Have been to Wheelies Cafe numbers of times over the past years, so when I picked up a friend, I suggested the establishment for lunch. We attended and entered. Good atmosphere and funky. The experience went downhill from there. My friend sat at a seat in the middle of the restaurant, and I ordered food and attended the washroom. When I returned he had moved, saying a music speaker was right above him and he knew conversation would be difficult. We soldiered on in our new seating but it was still hard to hear conversation. I attended the young staff person at the counter and suggested perhaps slightly lowered volume. Her singular response. "No!" Single word response. I suggested perhaps the manager might assist but that led to an indication he would refuse........ Oh yes, the brisket sandwich was of mediocre quality and value. Never again will I recommend nor will I attend. Pity. read more

Saw all the delicious breakfasts posted on their front page and stopped in to sample one only to learn that the great breakfasts are only on the weekend. All they had available when I was there was sandwiches, which is not what I wanted. I left. PUT IT ON YOUR WEBPAGE!! The small crew will make you feel at home in their easy going eatery. Big respect for keeping a vegan soup year round, gluten free options, and a local coffee on brew... as well as local beer brews, ha! Stoked they've opened up the clothing shop side of things. This place is unique as where it is located. Located in the industrial area of Victoria you can find this gem. I've only ever been here for a delicious brunch - a hash served on a skillet! We had heard wonders about the ice cream sandwich so we had to give that a try right after breakfast. It was delicious! We checked out this place based on Yelp reviews and were not disappointed. Went early for lunch and were the first customers in. Order at the counter and they bring to your table. The server said their pork sandwich was the popular item and going with his recommendation did not disappoint. Slightly spicy, outstanding bread and delicious pork. And we tried their ice cream dessert -- also outstanding. This is in a real working motorcycle shop and it shows in decor. Tried here for the first time and I am blown away. The menu is simple and well executed. I had the pork sandwich which was the best thing I've had in weeks. Been wanting to stop I'm for a long time and finally today was the day. The atmosphere/decor is great. So much to look at. You order at the bar and they bring you the food and drink. Service at the bar was good. I ordered a chicken sandwich and it really was good. My friend only had a coffee and he was a little disappointed as it was Discovery coffee which neither if us like much. However certainly going back, just not for any coffee. read more

Don't BOTHER if you're a TOURIST! The waitress was lovely to the locals but, except for pouring our coffee, she ignored us during our entire visit. Since we were sitting at the bar right in front of her, her avoidance of us made for a VERY awkward meal. We tried to talk to her and she acted like she didn't hear us. I can only assume she acted that way because we are Americans? It's a small place, and there's nowhere to go if the only waitress does not want to look at you, so I do not recommend that you waste $25 on two breakfast sandwiches and coffee if you're from out of town. And certainly don't expect any refills, creamer, napkins, or utensils. They're around but...ya' know....that's not her job to get 'em.... read more

What a place! i happened to be in the neighbourhood and checked Yelp. Directed me here. Great place with an over-abundance of character. I was surprised at how many motorcycles were there. (insider tip - not many dual sport bikes or high vis vests here). Looks like they had every thing a guy could want - good coffee/espresso, beer, good sandwiches and what looked like awesome Mac and Cheese (sadly I didn't try it). Awesome food, have had both the chicken and pork sandwich and loved them both times. They either ran out or stopped serving chicken last time, so I was happy I loved the pork, but my girlfriend only eats chicken, so please keep the chicken sandwich!! Really nice atmosphere, something different and not what you would expect from the outside. It is great to see all the custom motorcycles and parts etc. I have not yet put my bike on the road, but will be a nice stop. Hidden gem. Feels like stepping into an old motorcycle movie and stopping on the highway for some great food, beer and coffee. Old bikes being worked on and memorabilia that makes you feel nostalgic for a simpler time. Tried the caesar and t was great! read more

I wanted to stop by Wheelies during our Victoria vacation because I thought my parents would get a kick out of it. I had read that the food was good, but honestly, I wasn't expecting much. Let me tell you...I was wrong. The sandwiches were amazing. Two of us got the pork sandwiches and two of us got the veg sandwiches. Given that my brother is a vegan, I really appreciate that their veg sandwich is vegan as-is...no modifications needed. The pork sandwich was similar to a Bahn Mi and if you've ever had Num Pang, you'll see that there's a similar flavor profile going on here. My dad also got the Mac n' Cheese (weirdly none of the rest of us like Mac n' cheese so it's always special for him when he gets to eat it) and said it was some of the best he had ever had. The cook and waitress were super friendly and the playlist was awesome. You don't often get to hear Wooden Shjips while enjoying one of the best sandwiches of your life. read more
