I was very happy with my booking and service through Suburban Rides. I was comparing responses and prices among a few town car companies and in the end went with SR due to their pricing & service exemplified. On the morning of my very early pick-up, I had scheduled 5am but it ended up being about 5:15 am as the driver had issues finding my office. I ended up walking to the main street to help him in finding me. He played classical music on the way there which in turn made me feel classy. He also chatted quite a bit which I can appreciate most of the time but for whatever reason that morning, I just wanted to kind of zone out in my solitude. Either way, I was pleased for the most part and would book Suburban Rides again for an airport trip. read more

I love companies that make things easy and that do what they say they are going to do. Each time that I have had to go to the airport or come home, I have been able to book transportation online - often with short notice because I am a last minute travel nightmare. They quickly have responded, gave me very clear instructions on what to do and have been afffordable. They have generally cost me about $10-15 more than an Uber and with 100% better service. Their drivers are all very friendly, know where they are going and have nice cars. You can't go wrong. read more

Sorry to rain on everyone's parade but there is such a thing as micromanaging and how about "the customer is always right" (well not always!) When I called to schedule a pickup at ORD (Chicago O'Hare) for myself and an international passenger (my partner) arriving at about the same time as me, the gentleman was very interested in our flights and arrival times. I stated that I would like a 3 p.m. pickup. He insisted on having the details so they were provided. He was aware that my flight from within the US would be problematic since the evening before there were severe winter storms. I mentioned that I would contact him should my flight be significantly delayed or cancelled. I assured him that my partner would take the 3 p.m. departure unless I were to be delayed but still able to arrive the same day at which point I would contact him to make other arrangements. The cab driver (according to the person I spoke with on the phone) arrived at ORD around noon and consistently pestered my partner with phone calls about his arrival and my delay. As it turned out my plane was delayed but arrived at 2 p.m. with plenty of time to get the luggage and find the cab. Unfortunately, the cab driver took another fare while the gentleman on the phone insisted, over and over again, that they did the best they could. Really?! My partner and I were ready to depart ORD at 3 p.m.! My partner had tried to explain that to the cab driver and someone else at dispatch. The company knew neither of us would be landing until after 12:30 p.m. at the earliest and one of the party would have to go through customs. Why would you send a cab at NOON?!! They also had my flight information which when checked would have indicated my updated arrival time. Sheesh! read more

FANTASTIC! Called here on a Friday night for a 6am ride to O'Hare the next morning. Completed our request online, they called to Confirm, and our driver was outside waiting 10 minutes early. Friendly guy, so helpful with the bags, comfy ride. He gave us his card and told us to get in touch and he could be available for us. The night before flying back to Chicago, we gave him a call, and there he was, ready for us when we returned. Already had our address plugged back into his GPS and everything. And a nice touch, he had water bottles for us as well. The rates they charge are exactly what you find on the website. No tricky business, flat rate. I couldn't be happier with the service we received. This is our go-to now for airport livery. I even asked for extra cards to give to friends. Like I said, FANTASTIC! read more

Suburban Rides was our airport transportation for a recent family vacation. I couldn't be happier with the service! Everything was booked online - super convenient and very prompt responses. It was no frills - we needed to take a mini van to the airport on account of our party size (four people). Our driver was prompt, friendly, and extremely professional. My little guy was sick with a gross runny nose, and our driver voluntarily wiped his nose for him!!!! It was awesome - helping out like he's part of the fam. We had a family member offer to give us a ride home from our trip - which meant we didn't need the ride home from SR. I was nervous about canceling the night before, anticipating that we'd have a penalty fee since it was just about 24 hours of notice. We called and left a message with them at about 11 PM CST - they called back within 10 minutes confirming the cancellation with no penalty fee! I think that's pretty damn classy. The first time i was introduced to Suburban rides, I had to arrange my guests transportation to the airport and they raved about it. They are price really reasonably and are very comparable to the prices for a taxi service. I used it for my own travels from my home to Midway on 12/21/2013 and returning from Midway 01/04/2013. Both Drivers were great. They were on time (or early) and very attentive. I would rather use this service than any other car service or taxi service. I was slightly skeptical at first because this is a smaller operation than I'm used to dealing with in regards to car service. Can't say enough good words for these folks. Booked an early morning (3:30 AM) cab for a friend of mine from Schaumburg to Midway Airport. I was a little worried since I heard from many friends that they have had cab and shuttle services cancelling the bookings, unable to provide ride from suburbs to Midway.... at last moments, especially at timing like this. But these guys surprised me. I paid over the phone by giving my credit card details. But somehow, it was not penned down right and they could not charge my card, which the accounts team realized later. Despite, they stood by their commitment and sent a shuttle for my friend. They didn't even get in touch with me for that the next day, which happened to be the Christmas...decided not to bother me with this during Holiday. Finally they got in touch with me 2 days later, and yet again, I was in middle of a long drive from Vegas to San Francisco. They waited another day for me to call them back and finally get paid for the services they provided 3 days back. Took me by surprise. What business do that now. Can't recommend them enough. I used this company 4-5 years ago and it was very much a white glove service. The cars were recent models, immaculate and the drivers always had a bottle of water awaiting you. This time the cars were clean and ok but no different than Uber or Lyft. The driver was on time for my pickup to and from the airport. What made no sense is neither driver used Ways or any GPS program to determine the fastest, shortest ride. In this day and age I found this inexplicable. The drive to Midway was nail biting. The driver chose to take the 290 to Cicero and we were in bumper to bumper non-moving traffic. I was so anxious and frantic once we made it to the airport I was exhausted. The only way I will use them in the future is if I have plenty of leisure time to get where I'm going or if they assure me the driver will be using a GPS system. read more

Excellent service. We booked online for rides to and from Midway Airport. Fernando was very prompt with all of my questions. We needed a vehicle big enough to carry 5 people on the way to Midway. Neil was our driver and he was prompt and courteous, even sent a text message letting me know he was outside with a very clean black Minivan. On the way back from Midway, it was just me and my wife and Delray (I may have messed up his name, my bad) was our driver. Again, courteous and professional with a nice Lincoln Town Car. I had a bad feeling about this company from the beginning. Crossed my mind that this was a fraudulent company, especially after my bank called me and said it seemed like a fraudulent transaction from NY. The company required tip before event which also seemed weird because we didn't know how service would be. I gave tip it anyway because we were desperate for ride for our Wedding. Day of wedding we got a call saying our party bus did not have AC and a new bus would pick us up. Bus was late picking us up from church which made us run late to our wedding reception. We also ordered a party bus and got a shuttle bus. Not able to dance on the bus or play our own music. :/ . Makes sense why they wanted tip ahead of service. Bad experience but at least it wasn't fraud. Would say beware. read more

Utilized this service on 10/25 at 1PM -Driver was 15 minutes late but I can't complain as I was not in a rush to get anywhere. -Car was way older but well maintained and clean. -Driver was apologetic and helped with my luggage and very friendly. FYI: They do not provide rides in the city or from the city to suburbs as I was going to book them through out my stay in chicago but they only handled rides in the suburbs. Final Review: I would use this service again when I am not in a rush or anything. I am not sure I would use it if i am trying to catch a flight, maybe if i was getting off a flight. Update 5/30/18 I was texting with Suburban Rides dispatcher during the drive home. I could hear Duffy talking to the dispatcher when she was checking to see if he was okay. He asked her what the charge would be for the ride and she told him $75. Good customer service would have taken this opportunity to waive the $75 charge. While I understand the Black Car is contracted by Suburban, they still represent your image as a company. When I initially spoke with Duffy in my driveway at 12:45 AM on January 1st, he was defensive about his driving stating that he has "never missed a shift". As a single mom, my reaction was to get my children in the house and deal with the confrontation later. As I mentioned below, I did tip Duffy as it was after midnight on New Years, we had made him wait due to our plane being delayed and truthfully, I didn't want him to question why I didn't tip - I just wanted him to go. Regardless of if Duffy is having a problem with understanding the repayment, he promised over a month ago to send the repayment, which has not been received. Original post 1/17/18 Our flight was delayed coming home from New Years Eve. We were so excited to come out to a warm stretch limo and welcomed in 2018 while driving home from the airport. Then we noticed the limo was slowly swerving between lanes on the highway. Our driver was dozing off behind the wheel! Okay - I get it, our flight was late and it was after midnight but seriously? I yelled from the back of the limo to make him more alert. He apologized and started to move his arms around, shake his head and try to wake up. The kids and I buckled in and I started texting dispatch to let them know what was happening. As we got close to one of our possible exits, I loudly mentioned to our driver that he could take that exit as a shortcut. He blew right past it and continued. Thankfully, the GPS took him to the next exit. At the top of the exit ramp, the light was red and our driver literally fell ASLEEP. When the light turned green, horns started honking and I yelled to wake him up. My kids and I were terrified. From that point on, I talked to him through every turn. My daughter took over texting dispatch about the situation. We were exhausted from an extended day of travel and just wanted to get home safely. Once we safely made it home, I asked the driver if he was okay to drive home and he was at first argumentative. He stated that he had not missed a night in 20 years and could drive just fine. I decided it was better to fight the charge later and told him we were concerned for his safety and others on the road. I hoped by texting dispatch during our drive that they would tell him to waive the charge but they processed it. Our driver did text me at 1:14 a.m. when he arrived home to let me know he had made it safely. He apologized for making the kids and I uncomfortable. read more

So I was looking for a non-traditional taxi service, after American Blue seems to have fizzled out and ran across Suburban Rides. I have to admit I'm a bit of a car snob and I'm a hard grader as well. But how pleasantly surprised I was to get Carlos as my driver. This dude was so professional and courteous. Is the music ok? There's water in the back, but if you'd like something else, I'd be more than happy to stop and get it for you. He drove in the far right lane at 60 mph or less; wasn't weaving in and out of traffic. If it wasn't for the fact that my house is a little hard to find, I probably would have gone to sleep. NOT just another ride! I have used this service many times and have never had a bad experience. Neil is the most helpful person when it comes to scheduling last minute rides. I travel a couple of times a month and sometimes my trips are last minute, and have never had trouble getting picked up last minute...I mean, I called last night for my 6:55am flight this morning without a problem. They send a text to let you know when they've arrived, and when being picked up from the airport, you'll have a text from the driver when you land, giving you instructions on when to text or call for your pick up, and they'll come from the waiting area to get you. This service is much better than taking a taxi. I would always rather take Suburban Rides than a taxi anytime. Professional, prompt, courteous. read more

April 17, 2018 was my first time using this service. I've always driven myself to the airport. Marie booked my ride to and from the airport. She answered all my questions. The night before I left, my driver "Ebony" texted to verify what time she would be picking me up. She was on time, helped me with my luggage and we had a very pleasant and safe trip to the airport. I felt very safe and comfortable with "Ebony". It was such a nice experience that I made a request for her to pick me up from the airport on my return. My return ride home was perfect. I used Suburban Rides this week for the first time. I set this up for my elderly mother to be picked up at O'Hare and driven out to Glen Ellyn. She is in a wheelchair and was very nervous about traveling on her own and finding the driver etc. From the start of this process Fernando was very accommodating and friendly. The driver usually sends a text message when they arrive but I let Fernando know that there was no way my 76 yr old Mother would be able to retrieve that from her cell phone so he put notes in her record to call her instead. This was perfect and all went as planned. My Mother commented on how fancy she felt riding in a black Lincoln and how clean the car was. She also LOVED her driver Dion. She said he was friendly, personable and talked to her all about the area. He even took her down a few streets in Glen Ellyn to show her how much the area had changed since she grew up there. She couldn't say enough nice things about him! So thank you thank you for easing this daughters mind about her Mothers experience. You took great care of her just as you promised. I've tried twice to use this service. First time the driver was late because he couldn't find our house. The second time, the driver texted to say he was 10 mins late, but he was 45 mins away. I had to make alternate plans so I didn't miss my flight. I do not recommend this service and will not use them again. read more

My plane landed at Ohare early and they were waiting, which was great. They confirmed by text several times. All went well and I would use them again. They charged what they quoted. The only thing is they did estimate with no traffic 20-25 minutes from Ohare to Midway and it took longer without traffic. read more

We always receive a confirmation text from our driver to alert us where to meet him for pick up from the airport, concerts etc. Fernando is fantastic to work with. I was looking for a ride more pleasant than a cab, without paying limo prices, and this is it! Book your trip online or phone (I used the phone this time), they confirm via email, they called me the night before to confirm, are there 15 min early and let you know via text, the car and driver we're clean and pleasant. The ride was smooth. I cabs I get motion sickness, not with Neil, my driver today. Credit card payments are done via square. And, the driver thanked me via text after he dropped me off. read more
