Please keep this place open! WG Grinders is one of my comfort restaurants in Columbus. I always get their turkey reuben which lasts me two meals--a great price for the quality and quantity of food. It's an unassuming restaurant from the outside but they support local athletics and student groups which is great. My family ordered 4 sandwiches and they were finished in about 20 minutes. Kind of a long wait but there were 3 parties ahead of us.

Perfect sandwiches every time. Stromboli's and soup are also very good. Friendly service and never too long of a wait when we call our order in.

    Pepperoni and sausage Stromboli

Stromboli is delicious and has the perfect crunch to the outside. Their subs are also always good. I come here quite a few times, especially when I want a sub. Sweets are always good too. Service is always friendly and fast.

This was my second time here. Chicken Parm Grinder and pasta salad. Great sandwich plenty of flavor and toastyness Based on the others reviews and my experience so far, you can't go wrong with this place !

This happens often, I said no blue cheese on the sandwich twice, and I still get blue cheese put on it ‍

Quick stop off the highway. Amazing spicy chicken sub. Just the right amount of heat on some chucked chicken breast with fresh crisp lettuce and tomato. I opted for the fresh fruit instead of chips and this was just a delightful meal. The staff were pleasant and quickly brought my meal to the outside seating. Yes this place is in a strip mall with a few chicken joints in the parking lot... but you won't get a better sandwich anywhere! Super delicious! Reminds me of the old days... and the place was doing a bang up lunch business. Make this a stop!

I haven't had Grinders in a looooooong time and was in the area so I had to scratch that itch and I have to say it was a great decision. Seeing the checkered floor and the glass cubes... nostalgia. Had a hard time choosing between my 3 favs - the club, cordon bleu, and buffalo chicken w/ gorgonzola. I went w/ the buffalo and the cheddar mac. The portion on the cheddar mac was somehow bigger than I remember and I squeezed two meals out of a 10" sub and one side. Win. I love this place. Just as good if not better than I remember. I'll be back often. Worth the trip to the west side around 270. So glad there's still one or two of these spots in Columbus.

Quick and attentive service. We started with crispy dumplings (6), crispy egg rolls (2), and a scallion pancake. Bing, their crepe, wasn't available our night. My dining companions loved the pancake - for me perhaps a bit too much drizzled sauce. It was helpfully quartered when brought to the table so sharing was easy. The dumplings were indeed crispy and probably my favorite with a standard dark dipping sauce. The egg rolls were standard and perhaps a bit undersized and over fried, but a good creamy dipping sauce was a pivot away from the sweet chili sauce that usually accompanies such apps. Ramen is clearly the focus of the menu and three of us had ramen with chicken and one with pork. They spoke favorably of the broth and the combos of mushrooms, boiled egg, greens. I had the rice vermicelli with chicken that they called a salad. I was expecting the classic Vietnamese staple but this one had some adaptations, perhaps to a fusion or one might say less ethnic nod. Small things but the ample portion served in a small bowl made it hard to mix the rice noodles, lettuce, carrot, cucumber and chicken that is a common approach to the dish after drowning all the ingredients in both sweet sauce (nuoc cham), siracha and/or hoisin sauce. It only came with the nuoc cham. They brought Siracha when I asked for it, but I'm a fan of having these condiments on the table standard. Again, had the sense that the business lunch crowd that is probably the primary audience isn't likely to be as focused on the more authentic ingredients. The chicken was also not grilled and sliced but had a pleasant preparation. Just know it won't be the charred flavor that is so common. Finally, not to obsess on this one dish, but cutting the lettuce leaves more would enable easier chop sticks combos of the ingredients in single bites. Overall it worked for us. I am definitely the most focused on (my companions would say obsessed) on connection to what these dishes should be. If adaptations work well for you, Tiger+Lily likely will as well.

We started with a Hot Apple Cider, topped with maple-infused whipped cream and cinnamon, along with a couple of hot coffees. The cider was warm, comforting, and full of cozy fall flavors. Unfortunately, the self-serve coffee station wasn't kept stocked, and after waiting quite a while for a refill, we eventually gave up. For breakfast, we ordered two Mushroom Frittatas, a Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, and a side of Housemade Breakfast Sausage. The Mushroom Frittata featured three hearth-baked eggs with roasted mushrooms, sweet onions, and Gruyère cheese, served alongside breakfast potatoes and a peppery arugula salad. It was flavorful, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Although I informed the staff about my peanut allergy, I was surprised to find the crispy breakfast potatoes on my plate, which left me uncertain whether the allergy request had been fully communicated to the kitchen. The Fresh Buttermilk Biscuit, served with strawberry preserves, was one of the highlights of the meal. It was flaky, buttery, and wonderfully moist, pairing perfectly with the sweet preserves. The Housemade Breakfast Sausage consisted of two peppery pork patties that were juicy and well-seasoned, making a great accompaniment to the rest of the meal. Overall, we enjoyed a delicious and filling breakfast with fresh, high-quality ingredients. While I wish the coffee station had been monitored more closely and that greater care had been taken regarding my food allergy, the Mushroom Frittata and fresh biscuit alone make Northstar Café worth returning to.

Coming off of Bourbon fest, we decided for light fare and got a closing drink along with the Off Menu red snapper crudo with rice paper crackers, watermelon salad, and pomodoro pasta. They have a small parking lot which is helpful since parking can be challenging in this area. They have some outside seating and a small but cute dinning room with a bar. It was such a gorgeous day, I sat outside. I ordered the Penang curry with chicken and a couple of egg rolls. This is what I ordered via DoorDash, and it is one of my favorite dishes so I wanted to keep in consistent for my review. The waitress was attentive and friendly. It isn't busy at all. There is only one other couple dining during this lunch hour. The table outside is a mesh-top table, which is concerning, especially when you have a dish with sauce. When places don't provide a placemat, you risk food getting on your lap and pants. This would be a simple suggestion and fix. The egg rolls came out first. The presentation was really nice. They were nice and crisp, not soggy, like some places. The dipping sauce was perfect. I thought they were delicious. We are off to a good start! The Penang curry came out looking delicious. It was nothing like my DoorDash meal. The portions were good. Fair amount of chicken. Loved the flavor and spice. Some of the best flavor I've had in this dish in a long time. They also had anime on the TV, so bonus points for that. The service was quick and the staff was very friendly, and answered any questions I had. The only downside in my opinion was the temperature in the restaurant, it may have just been a humid day, but there was not much airflow inside so it was very hot and humid.
