Worst accommodations I've ever had. The one star I gave would be because we met Miguel, a member of maintenance that was nice, had a great attitude, and asked if we needed anything every time we crossed paths. When I tried to compliment him on his excellent attitude, he took me to a member of his team so that he could translate just so he knew if I needed Something. When we made the reservation, it was not mentioned that the whole place was under construction. We were not aware that we were being placed in an Un-renovated room, even though there were renovated rooms available. I can not believe we were charged the same amount for the disgusting, moldy, leaky, dirty ass room...the same price as the breathtakingly beautiful renovated rooms. Our room was so hot (87 degrees even tho it was set at 68) that we couldn't sleep. The office generously allowed us to move to a new room at 1am in the morning. That's when we were able to see exactly what our money was supposed to pay for. $270+ a night for a room that looked like it was straight out of a $40 per night motel. Although the room was beautiful, the air went off at 5am and didn't turn back on. We were given an hour later checkout time, which we had to use to pack up both rooms. All we were asking was a checkout of 3 so that we could at least enjoy the pool on our last day before returning home to snow. Their idea of recompense was $125 off our previous nights stay. I asked for the corporate number and exited the make-shift lobby. About 30 min. Later, the front desk clerk called the room and said she spoke with housekeeping and housekeeping was allowing us to stay until 5pm. So.... in the end, our recompense was decided by housekeeping??? I'm saddened by my experience because it looks as though Wakulla Suites is going to be amazing once finished....just not in time for our vacation to be remembered as a good one. read more

Avoid aT all costs. From the hike to the beach, some rude staff members, the time share aspect...it is a problem waiting too happen. We were admittedly interested untiL we spent 1 minute with a Russian high pressure sales lady. They tried to woo us in with a God awful "lunch cateRed from the pier". Turned out to be breakfast(11:00am) and was lIquod eggs, grits, cold cereal and a soda fountain. Had to explain to tGe mabager the rEason we were dissatisfied and then he said nothing he could do. My family and I love it here. The rooms are stunning, the staff is amazing, the beach set up is perfect, and the kids love the Waterpark. We were greeted by Iver at the beach..he made sure everything was perfect. Lounge chairs, coolers with ice, umbrellas, beach toys/boogie boards, provided sunscreen, and ever cleaned our Sunglasses. The pool staff was attentive, and the bartender was awesome! The General Manager Carlos was awesome as well. We cant wait to go back!! read more

It's not the Ritz Carlton, but it's solid, especially for families. These are apartment style rooms with a kitchen. Newly renovated, nice, clean. The pool and lazy river are great for the kids and right outside the door. It's across from the beach too. Not for couples or romantic getaways though. We came to Cocoa Beach for a quick weekend trip. We got a great 2-night rate at this cute beach-side motel that a friend recommended. It's kitschy, it's cute, the gardens are gorgeous. The mid-century mod architecture and aesthetic is great! The suite was the perfect size and layout for our family of four, access to the beach was superb, the kitchenette was perfect for tackling breakfast and snacks between our activities (and lunch if we'd been staying longer). This place was disgusting!!! Our room was dirty...the staff was rude...and it looks like this place has not been touched since the 80's. Tacky, tacky, tacky! I was really taken back by the attitude of the staff. It seemed as if I was burdening them by asking for a room suitable to sleep in. We stayed here with friends over the weekend. We found it to be absolutely terrific for our needs: lots of room, fantastic gas grills (we had a cookout!), full kitchen, comfy beds, super close to the beach access. The courtyard is beautiful, a tropical oasis. No, it is not the Ritz but it was clean and a fantastic deal. We will be returning for sure! read more

Horrible resort. Horrible staff. Nicely renovated rooms don't make up for highway noise, no beach view, beach access that requires you to put your life at risk by trying to dodge cars to cross the road. We booked a pool view room with beach access. When we arrived we were given a room that overlooks the highway that you have to maneuver the parking lot to get to the pool and beach access is a long long way away and across a busy street. Pool views were given to "owners" - and views are not guaranteed with your reservation. Go stay somewhere else. Wish I had. read more

The online dating of resorts! Pictures when I made the reservation were of a beautiful newly renovated 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite with new large flatscreen tvs in every room, first date met a 1970's rusty, lumpy, saggy 2 bedroom 1 bathroom with 1 tiny tv in the living room, no working internet, no parking, and surrounded by construction equipment and supplies. Angry customer in lobby when we checked in asking to be moved because of the roaches in her room and we were both told there was no other rooms available. Hers was the one next to ours.... Contacted front desk and tech support regarding internet the first night and was told they were working on it. Contacted them the second night and was told it actually didn't reach the building we were in, will never be a third night.... read more

Decided to get a room at Westgate Cocoa Beach and we are currently staying in Building 7 let me just start off by saying that this has by far been THE WORST experience I've ever had when staying at a Westgate Resort. The chairs and Tables in the kitchen are wobbly (loose screws) up to the point where I or anyone else can just sit on the chair and it'll break. Kitchen bathroom and room counter tops all filthy & no towels AT ALL. I had to go down to the lobby to get towels for our room. I EVEN GOT LOCKED IN THE BATHROOM AS WELL AS MY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS. The security and maintenance staff are incredibly rude and childish . They ignore your requests to light the crappy grills. They blame the customer first if any thing goes wrong and try to throw you out instead of fix the problem. They called the cops in 3 times a day when I stayed not on me but other guests. If you have kids that love the pool then I would say this hotel is worth the stay. They have 3 pool areas that my small children really enjoyed. The rooms are updated and nice, but housekeeping doesn't clean daily they left a stack of towels at our door each day, if you plan to have daily housekeeping it doesn't happen. I feel like this place has a ton of potential to be great, but lacking in solid good management and that's obvious. The pool towel areas were often empty and the pool staff would be standing around laughing and talking rather than doing their job. We did enjoy the fact that it wasn't crowded at the pool! I've listed a few things to help you make your decision for your stay: *While the rooms are nice, there is no place to put suitcases in the rooms. The bedrooms are very small, so don't plan to squeeze in extra family members. *The way to walk to the pool area isn't very convenient. We stayed in building 1 facing the street. It was quiet in that area, but had to walk down flights of stairs and around the outside of the hotel around the trash dumpsters to get to the pool. The layout isn't ideal at all. We witnessed 4 different people falling up and down the stairs. The tiki bar closes at 8:00pm. The drinks are just ok, along with a few food items. I felt bad for people that are timeshare owners because they are overpaying for what they are getting in comparison to better resorts. *There is no beachside bar......There is a small store/cafe, it doesn't open till 11:00am and we found none of the staff knew anything when we asked any questions at all. *Our room was hot when we checked in and they came to "fix" it but it never got below 73. We do like the room cold. *Plan to carry suitcases up and down the stairs. A staff member asked me if we needed help, but said he didn't know where our room was then showed up after we already unloaded everything. *We asked about late checkout several times, but every person gave us a different response and it became super annoying. *The beach is nice, but the chairs and umbrellas are an extra charge. The website makes it sound like they are included as a beach concierge. They had two ladies that stood under a tent by the beach, but didn't do much to help us. They will bring you a cooler with ice if you need it which is nice, but they didn't bring it until we were already on the beach for 2 hours. We asked to take the cooler to the resort pool with us and that was a no go. Even though they asked for all our information and signed away our life to use some beach supplies. They do have some beach items, but not enough to get excited about. Overall it's a pretty decent place to stay, but nothing too nice or fancy. I would say staff knowledge and effort was lacking the most. If your like me you want to really feel well taken care of for your family vacation you've really looked forward to I would keep looking beyond this location. read more

Thanks for telling people your hotel looks like a scene from Baghdad. They are renovating and the entire outside is torn up. The rooms are great and the two bedroom suites are nice but not as advertised. The advertising said a tropical paradise not barriers and plastic. I was only able to stay one night but I absolutely will be back and will bring my family! This place has everything you would need to have a memorable and relaxing vacation. It's close to the beach, (with rooms on the beach) shopping and restaurants. I thought the rooms were decorated tastefully and very clean and l loved the little kitchenette!! These positive reviews must be written by the incompetent staff that's trying to keep their jobs. First off they shouldn't even be open for business in the current stage of the property. If my room wasn't non refundable I would have bailed before exiting my vehicle. After checking out I get a call a couple hours later from Nick and Sean telling me I stole 3 blankets. I travel weekly to the space coast and have not or would not ever steal blankets. I explained to them repeatedly and passionately that I did not remove or see these 3 blue blankets I am being accused of taking and now being charged $150 on my corporate card. I have called and reported this accusation to corporate and now demanded a full refund. I have never been angrier at a hotel property then I am right now. Do yourself a favor and don't book on pictures just keep shopping. There are far better properties in this immediate area. read more

If you want a relaxing or beautiful vacation this is not the place to come right now. We where aware of the construction but where not told how bad it really is... all you see is mud and machinery. The new deluxe Villas are beautiful but not clean!!!! Layers of construction dust are all over the furniture the bedding inside the cabinets. Maybe once this place is fully done it would be beautiful but right now it looks like the projects! For what they charge it is definitely not worth it and very misleading! I will say the staff at the front desk are very friendly and apologetic as I know it's not there fault! We will unfortunately not ever come back nor will I recommend! read more

Property is nicely renovated. Pools and splash pads are great for kids. Newly renovated room was nice. That's the end of the nice things I have to say. My comments are similar to other negative reviews. The one overall theme of my experience with Westgate Resorts is: MISLEADING / FALSE ADVERTISING. Advertisement says direct beach access. Not so! You have to walk across a road. Our package included tickets to the Kennedy Space Center. In our email receipt it says in writing that our tickets are secured at time of payment. We paid weeks before we arrived. When I went to the desk to get our tickets, we were told I had to call the sales office as they are different companies. I called customer service and they told me to go to the desk at the resort. I went back to the desk. This time the man said, Oh, well they mean hat desk over there and they are closed. Seriously?!?!?! I called customer service again. Finally we were told we get the tickets at the end of our stay. Or they would make an exception for us and we could drive an hour one way and pay tolls to Orlando to pick up tickets at their other resort. Terrible customer service!!!! They did not clean the rooms. They changed out towels and that was it. They supply towels by the pool but they were always out. This was consistent the entire week so it wasn't just a fluke. We are not smokers. There is no smoking at the resort, but many of the guest completely ignored the signs and the staff did nothing about it. My wife is a travel agent and we came down for her to tour two ships. We will ever stay with a Westgate Resort again. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. read more

I vacationed here back in May 2012. I was pleasantly suprised at how nice it was for the price. I honestly wasn't expecting much for a little over 100.00 a night but we decided to give it a try because we were just wanting a place to stay overnight so my kids could experience the beach for the first time after we left Disney World. When we arrived the staff was nice and when we walked in, our suite was huge. Like a 2 bedroom apartment. Lizards outside in Florida are normal. Gnats are a fact of living beachside. I live here on the Space Coast of Florida, & I have been looking for a place to rent for when my family comes to visit. Nicely remodeled rooms. Beds were very comfortable. Tiki Bar just opened a few days after we got there. There was some construction work going on during our stay, but really a non-issue as we spent 90% of our time on the beach. In the evenings, we would hit the jacuzzi for a bit, have a few drinks and go get dinner. Free trolley shuttle to pier from resort every hour until 10pm. Private beach access at the resort right there! There was a little Westgate store right near the beach if you wanted drinks and snacks, but a bit overpriced. Better off just getting your stuff at Publix Supermarket. All the staff was great, but my hats off to the crew out on the beach. These were the folks setting up chairs, towels and umbrellas every morning at 0900 and kept things going until 5pm. Tons of amenities for activities and for all ages. They even provided coolers with ice for beverages! Best part for me was they had complimentary use of surfboards there, so I surfed nearly everyday! Problem was the equipment was overused and just beat up. However, after I addressed this with management, they immediately put new boards and leashes on order. Two guys out there, (Ben and Jessie) will even give you surf lessons if you need them at no cost. If you just gave any one of the concierge on the beach $20 (not required, but I would suggest it), they will know who you are for the rest of your stay and they will hook you up! Great staff!! Resort is just two blocks from Ron Jon Surf Shop and there's tons of variety of food, restaurants, bars, and other shopping. Best places we ate: Thai Fuku and Sushi. There was decent food and good drinks on the pier. The good vibes and atmosphere was part of the pier experience. Best breakfast: Barrier Jacks hands down! I would definitely go back back! read more

Beach was awesome as usual, they have added new grills which is nice but the bigger grill that we wanted to use was not connected to gas and they would not connect it. I checked out the problem and the "leak" is caused by the fitting not having any teflon tape on the connection. Anyway, the room was great except for the air conditioning not getting cool enough.. Overall a great time at a great value! I will be back...in the fall.... I must say that the housekeeping lady Karen was awesome! read more

Our family had so much fun at Wakulla! The pool, lazy river, and splash of were perfect for our 2 and five year old. Everything was gated so it was easy to relax and watch the kids when in the pool areas. Very family friendly. One of the staff, Gabriel, was so friendly and good with the kids. The rooms were very nice with tons of room. Quick and easy walk to the beach across the street. We would definitely come back here again! read more

At check in we seemed to be bothering the gentleman at the front desk. The room given to us was a handicap room which was no big deal; however, when we went back to the front desk to ask for another room, due to a clogged shower drain and filthy floors, the same gentleman indicated that we requested a handicap room. When we told him that was incorrect he proceeded to argue with us. He offered to upgrade us to another room but we would have to pay for the upgrade. When we let him know we would not be paying anymore than we had already paid, he suggested that maintenance come to our room to fix the drain and look at the floors. The maintenance did fix the drain but stated he was sure the all tiled floor had been cleaned as he witnessed it being swept and mopped. There was NO WAY these floors had been touched. The floor was covered in crumbs of old food, pieces of toilet paper in the bathroom and hair all over the place! Yuck. We chose to keep flip flops or shoes on the entire time, shower and all. We also noticed a half eaten cookie on top of the couch. :) Pretty sure this room was not cleaned. We will not be returning nor would be suggest this place to anyone. We understand it's a 2 1/2 star hotel which explains the outdated furniture, tacky beach decor and not so comfy beds. Would not recommend! Booked our reservation months ago and was not notified that the property would be under construction while we were staying. What should have been relaxing vacation was ruined by jackhammers and hazardous conditions for not only the staff but guests. We brought our whole family, included my 5 month old baby, and had sand blowing into our room from the construction work. The lack of professionalism was seen on many levels. Dirty, dirty, dirty! Yuck. We just came back from a two day stay there and both my husband and I immediately jumped in the shower to "wash it off". This was our first time here and we happened to pick the same weekend the Warlocks, an infamous biker club, were staying there. I guess they come every year. It would have been nice to know that when we made the reservations. Our second day there we had to deal with a bunch of foul mouthed, cigarette smoking bikers by the pool who parked their bikes in the walkways of the hotel. Our second night there we had to deal with bikers revving their engines ALL night long. My 6 year old woke up every hour on the hour. The Warlocks were racing in the parking lot, talking loudly beneath our windows, etc...I complained about this at check out and the front desk manager acted as if I was the problem. He reprimanded me for not calling and complaining (like I'm going to pick a fight with a huge bunch of bikers) and he said the noise problem couldn't be as the bikers had their own guards patrolling the property to stop such things from happening. I could tell the front desk was supporting the big money the bikers brought in and couldn't care less that I wasn't going to come back. I would take it to upper management but I'm afraid they would offer us a free night and I wouldn't want to take it! We come to cocoa beach twice a year. We will never stay at the Wakulla Suites. If the dirt doesn't get ya the management will. read more

Anything good about this place was instantly discredited by the conditions of the rooms themselves! Everything was old and clearly dirty bugs crawling on beds, clogged shower, dirty grills, had to go to the front desk myself to get more toilet paper. If I could I would award this place zero stars because I felt so dirty and didn't even want to use the disgusting shower!!! I will never return and it should be shut down and burned to the ground!!! I'm writing this with a heavy heart. I've been coming to the Wakulla for over 30 years, the price, the multiple bedrooms and kitchen just made it such a great option for a good trip. Each year the clientele gets worse and worse and worse. We just went to the Wakulla and again I said it will be my last time there. The rooms get packed with more people then it can handled the smoking is uncontrollable and everyone now blasts their hardcore music at all hours of the night. While management was sympathetic there was nothing they could do. I have such fond memories of this place but it has fallen off and I shall not return. If you want a cheap trip and want to party without kids and cram 6 to 10 college kids in your room, then this is the place. If you want to bring your family and have a great family beach trip then I would look at a condo or somewhere else. read more

I booked room 104 on Priceline. I was not anticipating a five-star hotel. I booked the room for myself and my family, including two children. Wakulla suites appeared to be family-friendly and fun. It also looked safe and clean. Boy was I wrong. When we first arrived, we realized there was nowhere to park. The parking lot wraps around the MOTEL in a single row. There is no way there's enough parking for all of the rooms. They apparently don't check parking permits either because there were always people parked there who weren't staying at the MOTEL. When we got into the room, I noticed that the furniture was a touch dated, but that's not that big a deal. While we were unloading our luggage, I stepped on a giant cockroach. I understand it's Florida in July, but it was in our room. Gross! We then began looking at the rest of the room. Before we brought in the sleeping children and put them to bed, we checked their room. There were poorly patched holes in the walls, the door had been repaired too many times to mention, the beds were made poorly, and upon investigating a mysterious spot under the pillowcase of my son's pillow, we discovered a rather large bloodstain. Apparently no one felt the need to remove that pillow. The carpet in the bedrooms was yucky and clearly had not been replaced since the 80's. I didn't walk around barefoot and I never wear shoes inside. Our bedroom was just as bad. The bed had divots in the center, I could feel the springs. The paint was chipped off the closet door and there was this runny spot in the wall that no one had bothered to wash off. The bathroom had dirt and dead bugs still left in the floor, the shower wouldn't drain, the toilet seat was stained, and again, the door looked like it had been patched a few too many times. The kitchen was the worst part. There was food in the stove from people before us. The refrigerator was covered in rust.There were dead bugs in the floor. The ceiling apparently had leaked in the past and no one bothered to repair it correctly. The patch had apparently dripped onto the cabinets and no one bothered to clean them off. There was still coffee in the coffee pot from someone before us and even the toaster was filthy. The people staying in the MOTEL at the same time as us were scary. Upstairs were a small toddler, a young child, a teenage girl, an adult woman, and a man. I heard the baby cry at 5:30am. I could hear everything through the walls. Also, this MOTEL says they are steps from the beach. The MOTEL owns three buildings, the smallest of which has beach access. Ours was two blocks from the beach. I was told that I could not change rooms and was denied a refund by both Wakulla and Priceline. I was disappointed in the service given by Priceline and despite my good experiences with them in the past, I will not book any trip with them ever again. read more

Wakulla Suites is by no means a fancy place but it's pretty decent for the price. It's nice if you have a large extended family who are fans of cooking their own Indian/Pakistani food even when they are on vacation like I do. The kitchen is small but has the basics - a fridge, microwave, stove, coffee pot, and silverware and dishes as well as pots and pans. Even if you're not out to cook a full meal there, it's nice to be able to have the option to make simple meals so you don't have to eat out if you're at the beach for a while. There are two bedrooms, one with a king sized bed, the other has a full/queen and a twin size bed. Up to 5 people can sleep comfortably. There's also a sofa and two comfortable armchairs in the living room. I love the apartment feel of it. Wakulla has some unique amenities like grills in the inner courtyard and a huge garden with plants that have been imported from around the world. It's the best place to stay if you're looking to plan an extended visit to Cocoa Beach. read more

Ok so I'm giving 3 stars. I don't know if others would. I'm being very generous here. I am usually a hotel snob. This mini vacation was booked by a friend who thought it was a resort. They have two bedroom suites. It's clearly an older facility. It was a bit run down but it looked pretty clean. No bugs or stains on towels or sheets. The bathroom was very dated, they should probably replace the tubs or repurpose them. My son didn't want to sit down in the tub because it looked a little gross. It looked like they removed something from he bottom and put a mat on top to try to cover it up. I just let him stand, I wore shower slippers. Other than that it was a decent place to stay. The kitchen was clean and had some utensils for us to prepare small meals. They had two pools, a large one and a kids pool. Its really close to the beach It's nice for someone on a budget that really just wants a place to sleep. I probably wouldn't stay here again. But only because I'm a hotel snob, if I wasn't so OCD I would stay again. Like I said, it's decent. read more
