I had three separate appointments at Western Dental on Challenger Way in Lancaster. Each time I called ahead to confirm my appointment, and each time the doctor never showed up. No one called or notified me in advance -- I was simply sent home after waiting. This caused me to miss 3 full days of work. On top of that, I was already dealing with significant pain, swelling, and complications from a sodium hypochlorite accident during a root canal at this office (swollen jaw, lingering numbness, and sensitivity). Today when I brought this up with the front desk woman, she was very rude and dismissive -- she clearly did not care at all about the inconvenience and stress this caused me. The combination of no-shows, zero communication, and rude staff makes this location unacceptable. I will not be returning and strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere. read more

Yesterday, I had an appointment at Western Dental for a braces consultation. The dental assistant who worked with me was extremely rude and unprofessional. I believe his name is Ezekiel, but I also heard other employees refer to him as "Zee." During the treatment, he was very rough, and when I asked him to make adjustments because it was uncomfortable for me he became upset and began yelling at me. His behavior was disrespectful, unprofessional, and showed a complete lack of social skills. The situation escalated to the point where another employee had to intervene and tell him to take a break. Multiple staff members acknowledged that he was being extremely rude to me. Afterward, I asked the receptionist to make a note in my file that I do not want him assisting me during any of my future visits. However, I feel that management did not handle the situation seriously enough. Simply saying "sorry" is not acceptable. Patients deserve to be treated with respect--especially when they are paying for services and can easily take their business elsewhere. I strongly urge management to address this matter properly and ensure that staff members are reminded of the importance of professionalism and respectful communication with patients read more

One of the absolute worst places I have been! Very unprofessional, very rude, not correct scheduling! I got a referral for a ORTHO but yet got scheduled for a day when he was not in office while living 2 hours away after STATING MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE PHONE IT WAS FOR ORTHO for two teeth in one placing. I should've read reviews before coming here... Initially I scheduled my appointment for 12:30 pm, the day of the appointment they called and asked to move my appointment to 2 pm which I agreed to. The staff didn't start trickling back into the office until 2:15 pm. The X-Ray tech was very unprofessional and talked on the phone during the procedure, touched his phone with the same gloves he used on me, and cursed multiple times because his equipment wasn't cooperating. The office was dirty and the equipment and interior of the establishment drastically need an update. Overall, the experience was less than enjoyable. I was there for over an hour and a half for a routine cleaning and in my opinion that is too long. I do not recommend coming here when there are other options available. read more

I switched my kids dentist to this place definitely changing them again 1) I provided the receptionist with information for both dental insurances, she took copies of both yet, she bothered only to check one of them. Said it wasn't covered. I said what about the second one? And she responded with "well there's no phone number do you have it?" Look at the damn copy you made! Anywho, that one was covered for this place but she was mad and didn't bother to tell me we're ok and my baby will be seen. I've been here over two hours and still waiting on the dentist, which brings me to my next point 2) I'm sitting here with nothing to do but observe how dirty this office is. I came to Western Dental for some urgent dental work after not having a regular dentist for quite some time. I've had x-rays/exam, a cleaning, and a root canal with them so far (a total of 2 appointments). Although waiting times can be long and they can run behind schedule like every other medical office I've ever been to, I'm very pleased with their professionalism and standard of care. Previous dentists of mine have shamed me (sometimes even for things completely out of my control like my parents' finances). But the folks at Western Dental have been very empathetic and compassionate. Nataly took her time to walk me through my finance options and made me feel welcome. I'm insured through Covered California and I've found that sometimes providers treat Cov. CA patients different from other patients, I haven't seen that happen here. And they have Spanish-speaking staff on the premises so that is convenient for many locals as well. And they have afternoon and evening hours!!! So glad I found them. read more

I've been coming here since April. I had to have an emergency dentist appointment and I had an appointment the next morning! The people who work there are very nice and caring. I was in a lot of pain and the lady kept checking on me every now and then. Even other time when I've gone the lady will come see how my mouth is doing. So they definitely go out of their way for their patients. Waiting in the waiting room can be anywhere from 20-60 minutes the times I've gone. I went in for an ortho consultation and after they checked my mouth, my payment plan was set up within 10 minutes and they immediately put on my braces in about 30 minutes and I was out of there! Definitely going to continue coming here. read more

Trust the negative reviews - the front office staff is incompetent. I made an appointment online for 1:30pm only to show up to a sign on the door saying they're closed until 2. When the door finally is opened I was told that I should have called since they're closed daily 1-2pm for lunch, which would have been acceptable, however, I only selected the appointment time based on the options given on the western dental site. Then I was asked to complete the customary paperwork, however, I don't see the point of the staff doesn't even review the insurance portion. Additionally time was wasted because the staff was unable to find me under medi-cal despite me verbally telling them my insurance company and writing it twice. They then called three patients whose appointment times and arrivals were after mine until I decided to leave. AVOID IF YOU CAN. read more

They obviously have a history of not giving a crap about people considering how many negative reviews are on here. As for my story, it pretty much lines up with everyone else. We made an appointment over the phone for all 3 of our kids. We got an email confirmation that day, a reminder the day before, and a final email the morning of. Our appointments were scattered between 1p-2p. So, I pulled my kids out of school and headed to the location. When we arrived, the door was locked and a piece of paper was taped to the door saying they were out to lunch until 2p. I couldn't believe it. I called the number and they just offered to reschedule. They could have sent me an email or a phone call letting me know that they decided to go to lunch instead of honoring the appointments they made. Obviously, I'm never going back there. I made an appointment online, for 3pm yesterday. I get to the office, go to check in and the receptionist says very carelessly, "we can't help you today, the doctor left." I asked what she meant because i made an appointment for 3pm, i was told "the doctor just left at 3pm so he cant see you..." Im standing there in tears with a golfball sized infection sticking out the side of my jaw that i had woken up with, trying to ask why would she make an appointment and then leave knowing especially that this was an Emergency appointment... As soon as I walked through the doors, I felt the heaviness in the air. The front-end people were caught up in conversation, so they were oblivious to the line of people forming. Once the entire front office was finished with their important conversation, one of the women yelled out, "You need to sign in." The person in front of me in line stated she was a new patient and did not know the process. I was also a new patient, so I understood her frustration and confusion. My appointment was scheduled for 9:45 AM. After waiting for an hour and watching everybody get called in before me, I asked the front desk how much longer the wait would be, and they said 15 minutes (you know, just be nice and get out of my face). A doctor responded that they had a general appointment when I asked why people were being called before my appointment. After an hour of waiting, I asked her how much longer. The doctor was aware of every patient's appointment on the list, but when I questioned why scheduling an appointment ahead of time would result in having to wait in line, she responded, "I'm not aware that's a Corp thing." I requested the return of my documents and canceled my son's upcoming visit. I will keep looking for a trustworthy dentist office for my family, and if you are concerned about yours, I advise you to do the same. read more

This branch is very unprofessional. ALWAYS having 1 Doctor working. They hardly have both dentist working at same time. I come here and I'm told it's a 3 hour wait. Guess 1 of the dentists called off. AGAIN. Today, I spoke to the receptionist asking for a bit of understanding to let me come back at 2 rather than keep waiting. (My appointment was at 11AM) Ana okayed for me to come back letting me know wait time will be the same. But didn't specify if have to wait the full 3 hours AGAIN. Since I would be seen at 3pm I thought that's what she meant. It's now 2:21pm and they're telling me I'm STILL to wait 3 hours. For clients who only have 1 day to run errands this is inconvenient. Why should I be penalized for the office lacking management organization? So my 11AM is now looking like a 4PM. I'm furious. read more

AFTER MY VISIT: There is no parking anywhere! This was my first and only visit (which wasted 2 hours). No dentist or any one gave me any consultation. No options discussion, no cleaning (as was scheduled and promised)...nothing! After my exam I was sent through the exit out onto the side walk. I have been on hold on there phone number for 2 hours 15 minutes...someone finally picked up and cheerfully put me on hold! While trying again a week later, I got the same. Literally everyone from the receptionist, the x-ray technicians, dental assistants, and dentists are some of the most professional, kind, compassionate, and helpful that I've seen in my life, amd I've been to a LOT of difficult dentists. Ana V my dental assistant is always there to help, her care and ki dness show through, and she is also helpful and kind. Dr. Belaya has helped me through numerous and very difficult prcoedures and always ensures not high qualoty of care, but a very nurturing and kind bedside manner. From that just basic she present $1270 need to pay on Reception of course before they proceed Cleaning ( UL UR LL LR D4921 Gingival Irrigation told me was obligation each 4 times was $400 , plus another basic Fees . Cinthia told me my Insurance provider was not covered . I call my insurance provider everything was covered , Just need to pay $30 in case the was proceed to do cleaning , Gingival irrigation was not a obligation Insurance Provider told me Western Dental Before 4:30 pm never call to verified my Benefits . I was considering was and Scam they want to take from $1270 . Guy name Cesar at front desk RUDE , neglected don't do his job . Get at 11:53 am my appointment was 12 pm and he decided to change for 2 pm or reschedule for another day Because he can't get in touch with my insurance , I call at 1 855 on Thursday I have proof they was open , he told me the he need to go also lunch at 1 pm so I need to comeback later or reschedule. 2 hour wait for x-rays and when we got the final results I was told my son needed his baby teeth pulled due to cavity. They did a sloppy ass job and left the fucking tooth in his mouth. When we got home he pulled it out of his gums himself. Also my younger son had a panic attack because they strap your kids down to do a procedure and his fucking blood vessel in both his eyes busted so now my son is walking around with blood shot eyes. They never came out to get me to calm him down or for comfort. It was a horrifying experience as a mother I feel bad that I couldn't do anything. read more
