This was a very frustrating experience from start to finish. Arrived there with two little ones, who were both in need of diaper changes, and quickly discovered the bathrooms do not have changing stations. Women's bathroom was also in pretty bad shape, with trash cans overflowing, and the paper towel dispenser completely empty. Then, we ordered and asked for it to go. And we waited, and waited, and waited. 20 minutes later, the manager finally sent one of the food runners to check on our order. I had already watched people, including one very large group, order after us and receive their food. All while we waited. A few minutes after that, the manager popped his head around the corner and told me they were just "waiting on a fresh batch of fries". . Doubtful, but nice to attempt to cover up the fact that you forgot or gave away our order. The kids were miserable the entire time, rightly so. It shouldn't take nearly 30 minutes to receive two kids' chicken strip meals and a single adult fry. I will definitely be avoiding this location in the future. read more

First things first, the drive through line didn't take but 10 minutes.. great- but the woman at the register was incredibly rude and gave my husband a nasty look because he corrected her politely on the name that SHE put down wrong. The large fry I received was cold (the only thing I ordered) and my husband's Dr Pepper had no flavor at all, assuming they needed to change their bags to the soda machine. This was the first Whataburger that I ever tried in my life. I had seen their restaurants all over our travels in Texas. Finally got the chance to try them when we were driving through Waco. The restaurant looked terrific inside. Very clean! Service was polite, but getting the food was very very very slow. Took almost 30 minutes to get my food. They weren't even busy. The crew was just very slow. Seriously, they looked like they were in slow motion. Got my order to go. Got a Whataburger with cheese and fries for myself. Patty Melt for my Wifey. Here is what I thought of the food. The burger was okay. Not the best fast food burger & fries, but not bad either. 3 stars Patty Melt is 5 stars!! That was the star of the food!! The absolute BEST Patty Melt that I had ever eaten. Overall, though only 3 stars. The slowness of the crew was a real turn off. I would not be a regular at this Whataburger location. Let's start on a high....the employees were very kind, delightful and courteous. Now for the bad parts....(aka errrr thing else!). The drive thru was painfully slow. I sat there for more than 20 minutes waiting on a simple burger and fries. My bag did not have napkins or ketchup. Which is a minor detail that I can overlook. I like how many toppings were on the burger. They definitely didn't go light on those and they tasted fresh. the burger patty was an average burger patty and tasted a little bit dry. But it was a fast food restaurant so I wasn't really expecting much more than this. However, I have heard a lot of people talk about how good Whataburger is so I thought I would give it a try. Service is terrible. Watched 2 groups of people grab their own receipt cause the counter guy walked off. Burgers were soggy from the butter on the bread not being toasted long enough I assume. Middle of mine was soggy white still. One of our orders sat on the counter until we grabbed it. The woman's restroom was out of paper towels and a female employee watched as other females shook their hands dry in the restroom and went to the food counter to dry them with paper and still didn't replenish. Nobody was asked if they wanted ketchup for our 2 groups and when I did I wasn't asked what type the lady just grunted and walked off , when she came back I was tossed a random pile. I only needed spicy. Only 2 were spicy.. and not the kind we wanted .. When I stopped the host before she left saying "they are gonna need some also" she almost grabbed the ones she just gave me.. She eventually came back with the tray of stuff that is normal for them to approach you with (if she had that the first time maybe she would be happier). Minus the jalapeño sauce we asked for. Never got that so we just ate and left. The manager must be overwhelmed or to underpaid to care. This place made the Whataburgers in SA look like Ruth's Chris. I wanted to like this as I remember how good Whataburger was back in the 1980s. Stopped in to grab a cheeseburger, fries and soda. Well I get my food and when I get home I find out I got a jalapeño cheeseburger, fries and some jalapeño ranch sauce. Anyway, the burger itself was a huge bun and a small patty with a cold piece of cheese on the bottom. Lots of onions and lettuce and this small tomato slice. Food at this one is the same as any Whataburger, so it's pretty good. What's bad about this location is the service. I stopped by this location on my way home mainly because Whataburger has non breakfast options available and I'm rarely a breakfast person. So, I placed my order for a chicken fajita taco and received an email confirming the order at 7:09 AM with an estimate that the order would be ready between 7:14 and 7:15 AM. I walked into the restaurant and had to look around to find anyone to come to the counter. I received a receipt confirming my order that was printed at 7:12 AM. I walked over to the drink area to get some iced tea. Nope, no tea available, whether sweet or unsweet. I ended up going with a Coke. Normally Whataburger has a good drink mix on their fountain. This Coke tasted like it was watered down. As the time passes 7:20, I go to check on my order. I'm told that a grilled chicken takes 9-10 minutes to prepare. Finally, at 7:31, I receive my order. Unlike every other dine in customer, I received my order in a sack. The food itself was pretty standard, but the fries had clearly been sitting around before being served to me. Absolutely horrible. The cashier was a total jerk. I tried to be kind to her because she was clearly stressed out but she continued to be rude. I finished telling her my order while she shook her fists in the air and shook the computer. She tried to hand me the receipt and I told her I didn't need it. She stared at me and still held it out. This was my first Whataburger experience! I would say it is "college good". My burger loving, teen son loved his bacon burger and onion rings(need I say more!?). I thought my burger was decent/fair tasting, but it was hot and made to my specifications whixh is . I really liked the onion rings, they were fresh and hot. The selection of dipping sauces is huge. We loved the honey mustard and hot sauce. The medium drink is XL in reality and the sweet tea was definitely freshly made and not too sweet. The employees get 5 stars! Everyone was so nice, friendly and gave great customer service. Had to give this one three stars. We walked, and the place seemed clean enough. All the staff was in masks and gloves. Tables marked for social distancing. We ordered a patty melt and a whataburger,. No mustard on the hamburger and both sandwiches in half. First star off, we got our sandwiches and the patty melt did have a clean cut, so we had to tear the sandwich in half, and it was not a tidy tear. We only got one of our French fry orders and the hamburger was not cut at all and had to send back. It took awhile to get outer fries and the hamburger cut. Which meant the hamburger was not hot when we got it back. The second star off was the restroom cleanliness. The toilets were streaky with hard water issues and stains. Made me think their were deep clean8ng issues in the restaurant, if they took shortcuts in the restroom, what is the deep cleaning like in the kitchen. read more

If I was cooking at home, and specifically set out to make a disgusting hamburger, I am not sure if I could make a burger as bad as the smashed, soggy lettuce, disgusting one I had today. What's even worse is the attitude I received from the drive thru people who acted annoyed when I informed them that the sugary beverage I ordered was a glass of ice water. The fries were bland and lacked salt - probably the worst I've ever had. They almost tasted like they had gone cold and were microwaved to warm them up again. The wait in line was not bad, because there were five or six other options including In-N-Out and Freddy's and the Christian chicken place. So disgusting I threw the Whatever Burger away after four bites, ended the meal hungry, and might I remind you that I am a large man who doesn't skip meals often. Do yourself a favor and skip this deformed lovechild of a rundown ghetto McDonalds and a backwoods Burger King. Not even worth trying once. WORST Whataburger I have ever eaten at. This sentiment was echoed by a fellow patron my wife was talking to in the restroom as we were leaving as well. Let me further explain. We were driving thru Waco on our way to Dallas area. We had gotten up early and my wife wanted to stop quick for breakfast. She found this location which looked like an easy on and off so we stopped. She admitted after we left that when looking up she ignored the low reviews on Yelp stating "how bad can a Whataburger be". Unfortunately we found out and I would say the other negative reviews are likely quite accurate as well. We were greeted by an amazingly sticky floor at the entrance where the orders were being placed. Seemed to involve the entire entrance area. Ordering process had no issues. Went to get our drinks. The floor by the drink area was even worse. Trash all over the floor. The drink area itself was quite dirty and although we are not coffee drinkers it should be noted that during a morning rush period on a Saturday they were without coffee for at least 10 minutes. Needless to say lots of angry patrons. Seating area tables and chairs were clean but the floor was again very dirty and gross. Then to top it off they finally did come around to sweep under our table while we were sitting there. It obviously had not been done for awhile so don't need to make my dining experience even worse by sweeping at my feet but they did that too. As I had forever to wait then for my food went to use the restroom which was dirty and devoid of paper towels. My wife stated the women's was without soap and toilet paper was strewn all over the floor. Food finally came out after about 15 minutes. We had ordered a number of things and they were holding our order for pancakes that still were not ready. After we completed our other food (taquito and early morning double meat Whataburger) which was decent but had cheese even though we asked for no cheese the pancakes still were not ready so we asked for our money back. That itself took almost another 10 minutes and around the time we got the money back the pancakes finally arrived. What was intended to be a quick stop for some Whataburger turned into a lengthy frustrating stop all because my wife ignored the negative Yelp reviews. Lesson learned for her as we unfortunately did get to find out how bad a Whataburger can be. In 12 years in Texas at all times of day and locations this location definitely receives my ranking as WORST WHATABURGER EVER read more
