a cup of coffee and a bag of cookies

This isn't a standalone coffee shop, it is inside Whole Foods. There is a short menu of coffee options, and baked goods are available for purchase in the store. Service was good, the coffee I got - and Americano - was OK.

My oat milk chai got a fly in it. Not sure how long it was in there because my cap was on the whole time.
Zoya A.

So like the tea was good but idk when the fly got in it and honestly as still pretty good :/ Can't say it was the baristas fault. I drank like most of the chai lol

Skilled latte art! Things you should know:…read moreI. PARKING There's slim spaces of parallel parking in front of the building, but to the street to the left (Pierce Dr.) there's more free spaces. II. SERVICE The barista making the latte art is talented! This is one of the slim cafes in Atlanta and the surrounding area that uses glassware, elevating the experience. There's outlets throughout the cafe and a self-service water station. III. QUALITY All of the coffee I've tasted has been dense in flavor. Great craftsmanship. IV. CAPACITY Seating is quite limited with how in demand this location is. I went around noon on a week day and got lucky to find a spot. I can imagine weekends are even busier; I recommend visiting on a work day.

Found my Kindred coffee spot in Downtown Chamblee. Kin Coffees knows coffee!…read more As a big coffee and cafe lover, I really enjoyed my visit to Kin Coffee. The space is open, airy, and thoughtfully designed. I especially loved the seating layout. There's actually room to breathe. You're not crammed next to other tables or accidentally overhearing your neighbor's entire life story. Some cafes feel packed like sardines, but Kin does it right. They even have a cozy living-room style seating area that adds to the relaxed vibe. There's also outdoor seating, which would be perfect on a beautiful day. The latte I ordered was divine- smooth, balanced, and perfectly crafted. As someone who loves good latte art, Kin's baristas absolutely deliver. We were served the most beautiful swan latte art, which made the experience even better. Totally brewtiful! Everyone in our group loved their drinks. One friend mentioned their strawberry matcha is amazing, so that's definitely on my list for my next visit. Another thing I loved: they showcase work from local artists that's displayed and available for purchase. Love, love, love when cafés support local creatives. They also offer a few pastry options that could pair nicely with your drink. Will have to try that next time My only wish? That they stayed open later because I could easily see myself hanging out here all the time. If you appreciate great coffee, good and chill vibes, and cafes that really know their craft, definitely check out Kin Coffee. They even roast their own beans, which makes it a true coffee lover's spot.

Block & Drum is an incredible space with lots of events throughout the week. They have a classy…read moreinside part which usually has chairs and seating, then they have a giant outdoor space with a huge screen, green turf space, and more seating. They set up multiple bars for bigger events so you don't have to wait on line for long, and they typically already include tax and gratuity automatically. They've switched to valet parking only, or at least for the event I went to. It was $15 but they say you can park for free at the Walmart down the road.

I opted to park at the Wal-Mart and wasn't as familiar with the trail so I took the street route. Well-light and populated for safe crossing. The venue is very open and was relatively empty since we arrived shortly after it opened. I love the indoor seating concept with plenty of couches, movable chairs, tables near the open-area space and smaller sections for 2-4 people tucked away along the wall. The DJ was already doing his thing and the bartenders remained busy. As someone who wasn't interested in the drinks, I appreciate that there was a self-serve water cooler in the center of the room. The Jenga and jumbo Uno cards were a hit!!!! It was so nice to have these options available. And as others mentioned, the large screen was playing a classic movie - which we could still see from inside. I didn't stay long and this was a Sunday night but the parking lot was much busier when I left. I imagine the outdoor space gets crowded later in the evening as well. The DJ was just okay - not my cup of tea - but folks seemed to be enjoying themselves. I can definitely see why this place is popular. Although parking is less than desirable, it is not unreasonable. The venue is well-lit and easy to move around. The crowd was diverse, with various ages and backgrounds represented. And depending on the DJ, this would be a great place for meeting with friends, date night or just zoning out to some wonderful music ... especially on a beautiful night. If you're in the mood for something different AND don't mind the trek to Chamblee, check it out.

It even has managed to impress friends who don't adventure too far outside of their own American culinary tastes. The sweets here are the perfect amount of sweet. The savory items also contain a perfect hint of sweetness that somehow ties it all together. I've even had a matcha (less sugar) made here and my God it was unexpectedly delicious. I usually spend about $20-ish and share my bag full of goodies with my folks. I love that you can get a lot with a little -- the dollar still stretches here! Sometimes their open hours are a bit off, as if been before during regular hours and they've been closed. I'll also add that the entrance can be confusing as Family Baking shares space or simply is owned by Rolls Village. None of this stops me from stopping by. The cherry on top is that the service is truly phenomenal. I love being greeted where I spend money, and the guy who frequently mans the cash register has such great energy. He's efficient as hell too! When I visited, he skipped through the tipping portion of the POS both times... so I'm not sure if they accept tips but I won't complain too much about that LOL. Go!!!

Dumpling Master in Chamblee, GA Handmade Chinese Soup…read moreDumplings Spot Everything we tried: Pork soup dumplings -- recommend Juicy soup inside, and the skin is slightly thick with a little chew. I recommend dipping them in their house-made dumpling sauce or black vinegar. They also have other meat options. Har gow (shrimp dumplings) Filled with shrimp paste, bamboo, and dried scallops, has a stronger seafood flavor compared to traditional ones. Pan-fried pork & chive dumplings Crispy on the outside, and you can tell the skin is handmade. The filling is very juicy and lightly seasoned, more of a homemade style. Beef fried noodles -- recommend Yellow egg noodles with black pepper beef and vegetables. Savory with a nice peppery and wok flavor. Chili oil wontons Appetizer with shrimp and pork filling, topped with chili oil and dumpling sauce. Szechuan spicy chicken Spicy with a slight numbing kick, best paired with rice. I've eaten at the MD in Alpharetta when it first opened and these to those I feel like some of the quality has gone downhill some. Service was fine, place was clean and our meal was okay, but small tweaks could have made it better. The dumpling skins was a little tough, the wonton skins were too thick, the shu mai mixture was a little fishy and the beef bao fell apart pretty quickly after it was brought out. The bok choy was tasty and the sauce of the wonton chili oil was tasty as well. I'd come back if someone wanted to go, but not likely to stop in again on my own.
