Went to try the new refresher, asked if the base was caffeinated and what it's made of because my friend has allergies to caffeine. They said they didn't know and it would take too long to check. So she didn't get to try. Very sad.

Was excited to try one of their burgers, only to be disappointed unfortunately. I love avocado bacon burgers - they are my absolute fave, so why not try one here. I asked them to put the sauces on the side, but the one most important item forgotten was the avocado! Ugh. Went back up to the counter, and they apologized and gave me a large cup of avocado. The burger flavor itself was dry and blah, bacon and lettuce were bits and scant. Fries were nothing to be excited about. Positive points- service was great, employees were friendly and the restaurant itself was super clean inside.

When in Texas, you give Whataburger a shot and that's something what I had to do when I was here. I was on my way to San Antonio when I realized that I had some room in my stomach and there was a Whataburger approaching, destiny had become a reality. This location had a decent amount of people in it for 11:40AM and it took a little while to get my food (it's lunch time, it's expected). I ended up ordering the BBQ chicken strip melt with French fries since it was loudly screaming at me to get it from the line, and let me tell you, I do not regret this decision. The sandwich was hot, juicy, and full of oh so much flavour, I'm talking a next level of fast food greatness (I'm being a little dramatic). On top of having a great sandwich the French fries were pretty dang good too. They were crispy, hot, and the best kind of potato. Overall, I loved my first experience at Whataburger and I will definitely be returning the next time I find myself in the great state of Texas. If you need a quick lunch, come on in and give this location a shot!

So found out what they do with all their leftover fries - make chili cheese fries ! Not a big burger fan so decided to try the great looking large looking order of the new chili cheese fries. SO disappointed. Actually threw half of it out. The fries were chewy and stale. There was probably about 2 full tablespoons of chili and very little cheese. I ended up bringing home, adding cheese and nuking - still no better! I will say the few bites of chili that I had, were pretty good - just needed a lot more - or at least enough to cover the fries.

Walking inside was even worse, it was unbelievably crowded. There wasn't a single open table, and my mom and I barely managed to find seating on stools in the very back. My mom wasn't a fan of how overcrowded it was. She said they really need to enforce a max capacity because it was so crowded you could actually smell people's body odor. On the positive side, our order was taken quickly, and the food came out really fast. The burger was incredible. It was perfectly seasoned, and the bun had a nice toasted crunch around the edges. The cheese fries, though... hard pass. The cheese hardened almost immediately, so every time I picked up a fry, the whole thing came up in one giant clump. Freddy's definitely has much better cheese fries. My mom ordered regular fries, and she described them as "spongy." After trying it myself, I knew exactly what she meant. They didn't have that crispy, fluffy texture, instead it had a spongy texture. The pink lemonade was another disappointment. It was way too tangy for both of us. Overall, I really enjoyed the burger, and it's good enough that I'd absolutely go back. I just think In-N-Out could improve the overall experience by managing the crowd better, using a cheese that doesn't harden so quickly. and tweaking the pink lemonade recipe.

I went to go see if five guys had taken a page from that book. No they have not. Don't get me wrong. It's a good product. The little burger is more meat than on a single at In-N-Out Burger. Their fries are markedly better and a more generous portion. Nobody has the diversity of toppings for a burger than they have here at five guys. Of course everyone looks at value differently and who am I to judge. For my money? I'm not going to spend 75% more to eat here than In-N-Out which is about two blocks away. This is a place where you can find a clean environment. The food is cooked absolutely fresh and the service isn't bad.

One bite and I was right back to that very first Fatburger, standing in a tiny burger shack with the smell of grilled beef drifting into the street. To me, this is the quintessential West Coast burger, so seeing a Fatburger open in Texas still feels a bit surreal. They're still doing it the way I remember: fresh, handmade patties, perfectly seasoned, piled with crisp veggies and whatever condiments you want--because here, they don't force a "house style" on you. I always get mine "all the way" with mayo, mustard, and a slice of classic American cheese. And yes, I order their XXL because I'm slowly training up for the Triple X challenge I dreamed about as a kid. The fat fries--Fatburger's take on steak fries--still hit the spot. The service is friendly, and despite everything being cooked to order, the food comes out faster than you'd expect. The dining room is small, just like the old shacks I grew up with, but there's extra seating on the patio if you need it. All I can say is this: once you've had a Fatburger, you'll never look back at that other California burger chain.

The outdoor area is large and spacious, and the overall atmosphere is very family-friendly. It has a relaxed vibe that feels just right for families with young children. One small observation: I do wish some parents paid a little more attention to their kids. It had recently rained, and a boy was throwing rocks into a puddle, causing water and mud to splash onto my husband's back. We politely asked him to stop, but he continued, and we couldn't spot a parent nearby. As for the food, it was served quickly, arrived hot, and tasted great. No complaints there.
