This is a review for what you break and cell phone repair. The team at what you break handled my problem and the timely manner. My problem was the headphone jack, which most people don't have anymore. I talked to them on the phone and we discussed the fact that it might be lint inside the phone. After showing up in person what you break looked at my phone and we determined it was not lint. There was something that needed to be tightened inside the phone. My old iPhone 5s had a battery that was beginning to swell and separated the screen from the case. I was freaked out reading that swollen batteries can burst, so I looked at upgrading (my cell carrier USED to offer $99 upgrades). Holy Cow! So what to do? WOW. This guy is amazing! Long story short, I shattered my screen, and it was really bad. I called today, and he told me to bring my phone by TODAY! When I went in, I did not get any sort of feeling that my trusted phone was in bad hands. Josh took it and reassured me it would be done in 45 minutes, and guess what... IT WAS. I was not disappointed at all! I requested a quote here on Yelp and the owner replied within a few minutes with a super affordable price! He told me to come in whenever and that it would take 30 mins. So I went into the shop and they got right to work fixing my screen (and my phone button; which I forgot to mention when he quoted me). I ran across the street while he worked on it and came back to find my phone looked brand new AND he fixed my home button, which he only charged $5 for the part. Josh Galutira runs a computer and pretty much all else (electronics) repair and service shop here in Marina, Calif. I bought a new desktop pc with Windows10 at BestBuy. New PC's only come with Windows10. I had a new Windows7 Professional disk. I installed the 7 but the PC then would freeze up upon starting. Josh offers free quotes. I brought my PC to him and he spent hours trying to fix it. He was not able to get the Win7 Pro working and accurately thought it being a new PC, might not accept Win7 at all. After trying multiple methods, he said he thought this new PC simply was designed only for Win10. All this work and he did not charge a cent. Wow! I took it too BestBuy and they (Geek Squad) said they could install the Win7 Pro op sys. But they could not either. I ended up going back to Win10 (ugh!). Despite "What'd you break?" being a small shop, (across the street from Marina's Grocery Outlet), Josh knew as much as the best of the BestBuy folks. I cracked my 6 plus screen Saturday and even though the hours on this website say that they are closed Sunday and Monday I gave them a call and they were actually in store on Sunday and available to fix my screen! It took about 40 minutes. Josh was very helpful and gave some good advice about where to find some cases and things like that. He actually ended up giving me a free case too when I went back to pick it up. I really messed up my screen and I didn't know if it would be fixable but it is fixed and better than ever! Another happy customer!!!! My old Dell laptop crashed after several failed attempts at backing it up, so I took it to What'd You Break. The hard drive was toast and all of my data was essentially gone. I wasn't expecting them to work miracles but that's exactly what they did! After trying some things that didn't work they tried a totally new extraction method that did work. They were able to save ALL of my data!!!! What? A total miracle. They literally saved me thousands of dollars with the files they were able to retrieve, and I still have the pictures of Grandma with her pink hair!
