We are from San Diego and eat at a lot of local (high priced) gastropubs, farm to table, and "5 star" restaurants but this place is better than most of them! So impressed! Love the lamb ribs with the chimchurri sauce, the pouti fries and the beer list!! The peach sangria was delicious as well. Great service too. read more

Loved this place. Lots of good craft beer and good food. The lamb ribs were amazing. This was our second choice but we were glad we didn't go to our 1st pick. Friendly staff, but uninspired food. I had the Thai salad with some grilled green pineapple in it that was flavorless (Thai!?) and had some skanky over salted cabbage with some tired greens and a fatty flavorless dressing. Also had pork tenderloin that had none of the claimed lemongrass and some ok but undercooked potatoes. Nice sounding menu, but a poor execution. read more

Under new ownership! The amount of time, money and talent spent on this bar/restaurant is simply spectacular. Unique menu prepared by an amazing chef with most all fixings prepared by hand and not out of a can/freezer. Jalapeño popper spring rolls are to die for! Homemade pickles large servings and family friendly! It's also a great place to grab a drink and hangout. Two brand new pool tables, outdoor area and lounge. Walk straight thru to the dining area where we enjoyed sitting outside under a covered area with a great breeze. food was very good and the Reuben proved to be our table's favorite along with the bread pudding/ice cream combo. I can't speak for the food. Never got any. You enter into a bar area. I went up to the bartender to find out if we were in the right spot for the restaurant. He said we could sit in the back or on the deck or patio. We said we would sit on the deck and he said he would send a server out with a menu. 20 minutes later we still didn't have a menu and a server had not been out. I was about to go in and tell them we had been forgotten when I realized that the cigarette smell I kept smelling was a bucket on the table that had been used as an ashtray and I was done. Pretty sure the smoking law in Idaho is no smoking in public areas including restaurants and bars. read more

Awesome bar with great food! There is a really nice loop drive from Jackson to Alpine to Victor to Jackson. This is a great place to stop on the home stretch. Lots of veggie options and the beer is clearly chosen by guys who have a passion for what they do. read more

Not sure what happened to this place--- so much potential when it reopened, and it had a great creative menu when it opened too. The whole place (esp the front bar area) seems very dirty, and no management or owners ever seem to be present. It shows in the unorganized and inexperienced waitstaff and bartenders- maybe some comprehensive service-training could be done to help the front of house staff be more organized and confident in their duties. Great deck for warm weather drinks-- but no current reason to visit in winter. read more

This place was a go to for me for the last several years. I loved many different items on the menu. Hubs loved all the beer on tap. Went in today to a whole new menu. I'm leaving 2 stars, because the bar itself is still the best tap-house around. Service is OK. I'm removing the 3 other stars because the food.. is not acceptable to me any more. They were generally bland or tasteless, warm at best, and the overall quality that used to be there is no more. I don't know what happened here, but we do not eat here ever any more. read more

Very impressed. Superb menu, knowledgeable waitstaff, local ambiance and the food was more than described.

I am convinced this is the best food for at least a three hundred mile radius. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food is intensely flavorful and creative and delicious and there are so many incredible options to choose from. Do yourself a favor and make this your local go to spot, or just stop in next time you are within a hundred miles. This place is worth making a lengthy detour. Enjoy! read more

BEWARE- YOU CAN ONLY DRINK HERE IF YOU HAVE AMERICAN ID- FOREIGNERS NOT WELCOME! ---I rarely write reviews but my experience here really angered me and I feel the need to let others know about the bigoted practices this place employs. My husband and his friend went out for drinks here on the friend's birthday. We were visiting from California and were staying in Victor on our way to Yellowstone. During the night, 4 Mexican men showed up at the bar, showed VALID ID- My husband used to work at a bank and later noted that the ID they presented is valid for check cashing- and they were told that they needed VALID US IDENTIFICATION to purchase a beer. Really? A bar has stricter ID requirements than a bank? When my husband offered to buy the beers, the bartender saw that he was buying it for the Mexican men and then refused to give my husband the beers. This is when my husband and his friend decided to leave and no longer support the establishment. The funny thing is that later that night, a couple of WHITE customers who were underage weren't even carded at another bar! Gotta say I love living in California where diversity is accepted and BS like this doesn't happen as much. Thanks for the great impression of Idaho! Reading all of these reviews, and I have to agree with the bar staff needing attention. Again, food was good, nothing too amazing. Another thing that bothered me was I tried to find a menu online to try and plan ahead, but could not find one anywhere. And the drinks, yikes, the drinks. Don't want to sound like a broken record but 0/10 for bar staff. The girl with purple hair was making them. I suggest more training! Other than that, pretty laid back and chill place to grab a bite before enjoying Idaho! read more

We have visited Slackwater resturaunt many times in Ogden Utah, the owners also own West Side Yards in Victor Idaho. Both locations have great food, service, beer choices and servers who know the menu and the beer. Great decor and ambiance make this a must stop. read more

Just had fantastic birthday dinner. The pork tenderloin was outstanding and my husbands hamburger was excellent. Was football night so the bar and patio were very busy, but the dining room was peaceful. Don't judge it by its casual bar appearance, the food and service is excellent. read more

We just hung out for a while over drinks and a plate of fries. But a great place to chill and the atmosphere is fun. People are friendly.

The best place to eat in eastern Idaho! A true gem! Everything is made fresh in house, including the tortilla chips, tortillas, and hand cut fries. Nachos are awesome! The fries are amazing! Ask to try the different sauces for the fries (garlic aioli and roasted red pepper aioli). Wings are never frozen - Not breaded and not super slathered in sauce. If you like them slathered in sauce, ask them and they will accommodate you. I really like their tuna melt. Served open faced. Not a fan of their burger. Go to Brakeman if you want a good burger. Not a huge fan of their burritos either. The chili verde burrito needs more of a green sauce flavor in my opinion. And the chicken pot pie burrito would be SO much better if they put chunks of crust inside the burrito instead of rice. Huge portions though and overall very good food. Desserts are solid. Chocolate chip cookie bar thing is very good. The bread pudding was surprisingly good too. So glad they don't throw raisins in it. Could be better if they put some chocolate chips in the bread pudding, but I'm a chocolate guy. I eat here 2-3 times a week and want to see this place thrive in Victor.
