Please keep this place open! WG Grinders is one of my comfort restaurants in Columbus. I always get their turkey reuben which lasts me two meals--a great price for the quality and quantity of food. It's an unassuming restaurant from the outside but they support local athletics and student groups which is great. My family ordered 4 sandwiches and they were finished in about 20 minutes. Kind of a long wait but there were 3 parties ahead of us.

Perfect sandwiches every time. Stromboli's and soup are also very good. Friendly service and never too long of a wait when we call our order in.

Pepperoni and sausage Stromboli

Stromboli is delicious and has the perfect crunch to the outside. Their subs are also always good. I come here quite a few times, especially when I want a sub. Sweets are always good too. Service is always friendly and fast.

This was my second time here. Chicken Parm Grinder and pasta salad. Great sandwich plenty of flavor and toastyness Based on the others reviews and my experience so far, you can't go wrong with this place !

This happens often, I said no blue cheese on the sandwich twice, and I still get blue cheese put on it ‍

Spicy chicken grinder with a side of fruit

Quick stop off the highway. Amazing spicy chicken sub. Just the right amount of heat on some chucked chicken breast with fresh crisp lettuce and tomato. I opted for the fresh fruit instead of chips and this was just a delightful meal. The staff were pleasant and quickly brought my meal to the outside seating. Yes this place is in a strip mall with a few chicken joints in the parking lot... but you won't get a better sandwich anywhere! Super delicious! Reminds me of the old days... and the place was doing a bang up lunch business. Make this a stop!

I haven't had Grinders in a looooooong time and was in the area so I had to scratch that itch and I have to say it was a great decision. Seeing the checkered floor and the glass cubes... nostalgia. Had a hard time choosing between my 3 favs - the club, cordon bleu, and buffalo chicken w/ gorgonzola. I went w/ the buffalo and the cheddar mac. The portion on the cheddar mac was somehow bigger than I remember and I squeezed two meals out of a 10" sub and one side. Win. I love this place. Just as good if not better than I remember. I'll be back often. Worth the trip to the west side around 270. So glad there's still one or two of these spots in Columbus.

For a sandwich place this is deff pretty good. Choose this over subway or the new fire house subs. You will not be disappointed.

We came across Por'ketta at an event again and grabbed two sandwich/side meals: the classic BBQ…read morepork sandwich (BBQ sauce and pickles) with chips (a bag of Lays classic) and the Pigcasso (pork, pickled cabbage, pickles, lemon aioli, and Bama BBQ sauce) with potato salad. They also had a seasonal summer salad starring zucchini on the menu, which also sounded good. The sandwiches are great sized and really loaded up with meat and toppings. Everything was much enjoyed and really hit the spot. The staff was friendly and efficient. They took the order with a phone number and then texted us to come back for pick up when it was ready.

I have eaten Por'ketta many times. They've never disappointed so I keep coming back. I first…read moreencountered them on the inaugural CBus Ale Trail outside of Zaftig (in it's original location). I remember it clearly as I was a newbie to Central Ohio and they sold Cheerwine* in bottles. From there, I've caught them at a handful of small festivals, at Platform, and at Pins Mechanical when they parked there for a while. I've had the por'ketta sandwich, the potato salad, and the pork sundae. I could have reviewed these guys quite a while ago but I guess I was waiting for a certain dish to push me over the 'review this now' ledge. Well, I had that dish this weekend at Platform. (Where these guys are parked on Saturdays.) I had the breakfast sandwich. The bread, same that is used for the other sandwiches, was beautiful. On the sandwich were roasted red peppers, that had been peeled! I really dislike fire roasted things that haven't been peeled (i.e. tomatoes, peppers) so when I saw that the ones on the sandwich were peeled I was stoked! It shouldn't be a secret, I freakin' LOVE mayo and mayo based things (Duke's mayo forever). But, MAN the aioli used on this sandwich was on point. The thyme in it took it over the top! The bacon was great and complimented the other ingredients well. The only thing I wasn't too keen on, at first, were the scrambled eggs on the sandwich. It looked (and smelled) a bit overcooked on one side of the sandwich. However, after a few bites into the sandwich, my dislike of the scrambled eggs changed when I realized that they had crisped the cheese to the bottom side of the eggs. I love crispy, toasted cheese! With the sandwich came a side of griddled potatoes. These guys are likely the same potatoes that get crafted into potato salad. There's a vinegar backing that reminded me of the potato salad. They complimented the sandwich oh so we'll. The gentleman that was working even brought out our dog some chicken! Our dog loved it of course and wants to already know when we can go back for brunch at Platform. Por'ketta serves the breakfasty side of their menu till 2 when they switch to lunch. As a note I had my wife order the sandwich as it comes; these guys would surely honor egg style requests. Next time I get the breakfast sandwich, I will ask for an egg with a soft yoke- as that would have made this sandwich untouchable by any other food truck (and likely restaurant) breakfast sandwich. ----- *Cheerwine is a North Carolina based cherry soda. You can find it a handful of places now- Kenny Road, Savor Pints, any of the City BBQs just to name a few. (p.s. I am not affiliated with Cheerwine, just a Southerner who likes a little taste of home)
