I've visited Westside Donuts & Croissants twice within the past week! Each time I bought two dozen for my office staff and they went quickly. The donuts are light and delicious without being too sweet and the bear claws and cinnamon rolls are huge! My favorite is anything with chocolate. It's an old school donut shop without all the frills and over-the-top donuts, which makes it the perfect place for donuts. I arrived this week just before 8am and they were already just about sold out, so be sure to go early. I'm already planning my next visit. read more

Love this place! My go to spot on the mornings I pick up donuts for the office. Owners are super friendly, and the donuts area soft and DELICIOUS! My favorites are the old fashioned and buttermilk bars - just the right amount of crunch on the outside and softness in the inside. They also sell coffee and other drinks. They are very nice and friendly people! I love supporting mom and pop donut shops. I came in on a Sunday morning at 6 AM. There were all walks of life coming in here. My kind of place! I asked for recommendations for donuts and was told glazed and the cream donuts. I opted for a glazed donut. It was nice and soft. It was sweet, but not overly sweet. The sweetness level was what I expected for a glazed donut. I would get it again when I'm in the mood for a glazed donut. I got a Ham, Cheese and Jalapeño Croissant. I asked for them to warm it up. They popped it in the microwave for a few seconds. It was nice and soft with perfect warmness. The cheese and ham was spread out a bit, but the vast majority of the ham and cheese was in the middle of the croissant. The Jalapeños were spread out evenly in the croissant. The prices were fair and the service was efficient and good. The quality of the food was a 3.5. I think a 3 is too low for a score. A 4 seems like the right call. I give a 4/5. read more

i love this place! i always go super late at night and the donuts are so so so delicious!

Very friendly owner, seems to get a lot of regulars. I've come here to get a quick dozen or half dozen for clients multiple times. Lots of classic favorites to select from! I've also tried the ham croissant sandwich combo, which comes with a donut and coffee. The sandwich was delicious and actually bigger than I expected - definitely will be grabbing breakfast here sometimes. This parking lot can be annoying but usually goes smoothly when I'm here in the morning. read more

perfectly pleasant staff. I think the donuts are good and homemade. I tried a cake, cinnamon donut. i'm about 99% sure that the croissant that I had - raspberry-was from Costco or something similar. it tasted like concentrated sadness and chemicals. The cappuccino was from a "cappacinno" machine . The kind that You would see at 7- 11 , or in a hospital. Prices were low. You get what you pay for. read more

Omg the ham and cheese croissant!!! Forst and foremost...delicious, soft, moist, great filling...it is everything you want in a ham and cheese croissant and for $4.50 it was every penny's worth!! Also added a half dozen assorted donuts which came out to around $10. They accept cards which is a huge plus, and their donuts were just as delicious as the croissant. Definetly a great little donut shop with fresh yummy items. The ambiance is typical, not much indoor seating, just a walk up counter and a small bistro table to sit and wait for a sandwich or for your croissant to be heated up. read more

Westside Donuts is my favorite mom and pop donut shop on the west side. Although I enjoy fancy specialty donuts, sometimes I want a nice, simple donut without all the frills. They serve the type of donuts from my childhood that I'm nostalgic for from time to time. The glazed twists are always pillowy soft and very fresh. The apple fritters are perfectly fried with a nice, crispy outside shell and fluffy inside. Overall, they make great donuts at a great price. The mocha cappuccino costs $2.65 and tastes delicious (even though it's dispensed by the machine). Since I've been fasting - I have a peculiar sense of taste. I can literally taste the chocolate in the MOKKAP (short for mocha cappuccino - that I just made up) Definitely get the MOKKAP here it's reaally good. This donut shop is a no frills shop. They have all the basic donuts you can expect. I've got a dozen here for work. My favorites are the crumb glaze and the regular glaze. My only complaint is they are quite pricey. It was close to $20.00 for a dozen, and I didn't order any specialty donuts. Another drawback is that there seems to be a transient issue. There was a gentleman in the parking lot asking for money, when I politely declined, he asked for coffee. If I wasn't using my boss's card, I would have obliged. read more

Nice little mom and pop donut shop. These donuts are perfect and exactly how I like them. Some places have really thick donuts - not my fave. I got a chocolate bar that was perfectly made it almost melted in my mouth. I also tried cinnamon roll covered in crumbs. Huge! Really good too. read more

This is your standard no-frills, mom & pop donut shop with the price to reflect it. SO nice to have the option on the west side when you don't want to pay $3-4 for a simple (but good) donut and not settle for a crappy gas station one. FYI - it is located in a tiny strip mall next to a 7/11 which may have some sketchy people sometimes and parking is small. Call it part of the charm, hah! I've gotten their ham & cheese croissant as well, and it's solid. I always wish there was more filling but that's everywhere for me. I even actually placed a bulk order for my wedding dessert table. This place is so reliable and solid. With many spots trying to make the next greatest invention, Westside donuts is a humble place that just delivers extremely satisfying food and coffee every time I visit. First, their donuts are great, of course. I've had their glazed and their cinnamon roll donut, with the latter being especially good. I get coffee every time and it's exactly what I'd want from a donut shop - the right level of strength, not burnt, and always hot. And lastly, the thing I actually get the most are their bagel breakfast sandwiches. Damn, they're so satisfying even though they're simple. Egg is salted perfectly. They're tasty without being oily. I recommend the onion bagel egg and cheese with bacon. I also tried the turkey bacon, but thought that was a step down. Great owners, too. They talk to the people that want to talk and let the people who are just trying to go in and out get their food at their pace. Great mom & pop donut shop on the West side. I used to live near the Sawtelle area and for some reason the shop always seemed closed when I tried to visit, but it was because I would go in the late afternoon or evening. I saw that they open super early (around 12:30am) and bake donuts fresh. Try to go in the morning or before lunch time for the best selection. The donut shop is located in a small strip mall where 7-11 is located. As an FYI, there is free parking but it can be a bit tight and there tends to be a lot of homeless people in this plaza. read more

Disclosure: I've only had their bagels and jalapeño, ham &cheese croissant here. Their bagels are good, but nothing amazing. At $1.25 though, they're a great price. Limited 4 bagel options: plain, onion, sesame, and everything. The jalapeño, ham & cheese croissant is delicious warmed up and quite a large croissant, but the ham, cheese, and jalapeño are rolled up in the middle so it's not evenly distributed throughout the croissant. This would be a bigger bummer if the croissant bread wasn't so delicious, haha. Overall good but not amazing. I LOVE though that this place opens so early. I go to no few doughnut places around this area since they're easy and (relatively) cheap to ply coworkers with and instill a little good will when necessary. I feel like I've seen what the area has to offer and I'm able to say with confidence that this place has my favorite doughnuts. Light and fluffy with a little bit of chew. That's their perfect plain glazed doughnut, as soft as Krispy Kreme's but substantial enough that it resembles traditional doughnut shop options. I didn't get a chance to try any others -- they were gone before I could. Also, the people working there are just... simply lovely. So kind and accommodating. I got settled into my new apartment in Brentwood Glen and stopped by early in the morning with my bf after a medical appointment for a bagel sandwich and a donut. I think I've found my go-to mom-and-pop donut shop for a breakfast sandwich/donut fix! We got some kind of cinnamon bun with nuts which was pillowy and fresh (I only had the appetite for a bite), and the sandwich was one of those I-could've-made-it-myself-sandwiches-but-tastes-so-much-better-from-a-cozy-bagel/donut-shop-kinds.
