West Side Tavern is our neighborhood joint, but it would be worth the drive if you don't live nearby. In the dozen or so times we've been over the past 3 years (about the only place we felt truly safe during the pandemic), whether just the two of us for a romantic evening or with a few friends, we have never been disappointed. Fabulous drinks, outstanding steak frites, to-die-for tomato soup and grilled cheese, best Caesar in the area, always good veg and fish options ... And the staff! Highly professional but always friendly and sensitive. Outstanding patio with heaters and an open wood fire make even cold nights comfortable. Make reservations! Cute small little place that has been here forever & I finally got the chance to go for a date night. I had the steak Frites and bf had the shrimp & grits. Steak was filet, decent...ask for more sauce because it was delish! Frites basically a fancy French fry, they were good too! BF's shrimp & grits were amazing! Ambiance great, drinks great, service was a little slow but we were there to take our time & enjoy. They kinda kicked us out when we were done stating they had another reservation coming in, a little bit of a turn off but I understand, we had to finish our drinks in a hurry & leave. I understand these are somewhat desperate times & they needed to seat another party but to be fair there was someone there alone at a 2 top that was there before us & was still there after us. Nice small spot. I may start coming more frequently for a quick drink once in while. Only downside was the mildly annoying bartender kid. My fear is that it'll become too busy with all of the people starting to clog-up our region and there won't be a spot to sit at the bar. Great food. Service was awful. Took 2.5 hours to eat. My party and I shared a few appetizers and entrees and we had to ask for them to bring us plates to eat on, which never came. We asked for water three times and it didn't come until she brought the check. It took over 30 min for her to even come and take our order after we moved to a tent. Great atmosphere. Small intimate pub. We came in on a Sunday, sat at the bar. Not really feeling like a brunch menu we started to leave. DH told the bartender we'd come back when we could try the pork sandwich & he quickly said we can get you anything on the lunch menu that doesn't come off the grill! This place is so cute! Great outdoor seating, nice small interior space. Their cocktails looked delish, but I had a great Rosè. It's located in this great neighborhood. We got the sweet potatoe fries that came with this amazing aoli, they were the best I ever had! Thick cut and topped with Gorgonzola. I'm vegetarian so I chose the Eggplant part on a bed of orzo, it was really good. My husband got the Scallop special and loved it as well. My son got the clams and muscles, also delish. Nice that this place is back open. I went to this bar some years ago when it first opened after about a month of opening. I've always enjoyed going there. Last night I treated myself to dinner outside and the arrangement of the tables and chairs makes you feel safe and comfortable. Sometimes dining alone you can get ignored. Not at the Westside. Service was excellent and the chicken Florentine was out of this world. Excellent cocktails as well. Tom, my server was attentive and humorous. Had a delicious early/lite dinner this evening. Their menu offers a wide range of options from large entries to sandwiches and a nice selection of appetizers. My wife and I had their grilled cheese sandwich (with tomato soup) and split an order of the grilled cauliflower. What a wonderful evening. Out waiter was great and when we ordered a beer to split he brought it in two separate glasses - attention to detail. The outdoor seating is such a delight. The tables are situated with a nice screen between them making for a very private dinner. Tonight was the first cool evening and they were bringing out the heaters. The indoor seating is a little more crowded and provides a different atmosphere than the outdoor seating. We stumbled across West Side Tavern earlier this evening in Longmont, the google reviews looking interesting.. We were promptly seated at the Tiki Bar and were promptly greeted by the staff. We had the Brussels sprouts appetizer and steak frites and the salmon entree; both were very good, fresh, and well presented. Fantastic food! Best in Longmont for foodies. Not big plates but order a few to share and you will have enough. Also, the mixed drinks are unbelievable - try the gin and tonic! I am usually not a big fan of G&Ts but the way they make them will have you wanting more than one (or two!!). Not a big place, but the terrace is cozy and so is the inside seating. We finally went to try this place out, since we're in the neighborhood. We went for drinks and dessert. I ended up ordering the flatbread pizza as well. It was a flatbread, not a pizza, and not very good, but it does say flatbread on the menu in small print. So that's on me. We ordered 4 different drinks between the two of us, and they were all great. Table staff was responsive for us, so maybe they've fixed issues I see in other reviews. We finished up with the churro and I had to double check the menu because it seemed like the churro had some sort of creme filling. Nope, it was just completely uncooked inside. I gave them a chance to correct it, but they brought it back to the table saying it looked fine to them. We left the rest of it on the plate, unedible. They asked us to pay for half of it. I can't tell if they don't know how to cook churros or just don't care or are incompetent. If we ever go back, it'll be drinks only, but I'm not a fan. read more

So disappointed. We have frequented and enjoyed this restaurant since moving to Longmont. Even raved about how wonderful our experience was post COVID eating brunch outside on Father's Day. Tonight, however, was a very different experience as we were sat inside. We witnessed a bartender without a mask on the entire time we dined. Another random person chatting with bartender standing at bar entire time no mask. Waiters and waitresses, alike, came inside to grab food to run outside and immediately removed masks. We didn't witness anyone in the kitchen with masks on, either. Service was slow, unapologetically. And, food was sub par. Such a disappointment. read more

Spaced out putting in our appetizer order entirely. His main job -take orders and serve them in a timely manner-he was unable to do. Never brought us more requested water. West Side is one of our favorite spots in town! It is becoming right near impossible to score a table, lately! It is tiny, cozy. They have definitely has mastered that intangible neighborhood vibe. Wes, the visionary owner, is wonderful, keeping his finger on the pulse of his community. Now-- the food! So well done! I would hate to include a recommendation, as we've enjoyed every choice! They also do a stellar brunch! Just a scrumpious way to start a weekend day! Great local hole in the wall whiskey bar with excellent high end type dishes. Met the owner a few times, the guy seems really cool and is knowledgeable about the types of liquors available. Has old silent films playing on the tv giving it a speak easy type feel as well. read more
