spirit of choice and I love an old fashioned so this was the perfect combo). Drinks get a 10/10 ranking and their whiskey selection alone is super impressive. We spent a large part of our time there looking at the countless bottles that adorn the walls and liquor case. We've also ordered a little bit of food, but not enough to give it a solid ranking. This time around we got the frites and buffalo cauliflower. Great happy hour prices and the apps are tasty and a good portion. This has quickly become one of our favorite spots to visit in Longmont. It has a ton of character and just good quality cocktails at a reasonable price.

What's left of our bourbon torte

We were in town for just dinner and randomly stumbled across this spot. It was super busy which was expected for a Friday night and didn't have a reservation but got sat at the "Tiki Bar" outside in under two minutes. The temperature was perfect outside but they even had heaters in case we got too cold! We had the Smash Hit cocktail, burrata appetizer, Mixed Grill (Lamb, Beef, Sausage), and the Bourbon Torte (I think that's how you spell it). Everything was delicious, I think this was the best dessert I've ever had. Not being dramatic. Although it was busy, the staff was always so kind and attentive. It was a great, friendly, fast paced environment. The owner (I think) even came to check on us a few times and give us recommendations on what to order. Such a great experience at this local restaurant, highly recommend! I also love the Halloween decorations!

We made a reservation a couple hours before our arrival and it worked out great. Even though it wasn't super busy, we had a table waiting for us on the patio when we arrived. Our server was excellent. I think her name was Lucy. She did a great job explaining the menu and daily specials. She gave some solid recommendations and made sure we had what we needed throughout the meal. Our group started with the Rhode Island Calamari. Very good - no complaints. For entrees, our group ordered the Fish N Chips, Tuscan Chicken, Steak Frites, Mahi Fish Tacos, and the daily special which was a Surf & Turf. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The mashed potatoes which comes with some of the entrees is seriously so good - some of the best restaurant mashed potatoes I've ever had. The fish with the Fish N Chips was excellent. Both parties who got the Tuscan Chicken raved about how good their dish was. The fries were very tasty as well. Honestly everything was good. The only criticism was the Steak which came on the Surf & Turf was a tad over-cooked than requested. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate Cake and the Crème Brûlée. Again, delicious. I would 1000% come back if I lived closer. Yes it's a bit pricier than your typical chain options, but I felt the quality of food and service was worth it.

My family and I ate dinner at The Roost while visiting the area for a few days. Since we were…read moretraveling from out of state we made a reservation ahead of time - although on a Wednesday evening at 5pm, it wasn't super critical, as the restaurant never got completely full. There are multiple seating options - inside, patio, or rooftop. We opted for the rooftop and the vibes were excellent. The weather was gorgeous and the rooftop patio is nicely decorated with live plants and a big bar running the length of the patio. Our server was excellent. I think his name was Danny. One of our party has an alcohol intolerance, so needs to avoid foods cooked with alcohol. Danny was super helpful in guiding our menu options with this information. He confirmed multiple dishes with the chef before we ordered. For food, we started with the Truffle Parm Fries, Fried Brussels Sprouts, and the Bangin' Cauliflower. All were delicious. The cauliflower was extremely good, I can see why so many reviews mention it. For entrees, our group ordered the Short Rib Tacos, Jumbo Crab Cakes, Chilean Salmon, and the Avocado Salad with Seared Ahi. No complaints around the table. The meat in the Short Rib tacos is super tasty. Portions were good sized, however the Crab Cake dish is definitely smaller than the others. Good option if you aren't super hungry. The Chilean Salmon was cooked perfectly. We didn't really have any complaints at all. Solid dining experience. Would definitely return if I'm ever back in the Longmont area.

The main improvement The Roost could make would be letting the GM, J. Suniga return to Burger King,…read moreor whatever fast food franchise from which they hired him. The next improvement would be training employees that when a customer makes a request to pay the bill, the answer is "Yes, I will take care of that." Instead I received, a snippy "Notify your server." My response, "No, I'm the customer, you're employed here. I just agreed to pay a ridiculous sum for a cocktail and an appetizer, so YOU find whoever needs to receive my payment!" Her feelings were hurt, so she played the "You-don't-need-to-speak-to-me-that-way" card. Eventually she recovered from the trauma and found an Official Roost Bartender to give me the bill. Mr. Suniga explained that he did not pay her to receive payments. As a solution, her "manager" advised I avoid The Roost in the future. Apparently, customers who want to pay are not welcome? Good advice for me and any other prospective customers!
