I was alarmed that this office wouldn't even do a cleaning because of this "gum disease" and referred me to a periodontist for a deep cleaning and scaling. The periodontist, Dr. Yeoung, said I not only needed a deep cleaning, but also bone grafting and possibly implants. Alarm bells went off in my head because I have been so diligent with my dental hygiene for years and never even have had any bleeding during a cleaning. Also, it was going to be thousands of dollars that I didn't have. (Delta Dental would pay $1,000). I was freaked out and called my Ojai dentist and made the drive for advice. My trusted hygienist told me there was NOTHING WRONG WITH MY GUMS. These two dentists are upselling procedures and obviously are working together to swindle vulnerable patients, (which is easy to do since we can't see very well inside our own mouths and trust them for their expertise). My experience was the worst! I will be driving back to my previous dentist in Ojai for dental work!

Two times now I've gone in for my appointment and was seen an hour to an hour and a half PAST my appointment time- resulting in services that I need to get done them not having time for. Now I have to go back for a third visit just to get done the original tooth that I came in for in April. A woman was there about 15 minutes after I got there sometime before 10 AM. She had a doctor appointment at noon somewhere else and after an hour of waiting for her appointment which was at 10:30. She asked if she should reschedule because she wouldn't make her second appointment. I'm not sure who is in charge of the scheduling, but they need to be let go. Over booking an understaffed office is not helping your team or your patient care. The amount of time collectively I've spent waiting in that office I could've driven to my old dentist in Orange County. Got the work done and came back home I understand your time is valuable, but so is the time of the patients who take off work, arranged, childcare, or schedule other appointments in their day. An hour to 2 hours to be seen as crazy work- only to be told " there's not enough time to do the thing you came in here for we're gonna have to reschedule you"

I called their office Monday Morning and by 11am, I was in their office. She promised me she'd get me out of pain and for the first time in 2 months, I woke up this morning without severe pain. Appointments are frequently overbooked, leading to huge inappropriate wait times in the waiting room, sometimes 30+ minutes past the scheduled time. Cleanings often feel rushed, and I don't always feel my teeth are thoroughly cleaned afterward. one visit, I had a sealant placed, and shortly after during another procedure, it was dislodged, leaving an exposed area from a previous cavity. Overall, better appointment management, new better and polite individuals in the front of the office and pacing would greatly improve the patient experience. When an office cannot manage scheduling properly, it impacts the quality of care and flow of visits. For those considering alternatives, I've been recommended by several people with positive experiences at Lancaster Dental Group across the street in the plaza near Denny's.
