We went to bar louie before an Arizona rattlers open house at the arena. we arrived about 1230 pm on a Saturday the 24th of feb 2024. We were seated promptly by Amanda who was also our server. i had the bistro burger and the mrs had the fish sandwich. Both were outstanding. the burger was perhaps one of the best i have ever had and the fish was very very good. I went to the bar Louie for the first time a few weeks go to grab a drink with a friend before heading to a previously made dinner reservation at another restaurant. After having one drink and casually bantering with the bar tenders I made the dinner party go back after dinner. The drinks and service are incredible here. The bartenders (Jared and Johnathan are amazing and I can't say enough good things), don't mind going off script to make you anything you want or to make you something off menu, I haven't had a drink there I didn't like. This is my husband and I's Tuesday date night go to. We love happy hour with the F'in good martini and the lemon drop! We also get chicken sandwiches with their side salad! Their buffalo chicken flat bread is always a treat, Yummmmm! Their ranch dressing is so delicious, I could drink it! The atmosphere is nice, the wait staff is friendly and as long as you get the right bar tender, your drinks are amazing. This will continue to be our Tuesday night go to! She was probably the friendliest most attentive waitress we have encountered at this location. She was wonderful and so was the manager. I came in for my first time February 14, 2022 with my girl. I checked in and was told there will be a 40 to 50 minute wait. After 50 minutes I did not receive a text. I went in and the greeter said they were not serving anyone because the kitchen is too backed up. I'm disappointed because I didn't get a text back. It was 8:00pm when I showed up. If heading to the Westside, this is a stop I would recommend. We went on a Tuesday night and they have this Tuesday offering where you can choose from several burgers for just $5 bucks. This is accompanied by some pretty good drink specials too. We sat on the spacious patio that wraps around the west side of the restaurant. It is a great seat and incorporates you into the vibe of Westgate. The menu has a ton of offerings and fits about everyone's taste. The cocktails are well derived and this is a fun place to host a party or office happening. Located near the Coyotes home makes it a great stop before the game. Don't forget the Cardinals are just up the street as well. For the non-sports fan, Cabela's is just across the street to the north and the outlet malls are located to the west. Bar Louie Westgate is the only restaurant we have been to since Covid first hit that is not only following all safety guidelines but also has someone to greet you at the door to remind you that you must wear a mask any time other than seated at the table. Most places nearby require a mask when you walk to your table but don't enforce it when people walk out - which really defeats the purpose. Servers have masks and gloves. The menu can be scanned with your phone. We enjoy their $5 burger night! Burger, tots and a really good selection of local craft beers. read more

The Westgate Entertainment Center is such a convenient option for the Glendale, AZ area. I happened to stop into Bar Louie after the Fiesta Bowl and it was a great choice. It is within walking distance from the State Farm arena. They ID upon entry, so have your card out. The food and drinks were good. Fair prices on the food, but the drinks were a little pricier than anticipated for what you actually get. I ordered the quinoa salad with salmon and a couple of drinks. The strawberry sangria was delicious. However, the strawberry margarita was more sugary than anything- just way too sweet. There was an abundance of seating and the live music was cool! We came on a Sunday afternoon and there was a 15 minute wait. We had our name on the list so once we were called up we ended up waiting another 15 minutes waiting for them to clean our table off. There are not very many options on the menu. Two of the items are mac & cheese. My daughter wanted to order the mac & cheese and she informed us they don't have any. It took about 20 min for our appetizer to come out. About 30 minutes after placing our order The waitress informed us that the fish that I ordered was still frozen. (Did they not know that 15+minutes ago when they should have been cooking it? ) due to the dietary restriction I have I told her I needed a few minutes to think about what I wanted. A few minutes later she brought out the food for the other people in my party. Honestly i was pretty annoyed and would have preferred at that point to just go somewhere else but the others had their food. I ordered something else which was good. I suppose in many ways you would expect professionalism to manifest in their servers but I'm afraid that was not the case on a late Friday night at this location at Westgate. I wanted to celebrate my birthday with a late night dinner with my friends but was met with inconsistent drink orders and timing with our food. After spending almost an hour without food my party of 10 decided to walk out on this poorly established location. I recommend going to the Tempe Marketplace Location as they have highly trained employees with excellent costumer service and an inviting atmosphere. Small things to consider, we had to ask for a new server but still was having to wait even longer on food arrival. Our original server developed a rude attitude after we ask about how long it would be for our food to come. After that point she ignored our table all together. Ultimately, left with such disappointment for I expected the same great service I got at a much better location. Management is obviously not going to change this behavior but I thought I share my unfortunate experience with everyone in case they decided to choose this location. A waiter came over and said, "I'm sorry, our kitchen is closed." So I asked did they NOT close at 2am? He said, "well it depends on if we have the flow of business to stay open." This place is our go-to for food at Westgate. The food is delicious, it appears they make all of their sauces (the ranch and Caesar dressing is some of the best). Their portions sizes for their "upcharges" for added protein food is a little askew as seen in the attached photo ($5 for this amount of chicken on the salad ). Service is usually good but can be hit or miss. Bar has many options but the bar area smells like it needs a good cleaning. The smell of vinegar (aka rotting beer) is very evident when sitting at the bar. It's kind of gross. But otherwise, food is good. read more

** per previous reviews it seems cutting off customers for no reason at all is a common thing here** After my wedding a group of friends (who are service members that traveled from TN, WA, NC,VA) decided to continue our celebration and go to this bar since it was one of few open on a weeknight. Little did we know bar Louie would target my group. When we walked in around 11:30pm the manager greeted us by asking "what do you want, the kitchen is closed". We didn't think anything of his rudeness considering we just got married. We were not causing any issues, simply chatting amongst friends we don't see often on our special night. Randomly in the most unprofessional and obnoxious manner the bartender (I believe his name is drew) told my husband he was cut off from drinking because my husbands "eyes were bouncing around" and he was "visibly intoxicated". This was far from the truth and anyone in the bar could look at him and his demeanor and tell he was not drunk. I even at one point told the bartender to calm down with how he was so aggressive with cutting my husband off. This was extremely embarrassing to be randomly targeted and called out considering the bar was not very busy and calm for a Westgate bar. The bartender claimed it was his managers call but when the manager came to talk to my husband he was claiming to be unaware of what happened. The bartender (drew) then pointed over to another bartender (I believe her name is McKayla) stating she pointed my husband out when we walked in and that the staff needed to keep an eye on him because he was visibly intoxicated and we were an intoxicated wedding party. Clearly my husband was targeted the moment he walked in the door. Our entire group was shocked and defensive, rightfully so. Ironically sitting beside my Mexican husband was a very clearly intoxicated white woman who they allowed to order 5 tequila shots and 5 other mixed drinks.... So I will let you make your assumptions how you wish for why my husband was cut off and not her. I called bar Louie to complain about this and of course they took my information and never returned my call. The manager claims he's a veteran which is why I mention we were a group of veterans, so he can thank his staff members for ruining a night of what should have been laughs and good times amongst 6 veterans who were catching up on lost time and celebrating our wedding night. I will NEVER be back here and will be taking my complaint to corporate. read more

Just tried this for the first time tonight. Went in on a quiet Tuesday with my husband for their Tuesday special which is $5 burgers. Stood at the door for a few minutes, no one approached us or even said anything to us. Come to find out it's open seating. We were then approached quite promptly, our waitress was very kind. The burger was nothing extraordinary, but wasn't exactly expecting anything grand, having only paid $5 for it. We splurged and ordered the chocolate cake - would definitely recommend getting the Godiva liqueur on the side otherwise the cake gets soggy. All in all, nice place! read more

At first my waitress came fast but after that she was gone a majority of the time. The food runner was great. My boyfriend ordered a Guinness and shot of Jameson that tasted watered down. Group was there on Tuesday. Great day to go as not only do they have Happy Hour specials but it is 1/2 off Burger day. First of all they gave our group a whole small room on the side with our own servers. And they did an excellent job making sure everyone was able to get whatever they wanted. The selection of wine, beer and mixed drinks is nice and the HH prices making drinking too much an easy thing to do. The flatbread pizzas are also great with a variety that will suit almost anyone's taste. When the clock struck 5, the 1/2 price burgers started and several of our group ordered up. Like the usual upscale burger, the initial problem was, how do you get that thing in your mouth ? But needless to say, it gets done and everyone was happy. This place should be avoided at all costs on Cardinal's game days. We were lucky, or so we thought, to snag a few seats at the outside bar at 10:30 am before the game with a line outside the door already forming. We had originally planned for Yard House, but saw a 100 person line outside the door 20 minutes after they opened. West gate was a mad house this past Sunday, which is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1. One of the bartenders immediately greeted us, and we said we needed just a minute to decide on drinks. Apparently that was our only window of opportunity as she then preceded to make an ungodly amount of drinks in the well for the restaurant. She was SLAMMED, which would have made it okay to wait to order drinks if not for the other bartender, a man with curly black hair, who was barely working, to finally realize our existence in the literal middle of the outside bar. He went around the entire outside bar checking on everyone else, poured a few beers and completely overlooked us for 20 minutes. My fiancé tried to order an Amstel light, which is the first beer bottle listed on the drink menu. The bartender said, I don't believe we have that. When the female bartender came around we asked about the Amstel light again to which she bluntly replied, "we don't have it". Which is fine, but don't just say you don't have it when it's ON the menu. Acknowledging that it's there and that they are just out would have been the appropriate response instead of looking at us like we are stupid for even asking. The kitchen was probably incredibly slammed so I appreciated that our fish and chips came out nice and hot, albeit it took 40 minutes. At this point the sun is creeping towards the bar seating and I turn to ask my fiancé if the sun is on my face, because it felt incredibly hot, to which he said no. Every time I turned my face to the side I could feel heat radiating on it and my back was burning up. This was about to become a nightmare of a outing if the sun was already this hot at 11:30, and we were practically held prisoners here by the slowest service I may have ever encountered. But guess what? It wasn't the sun, they had the HEATERS ON! It was 95 degrees out. A few people next to us say they complained that the heaters were on 20 minutes ago, and no one had done a thing to remedy it. I turn behind me to see a dial on the highest setting (6) and say I bet that's the switch. A man next to us gets up and turns the dial all the way around and we began to feel immediate relief. No thanks to anyone that was working at Bar Louie, but a very nice Minnesota Vikings fan. It would take a very odd accident for someone to bump into that...Makes me wonder how the dial got turned allll the way around, unless it was purposely done. Unfortunately, my server roots do not allow me to tip under 20%, but these bartenders deserved 10%. I've been in a position when I am drowning and hate my job, and want nothing more to do then throw my apron on the ground and walk out. However, we were nothing but patient and kind and an acknowledgment for how long we waited for drinks, and service in general, goes a long way in my book. A quick, "I'm sorry for the wait". "I'm sorry, I know it's on the menu, but we don't carry Amstel light anymore". "Thank you for your patience". Any one of those would have sufficed and made the experience much more pleasant. I would have likely returned here; giving them the benefit of the doubt that it's not as crazy on other days. I absolutely love the food here, from healthy crisp salads to bacon and cheese covered loaded tots, the food here is GREAT bar food. Food here is QUALITY AND QUANTITY. Great foods to go with wines and beers, by the way, if you have a late group you can order cocktails by the pitcher. YAS! My favorite salad has to be the Blue Cheese and Pear Salad, great pairings of pear and blue cheese and walnuts and cranberries. Another favorite item on the menu of mine is The Fried Louie burger, a cheeseburger with a fried egg! They definitely have great happy hours, especially on Tuesday, 5pm-close, you can grab a burger and either tots or fries, for only $5.00! That's a deal you can't miss out on. The only downfall and the only reason why I docked two stars is because I've been here so many times, and every time, the service here disappoints me in some way. I understand that it is a place where you seat yourself, but every single time I come here, I have to wave down a waiter to take out order after waiting about 10-15 mins. I'm very understanding when the say "sorry about the wait" but 3-4 times out of 5 that I've been? That's a bit much, and it's usually not even that busy when I come by. Even after ordering, service is so slow. Every time something is needed, it's given to my table when it's not needed anymore or when we've already finished our food.
