Very unprofessional reception. it was our first time and we didn't even get to see the dentist. We made our appointments and staff sent us the registration forms online to complete electronically. We completed all necessary paperwork and when we got there, we were handed a packet. The girl told us that we still had to complete the packet also which makes no sense to me. we still completed the packet. Our appointment was at nine and it was handed back to her at 9:10 a.m. we were the first ones there as we had the first appointment. We waited for an hour and a half, and nobody was calling us and every other patient being called. When we walked up to the girl had our cards on the counter and we asked what was taking so long. She had said that she was understaffed for the day. We had asked why they were calling the other patients up and she told us because we were new. We had asked if we should reschedule and she passed us our cards stating we can do whatever we want and rolled her eyes. We had just decided to leave as we felt disrespected/uncomfortable the way reception communicated this with us. we were there due to an emergency. read more

My name is Anna, and this place is horrible. Only good thing about this place are the actual dentists. To start, my dental insurance scheduled an appointment at 12pm. What they DON'T TELL the insurance companies is that the whole place closes for lunch at that time for an hour. I work so I had scheduled it according to my lunch break. With it being a routine check up I figured it wouldn't take long. This was the first time I was at this office location. I just left, the staff was extremely rude because I didn't know they were closing even though it was my first time there. They knew it was my first time because that's what I led with when they first addressed me walking in. I was told "You need to leave, we are closing for lunch" I responded "I apologize, it's my first time here, my appointment was scheduled at 12." They proceeded to be extremely rude, talked over me, and told me to "Get Out" when I was trying to ask quick questions about rescheduling. Apart from my first appointment, the front counter staff lost my personal information (copies of my insurance card, drivers license etc.) 3 SEPARATE TIMES. Later on it was determined that I needed a tooth removed and decided to get an implant with a fake tooth. Was quoted a little over 4k for the WHOLE procedure. Used their finance option and signed the contract. They put the post in, make the mold for the tooth etc. The DAY OF the procedure to put in the tooth, they pull me into the office and say that the old employee quoted me wrong and I needed to pay ANOTHER 4k to finish the procedure. Absolutely wild. I had no choice, they had prepped everything to install the tooth and then blindsided me. I haven't been back since because the front counter staff is absolutely horrible, rude, unprofessional and down right scammers. They took financial advantage of me, a young woman, on purpose and it's absolutely disgusting. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

My advice is for anyone who is a new patient. Clearly check and double check your dental insurance plan's coverage with its customer service section. Make sure they confirm and authorize coverage at this dental office BEFORE you arrive. Call ahead. I've been at this Dental office twice and each time they told me they couldn't confirm my coverage before I could be seen. Both times I waited over an hour. The second time I just left because I kept getting the answer that they were still trying to confirm. Another patient also rescheduled because his wait was too long. This dental office had one receptionist where I observed seven people waiting in line. When I went for just a cleaning, they tried to upsell other dental services before I could leave. To me, avoid this place and find another network provider in your dental plan. read more

Unfortunately I cannot give an individual rating for various employees and office workers separately. I was happy with Dr. Aloka but sadly I can not recommend the office he actually works at. Strike 1-Phone contact: Getting in touch with anyone at any Western Dental is a nightmare. I normally end up being shunted to the call center which is your typical Indian call center that seems to be popular with quite a few businesses nowadays. They often lie to you or are just plain clueless as to their systems when you have questions and about appointments you might have. But they are damned sure to check whether or not you're interested in a complimentary orthodontist consultation. Strike 2-Continuity of care: I've asked to only see Dr. Aloka after being scheduled with Dr. Reina and she looked at a filling that was damaged and stated that since Dr. Aloka did the filling, I'd have to see him. And of course Dr. Aloka was busy and I wasn't on his schedule during that appointment, so that was wasted time. I didn't know that for any work no matter how trivial another doctor did, that you'd have to see them. So afterwards I asked to only see Dr. Aloka. Dr. Reina was rather rough as well, and usually the anesthetic injections were quite a bit more painful. Technique perhaps? Strike 3-Respect for client's time: After this latest examination by Dr. Reina, I was basically instructed to schedule for a cleaning and to check with the insurance coordinator when I was next eligible for a cleaning. Fine, I went up to the inside front counter and the front desk receptionist said to have a seat in the waiting room and wait. She had me wait 45 minutes and then the coordinator came out and the receptionist said, "You're going to have to come back later. We're going to lunch now." If they were going to lunch soon, why did they have me wait and waste my time in the waiting room. Then the receptionist suggested to me that I could come back after lunch to see the coordinator, so I responded, "Okay, I'll go run an errand and be back after lunch." Then she said, "No, you should make an appointment to see the coordinator since we don't know if we can see you after lunch." Wait, you JUST said I could come back after lunch. I am not going to waste my time and gas money to make a special trip for that, and since I had another appointment scheduled for the following week (though I couldn't remember for what) so I just said I'd take care of it at my next appointment. Strike 4-Scheduling competency (and respect for client's time): I get a call from one of the receptionists to confirm my next appointment the day before my next appointment and I asked the woman what the appointment was for and she said that she wasn't sure exactly what the appointment was for so I asked if this was a real appointment or one of the ones I've had in the past which had turned out to be nothing but she was sure it was a valid appointment. I just decided to take the assurance at face value, but when I show up, the receptionist there said, "Wait, you had your examination on the 31st, and so you don't need anything right now. But if you want, I could get you on the schedule for a cleaning at 12:30 (3 hours from now)..." I was thinking, wait, I haven't even seen the insurance coordinator to see when I'm eligible for my next cleaning and you want me to just show up for a cleaning? I don't live a block or two away from the office and making a special trip for nothing, plus the waste of time and gas for nothing is unacceptable. I took my son in for tooth extraction. I called the office to tell them my son has a fever and infection. I was on hold for over 39 minutes. I finally got tired of holding I hung up. I called over and over and over again I still haven't talked to anyone... They are the worst when it comes to talking to someone. I hope you never have an emergency after seeing their dentist. My appointment was 11.15am. I was seen at twelve for X-rays then sat in waiting room .Everyone but one receptionist left the building from 1 till 2pm. for Lunch. They all returned at 2.00 Pm. I was called in at 2pm. Then a very elderly female dentist who spoke very little English told me she had seen my X-rays and it was too complicated as it involved a crown, a bridge and an implant and she could not do it !!! I must find another dentist ! Then she walked away, leaving me with my mouth open , for the wrong reason , and I left at 2.15 pm. Three Hours after I got there. Don't even think about this company. This place is a complete JOKE! Avoid at all costs! I called this location because a different Western Dental was not able to accept more than 3 family members because it's a "Western Dental rule". I called this facility (a week in advance) to schedule an appointment for three of my kids and I asked them why they cannot book more than three family members. The man on the phone said it's a Western Dental rule because there could be too many children in the room. Whatever that means. (Once I arrived, I found out exactly what he meant). Anyways, I proceeded to give them the information they asked for, name address as well as insurance information. I let him know I am making a 2 Hour drive for this appointment for my 3 kids. He agreed to take us in and we are all set to go. Fast-forward a week later we walk into the facility that is beyond cramped with people. The line is almost at the door. (first red flag) There is a child crying, & the poor mother is carrying her to so the her and walking in & out of the facility. While waiting, I can hear several angry clients complaining that they have been waiting for serveral hours, some have even had a three hour wait with an appointment. (second red flag). no wonder the children are crying. A 3 hour wait time, that is ridiculous! It gets worse. I'm waiting patiently, and the receptionist tells the client in front of me, "fill out this application in your car because the room is full and when you're finished, bring it back in". What the.... ( RED FLAG 3) keep in mind, the client has a little kid with her and it's easily over 90°. I know AC exists but come on, why are you accepting clients if you cannot handle the work? Let alone have the appropriate space to accommodate everybody you're booking. Anyways, it is now our turn. As we give the information to the receptionist, she says "oh I'm sorry, your insurance is closed on the weekends, so I can't call to confirm coverage". Are you serious right now? We booked this appt a week in advance! The staff could have called during any of those days our insurance was open & confirmed coverage or COMMUNICATE & tell us to reschedule during the week. The receptionist proceeds to tell us, "this isn't even my job, I'm just filling in for the front because we are shortstaffed. I'm not sure what they did". I understand the young woman helping us is not at fault, but the staff that is overbooking people need to be trained properly. The line was at the door when I got there and it was getting longer. The only reason we were not touching shoulder to shoulder was because the receptionist was sending them out to their vehicles to fill out the forms. INSANE! We were turned away and we were also told to reschedule for a different date. whatever. Fast-forward a week later (today), I received 3 text messages from this company telling me that my 3 kids missed their appointment. Excuse me!? You guys turned us away after we made a 2 Hour drive and scheduled this appointment several days in advance! I also filled out all of the paperwork online in order to save time before our appt. I better not see a cancellation bill. Get it together, Western Dental! There is no need to be greedy and book every single patient that calls and walks into your facility if you cannot handle work. HORSE TEETH, PLEASE READ BEFORE GOING. This place is hell on earth, WOW!! It started well. They pulled all my teeth and, knowing the insurance I am on, tried selling me 1000s of dollars of this work and that work. And then, 1 month after healing, they told me I needed to have my jaw shaved down. Well, that usually happens when your teeth are being pulled. They never did impressions. I didn't even know you did them beforehand. So is this I want more money? I think it is. I have been waiting now a month and a half for an appointment to be made for surgery, and I call all the time, but no one answers. The main number is the people who are rude and won't let you talk. On Monday this week, they promised to call me on Tuesday to make the appointment. Guess what?t I am still waiting. Please call me... I tried all day today it had a busy signal most of the day the rest of the time I spent 10 minutes each time waiting for the message to say no one can help you and hang up on me. WHAT IMCOMPETENCE!!! FLAT out FRUSTRATED!!! I missed my mom's 80th birthday because they promised me teeth on day one. It had been 3 months STILL WAITING!!! PS I forgot when I called to see if my two referrals went through; they said one went through for deep teeth cleaning. Huh? I have no teeth; how am I referred for deep teeth cleaning? Also on the day of my teeth pulling they knew I had bad anxiety because I had a bad experience I asked if they could give me something more than shots and told me straight up NO!! I told them I would pay out of pocket. LMAO WOW!!! So, my subsequent surgery will also be a NO!! RIGHT OWNER!!! I see you read these. All you have to do is look up my name and have your office call me. UPDATE: I Had an alveoloplasty today. The dentist was very rough and stabbed me in the face when he slipped. And then again on the upper lip. I understand you have other patients. I genuinely do, but to be so rushed that it feels like you're pulling out someone's insides is too much. I will say again that I would have if I could have gone somewhere else. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE IMAGINABLE. Please do not go. The pain is insane, and they think 600 milligrams of ibuprofen is gonna help. That is a laugh in a million I was already in intolerable pain and I was still numb. Now watch. I will be back in 3 months with another update because who knows how long it will take them to do my molds and get my dentures in. Of course no care for the High anxiety again today, and I was freaking out the whole time. So, here's a new update I went in for, like my 4th soft reline. I haven't been able to wear my teeth yet because it hurts. They can not get it right. I have been seeing Rena, the dentist, as she at least makes me feel comfortable. But today she told me she could not help me because a different dentist delivered them. Huh? It makes no sense since she has been helping with the soft relines. It is sad when they do not remember they are the ones who have been working with you. I walked out today. I will never be back, so enjoy your money. You don't deserve to be open. You go to school for this yet suck I feel like I have horses teeth in. Sad someone told me the teeth would remind me of a horse I didn't Listen PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to this. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. You wait for hours past given appointment time each visit. No pain relief post extraction of 2 wisdom teeth. When you call for help you get ignored until you call again 6 hours later then you are ignored for another 5 hours before the Dr calls, tells you swelling is normal and good. It's impossible to get ahold of their Indio office. They never answer the phone and once i got someone in the phone and I asked a question I was put on hold without being told they were going to put me on hold. I had to call back after being on hold for 5 min with no answer. I had a root canal done somewhere else and was told to return for a crown. It took more than 3 office visits to even start the prep for the root canal. And I have a PPO insurance. They just keep scheduling me for follow ups and wanting to do X-rays every time I went there. The person scheduling took down my name, birthday & all my insurance information. I arrived 5mins early & was told I couldn't be treated due to my insurance. STOP DO NOT GO HERE. I have gotten sick twice at this location. The staff is incredibly rude. The patient coordinator is only interested in extracting teeth and selling dentures or implants. When I last visited I went in for ex rays and an exam and the Patient Coordinator said I needed to extract multiple teeth.I had seen a different dentist a month prior and he never said anything remotely like that. I do have an issue with one tooth but not extract multiple teeth issues. I told her I wanted to wait and speak to the other dentist that actually works on my teeth so she refused to give me any antibiotics and said she will only extract. There are other options out there. Advocate for yourself and do not listen to this dental scammer. Also the staff at the front are the worst possible people you want to encounter when you are vulnerable and in pain. This was my first experience at this dentist and it was absolutely terrible. The xray tech and dentist were good but the girls at the front and the "consult coordinator" or whatever she is were SO rude and unhelpful. First I waited an hour to even be called when I arrived at my appointment on time actually a few min early. Then it took another hour to do the X-ray and exam. So after two hours of being there they want me to wait again to be called for a "consult". When all I wanted was a check up/cleaning. I told them I had to go so could we schedule the consult and cleaning ? They told me no not at the same time With no explanation as to why they can't book a consult then a cleaning as I'm open to any day they could do so. So basically they want me to come 3 times to just get my teeth cleaned? Which should have already been done in the first two hour appointment! Absolutely ridiculous. DON'T take your children to this clinic for the children specialist!!!' Took my child for a filling with the specialist. "Specialist in children" is not child friendly. Very rude with kids. She didn't even greet us, she just grabbed her from the back of her neck and said "let's go". She told me she had to remove two teeth because they were already falling out, and the newer teeth were pushing them. I told her that if she was cooperating with the procedure it was fine, but if she was crying not to do it. To wait until they fall out by themselves. I was able to hear my child screaming since the beginning and she didn't care since they don't allow parents to be with them in the room. She extracted both of them. She just told the nurse to let me know she was cooperating. Which is false. She just wanted to charge more I believe. My child said she felt only one was removed and that it was very painful. I was able to tell that only one of the teeth was ready to come out, but not the other one. She was bleeding from that tooth for the entire day. When she got out of the room she was crying and the "SPECIALIST" just said "you have to stop crying" . I believe a children's specialist should be a little more charming and gentle. Do not ever go to this place. My wife and I spent 3 1/2 hours there for next to nothing. They refused to clean my teeth unless I paid over $1700 for a deep cleaning. I had to pay just to have X-rays taken. That is fine IF they would have told me that up front. My wife said that they did clean her teeth but it was the worse cleaning she has ever had. She has perfect teeth and has said cleaning has never hurt but this did and they tried to upsell her as well with a process that definitely was not necessary. They will try to sell you lots and will not be upfront on their charges. The X-ray technician told me that the first visit with the X-rays were free and the cost would be determined when we would come back in for cleaning since they were too busy today to have the cleaning done. They would not let me leave until I Paid for my X-rays. I told them I wanted copies of my X-rays as I would never return. My wife was so angry when she left she was almost in tears. Do not under any circumstances go to this dental company if you can help it. We get our teeth cleaned every six months and have never had to pay as much as they charge or wanted to charge. Our regular dentist did not have any openings until February and we wanted to try and keep our six month schedule. Sometimes saying they never booked our appts even though we always call to schedule, long wait times, cancelling on you for whatever reason. And today's problem was them telling us when we got their the dentist wasn't even in office and told us "you are suppose to call to make sure the dentist is here". No actually, the front office you know who's there so it's your responsibility to inform patients that the most important person... the dentist... isn't even in office! It's not the patients job! Feels like a scam. I have never been to a dentist office where they DON'T let you in just because you don't have your SSN card ! I arrived 30 minutes earlier. I had my ID, but they needed my SS card, which you never carry around anywhere, we all know that. So I offered my SS number m and the lady still said that I couldn't get in to my appointment if I didn't have the actual card. Other dentists where able to just take me in all the time with not a problem. I know a lot of people that works in the dental field and I'm sure you're able to put the SSN in the system to find the insurance number of any patient.
