Whataburger isn't just a meal, it's an experience. If you are visiting TX, you don't experience this on the same level as a Texan does but if you're in the right headspace, it's awesome. First, I want to point out that it's important to manage expectations. When I fly Spirit Airlines, I'm usually satisfied because I don't expect the same level of service & quality I might find on United, Alaska, Delta, & Southwest. I pay less and I get less and that's OK. This is not a steakhouse burger, it's fast food and I feel that it's better than most of the standard chain-faire. Is this the In n' Out of TX? Kind of. I'm a Seattle native and I grew up on Dick's Drive-In, which I still love & I believe is the reason that In n' Out will never try to breach the Seattle market. As any Seattle native knows, CA started invading our city in the 1980's and you can easily see the ultimate results of that. I'm not here for social commentary but I will say that WA set themselves up for their fate by already embracing a lot of CA's bad ideas before the invasion began & then enacting them when the echo chamber became overwhelming. I don't think Texans would tolerate that. One of the things I hated about the Californians is how snotty they were about Dick's Drive-In. They would crap all over it because they preferred In n' Out & frankly, I've tried them both many times and I'll stick with DDI. This was my third trip to TX, & my first to the Austin area. I have moved to NV since my last visit and my perspective has changed a bit. I think the first two times I visited, I was a snotty Northwesterner & I instinctively looked down on TX because it wasn't like WA. Since I hated the way the CA people did that in WA, I realized I was a hypocrite. This time, I came with a new attitude and I saw it all through a different lens. I love it now. I love how friendly the people are. I love the overall attitude and vibe. Eating at Whataburger was fantastic. I'm not a huge burger eater beyond DDI but I enjoyed this meal more for the experience than for the food. I don't want to short-change the food, it was tasty and the portions were good as well as the prices but the employees and other patrons were wonderful. I had never been to this city before and they treated me like a part of their community. I love food and even do food blogging and videos and I would urge all of my friends to go try Whataburger with an open mind and an appreciation of a true TX experience. read more

I hate giving a bad review but this has to be the worst Whataburger in the State of Texas. I have been to many around the state and this one is subpar in comparison. Nobody should ever have to wait 20 minutes for a drink and a pie. I was unfortunately stuck in line, so I could not leave but did so when the vehicle in front of me left. Wish I could give less than one star. This location has botched every order I've made in the last 10 years and when trying to resolve it staff seems indifferent and unapologetic. The only delivery service offering their food in my area is Uber Eats and both of my recent orders went unfilled or canceled after waiting over an hour. Each time I've eaten inside or waited inside for an order the staff has been loudly inappropriate in their team communication. The quality of the food is noticeably worse than Elgin and Manor. This place really can't seem to get it together, unfortunately. There is consistently a 30+ minute wait regardless of which method you order (drive thru, walk in, curbside). Always good. Patty melt is where it's at. Only complaint is getting old fries. Other than that, WBurger is always good.

Service was good, the staff was friendly, and everyone enjoyed their food. My only two complaints would be, first, as customers leave they don't immediately disinfect the table and chairs, leaving limited places to sit since they already have every other spot closed. The service at this location was just awful. 3 years ago I made a Google review stating the poor customer service and the 2 hour wait time in the drive through just to receive the wrong food. Well, years later it's still the same. unfortunately for those who live in Bastrop Country if you decide on wanting Whataburger. Road trip 1st stop through Bastrop en route to Houston and my boy must have his Whataburger. Long ago it was my dad's go to, now it's his. This particular store was busy and pretty clean for a fast food joint. Good sign. They were efficient too. Perfect stop for a road trip. There's a local Whataburger we always go to but it takes forever to get our order even though it's tasty there. I wish Whataburgers are more consistent like chick-fil-a. It just depends which location you go to. Some aren't good. The sweet tea here wasn't as good as others. The chicken sandwich although huge tasted rubbery and premade. Their fries were good though. And no huge complaints with their sweet and spicy burger. Boy liked :) Most likely will stop here in the future going to Houston. I thought this location finally got better and I waited a year after they were on the news for frying a rat! But Another bad experience with this location. They are known for being slow and today no different. I decided not to order but they had moved a car to the right side AND had the drive through completely blocked. I don't know what to say about Whataburger anymore in general, except most locations are always slow, and the food flavor is mediocre at best. I know, I live in Texas and I should worship Whataburger; and in the grand scheme of things they are an OK "fast food" joint, I wouldn't say they are the best. Now with the franchise generalization out of the way, let me just say that every time I come to this specific location I will order a burger combo and I kid you not I unwrap it EVERY time to find that SOMEONE has smashed my burger almost flat. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone on a schedule This place has really gone downhill in the last two years. Used to eat here frequently but I've slowly stopped going because of the constant mistakes that the staff make. I can understand every now and then someone messing up but I mean it's been everything from charging me for a large but getting only medium fries/drink.
