As a customer/ ex employee I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone not to work at or to have your vehicle serviced at, they use cheap parts not even from the dealership but from auto parts store and say they are quality parts, over priced and poor work, this place has the worst turn around in employees this guy can't keep employees! So if you wanna get ripped off or talked to like you're an animal or a child go. I truly do not know how this place has been in business so long and how it has such high ratings. Yesterday I tempted fate because on the last time I'd been out of the house to drive anywhere -- a week ago or more -- my car's dashboard electrical system warning light had come on. I was hoping it was just a dying battery, since I have jumper cables, and that I could get this errand completed even if I had to beg a jump-start from some stranger. Alas, it was not the battery, but the alternator, which had failed -- meaning no more juice was going into the battery, and my car therefore went completely dead about 10 minutes from my destination. But I coasted to a stop -- with the engine dead, no power steering, no dashboard lights at all -- into the parking lot of Deerfield Auto Repair & Kwik Kar. Owner Joe Fallin and his capable staff promptly diagnosed my problem and gave me a fair estimate. They replaced my alternator and battery both (never keep an old battery with a new alternator!) within the estimated time, about three hours, and hosted me in the meantime in a clean and well-appointed waiting room (easy to maintain pandemic-driven social distancing). Such a great experience at Deerfield Auto Repair Kwik Kar. This was my first visit here to complete a safety inspection to renew the registration for my car. I was assisted by Joseph and Jackie who where wonderful. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. I went on a Friday afternoon around 1 PM and was in and out in less than 30 mins! They're some real conmen working here, i had to replace a emission sensor and they said $350 to replace. The part is only $26 for less than 5 minutes of work. They even told me that it would take 1.5 hours to fix to make it seem like they were doing something. I told them $350 is too high and that I'm good, i don't need them to fix it. Mechanic came back and said he spoke to the owner and dropped the price to $270. They became very pushy to let them fix the part but hell no I'll never go back there, and i hope you'll be smart to not go there either. In the end i bought the part at Auto zone and did it myself. Got my car inspected by Lesli and it failed at first but I was able to purchase the windshield wipers right there and pass the inspection right away. I don't think he was trying to fool me (a genuine concern as a woman in an auto shop) since I knew my wipers were quite old and torn up. He was friendly and provided quick service. I went for an inspection and was very disappointed when they took out an old used filter and told me that mine needed a change even though last week I had my dad change oil and filter. I couldn't confirm with my dad at the moment but I told them and they were like well you're seeing it and it wasn't mine because I watched the fat Hispanic guy consult the black guy. They got the best of me, I get times are tough but for me too. I'm changing my sticker cause I have to not because I'm filthy rich. My old place was closed so I went here but u had reserve. This auto repair and service shop is pricy. I requested some diagnostics on my Ford pickup and $275 later they wanted $3,800 to put in a fuel pump and new catalytic converter. I said no and began my quest for a more reasonable quote. I found a replacement fuel pump for under $75. They quoted me $550 for the pump. The catalytic converter kit I found was $125. They wanted 3 times that. Their parts markup is excessive and labor rates high. If you want an oil change they are just ok but still high. Stay away from this shop if you are on a budget. read more

After going here since they opened, today was my last visit! I have taken my 4 cars for oil changes, inspections, brake jobs, power window repairs, etc. Today I asked for an estimate to replace door lock actuators which I felt was high. When I said that, I was informed that "well you always think our prices are too high (which they are!)" and then he said " go buy that $40 part at O'Reilly's and good luck with that!!!". I was speechless and could not belie his response! Apparently, Joe doesn't need customers who have been coming to him since he opened. Just to cite facts...a rear main seal job he quoted for $850, was quoted to me by a highly recommended transmission specialist for $650! Shop around. I'm done and I'm finished going to this place. UPDATE: Okay so here's an update --- after about a year or so, I received a call from the owner apologizing for this incident. That's something that doesn't happen everyday so I decided to give them another try and now believe that perhaps I should write this off to "having a bad day". I've had those too. Joe is a sincere guy and I am now a customer once again. The place I had gone to instead was honestly not as clean and orderly as this shop. Give them a try, I think you will go back. NOTE: Joe should instruct his inspection guy to not put greasy hand prints all over people's black cars and to wash the oil off his hands before touching my steering wheel! While some of the mechanics we've worked with over the years may not have been perfect, Joe has always gone the distance to make things right. I've had no problems in recent years as the mechanics have been polite, helpful, and professional. Earlier this week, I took my car in for an oil change and found that they'd left it cleaner than they'd found it, complete with a vacuuming! I have been a costumer for several years and I have always returned because of the customer service and efficiency. I am a woman and unfortunately, I do not know a great deal about cars that why I pay a service/person to take care of something I have no knowledge of, and I am 100% ok with that. During a visit, I required more than a simple oil change and I asked the guy (Brandon if I'm not mistaken) if they did more than an oil change and he made it a point to turn around and look at the name of the company. He smirked and in a condescending way, he told me yes. It was degrading, belittling, and I was humiliated. There is no wrong question. I am in the medical field, people ask questions all the time, my job is to help them out in the best way because that's what they are paying me for. Well? Where do I start? First of all the reason this place overcharges on everything is probably to have more money to pay yelp to take down all the bad reviews! 0 stars would be generous for this establishment...Went in for an oil change with 1 other car there so anyone in their right mind would think in and out in an hour tops, nope. 3 hours later the man who I assume is the owner said they were going their fastest even though I had witnessed the guy changing the oil on his cell phone talking, then texting, then eating lunch it was bizarre. Kwik is purposefully wrong cause this place would be sued if they actually used the word "Quick" I wasn't going to even write a bad review until I took it to an actual oil change shop and when they came back and showed me what the oil filter looked like covered in gunk and not properly attached I was pissed at myself for not listening to gut and bolting out of here. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place like seeing the grim reaper cause they will be the death of your automobile!! read more

I was told that brake fluid flush is $89.00. But when Ir was done, I become $99.00. It turned out the $89.00 is all labor, then plus 8.99 for the fluid. I think it was misleading the customer. Not happy with this place, I went in for A/C repair which turn into a complete replacement of all components, the system work ok for about a year then started to fall apart at which the manager/owner wanted another $1,650 to repair the system. I would not recommend this place for automotive. service particularly A/C service. read more

I went in for vehicle inspection which was done in a timely fashion. The tech pointed out services I should consider (he was doing his job)and I had to have a rear tail lamp bulb replaced, took approx 10 minutes, labor and bulb $28.00 (bulb is a $2.00 bulb at Auto Zone). My family fleet has been using this oil change & repair shop since it opened. One owner the entire time, great family. We have always been treated fairly and courteously even when delivering bad news. I keep my cars until they have at least 250,000 miles on them. So proper maintenance is important to me. Every time I have needed a previous repair reworked the warranty has been honored. Joe is a great owner and Glenn is a great mechanic. Also, Joe does everything he can to hire and keep great staff. As any business owner will tell you, sometimes you get a bad apple. Joe gives a man a chance but will not keep a bad one on the payroll. Go in and talk to him and see how clean the shop is and how promptly the whole crew will take care of you. They always help me keep up with the scheduled maintenance, but will take no for an answer! They keep great records and help me decide when I need to have preventative work done. read more

It's so refreshing to find a shop run by honest decent people where I don't feel pressured and ripped off. If anything, I feel like I get more than my money's worth here. Staff is friendly and always willing to take time and explain repairs in layman language. The owner is usually around and likes taking care of customers personally. The last time I brought my Expedition here, the owner met me at the door and remembered what repair we did before, asked if everything was still working right, remembered what service he recommended before and made me a special deal including some routine maintenance I was going to need anyway. Called in to make sure that they could change my oil and gave them all the info on my truck. The manager I was talking to on the phone then asked for my plate numbers so he could cross reference the engine size. OK no problem, the guy just wants to be sure. Gold star for now... comes back and tells me the price of 80 bucks with filter included. With all the checking I figured this was going to be my new place to get my oil changed. Go in that Saturday to get the service done. They pull my truck in and start draining the oil, and I go into the waiting room. I then hear them asking each other about the oil filter. The manager comes in and tells me that they don't carry my trucks filter and that the cost is going to be more than twice the cost and that they would have to order the filter from another store. Not a happy camper. I asked why I was told differently over the phone and first I was told that I called a different store, and then that he looked up the wrong engine size. I asked how could he get the wrong size when I gave him the correct info AND he looked up the plate number to cross reference? Tells me I never gave him the plate number. When I corrected him in front of another customer, then he tells me that I DID give him the number but the computer showed the wrong engine info. Ended up paying about 160 bucks after a "discount". Will never go here again and STRONGLY suggest you find somewhere else too. read more

I had been taking my car for oil changes here for years. No real complaints. Last time I took my car, I used a credit card that I rarely use. Had to dust it off. 3 days later after this visit, I received an alert on my phone and email for fraud alert. This card # was being used in Mexico at a women's store. Looked in my wallet and it was in my possession. Unfortunately, I know the fraud started there because I had not used this card in many, many months. All the transactions were declined because too many red flags and no paper trail....(airline tickets, rental cars, motel). Will not go there ever again. Who needs that type of hassel? read more

I went in for an inspection. They broke/damaged my hood / front hood chrome piece. It cost me $170 for a replacement piece, part only. No attempt was made to pay for replacement,. Rip off, totally unprofessional. They did cover the inspection fee but that was it. No contact afterwards. No follow up. Avoid this business. These guys are mechanics in training. read more

BEWARE....they are not honest. I would avoid this place at all costs. I had been here several times in the past and had great service. But, they changed owners and now they use deceptive tactics and due sub par work. last year I brought in my SUV for new battery, new altenator and went ahead and agreed to an oil & oil filter change and a brake fluid flush & change. over $900.00 dollars. When I picked up my vehicle, and started to drive home, it was running rough and smelled like burning oil. I turned right back around back to the shop. I was astonished that they handed me my keys to go home in the first place, with it running like that. As it hadn't been running like that before my altenator drained the battery. The owner assured me it was probably something loose and his mechanic had probably just over looked it. As I had just paid over $900 dollars I gave them another chance to fix my vehicle. $116 dollars later, they again said its running great and everything is fixed. NOPE, still running rough and smelling like burning oil. Well, if they do such sub par work that they handed me my keys back twice running like that.....I was NOT about to give them another chance.
