Fresh carved turkey sandwich. HMM, not so much. I got a lot of turkey crumbs and fat. They did not toast my bagel or add mayo as requested. They forgot the chips. Pickles put in a plastic container and put into the bag on its side. Bag delivered was soaking wet with pickle juice as were all the napkins. The restaurant was contacted and they refused to refund the sandwich. Poor, poor customer service. First time using this location, Woodland Hills on Ventura. About 4 years ago I'd give them 4-5 stars - this was always a quick, easy breakfast in the morning and bagels were reliable quality. I never waited more than 5-10 minutes in line and the employees moved quick - there were always so many waiting to help customers. Now they seem to be short staffed. The last few times I've come here, the line has been out the door but there's only maybe two tables full inside - they have much less staff working. With Hanks opening around the block, I often find myself ordering from there as they can keep up with the line and have higher quality bagels. Worst service ever. I ordered my order and it was not done after 15 minutes. I asked a worker who told me he did not know where it was and was dismissive. I then asked someone else who asked me who I ordered from. I told her and she told me to go to that person and ask him. I did so. He made my order with regular cream cheese and I had to tell him. I haven't eaten at Western Bagel in a while. I went in today and ordered an everything bagel with vegetable cream cheese to go. They gave me a bagel with plain cream cheese for there. I got them to remake the bagel and pack it to go, but I just got back home and bit into one and it tastes as if they burnt it in the toaster, then scraped the black off and covered it in cream cheese. Absolute waste of my money. And the phone number the internet has on them is not working. So I guess I can't call in and complain. A shame, I've always loved Western Bagels. Nice! Who doesn't like bagels? Came here to pick up a dozen (got the 13th for free...or they can't do that math) and it was good times. Quick service, great prices, easy parking, big open windows makes the place look very inviting. I thought the bagels were pretty good - they had a nice variety and stuff, but the bagels weren't mind-blowingly great. But to be fair, I'm not sure that I've had a mind-blowingly great bagel. It's like porn, I'll know it when I see(eat?) one. So why the 4 stars, my friend? Great Scott - the spreads are deliciousness! I had the original one, strawberry one, and jalapeno one and they were spectacular. The strawberry one had actual bits of berries and same goes for the jalapenos. Coffee is not too good but the bagels more than make up for it!!! I grew up eating Western Bagels and now I'm still growing but I'm doing it horizontally! I think I need to add more time on the exercise bike cause of this place! Great stop in when you have a meeting and you want to make sure that there's more than donuts! HUGE VERITY OF BAGELS! Yes... they have verities of bagels... but the amount of cream cheese thy put is quite little... and the bagel it self is kind of dry. (Seems to not be fresh). Their sandwiches are okay, kind of pricey for dry chicken and everything else they put in it. The bagels not only taste good, but they are offered with your choice of many flavored cream cheeses, topping, etc, and are super affordable. I'll admit that the place is decent and every once in awhile I'd like to go there for coffee in the morning before heading to work. That's all I can say about it though. It's decent. I always get on of there fancy bagels as a sandwich with lettuce tomato onion cucumber and pickles...amazing healthy-ish hangover food. Im in construction so Im up quite early and this place opens at 5:30 am so that works out. The bagels at this place are first rate and I would give them 5 stars if I was only reviewing the bagels. The problem is the last 3 weeks they have screwed up my order all three times! Maybe I am biased, but I don't think my order is that difficult. I could see the occasional mistake, we are all human, but 3 weeks in a row? One of the my biggest gripes that I have with this place is that I asked if a bagel came with one of their cream cheeses, as in... You're not charging me for this, right? It comes with it. Western Bagel has set the bar so high. Other establishments do not compare. The Jalapeno Cream Cheese is freaking awesome. The bagels are extremely fresh. They load tons of toppings on the bagels unlike other places. For example, if you want a poppy seed bagel you will get a ton of poppy seeds on your bagel.
