The place was hardly busy and the worker took SO long to take care of us, I was glad I put extra time in the meter for my car. Ordered a few bagels and a bacon egg and cheese and a buttered bagel. When my brother ordered, she grabbed a bagel and checked the bottom of it and picked up another and checked the bottom, it looked like she purposefully gave us the overcooked one. Great selection of bagels, generous on the cream cheese, and just a good spot. Easy to get in and out. This shop could teach a masterclass in how to lose a customer over 20 cents. My wife and I spent about $30 cash on breakfast here, enjoyed it, and tried to buy a muffin on the way out. What A Bagel What A Bagel is literally a hole in the wall. It's a small place, often crowded, with everyone literally right on top of each other, and zero organization with the line. The bagels and breakfast sandwiches are good (not amazing) but the variety of cream cheeses was my favorite. The vegetable cream cheese was fresh and tasty. There is a very small seating area which would have been great, but when we went it was 35 degrees outside and the owners left the doors open, so eating inside would have basically been like eating outside so we took our food to go. read more

So appetizing. White Plains needs a decent bagel shop. Bagel quality inconsistent. Had an undercooked, slightly stale bagel today. If I had another convenient option, I would go there instead. Okay- so I loved the tuna fish sandwiches that chock full of nuts used to make when i was a kid. This place has the chock full of nuts tuna fish recipe down. I came here based on people's recommendations, but I couldn't have been more disappointed. The bagel was decent and toasted perfectly. However when handed to me it was barely edible. This restaurant uses styrofoam! It's literally illegal to use foam containers in NYC, but What a Bagel saves a third of a penny per plate by serving their bagels in styrofoam. Everyone knows foam is bad for the environment and that it will never, ever go away after being used. I had a voucher and used it to get my coworkers some breakfast one morning. I expected nicer looking digs and it looked more like a convenience store but I had no choice so I used my voucher. The staff was somewhat helpful with a tinge of annoyance.
