Gave good advice on repair of an inverter. Fixed for the cost of a service call and a new fuse. Came on time. Pleasant to deal with.

We have had an Enphase solar installation for 10 years now, which has always worked beautifully…read more However, due to regular PG&E outages in our area (Fremont, CA), we decided to add a backup battery to the system. After careful research, we chose Highlight Solar (HS) to handle this installation. We chose the Franklin battery, and Highlight Solar came out to handle the installation in Nov 2025. Sadly, we had some serious issues with the functionality of our solar infrastructure, after the Franklin equipment was installed... the Enphase solar monitoring device (called Envoy) started having trouble communicating with the panels, and therefore would disable them. HS made a couple of different attempts to fix this issue (which was delayed when they went on vacation for a month), so I had to keep cycling the breaker for the panels every morning to get the system working for another day. Fortunately, they were persistent in pursuing the issue, and after returning from vacation in late January, Samir came out and spent a couple of hours on the phone with Enphase support, who suggested a possible solution for this issue. HS then had someone come out to implement Enphase's suggestion, and now my system is working solidly and reliably (Feb 2026). I'm glad HS didn't just give up on us; I'm sure they were just as frustrated as we were by this situation. We certainly didn't expect this to take three months to resolve, but it is working now.

We met with multiple solar companies and settled on Highlight due to both the great recommendations…read moreas well as our experience during the initial process. We asked a LOT of questions, then we asked more, and then some more. Ali, our salesman, remained patient and communicated thoroughly via email or phone, and at all hours even after we had signed the paperwork. The installation process was honestly better than the sales process. The combination of Chris (the foreman who found a solution for all our requests) and his team which worked in awful weather to get our project installed on schedule were amazing. Our inspection, and final handoff were handled by Samir, who answered even more questions, and made sure we were fully set up. From end to end we had a great experience with Highlight Solar and will recommend them as they were to us. Pro tips: If you get a battery you will need to store it until it is installed. Your solar data might not show up on the app for 24-48 hours after installation...don't panic, it will show up eventually and you will see the money you are not spending with PG&E.

Because of the good experience I had with having Clean Solar install panels at my house I reached out to them to see if they would service panels installed by another, and thankfully they accepted the job. After some back and forth with their customer support, they remotely assessed that the inverter failed and they would install a new one for a reasonable price. Clean Solar employee Jose arrived early for the install and he was very polite and relatable. He replaced the inverter and did not leave until he made sure that the system was back up and running and production was being reported in the app. I recommend Clean Solar to anyone needing their panels serviced or to install a new system. We needed to add panels because we purchase an EV and needed more solar to offset PG&E. The impeccable experience started with Art the consultant, he gave 4 scenarios and explained in detail what each means and provided detail report including all the tech details and break even timing. To be honest, it was too much for me, I really just wanted pricing and how long it takes to install haha but was good to know he has such knowledge and I was confident he is looking out for my best interest. Then we had Patrick the PM, arrived for site inspection on time and courteous and explained the whole process. Then come the impressive installation team Luis, Alberto and Kevin. The 3 arrived on time and with smiles, just overall a great vibe from them. Luis walked me through the installation plan and gave a few choices taking into consideration aesthetics of the house and then got to work. 4 hours later, clean line, fine craftsmanship and symmetrical matching placement from last system is in place and ready to tangle with PG&E (attaching some photos) I really really can't recommend any higher to go with Clean Solar on your solar projects. Seamless is what you'll experience with them. Until next time Clean Solar!

I can't say enough good things about Carlos Gomez from Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions…read more I've been working on a non-standard solar setup using an EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra X and EcoFlow Smart Home Panel 3, and finding a contractor who truly understood this type of system was incredibly difficult. I spoke with many contractors, and almost all of them sent salespeople who gave generic answers or tried to push cookie-cutter solutions that clearly didn't fit my setup. Carlos was completely different. From the moment he arrived, it was clear he wasn't a salesperson -- he's an engineer, and it shows. He took the time to deeply understand my system, reviewed actual spec sheets on the spot, and immediately identified issues that other contractors completely missed. Multiple companies told me Hyundai panels would work fine. Carlos checked the amperage limits, applied proper safety margin calculations, and clearly explained why those panels would not work with my EcoFlow system -- saving me from a costly mistake. He also walked me through: Proper panel selection within voltage and amperage limits Safe string configurations and series wiring How to maximize roof space while staying within code Permitting requirements I hadn't been told about before On top of that, Carlos identified critical code and safety requirements that no one else mentioned: Bollards required in the garage to protect battery units Correct battery placement to maintain required clearance from doors and entrances Heat detector requirements for battery installations in a garage These are all things that would have caused inspection failures later -- and Carlos caught them immediately. He spent well over an hour with me, climbed onto my roof to check for obstructions, inspected battery placement, reviewed wiring paths, and answered every question in detail without ever rushing me. What truly sealed the deal was how efficient and transparent the pricing process was. Carlos was able to turn around a detailed quote very quickly, and when I received it, I was honestly surprised -- it was a significant amount lower than every other quote I received, even though his evaluation was by far the most thorough. Given everything: His technical expertise The level of detail and care The ability to integrate with my existing system The fast turnaround And the much better pricing Choosing Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions was a complete no-brainer. Carlos is knowledgeable, meticulous, honest, and genuinely passionate about doing things the right way. After meeting him, I completely understand why this company has such strong Yelp reviews. If you're in the Bay Area and need electrical or solar work done the right way, especially for a non-standard or custom system, I highly recommend Carlos and the team at Sunlight Electri-Cal Solutions.

    # Extremely Disappointing Experience with Infinium Solar -- Poor Communication and Project…read moreManagement I am a property manager, and I chose Infinium Solar for a newly built ADU solar project. Unfortunately, my experience with them was extremely disappointing. If you value your time and want to avoid unnecessary stress managing your own solar project, I would not recommend using Infinium Solar. ## Initial Experience The sales process was positive. Marcia from sales was responsive, provided different options quickly, and was easy to work with. We chose Infinium Solar because of their good reviews, our positive experience with Marcia, and pricing that was approximately 5% lower than other companies we contacted. Unfortunately, after the project was handed over to project manager Dai Danh, the experience changed significantly. ## Communication Communication became one of the biggest issues. After the initial site visit, there were revisions to the plan, but we had to repeatedly follow up to receive updated plans and pricing. For example, Infinium Solar recommended that our roofer waterproof the mounting anchors to preserve the roof warranty. We needed anchor specifications and quantities to obtain a quote from our roofer, but despite multiple people being copied on the emails, we waited several days for this information. Throughout the project, we constantly had to ask for timelines, status updates, and next steps. Instead of proactive communication, we had to chase Infinium Solar for answers. ## Project Management Issues As a property manager, I understand construction projects are complicated and issues happen. However, the purpose of hiring a professional contractor is to manage those issues. Unfortunately, I felt that I ended up managing the project for Infinium Solar. The clearest example was the roof mounting anchors. Based on Infinium Solar's specifications, my roofer ordered the required anchors. However, Infinium Solar also ordered and installed anchors themselves -- and the anchors they installed were the wrong ones. They eventually asked my roofer to bring the correct anchors for reinstallation. The frustrating part was that my roofer and I had the correct anchors based on Infinium Solar's own specifications, while Infinium Solar did not. The anchor count also changed multiple times (34 50 56), causing additional cost and delays. There was supposed to be a $100/mount deduction because my roofer handled the mounting and waterproofing, but I had to repeatedly follow up before receiving updated pricing. The battery installation was another major issue. The battery location recommended by Infinium Solar was approved by the city but rejected by the fire department during inspection. This required relocating the battery and caused weeks of delay. The relocation also damaged the wall. Infinium Solar initially did not clearly take responsibility for the repair until I informed them my GC would complete the repair and bill them directly. At that point, I had already lost confidence in their work and used my own GC to ensure the repair quality. The timeline was also disappointing. Before signing, we were told there would not be delays after permit approval. However, there was a five-week gap between permit approval and panel installation, even though the installation itself only took one day. ## Billing and Quality Issues The project pricing changed multiple times. While some changes were expected, the anchor-related pricing was poorly managed. Infinium Solar provided incorrect deductions based on outdated anchor quantities, and I had to provide their own previous emails to show the correct count. I also discovered multiple versions of the CAD drawings, and the latest CAD did not reflect the correct anchor quantity. Even after discussing the correct amount with project management, the billing department still sent an incorrect invoice. The installation team also damaged our roof during installation, requiring my roofer to repair the roof membrane afterward. Infinium Solar did pay for the repair, but this should not have happened. ## Lack of Ownership The biggest issue throughout this project was the lack of ownership. After signing the contract, it felt like the level of attention and care significantly decreased. There were repeated examples of internal miscommunication: * Incorrect anchor information * Wrong anchors installed * Incorrect billing * Conflicting instructions from different teams I frequently had to identify problems, coordinate between parties, provide documentation, and push for solutions. A professional contractor should manage the project -- the customer should not have to manage the contractor

From the start, they easily had the best pricing I could find, and what I really appreciated was that there was zero upselling. They looked at our actual energy data to give us an honest initial assessment. Whenever we wanted to tweak the setup--like adjusting the number of panels or adding a battery--they got us a fast quote right away and never tried to push us in one direction or another. Their communication and scheduling were super organized from day one. All the pricing and fees were clearly laid out with no hidden costs, and you could tell everything was thoroughly thought out ahead of time. They even set up a design session to work with us directly on the layout, doing everything they could to accommodate where we wanted the panels placed. When it came to payment options, they gave us a few routes to choose from and even suggested a solar loan that ended up being a great fit for us. The installation itself was completely seamless. Best of all, we passed both the PG&E and city inspections on the very first try with literally zero delays. If you're looking for a reliable, no-nonsense solar company that delivers on time, I would highly recommend Nabu Energy.

We originally chose them a few years ago because they offered free solar panel removal and reinstallation when we eventually needed a roof replacement. The initial install went fine, but trying to get them to honor their contract now has been a nightmare. Bait and Switch: They are suddenly demanding a $3,600 fee for the removal. Even their salesperson admitted this fee was not indicated in our main agreement from 2021, but is now picking apart vague fine print (outside of our contract) to justify it. We have sent the contract over multiple times and asked them to highlight the language where it specifies this charge. Unethical leadership: Leadership is aware of this $3,600 gap, but they don't want to back down. Terrible Customer Service: They are dragging their feet and refusing to coordinate with our roofer, who has been consistently asking for dates to remove the solar. Ignored Emergencies: We explicitly told them we have an active roof leak and asked them to prioritize the removal so we could fix our home. They did not care. Once they finish your initial install, they will abandon you and refuse to give you the time of day. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.
