Everything bagel with plain cream cheese and OJ
    Yolanda W.

I have only had Hanks bagels from their food truck because they have been at my place of work for events several times (you could probably guess where I work from the last pic ) And every time.......they never disappoint The customer service is always pleasant and fast I usually get the everything bagel with the plain cream cheese and their freshly squeezed OJ reminds me of home. Don't forget to toast your bagel!

    NUMBER 1 with Strawberry Jam

Get the number 1. Add Strawberry Jam. Just trust me! This sandwich was so delectable I thought about it for 24 hours straight, literally. I had the sandwich for the first time yesterday. Thought about it all day long, went back again today. I'm eating the sandwich right now and am just delighted. Never have I ever had such a flavor explosion! I told every single person I know yesterday to go to Hank's bagels and get the Number 1, add strawberry jam. Thanks Hank!!!

Everything bagel and Rosemary Salt bagels. So good. Soft and chewy. We brought them home to lightly toast them. Smothered with scallion cream cheese and butter. Wow so much flavor. Quick counter service with some table seating on the sidewalk. Delicious and yummy breakfast.

The amount of turkey versus other stuff.

The food here is pretty good for a little bagel shop deli. The bagel sandwich I got was packed full of veggies and a bit of turkey too. It's a bit on the expensive side I ordered just a turkey gruyere sandwich on jalapeno everything bagel and it's was $17.88 out the door. The service is a bit sketch, the first time I wanted to try it I went to the register and three staff were debating a $100 they received. I patiently waited and eventually they all just walked away never saying a word to me. This was after spending a good five minutes letting them sort it out. So I walked out not having ordered anything. Today was a bit better I was helped right away by someone and I'm glad I gave them another chance. It's a sidewalk deli so you're on Alameda it's kind of loud but if you have a hankering for a bagel sandwich and are in the area they are good.

My friend put me on hanks and im obsessed! The underrated standout item is their potato salad! Their sourdough bagel varieties are great and i really enjoyed the lox bagel. It's quite pricy however but huge. If you're a bagel fan, worth spending the money to try them. If you're not a bagel fanatic, you'd probably be okay with getting more affordable options. Service is always lovely and it's typically quite busy. Not much to say about the ambience because it's small but You can find limited outdoor seating if needed.

Super bummed about this spot!! I was craving a delicious bagel so badly and we drove all the way out here to not a happy bagel place. :( Lots of street parking and wide open streets. We parked across and this place was BUSY. Line out the door! Took a while to even get inside this tiny hole in the wall. They have like 3 small tables outside. Super small tables. We luckily got a table after we ordered. Ordering took a bit since the line was out the door. I got the NUMBER 1 (egg, bacon, cheddar, tomato, aioli on everything bagel, toasted) while my bf got a custom one also toasted. Food came out pretty quick and was pretty sad. The fillings were delish BUT THE BAGEL ITSELF WAS SAD. Maybe I'm just used to crunchy/toasted bagels.. this one was insanely chewy that I felt like my teeth were going to fall out. We both asked for toasted and did not get that. I ended up picking and eating the egg and stuff inside and not even eating the bagel and tossing it. Super bummed and sad. Everything would've been so delicious if it had been toasted. Idek if they toasted them because of how chewy they were. Idk! Not my cup of tea, sadly. IG: @ammysalamii

Orange Juice & a cup of ice..

EXPENSIVE!! Let me start my review by saying that the quality of the bagels I got today, wasn't worth the price that I paid. 3 bagels & an Orange Juice costed me $39.00 even. Could have had breakfast/lunch for that price at Bob's Big Boy, a few restaurants down. Walked in today around 12:45pm and got a nice welcome from Shane H. He was pleasant, with a pretty smile. Very welcoming. These are what I ordered: #1 Onion Bagel that came with Spicy Maple Bacon, Cheddar cheese, tomato slice and Aioli. (toasted) #2 Everything Bagel (toasted) add Avocado (+$3.50) that came with Fried Egg, Braised Greens, Gruyere, Spicy Marinated Peppers & Aioli. I also got 1 Salty Chocolate Chip bagel ($3.00) and an OJ for $5.50. Both of the bagels were not well toasted and were very hard to chew. No public restroom, no parking and limited patio seating outside right in the front of the shop. I think I will stick to my Einstein Bagel or other bagel shops that's not as messy (bagel wise) & not as expensive as Hanks! Place was clean, and baskets were somewhat full. They close early. 2pm. There is no seating area in their shop. It's mostly a spot for to-go and pickup orders.

    Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel.

Let me tell you! These were by far some of the best bagels I've had. I grew up in LA and am so proud that a bagel renaissance is occurring on the west coast, especially in LA. I was fortunate enough to grow up eating great bagels and these are so far my favorite. Now to the bagels. They had a crisp crust with a slight chew, soft crumb and mild sourdough tang. Seeding was generous and flavor was well developed. Great micro-blistering on the crust. The service was also excellent. Quick ordering and quick delivery. Amazing customer service. A must stop for locals and travelers alike.

First time at this location. I have been to the one in Sherman Oaks a few times. Love their bagels. Always fresh and delicious. The sandwiches are so good. They are fully loaded with good ingredients. The white fish bagel sandwich I ordered today was amazing. My husband and I loved it. The lox was good as well. It's my most favorite everywhere I go. Again it's fully loaded here at Hank's. It's under $20 and it will make you full. Easily sharable if you are not too hungry. Customer service was friendly and welcoming. There are a few tables outside on the curb which was nice to seat and enjoy our bagels. They serve coffee and iced drinks. It's a great place of you are craving bagels. Freshhhh baked daily every morning.

I had the Lox Bagel, and it was delicious! The smoked salmon was fresh, and the bagel itself was excellent. My only suggestion would be to go a little lighter on the cream cheese next time, as there was a bit too much for my taste. Aside from that, everything was fantastic. The bagels are great, the lox was flavorful, and the service was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. Great food and even better service--I'll definitely be back!

    ROSEMARY SEA SALT NUMBER 6
    Kaori T.

Finally made my visit to Hank's and it did not disappoint. My father described it correctly: the bagels are like a legit French baguette: harder on the outside and soft in the inside. Deeelicious sandwiches. I was recommended the rosemary sea salt, and man, getting some odd bites of salt was so nice! Tried the pizza bagel too. Reminding me of my childhood days when that was quite popular... we got number 3 and 6 and would come back again. Also bought a plain smear. It's not a big place. No seats inside, just a few outside. Not much room to move around. Be prepared to wait unless you get there early!

Turkey, aioli, sprouts, tomato, and pickled onions on an everything bagel

I've been on the hunt for the best bagel joint in my area. I had to build my own, there's an up charge for everything which is crummy, and by the time I was done my sandwich was $17 and some change. It wasn't gold dipped, but it was incredibly good. My husband got an egg salad sandwich on an onion bagel and he would like to try something else, but he said the bagel itself was very good. My teenager said that there was just too much going on the top of her everything bagel, but said the schmear was great and the bottom of the everything bagel itself was also great. I also got half a dozen with everything, onion, chocolate, and plain bagels with a container of schmear to go and it's very hard to tell the differences between the plain, chocolate, and onion bagels from looking at them. When you arrive, there is no parking lot to park in, only street parking. Street parking is difficult if you want to park right in front of the place, if you don't mind a walk, you can find a spot in the surrounding area. Employees are kind. The place inside is tiny, there are spots outside the sit to eat if you wanted to eat there. I can't wait to try this place again so I can try something new.

After we grabbed our cup of joe from The Hide Room, our daughter took us to a bagel shop called Hank's. While my life pahtner is more into sweets, I'm more into savory, so I was happy our daughter was taking us to a spot for a breakfast bagel sandwich. We also ordered a variety of Hank's bagels, which were a struggle to pull apart with your hands and even with a knife, but I really enjoyed my Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. The star of my meal at Hank's was their Number 1 bagel sandwich. That alone warrants a 4.5 star rating. Hank's is located in Burbank, CA., specifically on Riverside Drive and Valley Street. Rose Street is another cross street. It's across from Sweetgreen and Philz Coffee. It's on the same side of Mendocino Farms and just down the road from Bob's Big Boy. The shop is neighbors to Tocaya Organica. Parking is street parking and neighborhood parking, which is where we parked and had to walk about a block to Hank's. There isn't any indoor seating, but there are outdoor covered umbrella seating in front of the shop. It would be challenging to have a large group dine there. The shop is all about their bagels, so the decor is minimal with tshirts hanging on their white walls, a glass display case showing their cream cheeses and other cold items, and a wire rack showing their Dirty Deli Style Potato Chips for sale. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and really helpful. We dined outside and the staff member who brought our food out was also courteous. Hank's is a shop where you order from their register and they call your name out when your food is ready. Hank's is a popular bagel shop with a lot of take out business as there was a steady flow of customers picking up on line, call in, or to go orders. For the variety of bagels we ordered, we ordered Rosemary Sea Salt, Salty Chocolate Chip, and I ordered the Everything Jalapeño Cheddar. The only issue I had with the bagels was how tough it was to tear or cut the bagels. Besides that, the bagels were very flavorful and tasty. Make sure to buy their plain cream cheese and liberally spread it on the bagels. The cream cheese made the bagels even more delicious. My Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel was too beautiful to eat. I love spicy, so maybe I'm immune to anything spicy, but I didn't taste any spiciness at all. There was a good amount of jalapeños on top, the cheddar doused the bagel, and I engulfed that bagel. The star of our breakfast meal was the Number 1 bagel sandwich. The number 1 comes with fried egg, choice of either spicy maple-glazed bacon or homemade turkey sausage, sharp cheddar, tomato, and aioli on an onion bagel. I selected the bacon and I loved it. I didn't realize this, but you can place any of their sandwiches on any of their bagels. Next time, I'm doing a sandwich with the Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. The Number 1 sandwich is number 1 for a reason and I don't think you'll regret ordering this sandwich. All of the components combined with the bagel made for satisfying and yummy bites. I inhaled that sandwich and I thought that was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten. We always love spending quality time with our Baby Girl. Spending time with her while eating delicious bagels and sandwiches at Hank's made for a blessed time before our long trek to San Francisco.

Will they scramble an egg so the yolk isn't separate/runny?

I've been here a few times and I haven't had a runny yolk yet. I didn't think much of it at the time, maybe I just got a slightly over cooked egg? Either way, based on my experience I think it's safe to say they can accommodate a request for a…

    Are all the bagels vegan?

Most, but not all of them. The couple of times I have been here staff confidently have been able to tell me which are and are not.

    Any gluten free options?

No they don't have any gluten free bagels but they do have salads, drinks, and other items that are gluten free

What is their angry cream cheese spread?

Sweet and spicy (honey and habanero)

    Do you have bagel chips?

Yes! Sometimes they do :) You can always check their online ordering menu to see when it's available.

Are the bagels made with eggs?

No. The only bagel made with eggs is the actual "egg bagel", which is a special only. Not part of the regular lineup.

Can you call orders for pick up?

Only during the week. They don't answer phones on the weekends because it's insanity. If you catch them in a slow period on weekends they'll take your phone order. Doesnt hurt to call and try!

    Do they have bialeys?

    Yes

Is this a good place to grab a bite to eat and work on your laptop?

When the weather is nice they have a great patio area thats very quiet and shaded. I worked there last week for 2 hours.

Completely different menu. Food was beyond sub par you can make the food at home and would taste better! Save your money. Everything we had from two orders of "taquitos", "esquite", quesadillas and a blood orange mojito. The only thing with a bit of flavor was the esquite, but again to pay for roasted corn on the cob with just mayo and cheese? For $13 ? NEVER AGAIN. I have a problem with the way they name their items which is a bit misleading. For example, they have an item called taquitos, meaning you would expect a rolled fried taquitos. What came was tacos dorados so why is it named taquitos? They DID write on the menu that it's fried tacos..but again why are they not just calling it TACOS DORADOS? Same with esquite typically esquites are corn off the cob but this was on the COBB and yes it was described on the menu as on the Cobb but again why not call it ELOTE instead of esquite. Clearly this is semantics but just frustrating. If you want authentic Mexican food there is a Don Cuco's around the block that is WAY better than this place. They are at a different tier than this Kalavera's location. If you're a drinker perhaps that would make the food taste better...so disappointed and a waste of money!

First, their cafe de olla is absolutely delicious. This remains one of the only places where I genuinely enjoy ordering cafe de olla. Second, their food is incredible. They serve excellent portions, everything tastes fresh, and the food is just so good. I've had their taquitos and chilaquiles, and both were delicious. The only downside is that every time I've come, there has usually been a bit of a wait, especially because the restaurant itself is pretty small with limited seating. The inside is cute, but small, so we usually end up sitting outside. This is where their Monrovia location does have the advantage because it has much more space. Parking can also be tricky. Good luck finding a spot close enough where you don't have to walk far. We usually end up parking in the residential area around the corner. That said, the staff are wonderful and always try to be as accommodating as possible despite how busy they are. Highly recommend this place if you're okay with possibly waiting a bit for seating. My friend and I went into this Cafe De Olla on the 17th of this month at 2pm. She met me there and lives in Burbank. I have been here once, I believe back in 2018. It was pretty solid in every way. We were warmly greeted by Erick--the host, standing by the podium and right away he got us a seat inside. After like 5 minutes, Elsa, our server approached us to take our order. My friend and I both felt like we were being rushed through our meal. Food came out hot and quick. We opted for a few of their dishes. Tacos Mananeros, came with 4 tacos ($18.95), with 4 complimentary sauces. 2 of the sauces were very spicy and Elsa didn't warn us. We also got the Veggie Omelette with tomatoes, onions, spinach, mushrooms, Jack cheese, topped with avocado and a side order of hash browns. They made the hash browns perfectly. Told her nice and crispy on the top and that's what we got. (18.95). We also shared their French Toast topped with Strawberry, Blueberries, and Blackberries. ($16.95) topped with lots of Whipped Cream (which I love) and a side of syrup. We needed to add more syrup to make the French Toast more moist. The French Toast was a bit dry for our liking. Even the people sitting next to us who ordered the same thing were saying the same. On the flip side, the other 2 dishes tasted fresh and delicious. Great portions for the prices. We also got this drink called Powerful from their smoothies section of the menu. It was called Green Smoothie. Ingredients were the following: blueberries, honey, Greek Vanilla yogurt, avocado and Almond milk. It was simply very refreshing and delicious. My friend wanted some sort of Latte, Espresso, Americano, etc..but they didn't have any of those drinks. All they had was regular & decaf coffee. At first, I asked for Cranberry juice, and Jose, said they only had Apple and Orange juice. We found it a bit odd not to have any of those drinks. Going back to our server Elsa, she was a bit aloof and forgetful. I asked for a bowl of fruit, and it never made it to our table. After we were done eating, I asked for two to-go boxes and a bag, she forgot that too. We had to ask the other employees to get them for us. The same with to-go containers for our sauces. She forgot to bring napkins too. Jose, (our busboy), needs a raise and promotion! This young man read all the ingredients on the Taco menu which came with: bacon & egg, chorizo with potato & eggs, machaka/eggs, & nopaitos/eggs. The writing in their menu was very small. Another server by the name of Angel, truly was an angel. Checked on us while Elsa was taking orders over the phone. They have another location in Monrovia, a gender neutral restroom, place was very clean. Inside was small. It had 10 tables and nice couches with cozy, inspirational decor and pillows. Lovely music playing over head with a nice patio seating. Will I return? Yes, but not anytime soon! Also check for their business hours..
