Visited Westtown Brew Works twice in 2023. Both times were decent experiences, I enjoyed the beer and the location. Good luck visiting this brewery now, it appears to be closed. Went back with a friend yesterday and it is a ghost town. There is a cooling unit or some other equipment lying on the ground near the front barn door. No signage, or sign of life. read more

Basically what my idea of heaven is ! As soon as we pulled up I was in awe . It is so beautiful here! It's like you could hear angels singing when you pull up to see those hop vines and all the wildflowers and butterflies! The vibe continues once inside, I felt like I was in a cabin in Montana! I have to say this is one of the most beautiful breweries in the area. Every time i am in the area i need to stop in. The owners are wonderful people who clearly love their job! The Beer: They always have a nice rotation of beers that are all excellent, i typically will go in and get a flight so i can try everything. They offer cans and growlers but the times i have been there, they are out. Bring your own growler, you're better off. Atmosphere: I love this palce, its open and airy. Its like a barn with all the doors open, its wonderful to come here in the fall when the weather is great. They have ample outdoor seating and indoor as well (once COVID ends). Its super cozy and inviting, with a great view outside of local farm land. They usually have live music and its always a good time Food: There is another 3rd party pizza guy with a stove outside who makes awesome food. Absolutely loved this place. My husband and I loved the location . It is very rustic, a beautiful view and they have a inside & half outside part that is enclosed for the winter time that has heaters , we gotten lucky and sat over there . Beautiful view loved it. I gotten the maple beer and it tasted really good. We also decided to get the pizza as well which was very delicious from the coal burning stove. I dropped by here with my good friend, Harry P. while roaming the Warwick area of Orange County. It was a sweet little beer garden they had set up. There was a food truck, live music, and views of the picturesque countryside. They also has a field, where Harry explained to me that they were growing hops, an ingredient used in making beer. I got a six beer flight for the low price of $6.00 so I was quite satisfied. Their beers were pretty average, but I loved the idea of their "One Mile" hefeweizen, which uses ingredients grown within one mile of the brewery. I enjoyed their pumpkin cider as well. What made it for me was their live entertainment for the day. The singer was a beautiful young woman from Nashville who sounded just like Taylor Swift. I love Taylor Swift, and this angel sang "Blank Space" in an attempt to compromise a request from a little girl for "Shake it Off". Bless this woman, because she actually learned "Shake it Off" in two minutes since the little girl was not satisfied with the one song she did know. read more

It seems to be closed or if not closed, extremely customer unfriendly. Their website has been suspended and phone calls to the published number are forwarded to an anonymous voicemail. Pity. It used to be a very pleasant place to go. But one does not want to drive 30 minutes to a place that doesn't have the courtesy to tell customers if they're open or not. read more

So this place is very much the best. It's not that I didn't love going up to see my girlfriends parents, it was just....well. boring. What I didn't know is that a few minutes away from their house were a multitude of breweries and distilleries. That all changed last weekend when we hit the road on a mini brew tour. You know who we saw there? Everyone. You know why? Because apparently, people up here like to spend their time brewery hopping the way us city folk like bar hopping on Avenue C. Go figure. This one was my favorite of the group (sorry pine island). It's up on a hill so there was a great breeze, there was live music, great food truck (pizza), and of course good beer. Really, really good, affordable beer. The line got pretty long, but the folks manning the counter got us refilled in no time at all. The beer here is great, the staff is friendly & helpful, the interior / exterior is awesome, the views of the surrounding countryside is stunning, the live music is great and the visiting food trucks offer a great selection of food. We had Vesuvius Brick oven pizza, which was really good. A cold cider is great after a long bike ride. The owner is friendly and always around. The hops growing in the yard offers a nice touch too. Been to Westtown Brew Works a couple of times now, and had a great experience each time. It has a rustic, country feel (well, it is out in the middle of nowhere!), kind of 'log cabiny' in a charming way, with their hops field right out front, a spacious tap room, large bar, and usually about 8 or so tasty beers on offer. All the beers I've tried have unique flavors that don't taste like beers from any other local brewery here in the Hudson valley, and they have a great little food vendor outside with a wood burning stove that makes some mighty fine gourmet pizzas. There's a lovely outdoor area overlooking the valley, but every time I've been to the brewery it's been in the winter time so I haven't been able to take advantage of it. Will have to make sure I head back this spring or summer! read more

Gorgeous spot! Good selection of drinks. I was especially pleased because I'm not a big beer drinker. They had two different kinds of ciders, and a selection of wine from Warwick Valley Winery. Plenty of picnic tables! The building has that nice woodsy smell of newness. They also have pizzas they'll make you if you order them. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't order one, but they looked delicious! A lot of people near me were eating it. The only suggestion I would make to the owners is to provide umbrellas for the tables. Based off the beer, I would probably give this place 3 stars. They have 4 on tap, and they are very average, basic beers. I like that there one mile beer is made with everything local and within one mile, cool concept. Were they get an extra star is the outdoor seating area. What a cool atmosphere, live music, and great views. They also grow their own hops which is really cool. They had a food truck Vesuvius Pizza that was really good. The live music was a group from Nashville, the girl had a great voice, and when a little girl asked her to do shake it off, they took a few minutes to learn it for her. Awesome spot with beautiful views! I've had this bookmarked for a while now and I'm glad I finally had the chance to check it out. This is one of the cutest breweries I've seen in a while. They have tons of outdoor seating with great views. When we went, they had a really good live band playing, and a pizza truck set up. I would not recommend the pizza, but that's another story. The inside looks like an open barn, so even if you decide to sit indoors you can still see pretty much everything outside. I really enjoyed the farmhand ale, but unfortunately they didn't have any stouts on hand when we went (my fiancee's favorite). They do have wine if you end up going with someone who doesn't like beer. read more

My absolute favorite local brewery! I love their varying selection on tap, I've been a few times and each time they've had a few different ones in rotation. There's a cute indoor space and an even nicer outdoor space. They have plenty of round tables and picnic tables, along with open grass space. You can bring your own food/picnic fare as well. Friendly staff and very creative brews. Sugar Shack Porter was my favorite. Heaters on the patio will keep you warm if you choose to enjoy the outside. Staff was friendly and quick to pour. If it's really crowded the wait for a drink might be a couple of minutes. The bar isn't very big. The prices, at the time of this review, were extremely reasonable. $5 a pint. They also offer interesting looking "beer tails" made with regional wines. There was a mobile pizza trailer offering what looked like tasty thin crust pizzas in the $10-$13 neighborhood but I didn't try them. The pizza people only accept cash. The view is quite nice from the patio. Typical of that part of Orange County. Unisex bathroom was clean and very nice. There's only one so again might be a wait. At least it's not an outhouse. Hopefully it doesn't become overly commercialized like some of Orange County's wineries and restaurants have become in the last few years. They also allow dogs. read more

This is such a great establishment! We went there for their grand opening in June and immediately taken in by the scenery and the brewery setup ! I can only say good things. The brews are a good variety and tasty. They have local wines too and hard cider. The food trucks were both great ... Philly cheese steaks and wood fired pizza. So where do I start.... the land on which this brewery is located is absolutely beautiful!!! Everything they use in their beer is home grown and local!! They grow their own hops and use local barley, I mean the whole experience blew me away. We have been here twice. Once as a rest stop during the Farm to Fork Fondo, and again just on a nice fall afternoon. The beer is delicious, and the setting is great. The views are gorgeous. The on site pizza is fantastic. The only downside is they set up music inside and it is to small to have live music with amps and a sound system. I discovered Westtown's beer at the Nyack Farmer's Market and was told they were located about a half hour from where I live. I took a trip on a sunny Sunday afternoon and it was such a nice, relaxing time! The bartenders were friendly and the beer selection was awesome. Live music started at 3 and there was a food truck serving delicious pizzas. Such a chill place for friends to hang out and the view was fantastic! The incredible views and good beers were ruined by the atrociously loud guitar playing and singing in the background, I could barley hear anything from anyone at our table and after an hour and several beers we went someplace else and had a better time there. I don't know what it is, live music is good but when it's right in your face and being that it was such a nice day early in the afternoon I think some peace and quiet would have been a better fit. Let alone this guy was super depressing...The food choices looked good with pizza being made on site, they also had one of the better apple ciders I've tried in recent memory, so I definitely will be back this summer, and if I see that same fucking guitar guy again i'm getting a growler to go !! read more

My recently retired mother introduced me to a few local breweries that she has had a chance to sample in her free time (read that in the most jealous tone imaginable). Westtown Brew Works was one such place. As you drive up you notice a barn like structure on the top of a big hill. The hill is covered in hops growing nice and strong. Hoping you can find a closer spot, you eventually give up and park at the bottom. I did notice that people give huge space on either side of their car while parking. Many more cars could have fit but that is such a minor issue that it wont bring the stars down. Once you get up the hill you can divide and conquer. Someone find a table. Someone get in line for beer. It is a foolproof system and it works every time. The outdoor area is filled with tables, some with and without umbrellas. There is a small stage where a man played guitar. I imagine it would be beautiful there at dusk. The beers are pretty cheap (5-6 a pint). Everyone I spoke with was kind and helpful. They had a few of their own beer along with some guest spots. I loved their dry cider. I am not a huge fan of very sweet cider so this hit the spot, especially on a very warm afternoon. They offer growlers for take away if that is more your speed. I just loved the ambiance so sitting there was just a perfect way to wrap up the afternoon before rushing home to jump in the pool. I cant wait to visit my family again and head over to Westtown Brew. read more

This great brewery on a farm not only makes great beer but has an excellent atmosphere that's perfect on warm days. Located on the same property as a hop farm used for the beer, the beer is noticeably fresh and delicious. Several brews include other farm fresh ingredients like honey and apricot. The normal beer, notably the amber ale is also delicious. Best of all is the outside area on a grassy hill overlooking the area's farms. There are a ton of picnic tables and regular tables out there. It's also quite dog friendly and there are often at least a couple of dogs around. On weekends a food truck serving pizza is usually there too so you can make a day of enjoying the atmosphere and drinks. read more
