Brought a 20 inch rim in for Refinishing and when I picked it up it was totally trashed. A totally different color than the whole rim. They never took the tire off the rim,. When the rim face was painted the back was not covered so there is sandpaper textured dark grey paint primer over spray from when they worked on the rim face all over the inner barrels. I was better off keeping the curb rash and touching it up with silver rim touch up paint. I could have done a better job than these clowns. Now the rim is junk. Most of all the owner wanted me to pay him another $175.00 to correct his mistakes Instead of just fixing it. I will never go here again and you should not either if you like your car! read more

I can honestly say, these guys were great. Not sure why some people had bad experiences here, but I am more than happy with my experience. I hot a pothole that blew out my tire and dented the rim. I called for a quote and they were professional and reasonable. Dropped off my car and was told it would be ready in the early afternoon. Sure enough, got the call earlier than expected and was told it was ready. They also gave me a quote on something else I had asked about, again, reasonable price. Not only does the rim look great, the car rides smooth as if nothing was ever wrong. These guys are great, thanks Dan! read more

I've read the bad reviews here. Very strange to see them because I've had nothing but great service from Wheel Repair Specialist. WRS was recommended by my Land Rover dealer and for $175 they repaired a crack in my rim that otherwise would have cost me $750+. Then I hit a curb and had to bring another rim in for repair. Fixed that one too! 3-4 days turn around. Friendly. I still cannot understand why the other bad reviews exist. Because my rims apparently have been cursed, I'm bringing another one in tomorrow for repair (pothole in Newton). My tire exploded (sidewall) and cracked my rim. I highly recommend WRS. read more

Called beforehand and asked if they could balance my tires. The person I talked to said come come right in. When I got one of the technicians asked why I was there. I told him I called and that I was there for the balancing. He said that they don't like to have people wait and that they only want people to drop off their vehicles. I told him whoever I talked to said to come in and didn't mention anything about leaving the vehicle. He said I don't know who you talked to and he wouldn't do the work if I didn't leave my vehicle there. It's bad enough that they don't have a clue who's answering their phones but to just say sorry you're out of luck and hit the bricks is some seriously bad customer service. So here's some positive feedback, mention it on your website that you only take work where you leave the car with them. Pretty simple. I will never will darken their door again and will recommend that my family and friends avoid this place as well. read more

I brought my car to these guys on a Monday morning, I was told 1-3days I rented a car for the term didn't hear from them couldn't get anybody on the phone I had to drive down there on thurs only to find out they Hadn't touched it I talked to the owner Joe who gave me a bunch of shit on how they couldn't match the paint so instead of having two wheels done I had to have all four they still couldn't give me a time but" feel free to take it somewhere else" a week later they finished it. How these bandits are in business is beyond me!! Dropped off a set of wheels to get refinished & they sat in the spot I left them for 5 weeks!! When I dropped them they told me it would be a week to get them done. After three weeks & 4 un-returned phone calls I went by to check on them - they hadn't left the spot I left them in when dropping them. The "Owner" Joseph, promised end of the week for sure (although had not excuse or apology for not returning my 4 calls). Two weeks later they still hadn't moved. When I went to finally take the wheels to bring them to another shop they didn't even try to apologize. Found an excellent, professional place in Tewksbury instead. read more

My husband says I hit everything but the lottery! I can't tell you what life savers these guys were. Instead of having to buy new rims at $750 a piece (low profile G35 rims) due to the crappy roads in lovely mass, these guys were able to refinish, machine and weld the cracks of my rims. I swear they look better now than when the tire shop put then on! It took a few days to get them back but it was well worth it for the money I saved. Don't believe anything these guys tell you. Both Eric (with the beard) and Dan (the manager?) told me that my alloy wheel would be reconditioned in approximately one day. I left it on Monday at 8:30 am and with no action on their part I retrieved it on Friday at noon. From the thick envelopes (invoices, I'd guess) in their mail outbox you can tell that most (all?) of their business is with the large auto dealers in the Boston area. Further, they offer no warranty on their work. If you're an individual seeking work on a auto rim, I'd suggest you don't waste your time talking to these guys. read more

If it was possible to give these guys a negative rating, I would. Never in my life have I ever experienced anyone less helpful or rude. Didn't end up getting my wheel serviced there because of how unhelpful and downright rude they were. Initially they were aggravated I called around a holiday (I had no control over when my wheel broke!) and then told me it was a 2 week wait. Brought it back when they told me to, and they said they wouldn't help me out my spare on, to come back when I could change it. Went and got it changed at another tire place, got the spare on and they wouldn't take my wheel off my car!! It was already changed, just needed to unscrew one bolt to release it - which I was told they could do no problem. When I called for questions they sounded extremely put off. I found a new place and they helped me within 5 minutes. Popped the wheel off and got it serviced no problem. Do not use these people! read more

****STAY AWAY FROM THIS RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT*** Brought a wheel in for repair, made a simple request to paint the repair in black primer instead of gray primer so it would match the inside of the wheel which is black and was answered with "no". Employee "could be the owner" blew up in a rage after I questioned why it couldn't be done. He started using profanity and I was told to leave and don't come back if I didn't like it. A complete waste of time! I didn't check out the reviews for this place before giving them my rim, thought they were legit from all the nice cars out front. Big mistake on my part. Long story short my rim was untouched after almost 3 weeks, was told 4 days when I stopped by to inquire. Dan, must be their main machinist, had the audacity to tell me to relax and just drive around with the spare some more. Dan then went on to say that his $500k/year account is priority, even though I brought my one rim in first. Don't see why these guys couldn't just get mine done and out of the way, paying a higher price for it anyway. Ask him how much longer, guy said "two, maybe three more week, I don't know". Grab my rim and left, not even an apology....maybe I'm just a ridiculous customer?!?! read more

So, after explaining exactly which Wheels I had and what I needed done to those Wheels I drove 45 minutes in each Direction bringing the wheels to the shop. I also brought a second set of wheels which just needed to be repainted and nothing else. My summer wheels for my truck are 24" 3 piece forged alloy wheels. All of this was explained before my delivering them to the shop. They had curb rash and some flat spots from Boston potholes. This also was explained before I delivered my wheels to the shop. I left those with a set of 17-inch Subaru Wheels which as I said earlier just needed to be repainted so that they could be used for track days. I get a call back with an estimate of $1,000 to refinish the truck wheels and fix the flat spots and curb rash and $700 to spray the Subaru Wheels. I thought it was a little bit high for the Subaru Wheels so I elected to not have them repaint those. As soon as I decided to not also do the Subaru Wheels, I was now told that they now could not fix or straighten my summer wheels for my truck because they were three-piece Wheels. Despite this being made explicitly clear before driving all the way up there. I would never recommend anybody going to a shop where you're willing to spend $1,000 to have a set of wheels repaired to be jerked around and treated like they don't need your business. I couldn't wait to pick up my wheels so I could make this review. Please don't use this company as they are super unprofessional and wasted almost 4 hours of my time driving back and forth twice to their location. The worst customer service I have run into. I took them 7 weeks to get to my wheels. They did say, when I dropped them off that it would be a couple of weeks before they could start them, however 7 weeks is a bit excessive. What upsets me the most is every time I called I got a different story? I even tried to email them and got no reply. Anyway when I got my two magnesium Corvette wheels back they looked OK at first glance except for the huge drips and sags in the clear coat down the inside of the wheel that I will have to remove because I don't dare to have them touch them again. Also there are fish eyes in the finish that hopefully won't be to noticeable on the car. And the color match was not as good as I expected. Years ago they did one of the same wheels with great results, I don't know what happened but they place went down the tubes, unfortunately it cost me 300 bucks to learn that. Take my advice and go anyplace else. I may have to have them redone by someone that knows what they are doing. read more

I still havent got my wheel back. i dropped it off last thursday and was told "it will be ready to be picked up tomorrow afternoon or monday morning". I call monday afternoon and he says "it will be ready this afternoon most likely but if not u can pick it up tomorrow (tuesday) first thing in the morning. tuesday morning comes... no call. I call them at noon tuesday and they say "itll be ready this afternoon or tomorrow morning". Is this a joke??? I have things I need to do and I am scheduling these things around when it is going to be ready. This thing better be ready by tomorrow. Do not go here. it may be the cheapest around but its the cheapest for a reason. Rimpro in tewksbury or kwiksilver in peabody are said to be very good places. read more

I do not recommend this place at all enough to create a yelp account for the first time. I went here on a Friday afternoon to get my tire straightened and was told it was going to be done by the end of the day I figured I'd call to be safe to find out it won't be done till Monday at noon, I call on Monday and they haven't even started and said they won't be until 4 meanwhile they close at 4:30 so I call again and they say I can get it Thursday. Then Thursday comes around and all of a sudden it won't be done till Friday. I finally did get it on Friday but I had to go a whole week without my tire and a spare on when they told me it wouldn't even be a whole day because it has been very slow. Not to mention they added on a 25$ charge to paint the wheel. They would always say they would call me and only did once after I called them and they said they'd get back to me. When I get there they claim they can't even put the tire on for me unless I want another charge. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If you have any complaint on the quality of their work the owner will yell and curse at you. They do not honor their guarantee. They will do the bare minimum to repair and paint your wheel. If you have nice wheels to repair/paint and care about them, do not go here because they don't care about their work or reputation. They did a horrible job taping off a part of the wheel that wasn't getting paint and the black paint they put on that spot is turning white. Also I had a black valve stem going in and a silver valve stem coming out. Does not match my black wheel. And they lost my valve stem cap and replaced it with a cheap plastic one... read more

Can't recommend. Had four wheels balanced and rims checked. Charged $150.00 per wheel, for a total of $600. (Original Quote was $125.00 per wheel, i.e., if rims need to be straightened). Also, please note the following: (1) I had wheels check previously at a tire shop, and that is why I brought it to Wheel Repair Specialist in Peabody. Though Wheel Repair Specialist charged me for all "FOUR" wheels straightening, one of the wheels gave the same road force readings as did the tire shop, does this mean that they did or did not straightened wheel? I noted no marks on the inside of the wheel that would evidence any work was done, and it is in the same specs as when I brought it, I simply don't know, as the tech said he did?; (2) Price given not price charged, as stated above, original quote was $125 for wheel, if both rim repair and balancing was needed, and though they charged me $150.00 per wheel, for a total of $600.00. Please note: "...Before beginning any work, a repair shop must give you a written estimate listing the specific repairs to be made. The estimate must list the specific parts, labor, and cost of the repairs, unless the charges are posted where they may readily be seen. This written estimate must be signed by you. 940 CMR 5.05 (3) ... NO WRITTEN ESTIMATE WAS GIVEN (3) Long time turnaround, I had to wait considerable time, almost month to have them finish all tires. (Not a big deal for me as was summer car and we were still in winter) From my observations, this shop does corporate work for surrounding dealerships, which appear to be there main business client, and the individual customer appears to be secondary (and probably charged a lot more), as when I had spoken with them regarding timeline, they would always reference that they had work to get out for dealerships which appeared to be the priority over my job; (4) When picked up, wheels were filthy, additional grease and crap all over. You would think for $600.00 they could at least wipe it with a shop towel; And then the Kicker, regardless of issues noted, I decided all is good and simply would go elsewhere if every needed such type of service again. As I only drive the car in the summer months, I took it to car wash last week, and while cleaning wheels and tires, noted that one of the valve stem was chrome, opposed to the other three which were black. I went back to Wheel Repair Specialist and told them that I just spent $600.00, and noted that the valve stems are different, one be chrome. The Tech then stated to me, "... that they don't change valve stems... ". Are they serious? Don't you heat up the wheel when straightening rims, they do work to a wheel, charge premium amounts, take off the tire, work on rim with hammer, torch, and other tools, put wheel back on, road force balance, and don't even change the valve stem. WOW!!! My opinion but I would not go again to them. read more

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. CROOKS. Had to file a small claim...they steal your lug caps and wheel logos. Brought my car twice for repair after bending the wheels on the bad potholes (soft VW wheels). First time they called when i was in the shop and said "oh by the way the dealer forgot to replace the lug nut caps". Assuming nothing amiss of course, I brought to the dealer and they replaced them. Brought car back a few months later for another repair, was in a rush when I picked it up and noticed a few days later the caps and center logo was missing. Brought the car back, they claimed they didn't have them, and that someone "may have stolen them" hahah..after attempts for them to replace (costs like $100) i have sent two demand letters and filed a small claim. They have a little side business where they steal this stuff and most people probably won't go through the trouble to hold them accountable. DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE. read more
