This is a great place to live! I was surprised to learn that I am entering my 7th year here at the Westwind Apartments, so it's about time I leave a review. As I don't often leave reviews, I had to figure out how to describe my experience. Here it goes: Why I came. Location- As a home health nurse I needed ease of access to all parts of town, and I have that here. I-35, Mopac, the toll roads, all within a mile! Safety- This place has been my refuge. I've never had any issues with theft/vandalism, and for the times that there have been problems in the surrounding area, we've received timely notices to be mindful of the situation. Quiet- Hand in hand with safety, this place is quiet, and after living in places that weren't, I'm glad I found a little peace. There's also a beautiful, little neighborhood park just around the corner that feels like our very own secret garden. Maintenance- Here I'll say that while the buildings aren't new, the maintenance staff, headed up by Carlos, is responsive and quick to address any issues that may pop up, even on the weekends and overnights (there haven't been many). Why I stayed. Very simply, the community. I know my neighbors. Several of them have been here for nearly as long as I have, and it's not unusual to stand by after work catching up on recent events. Regarding management, over the years the apartment staff has always been attentive, but I feel we have our ultimate resident advocate in Nina, the current Community Manager. Nina makes the time to speak with us, whether it's about ideas for community involvement or just to check in. She listens, and I feel like she really cares about us and our home. She is amazing. Perfect hidden gem! This place is perfect if you're looking for a quiet spot! I moved here with my kids over a year ago and I can't find much to complain about. The office staff are super friendly and care about keeping the grounds nice. Pest control is top notch! I have not seen one palmetto bug since we moved in! Maintenance is on it as well. I've had a couple issues in my apartment and they did everything they could to fix the issues as quickly as possible. They keep trash/dumpsters emptied like twice a week and they walk the grounds often picking up trash. The rooms are pretty spacious, except the kitchen. I can even fit a full-size sectional in my living room and have plenty of space for other pieces of furniture. The only complaint that I can think of is that there's been a couple tagging incidents but I think it was teenagers. Also when I first moved in, I was asked to take my wind chyme down because of a complaint. All the while other tenants haven't been made to take theirs down. Other than that, I highly recommend this apartment. Please don't move here if you're a disturber of peace! read more

I originally moved into Westwind Apts in 1998 and lived there until 2004 when I was offered an option to lease-to-own a mobile home. Because of a dispute with the management of the mobile home park, I decided to move back into Westwind apartments within a few months of moving out. I have always had good relations with all the staff here, and they have always been very responsive to all of my requests. There is very little noise around my building and when there was a problem with constant dog barking from a neighbor's pet, the wonderful leasing agent Nina put a notice on the resident's door and the excessive barking was promptly curtailed. Freeway access is very easy off of County Road 172 and Chisholm Valley Drive, but the toll road and IH-35 are far enough away that you don't here the traffic noise. Because the land to the South is largely open pastures, there is a clean, sweet, country-like smell here when the breeze is blowing from the South. read more

Good value for the price. The service team has been quick to come out for any service requests needed. My apartment was renovated prior to move-in. This included new carpet, refinished countertops, faux-wood flooring in all the wet areas, as well as it was freshly painted. Neighbors have been very friendly. I haven't had any issues with parking. Location is close to the La Frontera shopping area. And when the train comes by on occasion, it is really just background noise as it hasn't been bothersome at all. Best of all, Westwind Apartments is a pet friendly community without breed restrictions. read more

Nina and Carlos have been amazing. Nina was so helpful upon move in and helped get things squared away. She really went above and beyond to help us get approved and moved in. Carlos has helped with maintenance issues that have arose very quickly. He even fixed something that wasn't requested but needed to be addressed because he saw it. Recently he came in on a weekend because our heater decided to stop working. He had it fixed so quickly and it was his day off. Thank you guys! read more

I've been living here for over 6 months now and I can't say enough good things about this property. Aside of a great price, I love going to the pool every single day, maintenance keeps it very clean and there are never parties or loud people there, it's a place to relax. Nina at the office and Carlos are outstanding, they make sure everything gets done quickly and that the grounds and property look beautiful. Thank you for making us feel home. read more

Best apartment ever! The location is within minutes of Mopac, I35, and 45 but is still quiet and peaceful. Lots of parking, maintenance is great, and management is really patient and kind. The apartments themselves are super cute and you only share walls with 2 other people. I wouldn't be moving except I got a house. There isn't a gym but let's be honest, do any of us ever use the gym? Not a negative in my opinion. read more

I lived at Westwind for the last two years and its been fabulous. Nina is always readily able to help and so nice. Maintence is quick to address any issues you may have. Then the price, you cannot beat the prices here, especially in Austin. It has everything you would need, close by everything and its a very quiet and safe neighborhood. I have live here for almost two years and plan on renovating lease. Management is amazing, specially NINA. She always makes sure to get the work orders/repairs done in time and make us feel home. The area is really quite and safe. Complex and pool are always clean. 100% recommended! read more
