I think the biggest issue with this restaurant is location. It's not on a main road, and a hill blocks your view of it. You really have to know where you are going to get to it. We actually missed it and ended up parking in the lot of another business. We walked across the parking lot, found the door, and walked in. There was hardly anyone in the place. However, we were greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere we wanted. The wait staff double teamed us as a brand new waitress was being trained. When the new waitress found out it was our first time, she told us it was her first day too. She was so sweet. They gave us plenty of time to review the menu, and then they gave us some recommendations. We ended up ordering 2 different kinds of burgers and split some fries. While waiting for our order, we noticed it was hard to communicate due to so much noise. What I mean about noise is that multiple tv's were on, music was playing, and a DJ was announcing a Jeopardy game to unknown folks (no one in the main dining area was listening). It seemed like the food took a long time to come out. When it did, it seemed like it had been sitting out a while as it was not very warm. Biting into my burger surprised me. It was really good. Recently reopened! We loved it before and still do. The menu has switched up a bit but it's still Awesome. They serve burritos as well that sound amazing. We went in for lunch and everything was great but they have servers now. She was lovely and our whole lunch was great. The music playing was a bold choice with all the kids in the place but, that's a minor complaint. My son had a cheeseburger and it was super juicy and hot. The hot tots are delicious and super seasoned and crispy. We also had the Cotija Fries which were PHENOMENAL. I've never tasted loaded fries like these. It was Hump Day, and it had been too long since I went back for a visit since they have been open again. Some of my favorite staff was working the bar and floor so right when I walked in and saw them I knew this was gonna be a good time. Brianna served me my Jellyfish beer, and had my "Old Time" hot dawg in no time. My first hot dawg from the Dog Haus in I don't know how long and boy oh boy it was amazingly delish. I could have ordered and destroyed 4 of these. There was also a live radio crew broadcasting. I dont remember the station but they were also streaming a live feed on the TV's. Tequila was also working, and she was very nice, and working hard. I was going to delete my app just now since this location closed earlier this year & the other location is far from me. I previously saw a location notice showing they're closed as of 1/31/25. ;-( I just checked Yelp first right now & saw open hours??!! I selected the main website to check locations & sure enough the hours showed so I figured I'd call to verify. Sure enough, the gentleman who answered said they're not quite open as they're finishing up some construction but are slated to open on Dec. 19!! I said "Yay!! I'm glad you're back!!" First time back since reopening. Wow, no more order at the counter and get your own drinks. Real table service! Beth took care of us and checked in often. Even mentioned the breakfast burritos are made any time of day. As usual hot dogs and hamburgers served on Kings Hawaiian buns. Hubby had the cowboy hotdog with perfectly crispy tater tots. This was the 2nd attempt to eat here. The first time about a month ago the food was cold...thought I would try again and the service was absurd. I was seated promptly however I sat there for about 20 minutes and a server (there were at least 7 servers; more than enough to handle the current number of patrons) never came to my table. We had a server/ bartender named Bri & she was the most amazing person we've ever met. She was very attentive, very friendly & very helpful with the menu! Part 2 of my earlier review. When I arrived home, it wasnt as I'd order with the extra 1.00 for the Hawaiian Roll. I called spoke to a lovely Manager whose name starts with an A. She was apologetic and said, "there is an order there with my name on it, come and get it, if I like and I could keep both." I thought, ok, someone who knows how to deescalate. I agreed to come back. I live very close and and really wanted that sandwich. It is a very tasty sandwich, I must add. The Hot Chick. I get there and there is another bag there with my name on it. I had the original bag with me just to show the ticket and the sandwich received. Before leaving, I checked the bag. It was the same incorrect sandwich. The Manager, A, was again apologetic and offered to get me another sandwich. At this point, I'm afraid of what may come out of the kitchen for me and declined the third attempt and just asked for my money back. Manager A seemed really concerned and said she would refund my money. I left the two sandwiches and went home without my hot chicken. I am saying all this to say, thank you to Manager A for at least trying to fix what occurred and showing a little empathy for my experience. I appreciate your effort. My daughter and I had lunch there today with my 3 yo granddaughter. I ordered a chicken sandwich, my daughter had one of their hotdogs. We both ordered cheese fries and we ordered a plain hotdog for my granddaughter. We ordered 2 sodas. We were told they only had canned soda. That seemed odd since we could see a fountain drink machine. The service was good. Our waitress was attentive and kind.HOWEVER.... When we got the bill it was over $60!! Dog Haus Complaint Tonight, Feb 11, I experienced adequate service from both Melody & Alana. However, we had no idea the location closed at 9pm and were informed properly but knew we needed to consume our beverages appropriately, as we thought any establishment would. Jeff, the so-called manager, comes after our server informed us of our time to leave and reinforced that we needed to finish our beverages and that it was past time of closing. Which was understanding, but as he walked away, Jeff uttered an uncalled for racial/prejudice remark saying "I know how to speak Spanish by the way!" As I replied "Nobody here said anything in Spanish, so why would you bring that up?". I had never experienced this at an establishment, especially by a manager, so I wanted notify Dog Haus that I will be following up this occurrence with the public, especially that I see no evidence to anything being done for the maltreatment that was exhibited by a sad excuse of a manager. I myself am fortunate, especially for Jeff, that my family was as cordial as they were and my family does not let immature remarks fatigue them as childish as he likely anticipated us to be based on his assumptions or behavior. I'm extremely disappointed, since I very much liked the only 2 locations left in San Antonio, 1 of which, Stone Oak, I'll never return to from here on forth and ensure I tell anyone else to steer clear unless something is done with the manager "Jeff". read more

I called to place an order for pick up talked to a live person who said I had to use a 3rd party delivery service and she didn't drive so couldn't help me with directions. Showed up in oerson no one greeted me I stood around to order everyone ignored me. Finally I saw a touch screen so I placed my order awkwardly back and forth made my selections and subbed an Italian roll for the Hawaiian roll on my hot dog took off the sauerkraut. Wanted it to go obviously but no option then noticed the sign lying in the counter- saying this was their To go ordering option. (Why would not have placed better signage about the change in ordering system? ) Waited, sat at the bar still no greeting. Then introduced myself and said I was waiting for to go, no offer of a water or anything while I waited. I got my order and left. Only time I spoke to someone. We love this spot. We have been going there for a while. They have some great hot dog options along with chili cheese fries or tots. The corn dog is very tasty. Great beer selection as well as a small bar with harder alcohol. They did disappear for a while due to some sort of franchisee embezzlement, but it is under new ownership and management. First time visiting the Dog Haus. It was absolutely a pleasant surprise. We got the Southwestern Tots as an appetizer, and they were fantastic. We were in the rare mood for a smashburger, so we got the regular cheeseburger and a Ringer burger. Both sandwiches had perfect char, and weren't dried out. The special sauce on the cheeseburger really elevated it. The onion rings and BBQ sauce on the Ringer were a delicious combination. A second patty is completely unnecessary (lesson learned). We were a little apprehensive about the sweetness that the King's Hawaiian buns might add. But it was a perfect compliment to the burger. The staff was friendly and attentive. Tried Dog Haus and left feeling underwhelmed. Spent $42 for two kids meals, an appetizer, and a side of fries. On the positive side, the fries were actually very good and probably the highlight of the meal. But they were battered so that's why. The chili was decent but nothing memorable. Unfortunately, the kids did not finish their hot dog sliders and said they did not like them, which is usually a pretty reliable test. The hot dog variety also felt limited, mostly different bacon and cheese combinations rather than truly distinct options. This was my third visit and it just keeps getting better and better. I ended up getting the downtown hot dog I believe it was called and I've been doing hotdogs wrong apparently. The Hawaiian role bread gives such a sweet balance to an already amazing savory dog. Nice touch with that garlicky aioli on top, and it was gone in two bites. Their meat for both burgers and hotdogs is obviously top knotch quality. They also offer chicken sandwiches as well if you're feeling like some yard bird. Another great surprise happened on this visit. A lady came around with drinks. I told her I hadn't ordered any, and she said we are trying this out for free. If you're in the mood for a hotdog, then try Dog Haus! Their hotdogs are all beef and served on a soft toasted Hawaiian roll. I highly recommend the Sooo Cali if you like avocado, arugula, aoli and crispy onions. This hotdog is delicious and unique! My husband got the Old Town dog which is wrapped in bacon, has aioli, caramelized onions and cotija cheese which he loved! If hotdogs aren't your jam, they also have burgers, chicken sandwiches and a full bar plus screens to catch any games. There's inside and outside seating. My only complaint was that the floors were so sticky and tacky. That should definitely be addressed. Otherwise, service was fast and friendly. Our To-go orders were complete and correct. Went here the other day for early lunch. The place opens at 11 Am. When I showed up on Sunday morning shortly, there were no other customers yet. There was plenty of parking. I ordered a Hangover burger and a large Hopadillo. I was given a number to place on the table. The beer came out quickly, and the burger came out shortly after that. The burger has cheese, chii, bacon and Fried Egg. Every part of the burger was delicious. I loved the bread they used and how the egg ran when you bit into it. With a runny egg and chili, you should expect to make a mess. After I was finished with my burger and beer, I decided to get another beer. This time, I got the smaller size beer and chose one with a lower alcohol content. The place had some sports on the TVs but was not overly loud. It has a nice patio area that has a window to the bar. I recommend this place for good burgers and service. The variety of beers that it has is also a nice addition. read more

Ordering: You order at the cashier and find a seat at the tables, the bar or the outside seating area. I recommend looking online on what you'd like to order before you get to the restaurant. The cashier area can get crowded. Food/Drinks: We ordered the the Holy Aioli, T-Mex, chili dog, Love boat and tater tots. We like the bread are Hawaiian rolls. The foods were all tasty. I love the grilled onions on my Holy Aioli. The slaw on the Love boat made it unique. Soft drinks are a help yourself. You do order the beers at the cashier or at the bar. There is a nice beer selection that can be found next to the cashier. They have cocktail specials advertised at the cashier as well. Overall, we enjoyed our burger and hot dogs here. I am not a fan of ordering in the front. I felt rushed to know what to get the moment I walked in for my first visit. This would have been a nice restaurant to have table service. Not knowing what to expect we decided to stop in for a bite. They offer an abundance of adult drinks. The food menu has a variety of cleverly named hot dogs, sausages, burgers (beef and chicken). They also offer sides, steak fries and onion rings. My husband ordered a bratwurst and I got a cheese burger without the cheese. Yeah, that's exactly how I had to order it. We also ordered a side of onion rings, a blue moon and a hard ice tea. The total was $37+tax. I'd say that's about right these days. We grabbed our drinks and found a table to sit at. There were several occupied tables inside and out, as well at the bar. The atmosphere is a relaxed grab a drink and hangout place with various sports streaming on the TVs. The staff are young, very friendly and service is great. The only reason I'm giving this place a rating of 3 stars is because my burger wasn't what I was expecting. It was hand made, but a bit too salty. Moreover it was very thin. I mean it was probably the thinnest burger I've ever seen. The bun consisted of 4 Hawaiian rolls sliced in half so you could cut them into sliders. It was tasty, but too much bread and barely any protein. At least to me, the protein to bun ratio was off. Others may like it, but it just wasn't for me. My husband liked his bratwurst and the onion rings were decent. Overall my experience was just ok. I wasn't wowed and it didn't give me the feeling of wanting to come back. However, I did tell our friends who are drinkers, that may like it...and you might too. read more

So excited the meats were all natural! It was really yummy. I was disappointed that they fried in seed oil instead of beef tallow. Frying in beef tallow aligns with all natural meats and would make the fries and onion rings taste so much better!!!
