This Whataburger is closest to my way to work. When you wake up & think, hmmm, I could go for Whataburger this morning, & remember they are open 24/7. Game on! I ordered the new breakfast sandwich, which is a whole meal on a bun. Yes! Not only that, but if you download the app, you can preorder your food, have the buns toasted on both sides. And get everything the way you want it. What's not to love?! I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I was the only one inside, but their drive thru was busy. Plus there were two SAPD parked, chatting, in the parking lot. So, safety first. Lol The manager made fresh coffee, & it is good! They have half & half or French Vanilla creamers to doll up your cup o'Joe. I added the later. Mmmm The staff were all working g hard, prepping for the ne t shift, so it was nice & clean. This was the WORST experience I've ever had at a Whataburger. 30 min after ordering for curbside, I decided to go through the drive through to get my order as I had noticed at least 8 people pickup their orders since I had ordered mine. Started to panic while I was in line as I had to get back to work, so backed out. Asked the young man standing outside taking orders if I was just SOL re getting my money back and he said yeah, there wasn't anything I could do. I looked at him in unbelief. Then he asked if I could wait,--and he went inside. He came out with my order,--30 min after I had ordered it in the app. It was cold and soggy. I have no idea what's wrong at this location, however, I won't be back. Passed the man who was sitting next to me long before I got there and he was just leaving as I was leaving. Noticed they didn't get his order right the first time. Advice for this location: skip it and go on down the road especially if you have someplace you need to be. This was my first time at this location and I had ZERO issues. I was greeted by some very friendly employees who took my order and within minutes I had my meal. I was surprised it came out that quick as the drive through was busy and the dining room was almost full. My Slap Yo Momma Good burger was perfect and it was exactly how I ordered it (unlike In n Out last night who completely messed up my burger). The onion rings were delicious as well. The dining area was clean. When the young girl brought out my food she offered me plain or spicy ketchup, which I bet you can guess what I chose. She also offered me some napkins and then I went to town and grubbed down. I did try the limited time Dr. Pepper shake for dessert which is pretty good. Despite being very busy most of the time they are a very efficient team of burger buddies that I love going to for my late night eats. I don't think they deserve such a low rating. I went through the drive through today. I ordered at 1:20pm. There were 2 cars in front of me at the order window and probably another 3 cars waiting to pay or for their orders. This only included the inside lane. It was 1:33 before I paid and 1:40 before I got my food. My soda was watered down. Apparently it was prepared when I ordered, then sat on the counter ( 20 minutes). My burgers was smashed like a pancake, as if other orders were stacked on top of it. I got an extra order of fries that I did not order and it was upside down in the bag, so the fries were everywhere. This is ridiculous! This store has always been slow and the orders are often wrong but today was too much. It either needs a new manager or someone needs to train the employees. This is my first experience having Whataburger. I cannot totally Rave enough about how great this place is. It's a 24-hour fast food restaurant that always have a line, no matter what time you go. This is how good this fast food restaurant is. I actually ordered the avocado bacon cheeseburger freshly made homemade as a matter of fact and it was beyond delicious. My hubby had the mozzarella jalapeno pepper jack cheeseburger which he said was so good. We also had their fries which was great very crispy not salty. It was in a great location right off of I-35 which was right across the street from the hotel we were staying. My dad also told me about this place which he was correct and how great this restaurant was. Their prices are reasonable but it's worth the money no matter how much you pay. The burgers were homemade very juicy bread was just right meat was cooked to perfection and I would definitely go back again. read more

While I was in San Antonio this week, i decided to stop in at Whataburger to grab a quick bite to eat. I ended up getting the chicken fajita combo; it had grilled chicken, grilled peppers, and grilled onions. I had them add some shredded cheese to it. It also came with french fries and a 32oz soda. Either i was starving or I really enjoyed the grilled chicken fajita; i almost wish i didn't ask them to add the cheese. The fries were those thin kind and I wish I would've asked for a different side, but i didn't think to ask. For my drink I asked for a strawberry Fanta, but i think they gave me a Big Red Strawberry Cream Soda (which I don't like). The drive thru area is similar to what they are doing with the Chickfila's by having 2 lines and an attendant to help with your order if they are busy. read more

I have come to this location a few times. Service has not been the best. First the costumer service. Not friendly or welcoming. I feel like everyone is rushing around and not paying attention to the costumer. Second today we came to have a late night bite after a hectic work day, you have four employees sitting around eating or doing trainings on the computer with one gal operating the front counter AND ATTENDING BOTH LINES OUTSIDE! It's 43 degrees outside. She doesn't have a sweater and after her manager tells her she needs to attend outside, she repeated she doesn't have a sweater. YOU HAVE 4 OTHERS JUST SITTING ON THEIR BEHINDS LAUGHING AWAY! We sat for a good half hour and still no one got up. Multiple people came back because they had something wrong with their order. Our food tasted cold. And frozen? Or tasteless? It wasn't whataburger that's for sure. read more

The yelpers are far off on this one. I went here twice on my trip to San Antonio. Both visits were exactly what I would'nt expect from a fast food burger joint with 2.5 stars. Immediately greeted by a friendly server in both visits. I ordered the spicy bacon burger the first time, mushroom burger the next. The server recommended adding bacon on the mushroom burger. Not pushy, just said she always gets it and it's delicious. I love bacon, so she had me at hello. When you place your order they give you a plastic number to stand at your table. Both times the meal came out within five minutes. The food; my pictures do not do justice on the mammoth size of these burgers. They are almost the size of a discusses and took me the better part of a half an hour to consume. Both burgers were delicious and not too greasy. The meals come with skinny fries which I'm not a huge fan of. The have a spicy ketchup that makes them better. Someone walks around and asks you how you meal was and if they can get you a drink refill. That's a nice touch. Fast food doesn't get much better than this folks. read more

The location on Windcrest is a complete joke. Got the entire order wrong and they weren't paying attention much.

I placed an order using their app and requested delivery last Monday. The Tracker alerted me when the food was picked up and on it's way. I watched as the vehicle icon moved down the street and sat idle for about 15 minutes. It took way too long to drive the 2-miles to my house. Instead of leaving food on bench beside the door, the food was left on the ground. The bag was placed so close to the door that the bag was knocked over when door was opened. The large order of Onion Rings was very very light. One of the burgers had been unwrapped. The Whataburger Security Tab was ripped off and was laying on bottom of bag. I threw everything away as a result. I notified both Whataburger and Door Dash of the situation. Today is Thursday and neither have responded to me. Very, very disappointed. Never again. read more
