    Westside Lilo's coffee

How have I not been here before?! Our family lives in Vegas and has made a few trips to historic Route 66 but never to Westside Lilo's. That's all changed. We chose to stop here on our way to Sedona, AZ and were pleasantly surprised. As a family of four we rate this restaurant 16/20 strong (4 people * 5 stars). The Atmosphere: We loved that the restaurant is All-American good without also being exclusionary (iykyk). The decor is all wood paneling, carved tables, and comfortable chairs. The Food: We ordered Chicken Fried Steak platter, a 2-Egg Breakfast, and Pancakes. The food took a little longer than expected (25 minutes) but came out piping hot and fresh. The chicken fried steak and gravy had amazing flavor and texture and was seasoned well. The pancakes were done well with the right mix of flour to egg (often they're too fluffy or too dense). They also came with whipped butter that melted easily allowing the food to stay hot and maple syrup. The drawback was the seasoning and doneness of "Those Potatoes" (breakfast potatoes). The potatoes themselves were cut macedoine (tiny square) and were obviously baked rather than fried for time's sake, but lacked seasoning. The peppers and onions mixed in with them needed longer cooking time. This place is a great bit of Route 66 history which is celebrating 30 years this year and should not be missed. Order any of their breakfast items and expect to be met with fresh hot down-home goodness, but bring a little Johnny's seasoning in your purse.

CHICKEN FRIED STEAK. MOIST TENDER CRISPY AND DELICIOUS!!!

Along Old Highway 66 Lilo's is a gem. Set in the nostalgic moments of Highway 66 with a rustic interior decor. The Chicken Fried Steak was moist and tender with a crispy fried coating. Covered with a Country Gravy your Grandmother would be proud of. The staff was friendly, professional and attentive making us feel right at home. We highly recommend Westside Lilo's!!!

This is the western cheeseburger with cheddar cheese. Side salad instead of fries.

If you're traveling on historic route 66 through Seligman in Arizona, this is an excellent place to stop and dine. The food is excellent. The service is small town, friendly, and enthusiastic. They have incredible homemade desserts. There's plenty of parking. They have a gift shop too.

This is the $10 jumbo cinnamon roll! Enough to feed a family!

Great friendly service. Portions are very reasonable and seem to be on the larger side. Prices do not seem to be high. Lots of seating to include outdoor seating. Atmosphere is quiet as you are in a small town. I would definitely recommend and come here again!

Get off Interstate in Seligman. Real food and a friendly welcoming restaurant. Relax and enjoy all the history photos on the walls. Food is tasty, save room for homemade deserts.

We are heading home from Oklahoma after buying our new RV. On our fourth day of driving we wanted a good lunch spot. Looked them up on Yelp and decided to go. So glad we did! Very nice ladies running the place, restaurant is very clean and food was excellent! They also have a nice souvenir shop. Known for the carrot cake, we had to have one to go, looks delicious! We haven't tried it yet.

Stopped in here 4 years ago so I knew I had to come grab a piece of this cake as soon as we hit Seligman. It's not only big enough to share the waitress will instinctively bring you a to-go box. Great friendly staff.

The service was excellent. I didn't get her name but one of the ladies was super friendly and attentive. I order country fried steak, my wife had the schnitzel and her girlfriend had the French dip. The fries were fresh cut and flavorful. The schnitzel was so good that I was stealing bites. My dish was huge and it was great as well. The restaurant was clean and had a steady flow of people. I like that all the food is prepared in house-she said the schnitzel was pounded daily.

Breakfast for Dinner [Seligman AZ] We were hankering for a breakfast meal (at dinner time). At first we stopped at the Roadkill Cafe but they did not serve breakfast but was suggested by the waitress that the restaurant across the street did. We apologized and headed here at Westside Lilo's Cafe. The restaurant was not too busy and we were led to a table for two. I ordered Country Fried Steak while the hubby just wanted a bowl of the soup of the day which was Pozole. He really liked the soup! My Country Fried Steak was crispy, hearty and smothered in a rich, beefy creamy gravy and topped with fried eggs. Delicious! Wish we had room for their world-famous carrot cake (as advertised on the signage outside). The restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and customer service was excellent, nice and friendly, we were well taken care of. There is an attached gift shop, wish I had time to browse through the unique souvenirs and charming logoed items. We would love to return and dine here again... Review #3702

We stayed at the Supai motel that night and happened to try out this place since it had good ratings. The server was an old lady and she came in with so much energy and kept the vibe going. We all tried different burgers and sandwiches; the black bean burger was good, came with coleslaw. The waitress' recommendation for dessert was their Carrot cake which they call it "world famous". Initially we thought it was a joke but the cake was absolutely delicious. I don't eat sweets that are too sugary especially the ones with frosting but this one was perfect! Apparently, there was this popular chef who visited this place decades ago tried their carrot cake and termed it "World famous" and that's where it got the name from. The ambience was good and cozy and had lots of moose and elk head mount. It also has a store that sells souvenirs.

We planned to go to Delgadillo's. I'm SO GLAD they were closed! Lilo's is great. Super nice staff and delicious food. Maybe the best onion rings I've ever had in my life. If you plan on getting lunch in the area, I highly recommend stopping in here.

I ordered 2 cheeseburgers w/fries, chicken nuggets, 2 shake, a drink and an ice cream cone. It was paid at 1:08 pm. I noticed other customers who ordered after me have already received their food. I went to inquire and was told it was being wrapped up now. This was the 2nd time they told me the same information. I asked why the other orders after me was being sent out first. First excuse was it a small kitchen, then your order slip got mixed up. I think my order slip was not in the line up. After 7 minutes I went to inquire I received my food. Cheeseburger was salty, the sweet potatoes fries were burnt and salty. I felt this was done intentionally because I inquired about it loudly in front of other customers. I have 2 little ones that were hungry. After standing in line for 40 minutes and waiting an hour for our food AND to have the food salty! I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN! I shouldn't have tipped. Many places want the tips. Yet, their food and service doesn't justify the tip!

I asked for coffee and she handed me a menu and she asked if I knew what I wanted to eat. I said I needed some time to look at the menu and she frowned and walked away without saying a word. It was obvious she thought I was going to be there a while and didn't want me sitting at the table long. She returned with the coffee and said "You know if it gets busy...." leaving the sentence hanging. I replied I would leave if it did (the restaurant only had maybe 3 tables full at that point, by the time I left at 640 there were two tables empty). After eating the food, which was quite good, I promptly packed up and left as soon as I could 25 minutes after being seated. I walked down to Brewed Awakenings, got a coffee there and sat down at my computer to do some work. In a small restaurant I totally understand that you need to keep tables moving so there is not a wait, but there is a polite and subtle way to message to a patron that they need to move along so other folks can sit down. You can deliver the check early, ask if you are finished, ask if there is anything else you need. Ways to communicate to a patron that they need the table. This was certainly not it. I eat out often, I tip very well, but I have to say this is the first time I felt unwelcome and rushed at a place in a very, very long time. While the food was good, this was not the way to start off day 2 of my roadtrip. In today's economy, making your customers feel like they need to eat and run, and doing so in a rude way, is a master class in how to make your restaurant fail. I do not recommend this place.

The owners, Suzanne & Randy, have created a special dining experience in the heart of Verde Valley Wine Country. This hidden gem offers an eclectic menu that truly sets it apart from anything else in the area. To steal my wife's description, "Manzanita Restaurant is a culinary oasis in the middle of nowhere, where flavors collide, and memories are made." SERVICE: The staff is warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. It's obvious that they take pride in ensuring a memorable dining experience. We couldn't have felt more welcome or had better dining experiences on both visits. WINE: Manzanita has a decent selection of wines by the glass and bottle. It's not the largest, but there's something to pair with all dishes. Both times we had a fantastic bottle of Zinfandel from Geyserville, CA, which paired great with our meat entrées. The bottle price is very reasonable, as we used to be members of that winery and know what they charge. FOOD: Outstanding gourmet game specialties and German delights. We've tried several soups, sides, and main dishes and have enjoyed them all. Soups of the Day have ranged from Pumpkin Purée, Ostrich, to Manhattan Clam Chowder. Salads can be added as a side or as an entrée, including adding Chicken Breast or Grilled Salmon. We've also tried a couple appetizers like the Edamame & Roasted Brussel Sprouts In a ginger soy glaze with sesame seeds, and the French Escargot served in mushroom caps with garlic herb sauce. Main entrées we've tried include an Orange Roughy Special with red cabbage, a Manzanita Salad with Chicken Breast, Fried Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp, Bison Tenderloin with vegetable medley, Venison Medallions Special with a creamy mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes, Antelope Steak Special, and a Prime Rib Special. There's nothing I wouldn't hesitate to order again. I'm half German and love German cuisine, but amazingly I've yet to try anything from that part of the menu. They have a couple pasta dishes as well. The restaurant is not overly fancy or extremely modern, but it's slightly upscale, comfortable, and the food and service are both stellar. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a unique dining experience, this family restaurant won't disappoint. We can't wait for our next visit!
