Bright, with all of its windows and natural light, is well, bright during the day. The staff is really excellent here, just like at NoFi, being super friendly and welcoming. My girlfriend grabbed their Ube Latte while I opted for the Banana Milk Latte, which I had never heard of before and which was super fun to try. It's a super unique flavor for a latte but excellent. I've had many different fruits in my coffee, from blueberries to oranges, but I have never considered bananas to be in the range of opportunities. Bright has opened my third eye to this concept. All their house-made beans from Perdido are top-tier. They also had really cute espresso and pour-over Comfort Color shirts that I had to grab while I was visiting. I also really love the subtle smiley face they add to all their hot to-go cups. There's plenty of space between each seat inside Bright so it never feels crowded even when it's packed. There's also tons of locally-made art on the wall, which really makes Bright exist like a piece of the community. Upon walking in the vibes here were just sweet. I noticed some of the vintage Spurs throwback analog clock and some really cool artwork on the walls as well. I knew I walked into the right place for my writing time. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in and up to the counter. The menu is listed on the wall on the right, behind the bar, and there is seasonal one in addition to their regular menu on the counter. Since it was my first time I relied on the barista to make a recommendation based off of what they have that is popular and what they would recommend for a first timer. Coco Cajeta espresso on ice was the recommendation I took and the drink I had, and honestly I couldn't have been more pleased. Their syrups are all made in house and they have at least 5 of them that I can recall that includes lavender and your heavy hitters like caramel and vanilla. But that coco cajeta is where it is at. I found a seat at one of the booths and noticed the other coffee drinkers around me were in deep conversations and catching up with their friends. I saw some folks reading here too and just chilling. Parking wasn't a big deal for me as they have a small lot off to the side of the space. I saw plenty of street (free) parking as well so you should come thru. I even saw a food truck outside as well. Regardless, staff said it was fine for me to bring him inside as long as he didn't make a mess. Fortunately, Bucky is house trained. It was a nice opportunity to socialize him more, though. So while I thought Eightball was a truck, there was an airstream parked outside which sold bagels. There are neat picnic tables between the building and airstream, and the inside is small but accommodating. I ordered the cortado and a coco cajeta latte. Staff was very nice, one of them even gave Bucky some attention and pets, which he loved. The cortado is priced lower than most, and even though it was served to-go I didn't get any of that paper cup flavor. It had an interesting pecan/pecan pie adjacent flavor. Maybe I'm finally starting to get the hang of tasting notes. Or maybe not. I give it a B rating. I mistook the Coco part of Coco Cajeta - I thought it was Coco as in Cocoa, but it was Coco as in Coconut. The surprise was pleasant, though as it tasted very much like a mounds or almond joy. Lots of coffee drinks with coconut toe the line between Samoa and Sunblock and this one was firmly Samoa. It gets an A+ from me. Their music taste is within my wheelhouse of preferences, too. It felt like listening to the XMU station on Sirius XM radio.

I brought Bucky with me, too, and he was a popular little man. Apparently they have specials whenever the Spurs win a playoff game, hence the extra long lines that day. That's super cool that they support our team and show such local pride that way! Anyhoodle, instead of ordering a cortado and a signature latte, I decided to just order the peanut butter mocha with banana cold foam. What a dream. If you're into decadent coffee drinks that are more like desserts/treats, you need to try this version of a chunky monkey. As always, the staff are some of the nicest people you'll ever come across. Cool, they're overdue for an updated review. The weather was much nicer the last time I was here, and the service was much, much better than I remember. I had asked if they had pup cups and the barista said she didn't think they had whipped cream, but then excitedly corrected herself. Score! While I didn't see a cortado on the menu, I asked if they could make me one (with an enthusiastic yes!). I also ordered an iced oatchata and a donut, and we then sat outside in the patio. Bucky made friends with everyone in the area. The cortado was very pleasant. It had that "paper cup" taste as most cortados will when served in one, but it was still pretty good. Mild and smooth, and not terribly hot, too. The oatchata was a delight. Super refreshing, and the donut was also great. Bucky also gives 5 stars to the pup cup, to the point where he also ate the cup. They still have a very charming and relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommend when the weather isn't brutal.

He ordered the 'Hot Date Latte' and I ordered the 'Nutella Mocha Latte.' I was really impressed with both! I found the flavors to be unique and balanced. I was afraid the Nutella mocha would be super sweet, but it was actually perfect! The barista who helped us was very polite and our drinks came out quickly. It doesn't seem like they stock large amounts of food, so if you want a bite to eat I might skip this spot. We just wanted a good coffee though, so it was the perfect find!
