Group was there on Tuesday. Great day to go as not only do they have Happy Hour specials but it is 1/2 off Burger day. First of all they gave our group a whole small room on the side with our own servers. And they did an excellent job making sure everyone was able to get whatever they wanted. The selection of wine, beer and mixed drinks is nice and the HH prices making drinking too much an easy thing to do. The flatbread pizzas are also great with a variety that will suit almost anyone's taste. When the clock struck 5, the 1/2 price burgers started and several of our group ordered up. Like the usual upscale burger, the initial problem was, how do you get that thing in your mouth ? But needless to say, it gets done and everyone was happy. This place should be avoided at all costs on Cardinal's game days. We were lucky, or so we thought, to snag a few seats at the outside bar at 10:30 am before the game with a line outside the door already forming. We had originally planned for Yard House, but saw a 100 person line outside the door 20 minutes after they opened. West gate was a mad house this past Sunday, which is the only reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1. One of the bartenders immediately greeted us, and we said we needed just a minute to decide on drinks. Apparently that was our only window of opportunity as she then preceded to make an ungodly amount of drinks in the well for the restaurant. She was SLAMMED, which would have made it okay to wait to order drinks if not for the other bartender, a man with curly black hair, who was barely working, to finally realize our existence in the literal middle of the outside bar. He went around the entire outside bar checking on everyone else, poured a few beers and completely overlooked us for 20 minutes. My fiancé tried to order an Amstel light, which is the first beer bottle listed on the drink menu. The bartender said, I don't believe we have that. When the female bartender came around we asked about the Amstel light again to which she bluntly replied, "we don't have it". Which is fine, but don't just say you don't have it when it's ON the menu. Acknowledging that it's there and that they are just out would have been the appropriate response instead of looking at us like we are stupid for even asking. The kitchen was probably incredibly slammed so I appreciated that our fish and chips came out nice and hot, albeit it took 40 minutes. At this point the sun is creeping towards the bar seating and I turn to ask my fiancé if the sun is on my face, because it felt incredibly hot, to which he said no. Every time I turned my face to the side I could feel heat radiating on it and my back was burning up. This was about to become a nightmare of a outing if the sun was already this hot at 11:30, and we were practically held prisoners here by the slowest service I may have ever encountered. But guess what? It wasn't the sun, they had the HEATERS ON! It was 95 degrees out. A few people next to us say they complained that the heaters were on 20 minutes ago, and no one had done a thing to remedy it. I turn behind me to see a dial on the highest setting (6) and say I bet that's the switch. A man next to us gets up and turns the dial all the way around and we began to feel immediate relief. No thanks to anyone that was working at Bar Louie, but a very nice Minnesota Vikings fan. It would take a very odd accident for someone to bump into that...Makes me wonder how the dial got turned allll the way around, unless it was purposely done. Unfortunately, my server roots do not allow me to tip under 20%, but these bartenders deserved 10%. I've been in a position when I am drowning and hate my job, and want nothing more to do then throw my apron on the ground and walk out. However, we were nothing but patient and kind and an acknowledgment for how long we waited for drinks, and service in general, goes a long way in my book. A quick, "I'm sorry for the wait". "I'm sorry, I know it's on the menu, but we don't carry Amstel light anymore". "Thank you for your patience". Any one of those would have sufficed and made the experience much more pleasant. I would have likely returned here; giving them the benefit of the doubt that it's not as crazy on other days. However, humility and professionalism are clearly not assets to this business, so it's a hard no for me. read more

I absolutely love the food here, from healthy crisp salads to bacon and cheese covered loaded tots, the food here is GREAT bar food. Food here is QUALITY AND QUANTITY. Great foods to go with wines and beers, by the way, if you have a late group you can order cocktails by the pitcher. YAS! My favorite salad has to be the Blue Cheese and Pear Salad, great pairings of pear and blue cheese and walnuts and cranberries. Another favorite item on the menu of mine is The Fried Louie burger, a cheeseburger with a fried egg! They definitely have great happy hours, especially on Tuesday, 5pm-close, you can grab a burger and either tots or fries, for only $5.00! That's a deal you can't miss out on. The only downfall and the only reason why I docked two stars is because I've been here so many times, and every time, the service here disappoints me in some way. I understand that it is a place where you seat yourself, but every single time I come here, I have to wave down a waiter to take out order after waiting about 10-15 mins. I'm very understanding when the say "sorry about the wait" but 3-4 times out of 5 that I've been? That's a bit much, and it's usually not even that busy when I come by. Even after ordering, service is so slow. Every time something is needed, it's given to my table when it's not needed anymore or when we've already finished our food. Shockingly bad for such a premium location. It is really hard to beat this location for concerts and sports but the good stops there. The bar area is in desperate need of a deep clean as the smell of rancid water and dirty dishes permeates the inside. The food is just not good. Bartenders are friendly and make solid drinks hence the two stars instead of one. With a little effort this could be a great spot. read more

** per previous reviews it seems cutting off customers for no reason at all is a common thing here** After my wedding a group of friends (who are service members that traveled from TN, WA, NC,VA) decided to continue our celebration and go to this bar since it was one of few open on a weeknight. Little did we know bar Louie would target my group. When we walked in around 11:30pm the manager greeted us by asking "what do you want, the kitchen is closed". We didn't think anything of his rudeness considering we just got married. We were not causing any issues, simply chatting amongst friends we don't see often on our special night. Randomly in the most unprofessional and obnoxious manner the bartender (I believe his name is drew) told my husband he was cut off from drinking because my husbands "eyes were bouncing around" and he was "visibly intoxicated". This was far from the truth and anyone in the bar could look at him and his demeanor and tell he was not drunk. I even at one point told the bartender to calm down with how he was so aggressive with cutting my husband off. This was extremely embarrassing to be randomly targeted and called out considering the bar was not very busy and calm for a Westgate bar. The bartender claimed it was his managers call but when the manager came to talk to my husband he was claiming to be unaware of what happened. The bartender (drew) then pointed over to another bartender (I believe her name is McKayla) stating she pointed my husband out when we walked in and that the staff needed to keep an eye on him because he was visibly intoxicated and we were an intoxicated wedding party. Clearly my husband was targeted the moment he walked in the door. Our entire group was shocked and defensive, rightfully so. Ironically sitting beside my Mexican husband was a very clearly intoxicated white woman who they allowed to order 5 tequila shots and 5 other mixed drinks.... So I will let you make your assumptions how you wish for why my husband was cut off and not her. I called bar Louie to complain about this and of course they took my information and never returned my call. The manager claims he's a veteran which is why I mention we were a group of veterans, so he can thank his staff members for ruining a night of what should have been laughs and good times amongst 6 veterans who were catching up on lost time and celebrating our wedding night. I will NEVER be back here and will be taking my complaint to corporate. read more

Although, it was Saturday night it wasnt as busy as the other places. It's a sit where ever you want establishment. The drink I ordered was a Cherru BomBay I admit the drink was very good. It came out quick. One we ordered our food I ordered the Flash-Fried Calamari my friends ordered the nachos with Spanish dip and the the nachos with chicken. (They compare sticky chicken or seafood) But it took FOREVER to get our food. We saw a couple that came in before us that had ordered their food to go at the same time as us and you could tell that she was getting annoyed with the wait time because she kept asking the waiter how long. Of course it was hot inside they were utilizing swamp fans to cool the inside it felt. Once we got the food it was good but the dip was cold which it should if been hot. It was so disappointing. Our waitress was very cold and rude, she took 35 minutes to come back to take out order. Meanwhile we watched her sit and serve multiple other tables (who we also saw complain at the end of the night) the food came and it was cold/wasn't what we ordered exactly, and something we ordered didn't make it our... we had to ask twice for them to bring it awhile later. Came here for my birthday in a wim. I used to be in the service industry and I understand a lot but this was a poor experience. At first my waitress came fast but after that she was gone a majority of the time. The food runner was great. My boyfriend ordered a Guinness and shot of Jameson that tasted watered down. When we walked in the two hosts were sitting at a table eating. They saw us and got up to great us with their masks half on. One of the girls eating a Flatbread licked her fingers before picking up our menus. We asked for patio but they weren't sure they could seat more tables outside so we just sat inside. Also asked for ketchup and was brought an empty bottle and was told the supplier didn't bring their ketchup order. Came here before the Carrie Underwood concert to find a restaurant full of empty tables and snot nosed girl at the front say it would be an hour wait with a line out the door. She then takes our name and says if you find a seat at the bar you can sit and eat there. We find to seats at the bar and take our name off the waitlist only to have a manager say no you can't order food at the bar, only wings or chips. To his credit he got us a table immediately and we knew the kitchen would be backed up. Ordered spinach artichoke dip and chips and a burger to share. Waited 45 minutes for the chips and dip and the chips were honestly the most stale chips I have ever eaten in my life. Wondering how can they be a 3/4 full now, still empty tables, but busy and still have stale chips? Like super stale. Hour and 1/2 to get the burger to share. Brought me a beer with a cold glass and I immediately am like OMG look at the glass!!! I think they literally took it from another table and set it in front of me it was sooooo dirty, server was so embarrassed and I felt bad for her as I am sure she is busy and some lazy person handed her the beer and glass and she just missed how dirty it was. She took it away before I could get picture. I wasn't even mad and was almost laughing that I would even consider drinking out of glass like that. This place is so mismanaged that it's apparent watching the workers work and manager constantly going table to table apologizing for something wrong. We will never go back. The atmosphere was very lively and the music selection was awesome. We got there at about 8:45-9 pm tonight (Friday), and it was pretty busy. We had to let the hostess know that we were here and needed to be seated. Once seated, I went to the restroom. Walking through the restaurant, it is a very cool scene with vibrant colors and art but the bathroom was dirty and the bathroom door didn't lock very well at first. I had to shove the door shut and turn the lock hard. There were no seat covers and the toilet seat was gross. The waiter was friendly and got our drink order pretty quick and I ordered the cherry vanilla fizz which took about 10 minutes to get to the table. I didn't like it at all. The food probably took about 30 minutes. The waiter was very attentive though and checked in often and apologized for the wait. The fish and chips were kinda soggy on the inside like the breading soft and undercooked and there was more breading than fish. The cinnamon balls were a little too dry for me even with the chocolate sauce. Overall, it was a nice experience but I was not impressed with the food. I will definitely come back and try something else on the menu next time. read more

Came to this cool restaurant after a long drive in from Palm Springs, CA with my fiancé. Jonathan was our server and was fantastic! He was quick and efficient with getting whatever we wanted. Ordered the shisito peppers, wedge salad, and wings. All were tasty! I ordered the cucumber mint martini (I forgot what it was called lol) and that was great! Saw they had Fat Tire on tap and ordered but sadly they were out so I went with my ride or die Modelo. Jonathan sold me on a beer special they were having, with any draft beer you get a $3 shot (varies) so of course I have to get my other ride or die, Jameson! What a great deal!!! If we weren't tired we would have stayed lil longer. My only two cons are that the music was pretty loud, I dug the playlist but would have turned it down just a smidge. Second was the odor.... Service and drinks are good as well as the tots. They have an outdoor area for dogs. It's shaded and has heat lamps for when it gets cold.

My friends and I went here for brunch one Sunday morning. We couldn't find the brunch menu online so we took a chance. The menu did not feature traditional brunch items so we were disappointed. The place was not busy at all. We sat at a pub table and watched football. We were waited on promptly. Our server was patient as we decided on drinks. They offer "almost" bottomless mimosas. You have a maximum of 5 mimosas. Also disappointing but you can have different flavors. I requested a custom flavor and the bartender made it perfectly. The drinks were weak so we basically had 5 glasses of expensive juice. We ended up ordering from their regular menu. I had the cheese steak nachos which were pretty tasty. A friend had a pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed it. Overall, based on the food and service, I would come back. But I would not return for brunch or for good drinks. read more

We got the szechuan boneless wings and a chicken quesadilla, both were very good and game us plenty to split. the prices were very reasonable and the martinis were strong and flavorful. We used to come to this place for dinner pretty regularly pre-pandemic but as happens we kind of just stopped coming here for no particular reason. The food was decent and the service was generally average. Fast forward to last night (actually this morning) and we had just left an event over at the hotel and were looking for some place that served food late. We headed over to Westgate and decided on Bar Louie. We were first seated inside and immediately noticed a really bad smell permeating the entire place. Another reviewer described it as a foul old wet rag smell and I think that's pretty accurate. We asked the waitress about the smell and she said " yeah I have had a few customers mention it but I guess I'm just used to it." We asked if we could sit outside and she told us to go for it. We found a table outside and sat there for 10 minutes with no server in sight. One of our party went in and asked for a server. 5 minutes later a server appeared and finally took our order. After a while our drinks arrived. After another 10 minutes the server appeared at our table with who I assume was the manager. It was at this point the manager told us that the kitchen staff had walked out and we could not get our food. Our drinks were comped so that was good at least. Needless to say we won't be returning.
