    Cold brew and quiche.
    Rick J.

Very meh. They're not interested in providing much. Asked for a 12 ounce dirty chai. Was told they only do that in 16 ounce. Hmmmm. Ok. How about a 12 ounce mocha? No, they only do that in 16 ounce as well. They said they'd do 12 ounces but would charge me for 16. So strange. Ordered a cold brew instead. Not bad. Quiche was ok but only partially heated. Just overall a very odd place w an unappealing vibe.

Customer service was great! However I ordered a Cortado which the espresso was unbalanced. Felt like the machine was unable to properly pressurize or the wrong measurements of the coffee grounds. Will revisit soon and try again.

Adorable and cozy neighborhood coffee shop in the heart of White Plains. Lots of seating, friendly and quick service, and free wifi. I also appreciated the menu had plenty of creative non-coffee options like London Fog, Turmeric Chai, matcha. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a coffee or tea break in the area.

Stopped by after dinner. Great selection of teas, and they can make a London Fog w lavender. Playlist while I waited was 70s-80s disco -- huge plus! BeeGees! Sylvester!

I have visited this shop a handful of times. The staff is always incredibly friendly and accommodating. I was impressed with their knowledge of their products. I am not a coffee drinker. I usually have a chai tea latte or a matcha latte. The lattes I received were absolutely delicious and I could tell that they take pride in their craft. The shop itself has a cozy atmosphere and I enjoyed sitting and sipping my coffee in their comfortable seating. It's also worth noting that they use eco-friendly cups and utensils, which is a great bonus. I would recommend checking your food before you leave, the last time I went I ordered a chocolate croissant, when I got home I realized I received a regular croissant instead. I would still highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee or tea and a welcoming atmosphere.

If you are looking for a wonderful cafe for great coffee, tea, fabulous desserts as well as GREAT WINE, you have to visit Hastings Tea & Coffee cafe on Main Street in White Plains. I went in to treat myself to an almond latte and I walked out with my coffee and two exceptional bottles of wine. I was planning on going to a local liquor store since we were planning on visiting friends later that day, however I was surprised to see bottles of what looked like really exceptional wines stacked on shelves. They also have a Wine of the Month Club that after tasting their selected wines, I'm seriously considering joining. However, what impressed me the most about Hastings Coffee & Tea is their very dedicated and helpful baristas and wine connoisseurs. I was introduced to Jason who began explaining the kinds of wines in their store and then he introduced me to Bill who was very knowledgeable about the white Spanish wines. Bill recommended Grand Arte Alvarinho from Portugal and a delicious red wine. My friends thought I must have been secretly taking courses in fine wines, because they were blown away by the bottles we brought them ! The fact is that there are lots of reasons to check out the Hastings Coffee & Tea cafe!. It's wonderful to have a neighborhood cafe that has a smart and dedicated team that provides wonderful coffees, teas , desserts and awesome wine!

I loved this small quiet tea and coffee shop. I came here one early morning not really sure what I wanted. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and patient with me as I decided what I wanted to order. I grabbed a whole leaf White Peony Tea that is very mild and fruit in taste, alfajor, and a butterfly squeeze tea. The Alfajor was chocolatey, the best one I've ever had. The bite the shortbread had to it was perfect. The tea I wish was less mild and more aggressive in flavor (I prefer my tea with honey and lemon and it was more so naturally flavor and light on sweetness but balanced nonetheless). I can't wait to visit this shop again!

Not great Expresso. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance seemed ok and I'd like to come back and try the tea[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], but I do love some espresso in the am and it was really just ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Oddly, bathrooms down hall are weird, old, outdated[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]/

This is my second time here - it's New Year's Day, nothing else is open today and, I am new to the area - I have very specific coffee preferences. My first time here was incredibly disappointing. The coffee brew back then was watery and tasteless. However today when the barista asked me what type of brew I wanted (mild, medium or strong) I knew that my coffee experience was going to be better. Cafe Au Lait - dark roast with steamed skim milk was directly on point! I'll be back! Glad I gave it a second try!

Nice coffee shop. Great service and good location. Cappuccino was not hot and coffee average, warm inviting surroundings.

I'd been looking for a tea spot and found this. I passed this place many times before I even realized that it was right in downtown White Plains. I drove and walked by it hundreds of times. I've met friends here, stayed and hung out here and gotten orders to go. I've tried their coffee, hot chocolate, iced chai and tea. All of the beverages I've tried were tasty and delightful. I, also, love their brownies. And scones. The brownies are extremely fresh and chocolately. Basically the perfect brownie. There are several tables and spots to sit inside. In the summer, there are also a few tables outside, too. I'll definitely be back here again soon. Can't wait to have another brownie!

    Bees knees latte

Delicious! I walked into Hastings on a whim looking for something warm to drink and the description of a Bees Knees sounded interesting with honey, lavender, espresso and rosemary. It was heaven. Not too sweet and a perfect mellow flavor. Paired it with a super light, fluffy coffee cake muffin. Perfect for a rainy day.

We had a fantastic meal and an all-around great experience. For appetizers, we shared the octopus, a Margherita pizza, and fresh tomatoes with mozzarella drizzled with balsamic. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Pork Chop Milanese and absolutely loved it -- the breading was perfectly crisp and seasoned just right. I also had a chance to try my wife's lobster ravioli, which was rich and delicious. The ambiance was comfortable and inviting, perfect for a special night out without feeling over-the-top. For dessert, we had cannolis with a light filling I hadn't tasted before -- not overly sweet, just smooth and really good. Our young Italian waiter was on top of his game all night. He was attentive, professional, and even humored most of my dad jokes. Highly recommend this spot. Go, eat fresh, drink moderately, and tip well.

Really enjoyed the truffle arancini, and the charcuterie board was good, but a bit small. Gnocchi tasted fresh and had a decadent sauce. The chocolate lava cake was good in size and tasty. I can honestly say this place hasn't lost their touch. The restaurant is dark and cozy with a fireplace in the back, making it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or nice lunch. The servers are all well-versed in the menu items and oyster selection. The restaurant usually has some great specials that are always worth trying out. This visit was somewhat brief so we only got mains. The special of the day was swordfish. They offer the option to choose your prep style so we each got the swordfish; I tried the lemon butter sauce and my boyfriend got the red pepper sauce. Both were perfectly prepared and delicious. We also shared a side of the grilled asparagus which was perfectly cooked. A solid 10/10. Highly recommended for any foodies as this place also has some fantastic non-seafood options.

I had been meaning to try Kee's Oyster House for a long time based on their high ratings, but after finally visiting last night, I left disappointed. Atmosphere The restaurant is nicely designed, yet it strangely lacks ambiance and it was half full. There was either no music playing or it was so quiet that we couldn't hear it. The atmosphere felt sterile, further emphasized by the staff. Our waiter did not introduce himself or offer a greeting; he simply asked, "Still or sparkling water?" As I observed the room, I noticed that not a single staff member offered a smile or a friendly gesture. The entire team appeared visibly unhappy, and every interaction felt purely transactional, devoid of any genuine customer service. The Good: Appetizers The appetizers were the highlight of the meal. We enjoyed both the raw oysters and the Oysters Rockefeller. The raw oysters had a perfect balance of brininess and sweetness, and the Rockefeller was cooked perfectly with a creamy spinach sauce so good that we were tempted to order a second round. The Bad: Main Entrees Unfortunately, this is where Kee's fell short. My wife ordered the salmon, and when she asked about the preparation, the waiter brusquely informed her it is only served medium-rare, offering no room for preference. When she asked what side it came with, he gave her a pretentious, disdainful look and stated that they are an à la carte restaurant. She was forced to order a $14 side of poorly constructed, bitter onions and potatoes. While the salmon itself was flavorful, a restaurant charging 6-7 times the cost of ingredients needs to provide an experience that justifies the premium. My seafood risotto was equally disappointing. The portion size was shockingly small--containing only three baby scallops and four baby shrimp. Furthermore, the dish had an overpowering "fishy" taste that forced me to use the leftover mignonette sauce from our oysters just to make it palatable.

Parking took a little patience, as both the front spots and lot across the street were full, but we secured street parking on a second pass. From the outside it feels intimate, almost modest. They start you with eggplant caponata, a welcoming touch. We shared the Four Cheese Arancini and a grilled calamari and shrimp special, both well executed. I ordered the Bucatini all'Amatriciana, the daily special and one of my favorites, and it delivered with depth and balance. My wife's Pappardelle del Bosco, finished with truffle oil, was rich and aromatic. Espresso and a house-made amaro to close sealed the experience. A strong first visit. Our server didn't greet us and instead immediately asked what we wanted to order...less than five minutes after being seated, before we had even looked at the menus or been asked if we wanted drinks. We told him we'd like to start with drinks, and although he reluctantly took the order, he returned a few minutes later empty-handed and again asked us to place our full order, without even bringing the cocktails to the table first. It felt rushed and disorganized right from the start. Throughout the evening, every interaction felt pressured, despite the restaurant not appearing particularly busy, which made what should have been a relaxed birthday dinner feel uncomfortable. When our first round of drinks was finished, he never once came back to ask if we wanted another round, which was surprising given the setting and price point. The most surprising part was learning that our server was the owner/chef's son. When we casually asked who Padre Pio was, he couldn't answer, which felt like a missed opportunity to share the story behind the restaurant. As for the meal, the total came to about $500 for cocktails, wine, four appetizers (grilled calamari, baked clams, eggplant rollatini, and insalata di campania), and entrées including ravioli, spaghetti Padre Pio, chicken scarpariello, and branzino, with sides of mushrooms and escarole and beans. While some dishes were decent, others fell short--particularly the spaghetti Padre Pio, which was overly soft and lacked texture. The ravioli also tasted very similar to JB & Sons from Yonkers. The clams were mushy and overly saturated in oil. I did enjoy the eggplant rollatini. The complimentary eggplant caponata was oddly sweet. The menu itself was oddly presented. I've never seen chicken scarpariello listed with add-ons and separate pricing depending on whether you want it on or off the bone or with sausage, it felt more like ordering a pizza with toppings than ordering from what's supposed to be an elevated Italian menu. It cheapened the overall experience rather than enhancing it. Service issues continued throughout the meal. When our entrées were brought out, no serving utensils or extra plates were provided. When he later asked if we wanted new plates, he simply dropped a stack on the side of the table rather than setting them properly, which felt inattentive and unprofessional. Additionally, the bus staff were overly aggressive when clearing the table. At one point, a busboy dropped dirty utensils directly onto my friend's lap and into her purse that was next to me. To top it off, instead of offering us a dessert menu, a piece of cheesecake was simply brought out alongside the check. After spending this amount of money, especially for a birthday celebration, this felt dismissive and frankly rude, as it removed the opportunity to choose or enjoy dessert as part of the experience. Moments later, the lights were turned on, making it very clear we were no longer welcome to sit and enjoy the end of the evening. Overall, for the price point and the occasion, we expected a much more welcoming and attentive dining experience. Unfortunately, the service and pacing overshadowed the meal.
