The Hungry Hardhat was raised in SoCal so naturally I would pick In N Out. That being said for the past 8 months I have taken a much liking to my local Whataburger in Texas City... always ordering my usual Dbl meat burger with cheese, fries and of course a chocolate shake. The service is amazing especially if Ms. D is working the counter. Cold food, Excessive oil /grease on Onion Rings, ... I have been a customer since the mid 1980's. Never in my life have I encountered cold food, greasy and cold onion rings. Mike the Manager is A1!!! He went above and beyond to make sure that my coworker and I had breakfast. My order was made incorrectly and I had to clock in with no time to bring the food back. Our clinic is right across the street and we order all the time. He drove us our food and saved the day. We work 12 hours and needed the food to start our day out right!!!! I don't ever say anything bc I don't want to be a Karen and the workers are decently pleasant but the last 3 times I've gotten food from here multiple things about my order have been wrong or missing altogether . missing drinks/sides/wrong flavor etc . Pros: We like the food at this Whataburger and the staff is generally very nice. Cons: They stopped opening a second line at 11 at lunch time in the drive thru so the delay is much longer than it used to be. The pot holes in the drive thru are terrible!!!!! read more

My son is playing in a baseball tournament near here. Came in for breakfast and was greeted by the nicest worker. In fact, everyone here was very nice and personable to the entire family. What can I say? It's Whataburger! The best burgers in the world. My favorite meal is a double whataburger with cheese, onion rings and a chocolate malt. Usually I get an apple pie to go. The patty melt is great and so is the grilled chicken sandwich on wheat bun. Oh, breakfast. Not another fast food place on earth where you can get biscuits and gravy. The Breakfast on a Bun is to die for and their jalapeno cheddar biscuits are delicious. I would recommend to anybody that has never been there. Only in Texas. read more

I love Whataburger in general, but I hate this location. They always forget something in our order. We always check before we drive off now. Today, of course they forgot one of our fries. When we got home, the fries were very soggy and not very tasty. The gravy in both my son and daughter's kids chicken strips did not move. It was solid and had a strange color to it. I threw it out! We only live a few blocks away from the restaurant. It shouldn't be this disgusting. I should have known better than to go to this location. Waited in line for 20 minutes and when I arrived home (less than 2 min away) my meal was completely wrong and ice cold. When I called to try and resolve the issue the employee stated "if you waited in line for 20 minutes and got cold food we are obviously short staffed" and proceeded to hang up on me. I go pretty much every Sunday around 7:00 a.m. for my weekly Whataburger "fix"! Today I went and surprisingly my burger was ready in less than 5 minutes. I knew something was wrong and sure enough when I got to work there was. The bun was not fresh and the cheese was not melted like it normally is. Not sure who the cook was; but I do know it wasn't the normal "guy" I see back there. I think it might have been a female manager. Anyway, I will be calling tomorrow morning to complain. Whataburger can be hit or miss, depending on the location. This location is a hit - consistent service and quality of food. This location has been here since the mid-70's and has seen a lot of business over the years. It was remodeled in about 2000 - they even set up a temporary food wagon to continue serving people during the remodeling. read more

I always like Whataburger, people are friendly here, food was pretty good. The drive thru is very slow even if it's just you. But honestly the friendliness makes up for it. They will sit at the window and have a chat while your food is getting ready. After years of patronizing the nearby Texas City Whataburger, we made our final visit this past week. Over the years, we were prone to give this location one more chance, discontinue our visits for months, return to see if the food was any better, and finally determined that we are punishing ourselves by returning to this franchise. Cooks are Not trained on sanitation..The management had the audacity to permit a cook to reuse, reheat old meat to an 18mth. old!!!! I have been to other locations but something was up with this one.. To start few customers & my baby incorrect order came out as a cold hamburger with mustard... So when my toddlers cheeseburger plain came out it was quick & warm with dark brown with dry edges!!!! He didn't want to eat it so I tasted and it was Bad!!!! I'm Grateful he did Not eat his burger...The taste of his burger was strange which I concluded via quick, warm, dry dark edges and weird taste that he was served a reused old patty....It had a burnt, dry, but cold odd taste.. My burger too had a sour taste which I thought was the mustard but I think since my patty was cold and via sour taste that it fermented in the mustard.. Disgusting place!!!
