I've been a western fan for over 50 years s. My dad used to go straight to the factory for fresh bagels. They're the best!

About a month ago I walked in to place an order in the late afternoon/early evening. As the counter person began preparing my food, an employee (very tall male) went to the dining area where I was standing and began aggressively sweeping in an upward fashion. He swept dirt and debris from the floor directly onto me.The dirt and debris was now in the air and close enough to get in my food. I announced "Sorry, I'm going to have to cancel the order your employee is sweeping and the dirt is airborne and getting in my food". The counter girl preparing my order shrugged and non-chalantly said "okay". Instead of asking the employee to please stop sweeping so she could prepare my order she seemed fine with losing a customer. I then went in a couple of weeks later and another employee walked out to the dining area and began sweeping as I began to place my order. I wasn't about to go through the ordeal a second time so I said "nevermind' and walked out. read more

So I just had an AMAZING BREAKFAST! But the restaurant employees are very unorganized. I was asked multiple times what smoothie I ordered. I have very bad vision and couldn't read the menu they have no paper menu, but the owner wAs very kind to assist me. If they maybe had a system where they actually wrote the customers order and name or give us a ticket number I would for sure go back, but I felt like I should have done the "hokey pokey" while I stood there like an idiot. read more

Not super impressed with this Bagel spot. After a casting I was craving a bagel and, motored over. A lot of high school kids are working there, not a bad thing at all. But, my bagel looked a mess. I ordered a Lox bagel which is cream cheese, capers, salmon, onions. The logical way to fix this would be to put the capers after the cream cheese, before the lox. so they are not rolling off and, falling off. Tried to go in and order bagels for my work today. I was happy it was not busy and there was only one person waiting ahead of me. I am standing in a one person line, holding four large containers of cream cheese wondering when the people in the back would come take care of us. The people in the back were huddled around listening to some other coworker telling, what I'm sure must have been, a hilarious story while we waited and waited and waited. No acknowledgement or even a slight nod to say we would be with you in a moment. I left. I doubt they even noticed they lost a customer today, or will care at ALL that I wont be back. Bagels aren't that good anyway. The only good thing is the parking, but if you cant even order, what difference does it make? read more

I always get a typical breakfast sandwich bagel and shops like these so I can gauge them easily against each other and Western Bagel did well! My wife was in the mood for lox and bagels for football playoff this Sunday. Brooklyn Bagels is no longer on Beverly Boulevard in LA so we tried Western Bagel. Very nice people inside and good bagels and coffee. Brooklyn Bagels is now located in Montebello, so it's difficult to go there just for bagels since we live in Glendale. read more

I love Western Bagel, but went early Saturday morning to the Granada Hills location and was very shocked and disappointed at the lack of social distancing during COVID. Each store is different and because this store is smaller, they don't have it correctly set up. They need to rope off where the table and chairs are as customers are walking back and forth, not standing in their own space. They say no more than 6 customers at a time, but this is way too many in this store, especially how they have it set up. Because of how this store is not complying with the social distancing, I will not return, it's not that important to buy bagels and risk your health. If this store doesn't care to see the issues, then I don't care to go back. I didn't feel safe. read more

Had a egg, ham, and cream cheese on an everything cheese bagel, plus a pumpkin spice latte. The food was very good, and I liked that the latte was not very sweet. My only issue is I probably won't get an egg bagel again because the egg is microwaved in a plastic container. I don't mind that it's microwaved because it tastes fine, I just don't trust plastics; even BPA-free plastics have harmful chemicals in them (Google the Mother Jones article about it). I wish they used the small Pyrex dishes instead. read more

I witnessed something very bad a few days ago. There's this rude lady, i wish i would have gotten her name, but she was bad mouthing one of her employees saying that she didn't know how to communicate or smile at customers. She herself wasn't smiling. You people need to re-evaluate who you've hired onto your team, or i woll not be coming back. She also rolled her eyes when i asked to check points on my card. Terrible customer service. I stood at the register and watched every person make eye contact and look away. It's always that way here. They never acknowledge anyone. Western Bagel - Best cheese bagel I've ever had - Bagels Near Me - Burbank, California

I make a trip out here sometimes on weekend mornings just for the cheese bagel with cream cheese, warmed up to perfection. The bagels here are always fresh, and let's not forget delicious. I also really enjoy the pizza bagels. Who would have known that would be so good? I usually pick up about a dozen bagels and take them over to my grandkids with different types of cream cheese and they get a ick out of it. It's inexpensive, and everybody likes it. read more

Bagels were dense and hard. Don't even come close to freshness of Noah's bagels. If in Burbank, skip Western for Noah's on San Fernando.

This location has a great staff. Around lunch time it gets busy. The wait is worth it though, if you happen to be getting a hot turkey sandwich on your choice of bagel. NOM! I remember my first time there. The cashier and i were talking about how hot it was outside. He was a very friendly older man. He even hooked it up with a free large drink. That always gets a thumbs up. If you like them on facebook or something, you can get emails for a $5 combo: turkey sandwich, drink, & I believe bag of chips. read more

Never disappointed. For a 'West coast' bagel, this place has always been consistent. East coast still rules, but this a good. Casual environment. Fairly low prices. Selection very good. Fast service. House blend coffee is good. Friendly. Even the Burbank PD frequent this place. Trying to break that donut stereotype. To be honest, I gave this a 2 only because the food is good. Customer service is absolutely atrocious. No one ever greets you and staff is usually talking amongst themselves the entire time. My coworkers and I order from here regularly and WITHOUT fail, they mess up our orders every single time. The last 4 times we've ordered from here, they've messed up the order even after they will repeat a correct order to you upon ordering. Today, we ordered some breakfast bagels and bagels O/S with 3 cream cheeses O/S. Upon opening the bag, we were not given any cream cheeses on the side and we were charged a plain bagel with cream cheese that wasn't in our order to begin with. Who the hell orders a plain bagel with cream cheese? It's frustrating because their food is great but it's a pain in the ass to get a hello or a correct order. It would be nice to not have to go back there every time to correct our orders and get a refund. read more

Love this place! So many different variety of bagels and I absolutely love that they have a variety of the whole wheat bagel too! Most places just have a plain whole wheat. But not here at Western Bagel!!! And then their cream cheese options are great too. Coffee is good too. Friendly staff. read more

The best is the fact that they make their own cream cheese, it is a little tart but thats what makes it unique and delicious. From NYC and I have to say that LA does not have any good bagel shops. I tried western bagel looking for a simple bacon egg and cheese bagel. Well what I got was a microwaved egg some microwaved bacon on a tasteless bagel for 5 dollars. Very disappointed. How hard is it to fire up the grill and cook eggs and bacon. read more

Great place for bagels. Beats any bagel place I have been to recently. They must use NY water cause it is as good as it gets here.

Whoever very came up with the Everything Cheese bagel is a genius! Ordering it is a fiasco every time though. The few times that I have been here the food has been amazing but when I order I inevitably get the person who takes my bagel order and walks away before I can complete my order for a drink. No one likes getting "the back" mid-order. I have a feeling that you are going to see this bagel place all over the place but they need to work on hiring the right people and having a better system for taking orders. read more

Busy place, but not a long wait. Yummy bagels, good schmears, good coffee. Great people watching if you sit outside or have a window seat. Really miss Brooklyn Bagels in Echo Park that are really close to New York style, but Western Bagel provides a lot of local delis and restaurants as well as set catering. read more

We get breakfast from here often because it's so close to or house and the sandwiches are great. What compelled me to write a review was their manager, Adrian. While driving there one morning my baby fell asleep in the car and I really didn't want to wake him up just to grab my order which I had already placed over the phone. Although when I initially asked, one of the girls said it was against their policy to bring orders out, I explained my situation to the manager and he was really understanding. He brought the food and coffee to my car and took my payment there, while being really nice about it and not like he was doing me a favor. He even gave me a discounted price because they were running some sort of a special which I would know nothing about had he not told me. With so many breakfast choices around our area it's little gestures of customer service that really separate this place from their competitors and will keep us coming back time after time. read more

Took off 2 stars for service. Bagels good sized & tasty; however, staff can not get one of my orders correct. A bagel cut & toasted means that .. Not cut & NOT toasted or cut, toasted, smeared with small portion of cream cheese. This store used to employ friendly people who could take an order, now not so much. I worked here about 7 years ago as a high school student on weekends and even though I was never too fond of customers, I LOVED the bagels. I got special access to see how the bagels were made, along with everything else there and I'm still a loyal customer to this day. Their hot turkey is my favorite thing on the menu, a hot turkey egg a la bagel with cream cheese on a toasted egg bagel for breakfast, or a hot turkey sandwich on a toasted water bagel for lunch, its all basically just amazing food! Good selection of coffee and pastries if you have a sweet tooth, and FYI, the cinnamon rolls are freshly baked in the mornings, and if you want a warm one later on just ask them to heat it up. Only downside is they close at 5 or 6pm, but their Van Nuys location is open 24/7 if your really desperate. read more
