I went to Wienerschnitzel and ordered a number one, which includes two chili dogs, fries, and a drink. The menu did not mention anything about cheese, and I was not asked if I wanted cheese. However, when I received my order, both chili dogs had cheese on them. I took the order back and explained the issue. One of the employees told me she could not take the food back inside the store, but she agreed to remake my order. While I was waiting, the manager--who was also working as the cook--came out and said he needed to verify the food. I explained that I had already thrown it away in the garbage. He then told me that there was nothing he could do because he had to verify the food was in the bag. I asked him if he wanted me to dig it out of the garbage, and he repeated that he had to verify the food in the bag. At that point, I retrieved the bag of food from the trash and handed it to him at the window. He verified it and then took it back inside the store. As I thought about it, I realized that was unsanitary and extremely concerning--especially since the bag that had been in the garbage was now being handled inside the restaurant. Because of that, I asked for my money back. The manager then asked for my receipt, which was also in the same bag of food that he had taken back inside. Eventually, he refunded me. Following the incident, I called Wienerschnitzel's corporate office on three separate occasions but never received a return call. Because of the unsanitary handling and lack of response from corporate, I filed a report with the Department of Health. read more

As my wife described the burger, "If someone had this at a backyard bbq, I'd be totally ok with it" The drive through was extremely busy and seemed to be taking away attention from the walk up customers (which I was). Like all places right now I think they are struggling with staffing. This is the last Wienerschnitzel anywhere in town! Awesome that it is right close to me. Love that they are open late, obviously wienerschnitzel has a rather basic menu. They do rotate seasonal things like the chicken burger or the pastrami which was really good. they also have multiple flavors of chili cheese fries, which are tasty. Corn dogs are their go to (delicious), but I especially like the mini corn dog packs. there is nothing but outdoor seating, so most days it is walk up counter-service or drive-thru. Customer service can be slow, but they are typically friendly enough. They also have daily specials for every day of the week, including ice cream! The perfect place when you are craving some great hot dogs, but obviously nothing I could call amazing as far as food quality. read more

One of my guilty pleasures. My preference is the traditional Coney Island with chili, cheese onions and mustard. I like the size of the Dawg because it firs in my mouth in one bite, as opposed to those 1/4 jobs you get often elsewhere. No, the chili is not A1 quality stuff but good enough. The store is fast and cheap, plus filling. BTW, the stuffed jalapeños are the best anywhere. A real draw, imo. Here's the kicker -- I often stock up on a bag of 15 or 20 to keep in the freezer for a quick throw-down dog at night or during the game. 50 seconds in the microwave followed by 10 minutes in the oven @350 and you're in business. read more

I think that's something that bugs me about the app. If you give a Wienerschnitzel 2 stars, but the food tastes good, you like the selection, and the customer service is great in comparison to other fast food joints, it's like "really?" If we know what a Wienerschnitzel is, we aren't going for gourmet. But does it provide service that you would say is above and beyond that of a regular drive through? Hell yeah! Does it provide fast food that is good, fast, and hot? Yeah! Were you satisfied with your portion and anything else about your visit? Oh, yeah! Then give the place the right amount of stars. We went to this Wienerschnitzel today and we had amazing customer service. The people who worked the drive-through were eager to have a chat with us and were so friendly. We even talked about our tattoos. Our mini corn dogs were cooked perfectly and were very addicting. We regretted not ordering the larger size. Our root beer float was bigger than what I'd normally receive at A&W and with better ice cream! The franchisee could do a little more to keep the place up, but overall, for what I expect from a Wienerschnitzel, this place exceeded the expectations. And for that it gets 4 stars! read more

Convenience stores serve better hot dogs. Yes, it's THAT bad. The buns are quite small, so the toppings end up on the table, your lap...just everywhere. The hot dogs are very salty. We ordered the "seasonal" Luau fries. What a mess. It might have worked on CRISPY fries, but when the product is slimy, and you add a sauce on top? You end up eating french fries with a fork. A SPOON would have worked better. The watermelon lemonade tastes like chemicals. You spend the same amount of money at Burger Boy or P. Terry's. WHY go to a place like this??? Sonic hot dogs are better. I can buy HEB brand meat, and boil it. And, at LEAST, try to come up with unique buns. If Dollar General were a fast food chain, this would be it. read more

This place is the WORST for service. The drive thru has cars in queue and they have a counter to order from. I walked up to the counter to order then waited and waited, then waited some more. There was a woman working the drive thru window, she saw me. There was a guy putting food in bags and handing them to window woman, he saw me. Then a third guy comes from the back, he sees me, then joins first guy putting orders together. I was left standing there like a putz after the workers saw me. Don't go to this place. Let me start by saying I love Wienerschnitzel. We don't have it right around our house where we live so when I come down to San Antonio I look forward to getting it. Came to this location walked up to the window waited about 5 minutes worker came to the window and said we're short-handed could you drive through please. I understand being short-handed so got in the car and pulled around drive-thru took 10 minutes from the time I ordered to get to the window. Got my order pulled a head into a parking spot. The fries are cold the chili dogs are barely warm. This is probably the worst experience I've had at a Wienerschnitzel and I'm sure it's all because there's not enough people working so this is not the workers fault I don't believe. read more

I stopped for a chili cheese dog with lite toppings and what I got looked like straight up slop. There was a cheese slice just thrown in the middle of the hot dog, it was disgustingly full of relish--so much to the point the whole dog was cold. I then asked for a refund and had to wait for the manager to "find her keys". As small as the place is, but I'm waiting forever. Finally I just drove off while the cashier is looking clueless, the "cook" is banging his head around to obnoxiously loud rock music, and the manager is still looking for her keys. I ordered 100 dollars in hot dogs on their website. They used Uber eats to deliver it. I never received food. Called and asked if they can remake order and I'll pick up and was told no. They said to call over eats. Uber eats said they have to refund me because wienerschnitezel did the actual charge.After about 5 call between there and Uber eats I had to accept the fact that I lost 100 and had to get my crew something lease to eat. Great for a quick stop after a fun day out or on a road trip. Delicious dogs a bit pricer for some of the basics sometimes. Highly recommend the lemonade as well as the polish and Chicago dogs. All around a solid quick lunch and great quality hot dogs. Also great service, fast and friendly. The only real detractor is the location as it faces a dusty construction site which becomes a negative as you sit outside. And no restroom for hand washing. read more

If this location doesn't clean up it probably won't last much longer as a franchise is Wienerschnitzel.
