Mmm! I had a reward so I decided to use it to try out the whatawings. I ordered the honey bbq wings. They were served in a big plastic bowl with lid. They had a lot of sauce on them, a little too much for my liking, but they were good and plentiful. They were heavily breaded, but still had plenty of chicken breast inside. I ordered curbside. I should have known it was going to go bad when the person gives me the bags and doesn't give me the fries for ALL of my meals. I had to go inside to get them. The person handling my food set down chemicals he was using and went to touch food WITHOUT washing his hands at all. Got ignored when I tried to flag down a manager. Fries went in the trash. Then I go to my chicken sandwich to see that the avocado I PAID for wasn't on there and lettuce they put on ALL the sandwiches was obviously expired. Filed a complaint and it's been radio silent. This was the 5th time they got our order wrong. But this time, we got someone else's order (Anastacia's I believe). We called and spoke with manager (Thomas and also a female) said come in and we'll make your food fresh. We go right over and Thomas says it's after breakfast so come back tomorrow. Of course this was NOT OK, we said you just said come in and we'll make it fresh. Thomas (being condescending) wave his hand and repeated himself like I was bothering him. Then he said, you can get lunch, I said I was not there to spend more money (he did not offer any concession). Barbi's nose has been all stuffy lately and sometimes produces gross stuff, but it's cute because I mean look at her. So her new nickname (until her cold clears up) is "Whatabooger." Anyway. Lots of good reviews for this Whataburger, but that must be for the day shift. The night shift has major issues. And they are kinda iffy with service and long lines and slow turnaround times and cold food that should be hot. But I do love about Whataburger, and there is this brand new green chile bacon burger which is absolutely delicious. If you stick to some of their specialty burgers and specifically some of the better ones, then we're talking some absolutely delicious stuff. And sometimes when the fries are piping hot and covered in salt, those can be really good too. read more

Went here around 2am on 1/4 and left extremely disappointed. Not only was the staff at drive thru was rude and short, they forgot my side that was paid for, the fries were so old they were cold and hard, and I was only given 2/3 chicken strips. People ask how you leave a place without getting what you paid for, but it's pathetic to have to hold up the drive thru to check my food before driving off because they failed to provide me with a product that I paid for. I could understand condiments and napkins/straws ( not even considering that they forgot all of those too) but to not provide the stuff that people's hard earned money has paid for is unacceptable. read more

I have not been to a restaurant (sit down or fast food) with better customer service in the last 3 years. The crew here are energized and happy to work and to serve their guests. They are truly outstanding. I went twice, at radically different times--lunch and 1am--and both times I was met with greetings and smiles from all the employees. Just as important was their attention to my order--Bacon Cheeseburger, no tomatoes, extra mustard. Both times my order was correct, and the burger was excellent, and the fries were piping hot. Other restaurants should send their employees to the Whataburger on Evans Road for training in customer service and order consistency. At a time when all too often it is difficult to find a store whose employees make the experience a positive one, the people at this Whataburger are creating a service plus, welcoming, positive environment. This location is near the house so we go pretty often. There's been several occasions where our order is off or things are missing but usually we just let it go. We went a few weeks ago and we came home with an incomplete order but finally decided to call and ask about it. We called the number off our receipt and got a guy named Chris. He said it would be no problem and he would comp our next meal to make it right. Awesome. We appreciated it. Today, my husband worked late and we decided to take them up on their offer. He explained the situation when he pulled up and they said it would be no problem, just come to the window. Unfortunately, when he got to the window, the lady at the register had no idea what he was talking about. He had to explain the situation again. A guy was called over to speak with him and that guy didn't seem to care about the situation at all. My husband always tries to be a nice guy, he noticed there were cars behind him so he offered to go inside and figure it out. The guy agreed and he parked, got out of the car and went inside. At that point, the guy who was "helping" disappeared. The people up front had no idea who he was talking with either. He was exhausted from work and paid for the meal. To make matters worse, the person at the register messed up his order by adding an additional drink so he had to wait to get refunded. He then waited for his meal and on his way out he saw the guy he was talking to hanging out in the back. The lack of disrespect that the employee couldn't even be bothered to continue the conversation with him just blows my mind. Finally, he gets home with our meal and our burgers were wrong. From start to finish this was a terrible experience. They stated they didn't have a Chris who worked there. So was I lied to? I called the number off the receipt and we only go to that location. Did an employee make up something in the hopes that I would forget? And why would an employee start to "help" and then run to the back to ignore a customer? I'm not sure what happened tonight but I know that it was some of the worst customer service that we've ever received. I understand it's just fast food but even by those standards this completely missed the mark. **Also, after reading reviews from others it seems like night shift is an issue in general. I even saw a post from another Yelper who got hassled when trying to get an order corrected. Amazing. I guess feedback isn't really taken into consideration. Staff here needs better training and a change in management. This location is an outright embarrassment to Whataburger. read more

For one, the concept of ordering via the app is moot if you still require me to go through your insanely backed up drive thru after a certain time. Touching up on that, have you ever seen Zootopia with the DMV sloths? Yeah, that team is who runs this location. It is almost mind-blowing how slow a fast food place can be. Texas and Whataburger go together like San Antonio Spurs and championship basketball:) Especially since Whataburger is now based out of San Antonio. I usually get the same thing - Bacon cheeseburger, but have been known to slip the chicken strips in. The food is always made to order, so it is always fresh. They bring it to your table and always ask if you need anything else. Of course you have to get the spicy Whataburger catsup (and if you are hooked on that, you can get it at HEB). The help is always friendly, and they really try to make sure you are completely satisfied. They also seem to do a great job in hiring both our Senior citizens and special needs folks. I have to have a Whataburger at least once a month, don't you? It sure makes you glad to live in Texas. I am thinking about those chicken strips now. I may have to go back real soon:) read more

I came for some chicken strips to go and that's exactly what I received. The customer service was quick and friendly and extremely efficient. I've been to other (to remain unnamed) places that either take forever to get to you because they are understaffed, are not trained to operate the machine very well, or just look unhappy at their jobs. This Whataburger, is nothing like that. The chicken took about 5 minutes to appear, but it took the cashier about 2 minutes to open a paper bag. We laughed about it together as I could see the bag was struggling to open. Great, crispy chicken strips and fast service. Prices are great too at under $7 a meal. I originally have had great experiences here until the last month or so. I have been told to pull up to first window (Lane A) only to then get told I should have been told to get in the second lane outside lane (Lane B) at least three times now. Today I couldn't even get over to the lane B because the lane was full and the ladies at the first window (Lane A) just stood there while I waited until I could move. The truck behind me just had the same treatment of being told they couldn't help him and to go to lane B. Now he's completely blocked both lanes and no one can pass because he wasn't told the right place to go either. I only ordered four small items, it took about 15 minutes to get these. Even better is on my receipt, it says Lane A, which is the inside lane. This was the lane I was told was the wrong one and that they couldn't help me. I'm keeping the stars at four because the sweet girl that brought us our food apologized multiple times and said we did not have to pay because we had waited so long. This Whataburger has always had fantastic food, but man this is the third time this issue has happened and it's really starting to brush me the wrong way. read more

Long live spicy ketchup! Whataburger is a Texas institution, and this is a great example of the typical Whataburger. It's quality Texan food, fast. This is a nice Whataburger, located next to a Walgreens. It's difficult to get in and out of here due to all the traffic, one way streets, and weird intersections around here. But once you get here, the food is delicious. The staff here is exceptionally friendly. Whataburger is always good about greeting you with a smile, and being nice about all the questions that people ask them. "Is Whataguy here?" "Where do your tomatoes come from?" I've brought my granddaughter here a couple times in the past 2 months. Both times service was incredibly slow. Today we were in line for 20 minutes only to discover our order was wrong. We couldn't understand the person taking the order but clearly enunciated when placing our order. I told the person handing us the order that we were in a hurry as my granddaughter had to be somewhere. She closed the window on us and walked away. I finally got someone's attention who then "barked" at me when he opened the window. He got somebody else involved and I said just give us the order that was made as we need to get somewhere. Then someone else came to the window with a receipt to tell us we were wrong. I repeated we needed to be somewhere and just give us the order that was made. The fries were lukewarm and meh. The burger was only ok. Great customer service would have been, "I'm so sorry the order wasn't as you requested and the wait longer than expected. I hope you'll give us a chance to do better next time." We would have left satisfied instead of frustrated. read more

This place is pretty delicious. Waterburger is never ever a bad choice here in San Antonio texas. This waterburger located on Evans and 281 is delicious. My favorite worker is there at 10pm his name is JoJo and he is so nice and sweet. He helped me taking my order and brought the food out piping hot. This Waterburger is never a disappointment. I've been here for a few years now located here in San Antonio around the Evans Road Area. My son Dax who is 8 loves his burgers with extra Mayo and bacon. My husband normally gets a fucked up gut from eating Arby's and Wendy's but not at water burger from Evans and Texas San Antonio in USA on evans road. I love this water burger.
