They always take longer to pick up at O'Hare than other services, but we mostly tolerate it for the clean car and $85 trip fee. Today they took OVER 35-minutes after their text saying it would take 15-minutes. I called them at 25-minutes and the dispatcher made up some story about a back-up for a ticket booth. I must have seen 50-people walk out of the baggage claim and get into their limo. No one else had limos 35-min after they called. The driver shows up and repeats the same nonsense. It's offensive! Don't lie to me. You over booked and couldn't get back to the airport. Apologize and discount the ride. Like I said, they always take longer. Now, I'm done. Too many other options out there, and I won't tolerate being lied to. read more

Would not recommend. Upon arrival, I had to wait 15 minutes outside for my driver. in 93 degree summer heat. In a Chicago winter, that would be brutal. If they have your flight information, I don't understand why they can't pick you up in a more timely manner. They also don't offer a "track my driver" function, so you have no choice but to wait outside. Driver was very aggressive, making for a very jerky, whiplashy ride. I woke up this morning with a sore neck. After a long day of flying, this was the last thing I needed. Also driver kept GoogleMaps navigation prompts playing at top volume throughout the ride. I booked them via email and they were happy to accommodate my specific request for a stretch (you know, for the kids). The driver showed up early, was polite and helpful, and got us to O'Hare quickly and safely. I've used other car services in the past but this one had the most well-kept vehicle I've been in; squeaky-clean inside and out! Same goes for our driver, dressed in a suit and playing the part. I have been using exclusively for 10+ years. This week I had (3) fails on separate rides & will find new service or Uber Black. Pick up at Midway told 30 minute wait driver had car problems (took uber instead) Pick up to airport the driver was 10 minute late - sloppy & car was disgusting. Pick up at Midway told 20 minute wait driver had car problems (took uber instead) THREE strikes in one week. I can understand a one off but this has become a pattern. I have used west suburban for over three years and have been overall pleased with them. They have always arrived at my home or work on time or early to get me to the airport. Their drivers have been professional. But two of my last three returns from the airport have been delayed longer than expected, suggesting to me that they may not always be at the airport or may have been managing multiple reservations. I don't know that; I am speculating. In my last call to the dispatcher, I found the person unprofessional in tone. The dispatcher said "if you are unhappy, you can find alternative transportation" home, which I elected to do. I texted the company that I was doing that. A different employee called me upset that I had left, claimed that the dispatcher hadn't said what was said, and stated that they would charge me for the ride anyway. I received a text a little later and the person apologized and said that they would not charge me. I texted back and apologized for being upset and asked that they charge me so that the driver would be paid. I give them four stars because I've overall been really happy with them and want to keep using tMost of the time they have been great and reliable. It's been two years since my review. I've had nothing but positive experiences with the company. I wanted to change my review from 3 stars to 5 stars as a reflection of their consistently good service. read more

As a business traveler who needs to get to and from the airport on a regular basis- on those longer trips when I opt not to drive and to take a car service, West Suburban Limo fits the bill nicely. Oh sure- I used to use a competitive service located out in Naperville, but after several missed pick ups, long waits and drivers who didn't know the area, I switched to West Suburban and never looked back. Most, if not all, of their drivers are independent contractors who own their own cars and take pride in the service that they offer. The cars are clean, modern and the drivers are courteous, speak English and don't make me feel like I am on the Indy 500 as we go down the tollway. The other thing I like? They save my profile information so I don't have to tell them every time not to send a "stretch limo" (so uncomfortable and impossible to provide direction to the driver in). A Town Car will do just fine and can also better navigate the old bridges and brick roads nearby where I live. Car service isn't fancy- just a practical necessity if you travel. Dear West Suburban - when I made a reservation with Donna yesterday afternoon, we went over everything twice since I wanted to be 100% sure she had all the details correctly. I guess I should've gone over them THREE times since the car never showed up to pick up my passengers this afternoon. I used WSL for my wedding on 08/29/09. I had heard nothing but good things from this company and decided to go with them.. The overall service was fantasic! Andy came to the North Aurora house 15 minutes before schedule and was very courteous from the start.. I agree with the other person that said it didn't feel like you were on the Indy 500. We had plenty of time to spare to get to a south side Chicago church and our driver took his time and we joked about which way to take.. (I'm a seasoned Chicago driver as well, and I could think of about 10 different ways to get to any location) Very courteous in opening my car door, and even picked up my train so it wouldn't hit the floor! Mass has ended, go in peace... and my new husband and I walk out of the church and find that it was decorated with my wedding color of pink and a "JUST MARRIED" sign on the back! The champagne was ice cold and Andy was standing here with 2 glasses! We get in and we actually made a last minute change in photo location and Andy didn't seem bothered.. "anywhere you want to go..it's all good with me!" and when I made him go around a street, he did the coolest and smallest 3-point turn (it did in fact take 3 turns) in a stretch limo I''ve seen. And the privacy window came up.. Again.. no hurry to get to our reception hall, which was 28 miles away, and even had time to check into our hotel.. my newlywed husband and I enjoyed almost all the champagne and really enjoyed our ride... And so our time with Andy ended... thank you Andy, and thank you WSL.. we will be going on our honeymoon really soon, and we'll be contracting a Town Car soon! read more

I am surprised to see a few negatives here. Have been using West Suburban exclusively for 9 years. I use them on average 10-14x per year. To both Midway and O'Hare. They have NEVER been late (usually they are early). I have never had a dirty car or poor driver. I have had to wait at the airport, but usually not any longer than other people in the limo zone. And several times I have arrived home in a stretch limo when a regular car wasn't available. Always amusing to my neighbors. I have had a variety of drivers, rarely the same one twice. My only wish is that they kept track of how often I use them, some sort of loyalty program would be nice. read more

I have used WSL twice. They always show up on time. I like that, because I am anal about time. I tell you 6:00, I expect 6:00, NOT 6:05. So far right on time. My only complaint is that the back of the stretch limo that we need to load all 5 of us into, is COLD. It is winter in Chicago people, heat the back. Complaints of this were met with grunts. If you don't want to heat the limo, then please provide blankets or something. I almost lost a toe to frost bite. My kids were miserable. We are using them again shortly. I will update if we get a warm limo. I did call request the warm limo, I didn't realize that it was heat optional. So, if you use them and need a stretch, request the heated one. But, they are on time, and the drivers seem to actually be able to drive. I agree about it not being the Indy 500, which is great. Fix the heat thing and I would give 5 stars. Update... Our ride home was fantastic. I am adding a star. They made super sure the limo was heated. It was actually a bit hot, but I wasn't complaining. Better to sweat than to freeze. The driver was personable and everything went really smoothly. We will use them again, if they keep things toasty in the back, perhaps the 5 stars I promised! :) read more

Rude customer service. I just had a conversation to book a limo for a party. Just requesting rates and the reservation person this Tuesday at 8:20 to me to hold on she wasn't finish talking. And all I was trying to do was have a limo pick up my friends so they could surprise their mother on her last day at work and take her out to dinner. And this rude person told me that the route didn't make sense because the driver would be back tracking. I don't care what way he has to go if we are paying him. All I wanted was a quote . My daughter and I were attending a Trisomy 18 medical conference in the Chicago area and we were lucky to have Nick Karash #37 for our driver. His car was clean and classy and he was a delightful gentleman. I am never comfortable riding with someone I don't know, but Nick made us feel very safe. I requested him for our return trip to Midway and was happy to see his smiling face. A lot of people are uncomfortable around those with special needs like my daughter, but Nick treated her with kindness and respect. We were exhausted from the 5 day conference but Nick made the ride to the airport fun. He also had walked us and our luggage to the desk at the hotel and took us to the curb side check in to make sure everything was going to be alright.
