Hello everyone. Unfortunately, they broke my radio unit--which was in perfect working order--and failed to repair it. Although the unit was fully functional before I handed it over to the service center, it was completely dead and broken when I received it back. No matter how much I objected, they refused to acknowledge the issue. I strongly condemn this company. Please, make sure to thoroughly inspect your vehicle before entrusting it to their service department; otherwise, they will hit you with exorbitant charges. I am a 20+ year customer of the Toyota dealership in North Olmsted (currently named Westside/formerly Sunnyside). Although my complaint today may seem trivial, I think it reflects the nature of the new business culture of this dealership. I scheduled an oil change and tire rotation based on a coupon received from Westside which I referenced to the scheduler. I signed in today and waited on site for the service. The invoice I was presented had a separate charge for the tire rotation. I pointed this out and was asked if I had the coupon. I did not and have it with me nor have I ever had it declined because I did not bring it. The apathetic service manager was not interested in addressing a long-time customer's issue. Car was dropped the night before for a 15,000 mile check up and recall. Around 5:00 the next evening I received a text telling me they didn't get to my car. Said I could have a rental. After spending over 30 mins there rental process wasn't completed. Took my vehicle home. 1 week later kept receiving text messages that my vehicle was ready for pickup ! I had my car serviced here. For the most part, they do a good job, however on my January 6, 2025, visit, I was charged for a service that was NOT performed and it is even noted on the invoice that it was NOT performed. I have contacted the advisor on January 11 and hear nothing so contacted the service manager on February 16 and again nothing. This is the 2nd time that I have had a problem with service - the first time I was informed that all 4 tire sensors were bad and I had all replaced. Again it was noted in paper work that only 2 were. I have had my car serviced at this location for years BUT once under new ownership, they take advantage of customers - making them think they have no choice. Today, after speaking with a representative last Saturday and confirming the coupon would be honored, today I am told that because of TEN CENTS I would not be able to save the $20 on an oil change and tire rotation. On top of which, now there is a 3% surcharge for credit cards. I don't carry cash, have a debit card nor do I use a checkbook. The service department never answers the phone. You leave a message and they never get back to you. I made an appointment three weeks ago for tomorrow to get my second key programmed. I got a message today that the dealership was going to order my key today and that the next appointment available would be for September. What is that all about?! Last time in I had a tire worked on along with my regular oil change. When I got home I checked my tire pressures by a gauge and the tire pressures were 40, 37, 34, 34. Total clown show, similar experience to many other reviewers here. First of all, the nitrogen scam is a complete ripoff. Had a car picked out, came to an agreement, was told the car had to go through service, we said we would come back the next day then to purchase, they go ahead and sell the car to someone else, no call, no courtesy, the management wouldn't even return a phone call. Complete loss of trust... icky. Dealer was belligerant, slow to respond, asking personal questions like where my daughter lived and my zip code. [? unsure why they cant give me a financing rate without knowing my zip code- sounds like irregular financing. Does the price and added junk fees depend on my.. zip code?]. Is this even legal? I won't consider a car from here! There are a million cars in America for sale and, sadly, almost 10% cannot make payments so used cars currently well under "market" . I will go elsewhere. I would never deal with Ron Swetland and I don't recommend you do. He uses the old school tatctics of lies, pressure and bad antics to sell a car. First, he made me fell stupid because I wouldn't make a decision without talking to men I trust. Then he tried sell me products, but the next day he said those products were on the car and when I confronted him he went back and forth they were on , no he tried to sell them to me. He couldn't even keep his lie straight. Next, he held the car hostage for the higher price because it was the only one like it in the area. When I wouldn't agree to his non negotiable price and for stuff that was/ was not on the car that he was going to try and have removed, he got upset and offer to put me into a cheaper car.Which made me feel like I couldn't afford the car I was trying to negotiate. It didn't matter how many times I told him it was my budget, not the car. My trade in value was with 18+ with Kelly Blue book and Car Max. They wanted to give me 15. Ron told me it was only worth 16.He also tried to pull on my heart strings about putting my name on a piece of paper for Make A Wish to send a girl to Hawaii. ( I hope they send her), but near the beginning of our talks was just trying to play on my emotions. I told him he should never treat women they way he treated me and that I didn't want to deal with him. He didn't seem to care. I came here not to actually get my Toyota car serviced but to get help with putting my license plate put on. I didn't have the right tools to screw on both the front and back of my license plate so I looked up my local Toyota dealership and this location popped up. When I walked in, I was told by the lady at the front desk that they were a bit busy (it was a late Saturday or Sunday afternoon) but I was still able to get help. A nice gentleman came over within 3 mins to help me screw my new license plates on. The service here was excellent and I cam only imagine how awesome they will be if I came here to service my car or if I came for some other service. Westside Toyota - Car Dealers Near Me - North Olmsted, Ohio

As I waited for my car. I watched as a little old lady was told they ground her rims and told her they could not fix her tire leaks. Then sold her a rim and added like another 300 on top of the 129 they quoted for the tire reseal. Basic shops all have tire sealer, it is a 20 dollar can that you can do dozens of tires reseals with. This place is either highly untrained mechanics, or worse up selling for unscrupulous reasons. Then watched a Prius owner be told he needed a new exhaust at over 2200. This replacement exhaust can be found all day long from other Toyota dealers for 800 to 900 and a much smaller markup then double plus a 1.5 hour install is the Toyota TSB hours recommended. This is a known defect on the Prius for the heat ex-changer welded in the exhaust pipe to fail. They put a water pipe through the exhaust heat exchanger and it the pipe through the exchanger cracks in side the heat exchanger. I watched as they lied and said this is like a 1 in 100,000 chance. That's a lie they are failing a lot. That is why there is Toyota TSB Technical Service Bulletin to replace these bad exhaust heat ex-changers with a another part number, hopefully improved, stainless for the pipe though the exchanger would be a better idea then plane steel. Not a good place to go for fair maintenance on your Toyota in my opinion. They spent two hours fishing to find something on my vehicle to sell me. Luckily I got out of this stealer ship with just my recall. Look else where. read more

What made my day and week while my car was in repair were the great team members in customer service and auto repair to include Brooke Samples. Customer Service representative who got the job done with efficiency and professionalism and a great smile! Customer Service Rep Alyssa Jones who works on Saturdays and helped keep me updated with my car status and friendly attitude Customer Service got another star for Renee the Receptionist who arranged for the safe courteous driver Mannie Moreno who Preps cars but for me helped to chauffeur me to my credit union and hotel. Then I cannot overlook the safe work from Master Mechanic Tony Pejic who showed me where under the hood my parts failed. then to help unpack all my travel nursing gear and clothes was this angel named Kendyl Frye one over the top Customer Service Mgr. Gary Osborn Parts specialist pursued as many parts to coordinate their delivery in a speedy delivery to help repair my car and the parts were competitively priced to help my budget. What a gold standard amount of help I was gifted with from Customer Service Manager Steve Varvek. I give this team a standing ovation because they all got me safely on my way. I will go out of my way to service my car hear because I need reliable repairs and I live their outstanding customer service and repairs. read more

What a scumbag, slimy dealership. I had service here last year while I was doing a road trip across the country. Today, I received a call from Ashley from service wanting me to schedule service. The problems are: 1) I don't even live here, and never have. 2) They don't know if I even need service or how many miles I have on the car. They just guesstimated. They could have bothered to look my car up under my VIN on the Toyota national system, and seen I have had all my services done at my local Toyota dealership and am not due, but they are too lazy to do that. They could also have checked my address on their own or national system and seen that I am not local, but they are also too lazy to do that. I hate greedy losers such as this dealership that just want your money without checking first. They have their employees make random cold calls hoping to get a hit. They could have just sent an email if they were so desperate, which would have been less obtrusive. I wouldn't be surprised if they sold their customers' contact information. I have had my Toyotas serviced at at least 15 different Toyota dealers in the past, and this is the first one that has spammed me by phone for service. Do not use this spammer dealership. I made that mistake once and I will never go to them again if I am ever in the area. I don't want spam, especially on my phone. Just because I went here once does not give you the right to call me soliciting, especially without doing your research first. Of course, they won't stop, since they get a probably get a few bites, even though they are annoying many other customers. By the way, if there is a dealer response to this review, you can expect a generic answer like their previous responses, with no real change. People can read through this easily. I took my new RAV4 in for a "Pre Collision Malfunction" after scheduling to bring it in, they called and said they were busy and couldn't get to my vehicle that day. They fixed it the next day but failed to return a call to find out what they did before I picked it up. When I picked it up, I was told it was recalibrated it and said it was fixed. I drove 2 hours, parked it and when I started it there was the same error message... Called for service and They said a manager would call me back. DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! Buyer Beware!!! (Inflated 5 Start Ratings on this business as they push for reviews on Final Sales!!!) NOTE-Alleged Predatory Business Practices. I am writing this review after my warranty period with them so there is no retaliation. This is my first vehicle from this dealer and I get the impression things have changed with the recent new management of Five Star Auto Group, LLC. The Bad - Red Flags 1. "REQUIRED" Options on preowned Vehicles (Paint Correction & Nitrogen Tires) 2. Sales People are High Pressure and Unorganized 3. Rude Staff 4. Upper management treated Techs poorly. 5. Long Wait Times. The Good 1. Let the car be put on a lift so I could do a personal inspection. #1 ISSUE - Westside Toyota had a 2015 Honda Fit listed for 13,999. The Final sale paper I was originally presented with had the car listed at 18K.. They brought in the salesperson who stated they were non-negotiable on the price and were rather stern with me when discussing how I expected there to be a max of $1000 for Tax/Title/Fees associated and was planning to be around the 15k range total. I was told they have "Nitrogen Tires" that are $400 PER TIRE. This was a non-negotiable item that they do "On All our Pre-Owned Vehicles". Only after hassling did they take off this fee BUT THEY DISCOUNTED THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE PRICE INSTEAD OF TAKING OFF THE FEE FOR THE TIRES (Shady because I do not know what agreement there is for the Nitrogen system in the document) I was then told that they did a paint correction on the vehicle for $1000. I don't know what they did because this car is a 2015 and had chips in the paint along the hood and rear panels. It's my thought that they are including these "Bonus Features" To reduce the negotiating room for their customers when buying the vehicles as they will sit and let you cook waiting for "Upper Management" to approve taking off-the-line items. #2 Issue - Sales People are under High Pressure and Unorganized In tandem with #1, I had to repeatedly ask for copies of what I was signing (Foreshadowing #3). When I wanted to take time to read the documentation through I felt rushed. When we talked about the price they were on the top end and multiple times I had to push back against "Document Fees" and other add-ons. When we finally agreed on a price the salesperson stated "And If we Do that Price You will Do that Today!?" I could tell he was anxious and I got the Feeling he was just trying to extract as much value out of me rather than actually wanting to work with me and my needs. #3 Issue - Rude Staff Specifically, when I request copies of documentation that I had signed as part of agreements to #2 I was told that I already had it and already agreed on the final price. I never agreed on the final price and just initialed the price the sales representative stated when I was with him $15,500. When I request a copy of this document where I agreed to the final Price the sales Rep (Samantha) got up and started her way to the printer where she Mumbled "Fucking Christ" Under her breath (I distinctly remembered this and did not hear this incorrectly she actually said this) as I have never had such inappropriate behavior when I want to protect myself after the shady dealings of #1 Issue. Laster Found Out that I DIDNT Sign a Final Agreement and they produced a New Document for me to Sign. #4 Issue - Upper Management Treated Techs Poorly. When the salesperson talked to the Technicians about allowing me to inspect the car there was a clear tone change towards the Technician from the Sales rep that just felt cold. Along the lines of "Just let him do what he wants. Ok?" There was a Missing Jack Stand that I questioned about and they did get me another after I mentioned it but not the insert to strap it down. I was originally told "They don't include them nowadays" Despite this car having a spare in the Trunk.... I am running into the Character Limit. Beware of Westside Toyota and their shady sales tactics. Their advertised online pricing doesn't contain a $995 ceramic coat or a $495 "Nitrogen Protection Plan", so what you see online isn't accurate. Sure, they hide this in the fine print at the bottom of the website and make it sound like it's your fault that you didn't know about it. While test driving a used car, our sales rep Courtney was polite and helpful at first, but brought on high-pressure sales tactics when we sat down to talk price. Sure, they low-balled my trade and quickly came up another $4,000 after I had competing offers. But, as soon as I protested the add-ons she quickly fired back "Well what's it going to take to get this deal done?" in a snarky tone. She was adamant that the $495 protection plan was mandatory after berating us saying "I'm sure you read this on our website, didn't you?" My wife was shocked at how bad the experience was. We went to a dozen other dealers after this and Westside was the only one we encountered that had sneaky add-ons. Glad we went elsewhere for our car, and we'll never be back. read more

I had a wonderful experience working with Sunnyside Toyota. I found a car online that I was interested in and set up a time to test drive it. It was a used 2010 Rav 4. I worked with Carlos and he was awesome! I loved the way the car drove so I ended up buying it. They offered me the best deal they could which I greatly appreciated. Everyone on their staff was very warm and welcoming. Carlos went above and beyond!! A few days after I got the car the CD player wasn't working. I called the dealership and they had it replaced with a new one. It was still under their 90 day warranty which is a good amount of time. I don't think other dealerships offer that. I stopped by this dealership while in the process of evaluating a variety of car models for my next purchase. Nothing unusual, I spoke to a salesman, got a test drive, said our goodbyes. I did not leave a phone number, as I prefer not to be contacted. I'll make my decision and, if you're the guy, you'll get the call. That was two weeks ago. As soon as I left, they apparently looked up my phone number from their Parts or Service department databases, from when I've done business with them in the past. They've texted me 6 times and called me 5 times, all of which I've ignored. This kind of sales technique is very puzzling, reminding me of email spam. I can't believe anything good ever comes from this, and I can assure you, it won't in my case. If I do decide that a Toyota is the way to go with this decision, I'll go out of my way to avoid buying it from Sunnyside Toyota, just because they were so deliberately annoying. read more

Had the worst car shopping experience ever!! I went there to check the RAV4, and the receptionist told me all sales people were busy and asked me to wait, which I expected because I didn't make an appointment. So while I patiently waited, a couple walked in clearly without an appointment either asking for a sales person to help them. All of an sudden, a sales guy rushed to them and offered to show them around. I was standing there 10 feet away witnessing this. The receptionist saw it and she felt bad, so she got another sales person to talk to me. But apparently this guy wanted nothing to do with customer service either. He asked me a few questions like "What car do you want to see?", then left to talk to someone else, leaving me standing there with no clue. At this point, I felt that they really didn't want to do business with me. All I got there was 20 minutes empty waiting and humiliation. I told the receptionist that this is not right and left. Terrible people I went in to buy a 2007 Toyota Camry on July 19, 2021 I got the car which is great and all but when it rains the tires slip and the tires are dry rotted mind you they said they put "New Tires" on the car so I called them up and explained my situation and they had me waste my time going to the dealership to get them checked out just for them to say that it is normal for tires to do that because of the weather mind you I only put 5,000 miles on those tires and they already look old and guess what I go to see the manufactured date of the tires and the tires say the 30th week of 2017 so they put shitty dry rotted tires on my car that are 4 years old this place is a joke I would not buy a car from here and if they put "new tires" on your car check the manufactured date or you can be stuck with old tires that appear new when the car is on the lot. read more

I went to Sunnyside Toyota needing to lease a super reliable, basic car to replace my almost 20 year old VW. I just needed a decent car to visit my elderly mother and 'special needs' brother in New Jersey once or twice a year. The employees here were very professional and kind, and I took a Corolla LE for a test drive. I was a bit shocked when Toyota Corporate Finance denied my lease application later in the process, probably because of my longtime medical debt, despite the fact that my family pays $1500 a month for a health insurance policy from a major provider here in NE Ohio. Fact is, millions of Americans have fallen victim to these criminal, rapacious, unethical health insurance companies that almost always deny benefit claims, and who 'nickel and dime' you to prevent having to pay their fair share of these claims! It wasn't like this a generation ago. So, despite the fact that I have been responsible in paying off my credit card, and my previous VW Credit lease, then buyout payments, Toyota didn't come through for me. Too bad Toyota doesn't realize that there is a HUGE difference between someone's ability to make a measly $191/month car lease payment, compared to out of control medical bills they've given up on paying over the years through no fault of their own! read more

The sales guy Matthew B. was great! Super knowledgeable and friendly. I went to sunnyside to purchase a Highlander for my mother. Charlie Saranita was the worst manager I've ever worked with. He was already agitated before he even sat down to speak with us. He spoke over us and didn't listen to my concerns. We couldn't get a word in. Charlie treated us unprofessionally. We ended up purchasing a new highlander at another Toyota dealership, for better price. Although the salesman I met with was very friendly and helpful, the price was barely negotiable. They took forever to submit my paperwork to their agencies, so when I needed a new tire I had to pay up-front, even though I specifically bought tire/wheel protection. I'm not sure if the slowness of the paperwork is Sunnyside Toyota's fault, but regardless they were not helpful in making the process quicker. Also, they never told me that the tires on the car were previously patched, which bothered me because I think they should be fully transparent about the car. My car also has an issue with the clutch, which they didn't tell me about at all. (fortunately, it will be covered by the powertrain warranty) Lastly, when I took my second tire there to get patched (yes, I said second tire! 2 tires flat within a month!!) they told me I needed to replace it and that a sensor was broken. I took the car to a Ford Dealer to replace it, and they told me I could patch it instead of replacing it. I will not be going back to this dealership, and I'd suggest that if you do go through this dealership you get a hefty warranty in case some of the car's attributes are not shared honestly. read more

Purchased a new Highlander from them in the Summer of 2009. The usual dealer experience, which was fine. I moved to the East side, but I still return here for the regular service. I get a slight break for the Platinum membership, but even without it, their prices are noticeably better than the other Toyota dealers. So we book appointments and drive the distance for both of our Toyotas. I suppose we should find a closer good independent shop, but we haven't taken the time. Meanwhile, Sunnyside continues to meet our needs. A-OK. read more
