30 minute chair massage on Mar 28, 2025. Issues with left shoulder/scapula area from weight lifting. Very limited range of motion------very limited !! In the past the fix was to let it rest for a few weeks so this time I went with the massage. They really know their stuff---technique, anatomy, muscles involved, etc. I was surprised at the precision, I was expecting a warm towel and just some general kneading in the area. Left with full range of motion restored, as well as some recommendations for certain stretches, etc. Was in the gym today in fact, 2 days after massage. No issues with shoulder/scapula at all. My first massage visit in a year. I was a bit nervous to venture out for this because of Covid. But not for the reasons most people are worried about. I get sick (seriously sick) from chemical compounds found in disinfectants and synthetic fragrances. It has always been a risk for me to go out into the world because of this, but now these chemicals are off the charts even just at the grocery store. I called ahead and let them know of my sensitivities. They were very accommodating. I was given a room that I think is reserved for chemically sensitive people - away from the rest of the rooms. They use some kind of UV light to sanitize rather than commercial products, and they even turned off the HVAC system so no air from other areas of the building would come in. The therapist (Melanie) does not wear any fragranced products. And she was excellent at focusing on my particular issues. A gifted massage therapist. She was very concerned about the level of pain I was experiencing and went above and beyond in her effort to rectify the situation. She wanted to have me come in as soon as I felt ready to see her personally for a complimentary 90 minute session. She even offered to come to my home if I didn't feel well enough to drive. I really appreciated her eagerness to get me feeling comfortable again! I just finished my 90 minute session with Leah and it was both comprehensive and relaxing. She checked in with me throughout to make sure that the pressure was alright and worked on problem areas with care. Leigh of Westborough Massage focuses in on 2-3 areas where I am having tension- for me, that's upper back area, neck, temples, and the foot which had a stress fracture 9 years ago. She makes every minute count and her rooms are darkened for better relaxation. The atmosphere is sanctimonious there with peaceful music or ocean sounds, and cozy heated massage beds. Massage rooms are decorated simply, with understated art. My first time with Leigh was one month ago and she checked in with me along the way to ensure I was comfortable with the pressure level. She kept notes on my trouble spots for future visits and her first timers coupon for $15 off sweetened the deal. Two days ago I rang Leigh again and she squeezed me in for a quick visit the very next day, as I needed the massage badly, asap. Again, her office was clean, easy to find, and professional. This review is long overdue. I started going to see Leah a few years ago. From the moment I met her and got my first massage, I was hooked. She is kind, welcoming and a genuinely caring person. I say caring because I know she really cares about the discomfort I experience throughout my week (stressful job, working on a computer all day). It took her no time at all to learn exactly what I liked and which techniques were my favorite. After a session with Leah I feel completely relaxed and rejuvenated. I believe I always say to her at the end 'thanks Leah, that was awesome.' Because really, it's always awesome! I try my very best to make an appointment with her once a month. Sometimes, life gets in the way, and I have to skip a month. Which I hate and my body does as well! Sometimes, I can be a real pain about scheduling my appointments....sometimes I need to come in asap, and sometimes I need to reschedule last minute, no matter what the case, Leah always works something out for me! The massage studio is beautifully decorated and very welcoming. Leah has a great staff by her side who all offer different types of massages. Although I have never gotten a massage from Margo, she is often there when I am and she is always so nice and pleasant.
