(The last time I was in Rahway?  A college field trip to the prison for a class 'History of Punishment' - but that's a blog post sometime in the future over on Medium.) Yelp tipped me off about this place so right before Christmas I ventured down to snag their novelty 'Pierogi Soap on a Rope' (stocking stuffers for the Polish in-laws!) and of course I couldn't leave without at least trying a few of their actual edible items. "Polish Happy Meal" (great name geared towards us Americans, huh?) - killer.  A hearty (sliced) link of kielbasa with three (delicious) pierogi with little containers of horseradish & shredded beets (along with a slice of rye bread) and a side (of course we went with their [homemade] pickles). The Mrs. (from Gdańsk and snooty about her Polish grub) was deliriously giddy with her meal and deemed it, "5 stars!" - who am I to argue?! "Apple Pie-rogi" (I'm definitely digging their marketing department!) - although they recommend to fry in butter (the only way the Poles believe a pierogi can be cooked!) I opted to just bake them without any added fat (much to the chagrin of the Mrs.) but it was still a perfectly delicious morsel. The joint is wheelie small (sorry, I couldn't help myself) - just a tiny window to "grab 'n go" from the workers. Crew behind the sliding glass window - very cool. Pricing - more than fair for the portion size. You bet your dupa I highly recommend this place. read more

I ordered through GrubHub on Friday 7/12 and Sunday 7/14 when Wheelie Good Pierogies was shown to be open. In both cases, my order had to be cancelled because the shop was not open. I was so disappointed because I read the reviews and they're great. I love pierogies. So bummed. I wonder if they're closed for good? read more

While spending all day cleaning my room I decided to reward all my hard work with some pierogis. I ordered the Bacon potato and Cheddar Cheese pierogis and the Blueberry and Cheese Pierogis. The bacon potato and cheddar ones were good, cooked well, however I thought they were mediocre, could've used a good sauce they were a bit dry. Howeverrrr, the blueberry and cheese ones were sooooo good! The sweet cheese with the blueberry was the most perfect combination that I've never seen before with a pierogi. After the first taste, I began racing on 287 from Basking Ridge trying to make it down in time to get my fix. The owner is very kind and knowledgeable, as well as the staff. A lot of thought goes into the flavors. These are the absolute best pierogis I have tasted. So far I have tried the sweet cheese (by the dozen), potato & cheese, buffalo chicken and the limited edition Thanksgiving pierogi. This place makes really good pierogis. With that said, there are a few downsides thst prevent me from eating there more often: 1) They have odd hours and you can't get lunch every day. 2) There is no seating. It's takeout only, which really sucks in the winter. 3) They only deliver if you have Grubhub, so forget trying to order for an office if you work nearby. From the delicious homemade Pierogis- to the ranch drizzle and garnished chives, this place is heavenly! Both the pierogi and kielbasa are immaculate, it's not over nor under cooked. The size portion is fair and the price is very affordable. Staff was friendly, and quick to answer the phone, tender the order and check me out. I ordered the polish happy meal with chicken, bacon & ranch pierogis- it came with a side of sour cream, spicy mustard, rye bread & beet salad. It was fulfilling and more than satisfying. The food tastes so fresh and authentic, there's no doubt in my mind the dough is freshly rolled out. It's location however is tricky. It's tucked between two buildings- so you must pay attention, it's easy to miss. Once you get there it'll be easy to find for the second time. They're open 3 days a week- which is fine! Recently we ordered a few dozen pierogies and polish sausage for my boyfriend's birthday party and it was a huge hit! Well worth the cost and probably some of the best pierogies I've ever had! The kielbasa had so much flavor and the stuffed cabbage is some of the best I have ever had. My wife and I tried it all. The Buffalo chicken was delicious but I had to say my favorite (maybe because I have a sweet tooth)was a tie between the Nutella and cornbread. I just couldn't decide both cooked to perfection. We saw this cute little pierogi place in downtown Rahway and on a random Thursday night decided to take some out for a treat. We got spinach & feta, mushroom, potato & cheese and blueberry. I was blown away by just how fresh all of the pierogis were. The blueberry especially were absolutely out of this world. Classic potato and cheese was exactly how an authentic Polish pierogi should taste. I called just as they were closing. The most extremely pleasant and nice girl that answered took my order anyway. When I arrived I was greeted with much happiness. I ordered 3 each of 4 different kinds. Potato and cheese, potato and onion , roasted garlic and potato and bacon cheese and potato. My daughter and I enjoyed them very much. Whoa, this place is the real deal... The traditional pierogi are truly authentic (I'm Polish so you can trust what I say), as is the stuffed cabbage which is quite possibly the best I've had (second best in case grandma is reading this...) I usually stick to the traditional flavors, but I have to say that the specialty pierogi I've tried here are excellent... especially the breakfast flavor. Imagine a killer Jersey breakfast stuffed into a pocket of fried dough. Yeah, they are that good. I'll be back to try some of the other flavors (and the kielbasa sandwich) very soon. Tried this place on a whim and I'm hooked now. I've had the kielbasa sandwich, the Buffalo chicken perogie and the blueberry and cheese perogie and everything I had was delicious. The buffalo chicken wasn't too overpowering or spicy like some places can be and the blue cheese was good quality. My boyfriend has had the bacon, cheese potato perogies and the roasted garlic and (for once) agreed that it was great. Was so delighted to find this little shop after my 20 mi trail race in the area! It was the perfect refueling I needed. I split an order of 6 and did 3 potato-onion and 3 potato roasted garlic. Tried WGP since we were in the area and I love pierogi. We decided on a few types , bacon cheddar were excellent , Buffalo chicken not to be missed , potato and cheese excellent as well, mushroom needed a bit more seasoning .
