I had a coupon for me and a plus one to have a reserved seat for free at the Dell Diamond, and I wanted to take advantage of it. I convinced my buddy to go with me to an opening series game where the Round Rock Express faced the Gwinnett Stripers. We agreed to go on a Wednesday to get our dollar hot dog night on. You know how that goes. Of course, going to every sporting event feels like they are going to nickel and dime you. It's $15 for parking, so if you can carpool, I'd highly recommend it. Beers range from $12 for domestic to $14 for craft. Everything is pricey. The hot dogs still remained $2 the whole night. Selfishly, I ate 5 over the nine innings. I didn't eat much through the day, and a decent ballpark dog was calling my name. As for the actual game, it was over by the second inning. The night was very windy, so no balls had a chance to go yard. The Stripers scored 6 runs at the top of the 2nd and it was 7 scoreless innings for the Express. Ay caramba. The nice gentleman in front of us was at the game with his wife and gave us good conversation. We watched kids rabid for the flying foul balls. Sometimes the game isn't even the most entertaining part because the stadium has a story of its own. The hot dogs were very nice. At a dollar, they could be lukewarm, soggy, and wrinkled, but they were dense, flavorful, and actually pretty good. Sometimes I wonder if dollar dogs are cheaper and they probably are, but you couldn't fool me. They weren't jumbo quarter-pound dogs by any means, but they were a normal quality-sized wiener. I drank a draft of the Love Street Blonde, one of my favorite common craft beverages, and got a can of Michelob Ultra from a very nice hawker that I obviously tipped. I just don't really like Michelob Ultra, I realize. I took a stroll through the Dell Diamond before leaving and there's a lot of cool spots from their yard in the back, which is great for just relaxing during the game, though the view isn't the most ideal for the action (great for bombs though). There's a full bar as well with baseball simulators and TVs showing other games, but if I'm paying money to park and watch a game, maybe that's not the move IMO. Regardless of the Express getting rocked by the Stripers, I had a great time and want to return to more Express games this season. As a young adult, the deals on weekdays are too good to pass up. Thursday might be a move in the future for those $4 domestics, $7 drafts, and cheaper food options around the park. Maybe next time the Express will get more runs than hot dogs I ate. In just the one week camp, the littles learned a whole little dance routine that they performed for us at the end of the week and my daughter had SO much fun! We did their summer mini sessions there till Fall and I cannot express enough how happy we are at DE! All of the teachers are so amazing and so welcoming. I do wish the recital procedure was better. We had quite the ordeal. The information could easily be laid out in one email or one flyer, sent with attachments for allotted tickets, rosters of kids in individual classes and times of shows and simple bullet instructions for the day of the performance, but it's pretty jumbled in our opinions--lots of papers, lots of emails, disorganized rosters that can entirely mislead you. It just seems more chaotic than it needs to be for a simple recital for children. But, as I said, over all, my kids had a nice time. We are sorry that we can't stay for more classes.

Making the chairs produce some annoying, distant sound doesn't stop "squatters" because they don't know that they're the reason for the incessant beeping! The shrill beeps seem like they're coming from somewhere far away, so when I sat in one of the chairs, another customer (NOT even an employee) was forced to graciously inform me that, to make the beeping stop, I had to pay for a massage, or move away. I was mortified, as well as infuriated that Urban Air didn't bother to post signs with this basic information. From then on, for at least 50% of every trip to Urban Air, I've heard the stupid, continuous beeping. Each time I look over to find the culprit, I see the noise pollution is caused by oblivious parents scrolling away on their phones, as they luxuriate in the comfort of these ill-designed chairs. The chairs keep screeching their obnoxious and passive-aggressive rejection of "free rides" for patrons, meanwhile failing to inform them of desired course of action. God, it makes this place a living h*ll... 2) PROVIDE MORE OUTLETS for working and non-working parents alike, who need to charge devices. The location that my children force me to frequent provides ONE outlet, under a booth table. If you don't snag the booth, forget your charging needs! Listen: No one wants to sit for 2-3 hours with a dying device, unable to their check email. If you don't bring a fully charged device, you can expect it to die sometime during the visit. There should be outlets next to each seating area along the walls. The answer is insanely simple -- if you want parents who are willing to bring their kids to Urban Air, make the parents happy.

Kids Birthday Party review! We've been two times now, this…read morelast time we hosted a birthday party there for 25 kids ages 7-11. It was so easy, we had someone who helped run the party super smooth and was ahead of us on everything including cake and clean up. All of the kids had a total blast!!! The best part was no one in our group had ever been there and that's what my little wanted. She wanted a birthday party place she has never been to a party before and we sure found it. The kids favorite parts were the hologram game rooms after the walkthrough experience and of course the arcade. The loved the walk through part but many got "bored" during the 3rd pass through but most of the other kids were really still enjoying it. So many parents were like how did you find this place? Hoping many more people do to keep it alive. Oooo and coolest part was the super imposed the birthday girl into the 3-D display by the party tables. That was a huge hit!!! Once the headsets were on, it didn't take long to get pulled into the game. I found myself ducking, leaning and more than once telling my husband to be careful about getting so close to the edge of a drop off. We were all laughing and talking about it afterward. Before you start, they have free lockers where you can leave your purse or anything else you don't want to carry while playing. This is such a great bonus! The wonderful staff members explained everything before we got started and made sure we knew how to use the equipment. It was easy to follow along, even for us first timers. I get motion sickness easily and after about thirty minutes I started feeling like it might happen so I just lifted my headset and reminded myself that I'm just in a big blank room and that helped. My only complaint is that management should make sure the pathways for disabled people are not being blocked by signage. If you're looking for something different to do, I'd definitely recommend ZooCade. We all had a great time, and I'm ready to go back and try one of the other adventures.
