I was given a gift card for Whataburger, and surprisingly, it has lasted quite a long time. I don't usually get fast food, but I like the occasional order of fries and the rare burger, sandwich, or shake. And my wife, sees Whataburger fries as a tasty treat, which is why I picked up some fries after work for her today. The Tatum and Cactus location is the only Whataburger location I visit. This evening, I opened up the app, double checked that a promotion I had hadn't expired yet, placed an order for pick-up, and confirmed that I had a gift card as my way to pay. Upon arrival, I informed someone at the counter of my name and what I was picking up. The fries were ready almost instantly, and they were piping hot. I had a fry or two in the car, and the rest were shared with my wife when I got home less than five minutes later. They were still hot. There were other meals over the years where I remembered eating in the restaurant though I usually place an order to go or order it at the counter. The service is typically fast though every now and then, there was such a queue that I had a wait for a little while. Through the Whataburger app, I have earned points and thus rewards though I have an issue at least with Whataburger that I'd earn some good points to redeem food and then forget to do the redeeming so my points would expire. One of these days I will remember. I also enjoy the occasional offer including get a free sandwich or burger with the purchase of a drink and fries. Sometimes, the offer is for a completely free item, especially after it has been a while since I have visited. What-a-Buger quality has hit the bottom while the price has gone insane for fast junk food. Degrading staff in front of consumers is very distasteful. Not even 5 minutes later another manager walked in and Yoli's attitude changed immediately and started sweet talking her staff to the other manager. In the past 40 years or so I've seen many fast food restaurants come and go here in the PV area. The key to their success has been management, customer service, and product. The people in the PV area ask for all three as there are many dining choices in PV. There are two different fast food places near Tatum and Cactus that have continued to increase in popularity as they understand management and service. I've been a regular customer at WHATABURGER since it first opened in PV. After my last visit I will not be returning anytime soon. When I walked in at lunch time there wasn't anyone at the register. The customer behind me and I stood there for a couple of minutes waiting for someone to acknowledge us. A young kid wearing a headset named Harold came over and took my order then walked off to the food area. I called him back over and asked him if my transaction was done and for a receipt. I started to tell him it was pretty rude and unclear to walk off like that. Then he interrupted me with excuses. The customer behind me walked out, I didn't blame him for walking out. Harold's attitude was defensive, egotistical, arrogant and a whole lot more...a teenager! We all have seen people on power trips so I don't need to explain that one. There is a young lady at WHATABURGER named Breanna that has always been friendly and offers excellent customer service to customers. I really wish that WHATABURGER would bring back the other manager, Stephanie. Stephanie ran the best crew and customer service that will insure customer popularity at WHATABURGER in PV. Hadn't been to Whataburger in a dog's age - decided to try something new. I spotted a patty melt on the menu, so I decided to give it a go. It's a double double (two patties/two slices of cheese) - that was a surprise (would've loved that when my metabolism was faster!) - but would prefer a single patty nowadays... Taste was good - classic patty melt, but the toasted bread wasn't greasy like a typical patty melt - a point off for inauthenticity, but one back on for not having greasy fingers when I was done! ;-) Only problem was the ketchup package - holy cow - near impossible to open! It's the plastic cup with a peel of foil lid style, but the plastic rim the lid was stuck to was so flimsy, whichever corner I tried to peel back just folded up - minor bit, but corporate needs to evaluate that implementation!! I made my first visit to a Whataburger tonight. The best thing that I can say about them is that I was very unimpressed. It's Thanksgiving, but they appeared to be fully staffed to me. They had a few cars in the drive-through and a little more than a handful of people in the lobby. The person taking the orders was very nice. I ordered the double Whataburger meal with a shake and their spicy chicken sandwich. I sat down and waited, and a couple of other people came in and placed their orders. The guy who placed his order behind me, asked me about how long I had been waiting. I said not Long About seven or eight minutes at that point. He and I sat and waited another 7 to 8 minutes and they brought his food to him at which time he said how did I get my food before this guy, meaning me. The worker said oh and went back to the back in a few minutes later came out with a small bag that I knew didn't contain everything I ordered. I looked in the bag, and there was a half full container of fries and a burger. I asked where the chicken sandwich was and he said hold on. I hear the guy in the back yell to put on another spicy chicken sandwich. The guy comes back out and says it's gonna be another seven or eight minutes. Mind you I've already been here for about 20 minutes and was given my shake immediately after placing my order. My shake was now almost gone because I had drank it during the wait and now I'm being asked to wait another seven or eight minutes. I asked him to give me my money back for the chicken sandwich. The manager came upfront and offered a half hearted apology before giving me my money back for the chicken sandwich. For a fast food establishment this one stands out. Not sure about other locations but this one is spotless and shiny clean, big to me. Janice, the older lady that took my order and checked on me was super friendly knowledgeable and funny. The staff here were all friendly and greeted me. The food was very good quality both in flavor and the care they took in presentation, which speaks volumes to me about their attention to detail and professionalism. This location is open 24 hours. Horrible service and food. Waited 22 minutes for breakfast bowl. I think they were waiting for chicken to lay eggs. They have a sign that says free coffee for veterans and the cashier knew nothing about it. She called the manager over and I had to show him the sign. Even tried calling the restaurant and corporate but they refuse to issue a refund for this poor standard food. The lettuce and tomatoes were literally dark, wilted and stale and we had to discard the sandwich as it was also soaking dripping in aioli. I moved to Phoenix a year ago from San Diego and apparently there are no Whataburgers in California(needs to be rectified ASAP). The location is very convenient on Tatum between shea and paradise village drive and they have drive-thru. When I walked in I was very impressed with the cleanliness(weak spot at many other FFs)and design with cool art. Manager Gabriel suggested their signature green chili double hamburger. He was very professional, communicated great and last but not least, my food was in my hands in 5 minutes. The burger was hot, delicious and huge which was great because I was starving and I workout(I like calories to burn off). My strawberry shake was thick, creamy and delicious. My fries were also crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside how I like them. Counter lady Ashley did well too. I'm excited to try their other items. Highly recommended. read more

Did a 1:30am drive-thru after a long day of travel. Have never had Whataburger before so had to go for a couple burgers. Got the double whataburger and the patty melt with some fries. Price wasn't bad, service was fantastic - they were patient and helped me choose what I wanted. Took just a few minutes for the food to come out and it was delicious. Definitely one of the top fast food burgers I've ever had, and I'll definitely be back to try more. This location was a great example of the restaurant for us. read more

This is a solid Whataburger. The building is new and the grounds are clean, and the staff have been pretty friendly. There are two things that I love about Whataburger; the fries and the spicy ketchup. I really do think they are probably the best fast food fries out there. Plus, the spicy ketchup has just a little kick to jazz up your dipping sauce for them. The mediocre: the burgers themselves. They aren't the worst fast food burgers out there, but they also aren't the best. They also go heavy on the mustard, which I'm not a fan of, but that's just personal preference. We have been to this location before and I think it's specifically this location, they need to get it together and they did not give us a receipt. I went to this Whatabuger location to try the limited time BLT. There was no one in line when I got there and the service was super slow. I was also charged for the side of ranch that I ordered, but didn't receive and it's already annoying that they even charge for it. The amount of bacon on the BLT was underwhelming and minimal considering it's a BLT. I can get a better BLT with more bacon for less somewhere else. read more

SOMETHING'S WRONG AT THIS LOCATION. I love Whataburger. I know the location of almost every Whataburger in town, and eat at several of them regularly. Most are great. Some are excellent. But THIS one? ... horrible. Some months ago I dropped in here at PV Mall for lunch. The place was empty of customers, yet the entire staff (all female) were holding a giggling chatfest behind the soda machine. Some looked at me and went back to their chat. I waited almost 10 minutes to see what might happen next (nothing!), then began to walk out. One of the girls lifted her head and shouted "Can I help you?" Feh. I had a good lunch at the Thomas/Scottsdale Road branch instead. This morning (9/10/23) the Irish Redhead and I decided to give PV another chance, this time for breakfast. Staff (mostly male) were on point, and got the order down. Then we waited 20 minutes. Nothing. Finally our breakfast got delivered -- and both orders were wrong. Mine lacking standard ingredients. Irish Redhead ordered chicken, got beef. Sent them back, waited another 15 minutes, got cold food. No apologies -- not for the wait, not for the errors -- no make-good, nothing. A word of advice -- even if you're hungry, AVOID THIS LOCATION. There are PLENTY of other Whataburgers not too far away. We're not going back there ... and neither should you. read more

You guys are lucky to have this well managed and kept Whattaburger. This is only my second time going here. First time from another state I was disappointed but second time's a charm. The burgers were very good. Had the mushroom and the regular 2 patty burger. They were delicious and were made great. The fries were freshly made and the dipping sauces were to rave for. The chicken tenders were newly fried as well and the peach shake was very refreshing. Basically we didn't have a single bad order! - Customer Service. Very helpful and attentive. Took the time to answer all our questions and made good solid recommendations as well. Very hospitable and the kitchen was fast. Did not wait too long to get our grub. - Atmosphere. The thing we observed most was how clean the pace was. Very good and enjoyable dining experience. Bravo to the management. Please keep it up! - Others. Military friendly establishment. First off, let me say i love Whataburger. As far as fast food burgers go, Whataburger is at the top of my list. I was pretty excited when this one opened since it is so close to my house, but I don't think I'll be going back to this one. I've been a few times now and they've never gotten my order right. I always ask for no cheese, I've always gotten cheese. A few times I've tried to experiment with some toppings, mostly trying to add onion to things. That's never worked out well. The last two burgers were really the icing on the cake for me though. One was supposed to be a Whataburger, no cheese add mayo. The attendant repeated the order back to me twice (once at the order box and once at the drive thru window). What I ended up with was a Whataburger with cheese and extra mustard. The last one was a green chili double, no cheese add onion. What I got was a Whataburger with cheese and jalapeno. I mean, I guess this place is fine if you're willing to play burger roulette, but I don't eat enough fast food to gamble with the outcome. It's been a conscious effort to eat less fast food so when I go to a fast food place it's because I'm craving something specific. All that said, it's still Whataburger, so it's still delicious and worthy of the three stars I have them... But then again I love Whataburger. read more
