This is a well run Whataburger location. Every time we have been here it's been great. We started stopping here a couple years ago on our trips down to Tampa/St Pete Beach. Now hubby makes it a point to stop here regularly. It's our fave location OuiOui. We always order custom orders & they have always been great here. He likes extra pickles, moi like extra jalapeños etc., They take a little longer but we don't mind. As this location has a very cool "ramen bar" tiny seating area by the window lol. Yep, there is a tiny "Ramen bar" seating area for 2 by the window that faces the wall. Very Romantic. Especially when it's raining a Florida monsoon out OuiOui. They always bring us our order in the "Ramen bar corner" along with a tray of condiments. We thinks the service here is the Bomb. OuiOui. Anyhoo, we have never been thru the drive-thru, we always go inside, as we have usually been in the car for a while by the time we arrive. Every stop, the bathrooms have always been clean, service kind & friendly, food hot & fresh, served to us in our fave Tiny "Ramen bar booth" facing the wall haha. We think this Whataburger is super cute & very unique, that's why it's a regular stop for us. Now, please bring back the chicken fajita taco!! Ugh, miss moi little chicken taco!! This is the worst Whataburger I've ever visited. After a TWENTY-FIVE minute wait behind only two cars, they STILL got my order wrong and ruined the burger. Whataburger.... More like whackaburger.... Was not impressed at all with my first try. Heard of the classic chain and have it a shot. First, burger is a good size burger I'll give you that. $2.70 for an extra patty is a bit steep but commonly priced. Fries are almost as good as McDonald's I'd also give them that. But nothing special in my opinion as taste like a normal burger and nothing special or different. Wasn't impressed overall. However, kudos to the staff at the location as they were kind and friendly. Place was clean and organized. Nothing fancy about the fancy ketchup and spicy ketchup is not spicy in any way and taste like normal ketchup. Tried it and not worth trying it again. read more

First time trying this establishment. I've gotta say that the service here is top notch. It's a lot better than Chic Fil A. If you're dining in they give you a number and they bring it out when it's ready on a tray and on the tray it has different condiments, napkins and straws so, you just take what you need. This is the first time in my 64 years on this Earth to put down a Whataburger. This is always been a staple restaurant of mine, but today it changed. I just got a simple Whataburger with cheese and jalapeno but the bread tasted like dough and didn't have that taste of baked bread buns. So I took off the top bun and ate the rest of it but discovered then that the meat just didn't have the same good taste I'm used to in Whataburger. I know this chain - Whataburger - and I prefer it to McDonald's and Burger King when it comes to most burgers. I like it a little more than In - N - Out, but that gap is narrowing as time passes. I already "met" Whatburger in DeFuniak Springs, FL a long time ago. It's not in the historic town proper, but right off of the ramps from I-10. And, after some 3 hours of motoring along this interstate and needing lunch, it made sense to go in rather than explore other options. I guess I was seeing this Whataburger under the "stress test." This was on a Sunday and, compared to the time before, the store was packed, as was the drive-thru. (I've never seen so many trucks in a drive-thru and didn't see that many passenger cars by comparison.) It could be that, after attending a religious service, heading to Whataburger is what people around these parts do. The service was still courteous enough. My questions were answered and I zeroed in on a grilled chicken burger with french fries and a soft drink. While the chicken sandwich was good, Whataburger has peeled back some in this niche, possibly because they're competing with Chick-fil-A. Again, I prefer Whataburger. I'd like to see them offer 2 variants of grilled chicken sandwiches at any given time. I don't like the deep fried ones. The french fries were okay, as in fairly standard tasting. As for soft drinks, Coke Zero is now available, which is a good thing because it tastes much more like original Coca Cola but without all the sugar and calories. They bring the food out to the table via the number you are given. With it being rather warm outside, I chose to eat inside and very few people were eating outside at the tables under their trademark orange and white striped umbrellas. The inside of the store is fairly nice. It took a long time - possibly 15 minutes - to get my order. It could be that they are short staffed, something we are seeing at many fast food places. The longer wait is mostly what the downgrade to 3 stars is all about. If a person goes in during the week, I doubt they'd see this. I have been craving Whataburger for months. We finally were on a road trip and there were going to be plenty on the way. This location looked brand new though. It looked they they opened that week because there was still dirt outside. My husband went in to order and pick up. He was in there for a good 30 minutes, which was ridiculous. There were 10 cars steadily at the drive thru that whole time. Hubs went to order sauce while he was waiting and a female staff member refused so another staff member gave the sauce to my husband and didn't charge him. The food was so delicious. I ordered the Patty Melt, extra sides of red pepper cream sauce, fries, and onion rings for us to share. Hubs ordered the Southern Bacon burger, which was a limited time special. I wish they would keep his burger on the menu because it really bursted with flavors. We ate in the car because we had our dog with us. She enjoyed the food as well lol. The order came out as correct as it could be but that was only my view. Hubs informed me he was there so long because they kept missing items and he had to keep asking. Nice location, clean, friendly staff, not crowded when I visited. Many cars in the drive-thru though. Not sure what other recent Yelp reviewers experienced, but I really enjoyed my visit. Half of dinning room tables closed for social distancing. Food delivered to table in under five minutes; delivery employee even brought tray with condiments (highly recommend the spicy ketchup). The jalapeño whataburger and fries were great. Plenty of jalapeños on the burger, along with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion and cheese. Enjoyed the fountain Barq root beer too; haven't had one in months. Haven't been to a Whatabuger in years, and this visit reminded me why they are so good. Wish I had one close to home. read more

Stopped by here for a bite on our way back to Atlanta but wow the service is extremely slow. Took about 30 minutes in the drive through line. The actual burger is 4 stars. It was really good! The bun was nice and soft and the fresh onions, pickles and tomato was the perfect combination. The patty is not very thick but cooked and seasoned well. Slow, so slow. This is my normal stop on the way to the beach and normally is good. Today, the lady taking my order did not want to be there and was less than pleasant. She was not rude, just basically wanted to be somewhere other than there at the moment. I then waited over 30 minutes to get my meal which was slightly above room temperature and lacking anything of flavor. I was hoping that after waiting so long for fast food that it would be hot, but not so much. With all the new restaurants in this area, I doubt I will be back. The plus side to this visit was the restrooms were very clean and you can tell they were just sanitized. The manager (my guess) was trying his best to speed food up and talking to customers to see how long they have been waiting. Not much of a "fast food" fan, but sometimes and in some places, that's the only option. On those rare occasions, I usually just grab a burger but decided to try the spicy chicken sandwich this time. The only other spicy chicken sandwich I have to compare it to is Chick Fil-A, which puts out a damned good one. The Whatsaburger version is similar, but definitely spicier, and on a brioche bun. Not bad! The restaurant was clean, with a friendly staff. The food took 18-20 minutes, which seemed a bit excessive for "fast food", but not a dealbreaker. It took a little while to get the food during dine-in. To be fair a slight rush came in after we ordered and I think it got lost in the shuffle. Work crew was apologetic. There were a few others in the dinning area that were a little put off about the rap music blaring out of the back...didn't bother me cause you know Wu Tang is for the children...but I could tell some thought other wise. I love Whataburger and drove to this place. I waited over 15 minutes at an empty drive thru. To get cold fries and burger that was made wrong. I had to go in and the young lady at the counter had a very nasty attitude. I explained that I ordered a plain burger and they added mustard and ketchup. She explained that, that is a plain burger because condiments are separate. Hmm! I am confused on how plain doesn't mean plain. Lol! She had to ask the manager if they should even remake the burger. Why the bad reviews? Please give this place a try true yelpers! We were treated politely, the service was fast and now let's talk about these burgers! I had the mushroom Swiss burger and whoa wow was this good. The sauce was really nice. It was hot, fresh and served by a super polite man. They all wore masks and gloves, the tables were limited with signs that kept the spacing in check. You feel pretty safe here. It was cleaned after each person left, even the tables unused were cleaned if there was someone at the one by it. Incredible. There are several gas station options here (all the same company), each side of the road, two one on side it is very convenient for travelers. Hmmm, our first time ever at a Whataburger. Let me start by saying, the COVID precautions were the best we've seen at any restaurant. They get an entire star just for that. Well done folks. As for the munchie stuff... we ordered the Jalapeño and Cheese burgers, mine with o-rings and his with fries. The burgers were huge. They were better than BK or Wendy's by a mile and reminded us of maybe more of a Steak 'n Shake burger or a 5 Guys (before 5Guys went to mini patties) but we couldn't taste the jalapeños at all. The fries were crazy salty, which we liked but the onion rings were the star of the show. I thought I should have ordered online when we were 25 minutes away. Stopped for lunch while on way to Venice, LA. Parking lot was full & drive-thru had long line. We were pulling a boat and parked by the 76 gas station. I went in and stood on the line while my traveling companion filled up the truck & parked. The line went fairly quickly considering there was only one employee , Alexis, to take & place orders. She was Pleasant , friendly & very efficient which was commendable given how busy it was. Our food came out quickly exactly as ordered. Their menu allows many options and customizations. Looking at the online menu with all the offerings made it much easier to decide. We've stopped here quite a few times over the years to grab lunch on our way back and forth from Jacksonville to Mississippi. The food is exactly what you'd expect from any Whataburger. Our order has always been correct and comes out hot and fast. It's pretty tasty for fast food. This particular restaurant gets four stars from me because of the friendly employees and the overall cleanliness of the entire place. They even have flatscreens in the restrooms! Now I'm not real sure who exactly is going to take the time to stand in a restroom at a fast food joint and watch television, but hey, if that's your thing, this Whataburger has made this possible for you!
