Purchased my car here and was impressed with the sales. This is where it stops. I recently needed to bring my car in for a recall. I called to set up an appointment. Spoke to a woman who took my information and said I would get a call back. Cam back went to voicemail so I had to start from scratch. Next woman looks at schedule and gives me a date 2 weeks out. Also started that they would need to have the car for 8 hours. Absolutely unflexible. Car went to Fort Bend Kia that same week. Work was done in 1 hour. Will not use Westside ever again. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible The guy at the front desk was a bit curt when I told him I hadn't made an appointment for my oil change. He informed me that it would be a rather long wait and that I should've made an appointment. Okay, my bad, but I don't understand why he was the one disgruntled since I'm the one who had to wait 5.5 hrs and counting. I didn't make an appointment bc I didn't know when in the day I'd be free but whatever. I was given the choice to come back another day but I'm leaving for college on Sunday and don't have the time. Pros: told me about pricing when I came in. There is a clean waiting area, wifi, and free coffee. Also vending machines. They also wash your car as part of service Confused: I was told about 20-30 mins in that my car had 2 recalls(?) and was recommended to have those addressed. That's fine but it would've been nice to have what those were explained; pricing too. I expect we'll see once they finish up. Told me it would take 2 hrs but it's been more than that. Cons: waiting 5.5 hrs for an oil change+ other workZ Pls do not give me an estimated time if it's gonna be way off. Or let me know it it's taking longer than expected. Also it would be nice if ppl would come in periodically and tell u how much longer it'll be. Was told "it'll be a short while more" 4 hrs into waiting, only when i got up to get coffee. I've read the reviews from others and find myself in the same sinking boat. I tried to make an appointment to get my oil changed and was told it would be in five days. When I questioned it I was snapped at saying "like I said, the next available appointment was next Tuesday." No effort to even attempt courtesy, just rudeness. Didn't try and explain the back log-- just rudeness. I told her she was very rude and just got a long silence in response. With all the bad reviews, I would think the management would work on their customer service. I guess they just don't care. My review is about auto service, and not sales. First, I have to start by saying I initially made an appointment at Joe Myers Kia - which told me they couldn't schedule me for three weeks. The next day (on a Saturday afternoon) I called Westside Kia, and they said they could schedule me for Wednesday. Thus, I accelerated my service by more than two weeks. As for the service itself, it was for a manufacturer recall to replace a faulty power steering coupling component, which was causing my steering to make clicking noises. Again, going back to Joe Myers, I was told my car would have to be left overnight since the job took more than a day. But Westside Kia said they could get it done in one day. Thus, I had a faster turnaround. Ultimately, they scheduled me for 10 a.m. at Westside Kia, but got there at 8:30. Guess what? They got my car in right away - and less than four hours later, they called to say my car was ready. Joe Myers may get a lot of business that causes a backup. But if you want your car done faster, go to Westside Kia. Friendly people there; Lauren (?) was my contact there, and she was professional and accommodating. The only one negative - and I fully understand they're trying to generate business - was that she called after I dropped off my car to upsell me for some pricey additional work I didn't request. There was no sales pressure, but simply just to check if I wanted the additional service (i.e., oil change, tire balance and rotation, new cabin filter, courtesy check, etc.). I politely declined, stating I get these things done elsewhere. And despite me declining the extra service, when I came to pick up my car, it had been washed with the interior cleaned. Took my car in for warranty replacement of the alternator. I had gone to another Kia dealership and they confirmed, along with another auto place that the alternator was bad. The other dealership had to order the replacement part so i came to WS Kia to see if it could be replaced the same day so that I could use my car for work. The service rep was rude and dismissive, even noticeably so to the lady waiting behind me, as she openly and freely stated on her own. When I told him why I was there, he immediately told me that it wasn't the alternator and said they didn't have any in stock. How he knew this without looking at my car or checking their inventory, i do not know. After I jusr stared at him and him questioning where i bought the car, (WS Kia), he decided he would go check his inventory and was able to confirm that they indeed had an alternator in stock. He was then very adamant to me and my husband that it was not the alternator and if he ran diagnostics and it wasn't the alternator, that it would be a 165.00 charge, because "it was not free!". Given the information and 2 prior diagnostic printouts that we already had, we were confident that it was the indeed alternator and not the year old battery. I, however, felt something wasn't right the way he was insisting, almost promising, that it would not be the alternator, but my husband agreed to go ahead with it, just so that we could get the service completed that day. Sure enough, they call back and say it's the battery, not the alternator, so no warranty coverage, and it would be 180.00 charge. Of course the battery is week now! The alternator has been slow charging it for several weeks. What a crook! I will NEVER buy another vehicle from them, nor will I be getting my car serviced here. Prepandemic, I used to get my oil changes done at this location and the old service rep was always courteous, but never again! read more

I recently came here to test drive a Kia Soul and came away thoroughly disappointed. Before you come here, shop online and not just in Houston - look at Tomball, Rosenberg and Baytown dealerships. One thing I noticed is that they get the keys to the car you want and pull it up front for you. Many would think that doing this is really great service, but I realized why on a later visit on a Sunday. The sales guy was very much a typical car salesman. When I explained that I wanted a manual transmission, he pestered me about it and why I didn't want an automatic. Why would he do this? Because there was only one manual on the lot at the time and it wasn't a "+" trim, just the basic. So I mentioned them possibly obtaining my car from an outlying dealer if I found the one I wanted online. He said this was possible, but that dealers don't trade cars unless they know for a fact that the one they are giving away will sell - which I have been told is a lie by many sales guys since this. Also, my current car was shipped to the local dealer from Lake Charles and I chose to buy it AFTER I saw it and test drove it! On this day, I had went to the dealership in my husband's 2012 Chevy Sonic that he had purchased some 4 months earlier. So the sales guy sees this and asks how much we paid for it. I tell him and he says he could have gotten us into a Kia Rio for less than that. I'm not sure what the point of that was since my husband wasn't even with me. All it did was piss me off! I told him that my husband wanted what he wanted and he still tried to argue with me and tell me that he could make my husband a better deal. So obviously, he didn't care about selling me a car or he wouldn't have went on like this! As I got out of the base model Soul (MSRP of about $13k) I noticed the sticker price was about $19K!!! What a joke! And the last thing? This goes back to them getting the keys for you and pulling the car around. I was at the Academy Sports on a Sunday and decided to walk over and look at their stock of Souls. In doing so, I can see why they don't want the customers walking between their cars and comparing stickers. Two cars- exact same color and trim - but one will have VIN etching for the windows listed at about $1700 and the other will have it listed as being $800. Both are too high for VIN etching - you can do it yourself, but on my Toyota it was $200. There were other vaguely named fees listed as well. This dealership's slogan should be "We put the 'shock' in 'Sticker shock"! I think they are doing this knowing that the buyer will haggle, but for me it just demonstrates that there is no trust to be had there and I don't want to make a major purchase from obvious scam artists! read more

Great customer service. Alex was a pleasurable salesman with a great knowledge of the vehicles we purchased; that's right, VEHICLES. We arrived to purchase a new Optima for our son who Is off to college and wound up leaving with that Optima as well as a 2020 Telluride. Great vehicles! BEWARE WESTSIDE KIA BAD BUSINESS Purchase a Kia Sedona mini van from the dealership new the stereo went out 5 months later brought it in for replacement. They damaged my dashboard by using a square screw driver to remove radio bezel 6000.00 dollars to replace the whole dash. We traded the car in for a Stinger. We purchased a kia forte Gt and then a Kia seltos they didn't tell us about the transmission problem they were having from the factory so we only kept it for a few months and sold it. I've purchased about 145,000 dollars worth of car from them recently I was going to purchase two more car from them but the GM Caitlin Auffenberg was rude and disrespectful I got an offer from another dealer they offer me 22k and Kia offered me 17k before I could say I was going to sell the car to the other dealer she replied sell it to them then we are not going to give you that much we are here to make money. I replied well I'm going to take my business elsewhere she said well do that then. Wow what great customer service you would think someone who spend 145k at there dealership would get a little more respect. Come to find out either her dad or husband owns the dealership so they don't care who they screw over Kia corporate can't help the little man because it's a independently owned dealership. Took my Kia Optima in to Westside Kia for first time. I usually take my car in for oil change to others. But, I decided to take it in to Westside for service on steering wheel. It was making clicking noises. So glad I took my car in. A few things were done th as t recalls took care of. Steering wheel problem was one of the recalls. Only thing I needed to pay for was front brakes which I knew needed to be replaced. Price of brakes along with resurfacing rotors was very reasonable. As a plus, they washed my car too. read more

I have bought 3 optimal from Weatside Kia. The sales/finance manager Rick is the best at getting you financed. Unbelievable actually. Then Kevin in the service department is equally amazing. I have my cars serviced here in the service department and they always have a coupon with fast friendly honest service. I have not had to have anything done except maintenance like tire rotation and oil changes. Except this morning, I felt some "cutting out" at the red light. But never fear Mark the service manager had me come in straight away thanks to Jodi the service appointment scheduler. She went beyond and together with Mark they got me in right away. This place is the worst. They don't negotiate on price. I've given them opportunities to sell me a car twice and both times Joe Myers and Demontrond blew them out of the water on price. If you want to pay sticker price, or cannot drive a few miles across town, this is the place for you. Their website advertises that they sell parts/accessories at wholesale price. The guy on the phone said that's for corporate customers. I didn't see this disclaimer on their website. I told him this a couple of times to which he claimed that was another dealer's website, and that it's not the same. False, I read this directly on Westside Kia's web page. They provided no real explanation as to why the variance. However, with a 30% markup in price I'm not interested. I would not recommend this dealership on the sales side and quite frankly wonder how they do business. I've had great experiences at Demontrond Kia with Todd Richards. He's low key, reasonable, honest and easy-going. Make the drive north of town, it's worth it. read more

Took our 2013 #Kia Optima in for Drivers side power window failure & flashing brake light (after Engine recall....) and came out with broken passenger side window with access panel left open and greasy hand marks on interior door panel. When voiced concerns to service Manager (Mark Adler) he never responded to voicemails. Called Fernando Ortiz who relayed our concerns to the manager and he called stating GM left it to the Service Managers discretion and he is not going to fix it! We will be driving way past WestSide Kia from now on. I never gave authorization to touch the right side and now we are out of pocket for repairs we never had problems with. I'm writing this in regards to their auto service and not sales. I spoke with a rep online about needing to get my car serviced. They took my information and told me that someone would contact me soon. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't like the word "soon" as can cover a wide range of times. I asked again for when I could expect a phone call from someone and could not get a more detailed answer. I received a phone call two days later - I missed this call and they left me a voice message that said their earliest appointment was in the afternoon on Nov. 14 the following week. I did not have a chance to call them back and honestly, I got too busy to remember to call them back; however, I got a call the day before on Nov. 13 saying that I had an appointment the next day. While maybe some would appreciate this, I did not appreciate having an appointment booked for me which I never confirmed. I called the dealership and was able to work out a better time and date. I was going to bring it in on Nov. 15 at 7:30 AM. The rep on the phone made sure to warn me to get there early since the shuttle may not be available when I get there and that I will have to wait - max. 10-15 min for it to get back. I made sure to get their promptly at 7:30 AM so that I had time to wait for the shuttle and still get to work on time. (My office is just 5 minutes away from the dealership). When I got in at 7:30 AM, I was told the shuttle would be there in 30 minutes...this was a lot longer than I had anticipated, but I would have still made it to work before 8:30 AM, so I wasn't too worried. I waited almost another 30 minutes and asked again when the shuttle would be back as I had been waiting for an hour. The shuttle was called, again, and I was told it would be 15 more minutes. After another 5 minutes, I went to talk to a manager about the situation, because now they were encroaching on my time. I am a paying customer, I made sure to get their early because of this shuttle situation and I still didn't get to work until after 9 AM. The manager was apologetic and said that the shuttle was for both car dealerships there which is why they have a time lag, but he obviously wasn't going to do anything about the issue and the shuttle happened to show up when we were talking. I was told the service for my car should take a max. 1h30min. Auto service begins at 8 AM and I wasn't called until 10:30 AM to tell me that my car was ready. If I had known that the shuttle was going to be so delayed, then I could have made other arrangements to get to work, but having to wait over an hour for a shuttle is unacceptable especially when I'm getting there early because I know of the issue with the shuttle. I also had a coupon for $20 off my service, which was not reflected in my bill. I did get the $20 off, but in my itemized receipt it does not show this. I also asked for a small tube of touch up paint, which I've never been charged for in the past, but they were going to charge me for it AND they didn't have it in stock. My vehicle has a great warranty and I had an excellent salesman when I bought my car, but if this is the service quality that I get when I bring my car in then I will not be buying Kias in the future. read more

My Soul is at the Kia dealer for the third time for the same problem -- very rough downshifting when braking. On the first visit, I was told that they couldn't identify the problem. The second trip to the shop resulted in a new transmission. The problem has continued, however, resulting in trip #3. I received a phone call today and was told that "the official position of the dealership is that there is no problem." Really? The car no longer feels safe. The way it feels now is markedly different from the way it was several months ago. It seems to me that you have already acknowledged that there is a problem, after all, replacing a transmission does not come cheap. I do not feel safe in the car. It is not "right", and it is definitely not fixed. How about you let your child or your wife drive a car that you feel is unsafe. That is the message you are sending to me. read more

Bait and Switch tactic. Went through Truecar, got a quote for a Telluride, I called immediately and they said it was just sold. Then I questioned how they could possible sell a car that fast; they transfered me to the internet sales where the guy says actually, it's still available because the guy who was going to buy it had to back out. So I went through the application process, only to find out they sent a price that was $4000 higher than the original quote on the same stock number. I called them on it, and they said they didn't really send out the first quote... and that the 2nd quote was the real quote. That's a definition of bait and switch. My ac went out in my 2015 Kia Optima last week. I called an made an appointment at the service department and had an appointment this morning. I have had my car only one year with 35K miles on it. After the service department looked over my car they stated that my ac repair was not covered under the warranty. Now for a reminder, Kia has a 60K bumper to bumper warranty! I was told that a rock had put a hole in my ac condenser and that the part and labor would not be covered under my warranty. The part cost $575 and labor would run me over $500 +. I told them not to do the repairs, and I would pick my car up. I was then informed that I would have to pay $150 fee to the service department for looking over my car, which again is under warranty. When I went back to pick up my car my son took me back to the dealership. I informed the service clerk I was not going to pay the $150 fee because my car is under warranty. We asked for the General Manager, and instead they called in the Service Director, Mark Alder. Mr. Alder informed us that the ac condenser would not be covered under the warranty, because I has a car owner had damaged my own car!! Imagine that, I damaged my own ac so that I could drive around Houston in this weather with no cold ac!! The service department REFUSED to show me the hole and the damage that was made by the rock. Funny how you are blaming my repairs on a rock, but won't prove it to the customer!! The service department is very unprofessional along with the management at Westside Kia. They will not honor their warranties has I found out today. Even the General Manager would not come out to what all the ruckus was about with his employees yelling at a customer. Very unprofessional dealership in all areas of management. I called the corporate office for KIA after we left the dealership and got nothing but apologies from the corporate customer service department. I am still waiting on a phone call back from the corporate office. Needless to say, I will be trading my car in for another car maker. Business's need to understand when they warranty their products, they need to stand up and do the correct thing! Take care of your customers, because we can make or break your business!
