The downfall of Whataburger has been quite noticeable and apparent. Before they were sold to a BDT Capital Partners, LLC, the company really held true to their customer service and quality of food. That has slipped big time. Each time I go to one of their restaurants something is typically wrong or missing. This location is not an exception to that trend. Last Sunday I did a curb side order. I was told it would be ready within 4-6 minutes. I arrive and waited about 15 minutes past the quoted completion time. I get it that things can become busy, but the inside line and drive thru were running very well while the curbside order sat and waited. I was the only person picking up curb side. The food finally came out and the lady simply handed me the bag and walked back in. I got to my destination and noticed that the hash browns for my combo was missing. I put in a complaint to the restaurant and ignored. It has been a week now. No response. This is about the 3rd or 4th time this has happened with Whataburger with a missing item. Just easier to spend my time and money else where. They are spending all of their effort expanding across the US but have lost their foundation of quality food and customer service. If you can't maintain that, what is the use of expanding to just spread those new sub par values? Big mistake. Miss this location. I was in ATL this week for work and they opened up a brand new Whataburger and I intentionally skipped it for this exact reason. I refuse to be disappointed again. If you find a location that does great service, amazing food and has awesome quality control, let me know. I would love to give it a try. The old Whataburger is truly missed. read more

This review is for the Whataburger at 12401 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77077 on Sunday at 9:50am 12/3/23. 3 people working in the kitchen. Those 3 people seemed like good hard-working folks. The manager sat on his butt the whole time. Dirty tables, no coffee, no napkins and the manager could not be bothered to help his staff. Terrible leadership. I felt bad for the 3 on staff who were actually working. Breakfast came out 20 minutes after ordering. A few other customers cancelled their orders and walked out. Portions had shrunk in half since the last time I ate at a Whataburger over a year ago. The future for whataburger looks dim, unless they make some serious changes. read more

The double meat burger was delivered to my table cold with both patties of meat burnt. They left the mustard off as requested but forgot to add mayonnaise. The bun was dry and crispy apparently went through the toaster more than once. The front store staff had a difficult time placing my order and making change. This used to be one of the best Whataburger's in Houston. Now it's trying to slide to the worst. We used to come here several times a week but the food and service has gotten so bad it's about once every 2weeks, after today I don't plan on coming back. At this point, I'm pretty certain I've sold my soul to Whataburger. Literally every time I see their iconic logo, I literally debate with myself mentally on whether or not I should go for it. This not only shows that their marketing is working on me, but it also is a testament to how much I enjoy their food. Compared to other Whataburger locations, this Westchase spot isn't going to be among the best. There are some days where they're on top of it all: pipin' hot food, southern hospitality service with quick drive thru experiences. Other days they're slow, sometimes orders are wrong, and super sloppy handling of the food / subpar presentation (i.e. terribly wrapped items, spillage, etc.) But like any fast food chain, every spot will eventually level out. This location does its job and I get my breakfast burger. One thing I will point out is that this spot is significantly better late at night than they are in the daytime. I'm not sure how to explain it, but the service is beefed up post midnight. Maybe it's a Houston thing for post nightlife eats? read more

Way out in Westchase, close to my favourite Shipley's location, and this is Texas's favorite burger - but honestly it's not as good as In-N-Out, which is not that good - and it's a little better than Five Guys, but that's like saying it's better than licking a toilet bowl. I like the convenience of a place that's open 24/7! I'm not a Whataburger junkie but I do like a honey chicken biscuit or a nice warm, gooey cinnamon roll in the early hours of the morning! I went to this Whataburger July 17th of this year, and might I say, this has been some of the worst service I've ever received. I ordered 2 of the classic breakfast with no modifications, and it toke 15 minutes for me to receive my order. The wrong order. I waited 10 more minutes and they came out with my food. Again, still not what I ordered. I waited longer to hopefully receive my correct food, and I got one of my meals, with the other one being incorrect. During this experience, our server was outright disrespectful and rude while we were patient with her. The manager that we later spoke to wasn't much better. I ended up just asking for a refund and taking my business elsewhere. I think that this establishment would benefit from having a proper conversation about customer service and how to handle their own mistakes. I go to this Whataburger location frequently and it's always good. Just last night I went with my boyfriend. As soon as we walked in we were greeted, which was nice. For our orders, I ordered a number 13, which is chicken tenders, fries, and toast, and your choice of sauce (I got gravy.) My boyfriend ordered a number 2, which is a double-patty burger, and he made sure to add cheese (of course it comes with fries and a drink.) At most places we always get unsweet tea; despite it being almost 10PM, the tea still tasted great. We dined in, so our food was brought to us. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. To top it off, the employees would check up on everyone to make sure everything was going well. Overall, this is a good Whataburger location. Don't do curbside order here. I placed an order for a medium vanilla shake. By 10 minutes, I understood that's sometimes it's busy. By the 20 minute mark, the car that pulled in a few minutes after me got their order. By that time, I was understandably angry and frustrated. I was really impressed with the service this afternoon. It was quite busy during lunch rush today. Both drive through lane was at least 6 cars deep. The food did take nearly 40 minutes. The difference was that a staff member did come out to apologize for the longer than usual wait. Being in the restaurant industry for quite some time, I find that very helpful to stop by to say something about the timing issue. Whataburger arguably serves the best fast food burgers out there. Yes, that means better than in n out. I've been to this location a few times and it had been fine before. However, the last time I came here, I was completely underwhelmed by the quality of the burger they served me. I always get #5 - Bacon Cheeseburger and normally, I would be happy after I've finished my meal. However, this last time, my bacon cheeseburger was so sad. Yes; sad! The patty seemed so thin and not flavorful. The bacon strips were soggy and the cheese was not melted. It seemed like they just took a slice of cheese and just slapped it onto the patty and put a bun on it. Just sad. The service has always been okay and it's great that the dining room is always open so you can come here and dine in after a late night out. I did have to drive out of my way to come to this particular location because I was with a few friends who live closer to this location. Whataburger is a staple! This particular location is most convenient for me to frequent. Service is pretty good. The only problem I have is during late nights going through the drive-thru. It seems to take an extra long time late at night. I have a few items from the menu that are on my rotation. Patty melt, Monterey Melt, Chophouse Cheddar (if in season), Honey BBQ chicken strip sandwich, double Whataburger with cheese and bacon. I never get a bad meal from Whataburger. The fries are great: crispy and nicely salted. Dip them in their spicy ketchup and you're good to go. For breakfast, I'll either get the taquito with bacon or the honey chicken biscuit. The honey chicken biscuit is to die for. Whataburger is always a treat. I rarely come here for lunch because I'm usually at work and usually in a different part of town. When I do have the luxury to visit my Whataburger location I choose to dine in. I've always had a pleasant time with food and service.
