The lady was very nice that works the register/front desk but the Jeremy was quite an ass....He had to first tell me that he needed a spot to place a car and I corrected him that there was one. Then he told me that he didn't have any techs free to work on my car. I'm like yea because they were are in the back BS'ING around. I seen a couple eating pizza in the work area and just walking around. Right. What made my day a little bit better was that it was a guy that had on all black that was behind the register. Was very nice and professional as I came to pay for my service and the lady that help me at first but in between my visit was not the best. First impression are long lasting in my book. So I'll be going to Firestone closer to my home since they are affiliated with them. No more appointments at this wheel works for me. I've been to other locations before and never had a problem. Took my car in to this location for a break inspection and they said I need some maintenance as well as a new a/c belt. I wasn't going to be able to pick my vehicle up before closing so I told them I'd pick it up next day. When I return for my car it's parked next to the sidewalk and the driver side window is down. When I get to my car things are shuffles around and a bunch of small items are missing from my vehicle. Whoever worked on my car left the window open and someone went through it over night. The work was only $180 but instead of not charging me they asked me to itemize what was missing and being honest I only came up with about $80worth of missing stuff. Then when I pull out I hear screeching coming from my car and immediately take it back. They had to mess with it again which was another inconvenience. Had a great experience at Wheel Works San Leandro today. My car was making noises and needed the battery to be changed. I thought I would end up paying a lot to get it fixed but actually left paying only $35. Adam provided me with an outstanding service, he inspected my car and took the time to show me what was going on and explain what I could do to improve my car's performances. I always end up getting discounts when I bring my car to this Wheel Works, the people working there are always helpful and welcoming. I am on a tight budget and I cannot function without my car so this location really works for me where I get great quality service AND reasonable prices whenever I bring my car in. I really tried to support this place. First story, my wife brought her truck here to get a wheel alignment, but when she got the truck back, she said it didn't feel right. She brought it to these guys because of the price and she had also purchased some new tires, their tire price was better than FH Daily which had fixed something else on my wife's truck, but Daily's wheel alignment was higher. Regardless she felt it didn't drive correctly, so I took it back on Saturday morning with her concerns. They took a look at it and said nothing was wrong and it was adjusted to specs, but they would readjust it anyway (if it was already adjusted then what could you possibly had done?). The printout showed different specs than the first one that was given to us. She felt it still didn't drive right, but it would have been a waste of time and money going to the dealer, one way or the other. My own experience, I used one of their oil change coupons and so many points expectation and tire rotation. I can say the tires were rotated because the dirty brake dust wheels were now in the back. The oil was changed as well. I received a call that my car was ready, but as they went thru the inspection, they noticed that the master cylinder had shavings in it and that they could fix the problem for 300 some odd dollars. I told him that was OK and put my truck back together. But before I got off the phone, I asked them how was my brakes, the guy seemed shocked when I asked and then said your brakes are fine. So I picked up my vehicle. Needless to say my brakes didn't feel right and another 1000 or so miles my brakes were gone which I then had to replace everything except the master cylinder that supposedly had shavings in it, but of course these shavings were nowhere to be found. My truck went in making a loud squealing noise. I thought maybe my belt needed replacing, they never made a comment about it and when I picked up the truck, it was squealing even louder. Found out later, my pulleys were wearing. These guys were nice and they seem to have your best interests at heart, but salesmen are what they truly are and you are preyed upon for not knowing. Clientele is built on honesty, but unfortunately the chain type service companies take advantage of the unknowing. You depend on the so-call expert to do the right thing and get your money in spurts and through referrals, not all at one time. The best I can tell you, if you have a FORD product, give Jack and Mostly Mustang a call, I believe you will be satisfied and give you the sense of security. The "low tire pressure" symbol lit up on my dashboard at 4:20 p.m. the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. I walked around the car and looked at the tires, but none showed a nail or looked badly deflated. Since I was parked at Floresta and Washington, I headed to Big O Tires on Lewelling and Washington, where I usually have my tires repaired or replaced. Unfortunately, I discovered that it closes at 3:30 on Saturdays. I backtracked to Quality Tune Up at 1693 Washington Avenue, where I have had headlights refinished, oil changed, tuneups done, etc., and arrived at about 4:40, just ahead of the 5:00 closing time. I parked in front of the open garage doors, through which I could see three mechanics, and went into the office next to the garage. No one was there. No one came over to ask what I needed. No one even said hello or "Sorry; we're about to close and can't take on any new jobs right now." I was very disappointed because the garage used to be run by a Caucasian gentleman with white hair and mustache who always provided prompt, friendly service and practical advice. It was clear I wasn't going to get any help there, so I drove to the Big O Tires on Marina and Washington, where the garage and office were both open. The man in the office apologetically told me they had in fact closed and couldn't help because the pressurized air had been turned off. He recommended I try Wheel Works at 1050 Marina Boulevard, which was open until 6:00. I thanked him and headed to my fourth repair shop. What a different reception compared to Quality Tune Up! As soon as I had parked and started walking toward the office, the manager immediately left the garage to meet me there. I explained the problem. He asked me to pull up to where the air hoses could reach, and by the time I had moved the car, a young man named Joel was there holding a combination air pressure gauge and pressurized air hose. He checked all four tires, found them a little low, and inflated them to normal limits. The manager wasn't going to charge me anything, so I handed Joel $5 with sincere thanks. I had a brief further discussion with the manager about buying a replacement set of tires from his shop once the set that came with my car wore down. He told me that the original tires were excellent and specific to hybrid cars, and he doubted he'd be able to get the same ones. I much appreciated his professionalism and honesty and will certainly try Wheel Works first for any services they might be able to provide in the future. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. Took my beautiful '05 BMW 3-Series Convertible here. Dropped it off at 9am before work for a simple oil change, then headed to work. Called nearly every two hours to see if it was done; it wasn't done until nearly 4pm. When I arrived my convertible top was half open and STUCK in that position. These "mechanics" probably took my car for a joy ride and BROKE the convertible. When I asked why the top was open they said they accidentally hit the button; to get the top in that position you literally have to HOLD the button down for more than 10 seconds. Ridiculous. Never take your car here, they are not to be trusted. Only good think out of my visit was the relive that corporate Firestone who now owns wheel works paid the bill to fix it; probably only because there was no excuse to be messing with the top. Worst experience EVER! And I'm a very very cautious car guy. BEWARE. read more

My front left tire on my car was flat. So I came in to get it patched. Dropped off my car around 1:30 pm and they had told me to come back in a few hours, like 4 or so or they would call me. They were not taking any cars after 7 pm. So a couple hours pass by and it's 6:00 pm, I call in and they told me 20 minutes. I arrive 30 minutes after and I pull up and my car still hasn't been seen bc it's still flat ! How disappointing! I then proceeded to ask when it would be done. They then took my car after another 10 minutes. 30 minutes pass and the gentlemen comes out telling me that I have a nail in my tire and that I would need to get 4 all new tires because my tread was low and so low it couldn't be patched. I told them to fill up the tire and I would take it to my dads friends shop. My dad's friend told me there was NO NAIL. They were trying to get me to buy new tires on the spot and made it seem like my car wouldn't make it home. read more

I've been going here for years. Long time customer, I've had 4 different cars serviced here and bought several sets of tires, oil changes, balancing, brakes, ect. Came in last month to get a oil change and requested Full Synthetic and ended up get the wrong oil. I ended up getting bad oil leaks. My inspection report they gave show no prior leaks. The leak ended up causing damage to my alternator. I call them they acknowledge a mistake was made but didn't want to pay for repairs. Just wanted to give a free oil change. I was reluctant to go to this store because they had one review and it was bad. but it was just one and it sounded like the person had a bad day. well they were very nice and friendly. they got the tires on and every thing worked out. one of things i asked them to do was replace one lug nut stud on the front. easy ah. well they called me and told me there was more to it than just pulling the old stud out and pressing in a new one. something about having to redo the barings and pressing off and back on the disk brake. and that it would cost me more. so i told them not to do it. well i got the car home and within 20 minutes i had replaced the stud on my one with no pressing of anything. not sure what they were looking at but hay my tires are new and roll just fine. read more

I made an appt to replace the tires on my Toyota. I arranged to have someone follow me to the shop and drive me home. When I arrived I was told they have the tires but the alignment could not be done because the machine is down and might be fixed this coming week. That should have been mentioned when I made the appt. I drove to the San Lorenzo store. They had the alignment rack operating but had ONE TIRE to fit my car. You would think that these two shops(2miles apart) would shake hands and make this all happen, but no. Americas Tire has the tires in stock and is offering a $70 rebate. I had my four tires for my van replaced here. I also had oil change at the same time. The staff here are way more efficient and pleasant than Costco. The prices here are actually very good. The job was done on time. So far the tires are working very well. This is a much better place for replacing tires than Costco. Just bought a new vehicle and needed new rims and tires, I called this place up and spoke to Ray. I gave him the specifications I wanted and asked him if he can call me back right away so I can decide (between them, the internet or America's Tire Company). Well, to cut a long story short, Ray's promptness and precise explanation made the decision easy. We had a very nice experience with their employees, also knowing that this establishment is trust worthy (aside from making us fresh coffee, we over-heard Ray trying to help this "old lady" explaining to her that the problem with one of her front tires can be repaired and that she did NOT need to spend the money to buy a new one. But since she insisted on getting a new one anyway, Ray went ahead and did what she wanted... It's moments like this that customers should know that there are still honest, good people out there. I have taken my car to the Wheel Works on Hesperian in San Lorenzo, the manager's name is Robert and they are the most honest car repair place I have ever taken my car. They also had the lowest prices, even lower than other wheel works. I have brought my car in to ask about breaks, they checked them and said no they were still good, they had plenty of pad left. He could have said they needed new brakes but he didn't. I took my car in because it slid when it rained. I was told they weren't the best tires for the rain, but they were still good, there was enough tread on the tire. I told him I wanted to replace them the tires had slid twice on me. He said if you want to replace them for a tire that is better in the rain he could do that but suggested that I would really only need to replace the front two. The tires on the car would be fine in the back. read more

I was referred to this wheel work shop by a friend and I had an awesome experience. Great and friendly people. Adam worked on my car that I had new tires installed. He went above and beyond inspecting the suspension and found that one of my control arms was cracked and needed to be replaced. They preordered it for me that day and had it installed next day! Now that's awesome service!!! He even took his time and showed me the old control arms and explained what I thought was my abs brakes kicking in. Little did I know it was actually my control arm that was causing the small shaking. Now that's 6 star service. If you need your car done I would suggest this place! Here writing this review for wheel works at marina, great and awesome guys here. I highly recommend Jeremy who works there. Very knowledgeable and respectful. I had a flat tire on my car after work had gotten stuck almost getting home, I had a hassle between tow truck company's to come out and tow me to wheel works I called and Jeremy was the one to answer right away to explain what I can do. I then asked if I can come drop it off it might be a few minutes after 6 that's when they close I asked Jeremy if he could stay a couple mins over and he said yes. Wow what a life saver for me. My car is my baby I am very happy with the service and customer service here. Not only do I use there service but the company I work for also brings there trucks here. I would give them a negative score but even that would be too high. I dropped my 04 galant off on a Monday because the Battery was going out on car. I get a call a few hours later saying that I needed a new battery along with some other work( tune up, and a few other things) I told Roberto to go ahead and do it thinking it was regular maintenance. I pick the car up and the total was $825.00 which is a lot of money. They next day driving to my step sons baseball practice, My car stops. I am thinking what the hell, I just paid $825 why is this not working. I have it towed back to wheel works from Richmond and go another day without my car after being told it was the timing belt that broke. I am thinking shouldn't you have told be that when you did the vehicle check the day before, so Roberto tells me its has nothing to do with the work they did the day before and I would need to pay another $200. Ok, I need my car so do it. So next day comes around and I get a call around 3pm stated that I now need a whole engine rebuild or some valves broke and they cant do anything for me any more. WOW, so go have my car towed back to my house and they want me to pay for the timing belt that they said was broke and would fix my car and I clearly told them that was not happening. Keep in mind my car worked fine before I brought it here Monday. I feel like they should have reimbursed me the $825 that I put on my credit card and something else for the inconvenience. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR CAR!!!! I WILL NEVER BRING ANOTHER CAR TO WHEEL WORKS AND WILL BE CONTACTING A LAWYER BECAUSE PAYING FOR WORK AND MY CAR NOW NEEDS A NEW ENGINE AND WORK FINE BEFORE I BROUGHT IT HERE IS JUST NOT OK!!!! read more
