First time trying Miller's Cafe. As soon as you walk in the "Hometown" feel hits you. This is a family owned restaurant and the pictures on the wall tell a story. You can see the history of the area, the restaurant and the family throughout the pictures. Their motto "Home of the almost world famous burger" caught our eye. So this is what we ordered. The Bacon Cheeseburger and the Miller Killer Bacon Cheeseburger. The difference being the addition of grilled onions and bbq sauce. The 1/3 lb burgers come with mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickle, and onion, made on a classic poppyseed bun. We both ordered onion rings as well. Don't waste your money on their chicken tender basket or on their salad's. The tenders were overcooked dried up_____. Honestly you get more salad veggies on one of their burgers than you do in their salads. On a positive note, they do have very good burgers. read more

Family friend highly recommended the burgers here, so I wanted to give it a try...I went on a Monday around 3:00pm. We were the only people inside the dining room. Loved how there wasn't too many options to choose from (easy menu) and that you can customize your order. Loved the drinks were free refills. Ordered the Double Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. Wow! Definitely one of the best burgers I've had to date! Seasoning and the flavor was surprisingly good! Love the soft bun. Fries were also crispy. Asked the staff when are the busy times of the day? She mentioned lunch time and after 6pm is when business picks up as I thought it was crazy nobody was there when I was there being their burgers are so good! ?!?! Prices are on the higher side vs fast food options, BUT the taste, seasoning, and freshness prove much better than those fast food options, so the prices a definitely justified. What a burger! (Nope, can't say that.) For real, this is one of my top burgers. I always get the chilli cheeseburger and it's never let me down. My daughter got a standard cheeseburger and rated it 86/10. Do not ask me to make sense of that rating. She loved it though. Yes, I'm giving this kinda divey burger joint 5 stars... only because I can! So close to my house I'm not sure why I've never been here, but now I know and I'll be back... I ordered a bacon burger with guacamole. First, the burger patty is pressed on the flat top to give in a nice crust, but it's not overcooked. Still had some Pink, as it should. The bacon was generous, and cooked perfectly and crispy.. and the guacamole was just how I'd make mine. The bun was fresh, and grilled, both sides.... came wrapped in paper. Franch fries came out hot and generous, and ready for salt. My only negative is the ketchup definitely isn't Heinz, but it's fine. First time I ate there I thought I had found a decent place and a decent burger !!! Waited two weeks and went back and I thought I had went to the wrong place! Food was terrible and I didn't even finish the burger or the fries onions were state along with the lettuce and tomatoes were melted more than the cheese. It was a different crew and maybe that was it maybe I will try again. I first discovered Miller's while I worked at The Methodist Hospital in The Medical Center. The wonderful aromas would fill the halls and my coworkers and I would hit up Miller's on a regular basis. Well, I haven't worked there in quite some time, but I like the fact that they have multiple locations around town to satisfy the craving I get from time to time. This particular location is never busy and there is plenty of parking in this shopping complex. Customer service has always been great when I have came. I have never strayed too far from what I like here because it's always consistently good. I just get a regular cheeseburger and add bacon. This comes with all your typical toppings like mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes and onion. What also sets them apart is the soft poppy seed bun it comes on. There's nothing fancy about this burger, but it is always so good. It's pretty large in size so pack an appetite. The fries taste like your typical frozen fries but it's not bad. I have tried the chicken tender basket once and it was delicious as well. They have quite a few different items in the menu to please any eater though. Overall, if you're craving a good, home cooked type burger, this is your spot. I will be back! read more

Small mom & pop burger shop. Owners and employees are friendly. The atmosphere is quaint and homey with signs and memorabilia on every wall. The food is fantastic. I've been here many times and never been disappointed. The burgers are big, messy and absolutely delicious. The fries are perfectly done, thick straight cut. I personally like to add a bit more salt on top as they tend to be slightly under salted for my taste. If you stop by Miller's be sure to grab plenty of napkins, and come with a big appetite. You're gonna need 'em. Four star, not five because of cleanliness. The place is by no means filthy, but the tables at times can feel a little grimy. We've been here twice now and it's just a good old fashioned diner vibe burger place. Burgers are great and I love their onion rings.

OK, so first time at Millers. I heard so much about their burgers and it was all true!! Awesome cheeseburger and fresh hot fries!! Outstanding, only one problem.... 7-12-2014 We've eaten a burger here once a week for years.  In our opinion Stomps and then this place have the best burgers in the area, but Stomps is too far away for routine eating. Tastes are all different but I don't like their chili, so I don't get their Frito Pie which I love or their hotdog.   7-8-17 Update:  When you eat at the same place week-after-week year-after-year you burn out.  So we've been getting our weekly burger at Burger Nation for more than a year.  Burger Nation's burger is good but we decided to come back and try one here again.  These are better.  As a result, we've returned here for our burger. 5-28-18 Update: Pop Top burgers is their competitor.  We now alternate between Miller's and Pop Top. 2-29-2021 Update: We no longer go to Burger Nation. A friend and I went to Miller's Clear Lake. It had been a long time since I had been there though it was as good as I remembered it. I had their mushroom Swiss burger which was cooked to perfection. Friend had the bacon cheeseburger which they said was delish. They used a good quality bacon on the burger too. Not the thin sliced cheap stuff some burger places use. The onion rings are the large thick kind I do not normally prefer but Miller's did them right. I had no problem eating theirs at all. The sweet potato fries were tasty and crisply cooked. They went just great with their Ranch dressing which was the appropriate thickness. Not watered down like some other places do. Service was excellent. Can't wait to go back. read more

A good classic every time I come back to Clear Lake. Discovered this gem while I was in high school and have been coming back ever since. They're a nice little family run business that's been operating since 1980, which means that their food must be pretty good. And it is. The outside and inside might not look like much; actually I don't like the interior at all haha. The inside has an old and outdated look. You order by going up to the cashier and telling him/her what you want. It'll take like 10 min to make it and will be delivered to your table. Gotta say though, they have some pretty good burgers. Their burgers are big and will likely be filling for most people. This time I ordered the BBQ bacon sandwich with grilled onions and once again it did not disappoint. Very succulent patty and really good BBQ sauce. The bacon itself was nicely cooked and not dry at all. Unless something awful happens, Millers will be here to stay. read more

If you order a burger with jalapenos, you will get a lot of jalapenos. They have several varieties of burgers to choose from. I agree with Kimberly L. below: things used to be much more amazing and they have slid downhill as far as quality and consistency. Which is a backhanded compliment that this used to be awesome, it has hit a slump for some inexplicable reason, and I fully expect them to get out of the slump and regain their previous awesomeness. Unfortunately things do change over time - like when you used to be able to go next door for TCBY frozen yogurt as a delicious dessert after a big tasty burger here. Now that TCBY is a Goodwill. So the replacement to TCBY was the Smoothie King - which is also gone now. The replacement to that is .... getting in your car and driving down the road to Baskin Robbins? No fun. What Miller's does right is that they do give out lots of coupons. So find a coupon, whereever coupons are to be found, and convince yourself that Miller's is worth the burger adventure (if you have never been here) or if you have been here, then you should check in and see if this is "on day" (four stars) or an "off day" (one star) read more

Hmm. I've heard about this place a lot and was hoping to be amazed. But after having been to Stomp's recently, I guess I'm a little hard to please right now when I want a good burger. I came here during weekday lunch and it was quite busy the whole time, so it looks like it still has quite a following. I got the grilled onion burger and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't amazing either. The beef patty was a little bland and really really greasy, with juice consistently dripping down the table and my fingers until I got through most of of the burger.
