Went at probably 1:15-1:20am ish and was the only one in line. Ordered a combo, one a la carte item and a large drink and the employees (two women) were so kind and smiley, especially for how early it was. Working in service, no matter what or how much you order, it's so nice to be reminded of small things like "the fries are hot so to be careful!" but to "have a good night and drive safe", without feeling like a nuisance for being one of the few people out this late. I am a longtime Whataburger fan. I think their burgers are the best among fast food burgers. But even Whataburger gets it wrong sometimes. Today provided a good example. I ordered a Whataburger Meal online. The order went through and I received confirmation via the app and by email. When I arrived at the Whataburger they told me that the online order system was down. I showed them my order confirmation on the app as well as the email. But they said I had to order and pay again. I did order and pay again. I'm only out $9.46, but having to pay twice for a Whataburger meal left a sour taste in my mouth that no amount of fancy ketchup will wash away. I certainly hope this isn't a harbinger of what Whataburger has in store for its loyal customers. So being from Louisville we do not have Whataburgers from our area. So I was excited to try this well known establishment finally. Me and a couple of buddies walk in and are the only ones there. Probably 5-8 employees I can see spread out in various areas. We walk to the counter and a gentleman says "i need you to wait a moment. She will take your order" as he points to a lady outside hanging signs on the door. So we sit and wait about 3 min for her as the other employees kinda just hang out. The lady finally arrives and she walks to a counter "May I help you". I walk up to order and she walks to 2 registers away and stands over there. So I guess we are moving now. I had to guess because she didn't use her words. So I order a Whataburger meal with a chocolate shake. I asked for my burger to be mayo and cheese only. She repeated it to me making sure that's what I said. So I pay and go sit down. A few moments later the food comes out. Fully dressed with everything and for some reason mustard. They also messed up my buddies order. The food itself was actually solid. I can see why it is popular. But the service at this specific location was horrendous. Not impressed today with this location, they're usually pretty fast with hot, crispy fries but NOT today. They were busy, the drive through was unorganized with only 1 lane open. The fries were not fresh which is odd considering how busy they were & such a bummer because the fries have to be eaten while fresh or they just aren't very good in my opinion. Tried the fish sandwich for the first time, nothing spectacular, plain, boring, no tartar sauce, the super hot fish made the few pieces of lettuce warm & soggy. Even had the Mgr walking around and getting drink refills for the seniors. Third, it's what you expect when you walk into a Whataburger. Such a bad bad experience 2x. I am from California, so this was my first time coming to Whataburger, so I was taking my time reading the menu. I asked the cashier what was in the patty melt, and she just stared at me with a dumbfounded look on her face, and told me she did not know and just stared at me. Well, I'm sorry, if you don't know, ask someone. Then I just asked again, well, do you know if there is mustard, and then finally, she asked. It is not that hard to just initially ask.. I decided to order the patty melt meal, and substitute the drink for a malt.. Then my sister ordered two triple meat burgers, one with add ons of grilled peppers, and both no buns. The cashier was saying there were no grilled peppers, but on the sign just behind her under ADD ONS, it is stated. As we were waiting.. and waiting.. finally our order came out, and of the order was messed up of the triple meat burgers. When we brought up issues with our order, we were not rude at all, but the way the employees responded to us, it was like it was our fault our order was wrong. We even had to ask for the malt because they did not give it to us, and we received no sorry for the wait. Second visit: Went thru the drive thru and the person getting our order was making it so complicated over the small and large malts/ shakes. Gave us the wrong order.. but did not notice until we got home. Management really needs to teach their employees about customer service!!!!!!!!! Strange drive-thru setup... they have two ordering windows with one window to pay. So, I merged with the other lane to pay at the window like every other double drive-thru I've ever been in, the young lady at the window was kind of rude about telling me I shouldn't have merged.
