My husband's review of Wheels America (WA): "I was looking for a full size rim for our Nissan D21 pickup spare tire to match the OEM rims on the truck. Online research lead to Wheels America. They had exactly one rim of the size and part # I needed and it was for a reasonable price, so I ordered it on the spot. While waiting on the rim I did a little more research for customer reviews. What I read was pretty awful and put knots in my stomach. But come what may, I made my choice and paid my money. Caveat Emptor. That being said, my rim arrived eight days later and it was exactly what I ordered, and in excellent condition. I was both very relieved and impressed with the condition of the rim. Maybe I got lucky with my purchase, who knows. But Wheels America came through for me. I give them a solid 4 stars. They don't get a full 5 stars because I received absolutely no purchase confirmation or shipping emails from them. All I got was an alert the day my CC had been charge for the rim then the rim just magically appeared at my door eight days later. I called WA several times but the phone was never answered, so yeah, I was sweating it out and trying to decide if I should dispute the charge. Anyhow, all's well now. Be very wary of doing business with this company. I bought reconditioned wheels and sent my old wheels back via their pre-printed labels for core charge. They received the wheels but have never paid me. Have repeatedly given me the runaround, "checking with accounting." I think this is part of their business strategy. Uneven paint. The wheel clearly wasn't cleaned properly before painting. Overall very poor quality for the $400 it cost me for the wheel.

They need quality control measures! Apparently the inept paint techs there are unable to grade their own work. There is no reason why a customer has to point out OBVIOUS flaws in wheels they painted! Very careless jobs done on 2 rim painting projects. Project 1, which cost a $130 to have 1 wheel painted to match the other 3 which was a botch! The paint clearly didnt match the other wheels. Are they painting the dark over there?! Project 2: I paid $303 to have them paint all 4 rims satin black.  Ended up with GLOSS black wheels. Fine, I can deal with that! I go tk pick them up and 1 of the wheels was poorly painted. It had debris in the paint that was clearly obvious. Really? Tech didnt notice this? No other measure to inspect the job? I took the 3 and had them strip and repaint the mishap flawed rim. I'll be surprised if it matches the other 3. What a inconvenience! And they offered NO cesession of any kind. The quality control at this business is awful. Wheels are large pieces of trash. Ordered a silver wheel and received a hyper silver wheel that was poorly painted. Spoke to Ramon Carmona told him they sent me the wrong wheel. He insisted that I had to send pictures before we could discuss problem. I told him the rim was wrong and if it was the correct rim I would send it back. After two days he sent a return shipping label and assured me that the correct wheel would be sent out as soon as the wrong wheel was picked up by UPS. Sent Ramon an email of proof of drop off receipt. Called and spoke with Gary. He was rude and nosey and after I asked him to check the status of the order he said he couldn't help me Ramon had too. Called five days later and unfortunately had the pleasure of speaking with Gary again. Just as rude and full of excuses. after giving me the run a round once again he informed me that Ramon would have to deal with that again. Bottom line if you can find any one else to buy or fix a rim I wouldn't use this business. read more

They just recently got a new crew. Things are chaotic. It took six days to get our car back. I do have to say the finished product was good, however. If they had done it on time I would've given them three stars. If you can put up with the excuses and delays you will most likely end up with a finished product you're happy with. Have them take a picture of the completed product before pick up or they will let you drive out here for nothing. Don't expect any apologies out of them either! Update, on my way home the car began to shake. I pulled over and the lug-nuts had not been tightened on my wheels. I could remove half of them with my hand! Fortunately nobody was killed including me. I popped into Discount Tire and they re-balanced the unbalanced wheels and put the lug nuts on properly. There comment was when removing the seemingly hand tightened lug nuts was "it is almost like they were trying to kill you!" Again, the wheels looked nice, but the rest of it was an absolute nightmare. Again, no apology or follow up. I'm not asking for anything, but a little courtesy would have been nice. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! These incompetent fools are claiming I'm making this up! Sadly, this is 100% the truth. Keep in mind this is the abbreviated version of the train wreck experience. I took a brand new 2015 factory Cadillac ATS wheel in that had a small scratch/rash on the wheel. No cracks. After taking 7 trips to their place and waiting hours in their fume filled waiting room(when they told me a 4pm pickup time), they finally ruined the wheel beyond repair. I emailed joe(joe@fixrim.com)pictures and asked what the next step was for them to replace my wheel, he refused. I've never dealt with a company with such poor skill and complete dishonesty. First time, they machined the entire face of the wheel with the wrong machine finish(see before and after pictures), and wrong color. Few more attempts at matching the color, still failed. The powdercoat was full of runs and still not a color match. They even refused to mount the tire back on the wheel because they knew their powdercoat wasn't going to hold, and it didn't. Their excuse for not wanting to mount the tire back on the wheel was "We don't have enough air." Right... Dealing with them was a total disaster that wasted me 2weeks of my time and resulted in me having to buy a new wheel on my own. Thanks for absolutely nothing Wheels of America. read more

I called last week about returning my wheels. I was told I would be emailed a return label and to call when the wheels were delivered. I tried calling the 800 # on Thurs Jan 25, at 5pm EST and got no answer just an automated system offering different deals. It never gave me an option to speak with a representative.  Google the number spoke with a sales rep(Steve) that was very rude when asked to speak with someone that could assist me. I had a SIMPLY SUPERB experience with Wheel America (Dallas), SIMPLY SUPERB! From having my order taken, to having postage stickers sent so that I could send my wheels to them via UPS, to the payment process to receiving my wheels, the entire process was SEAMLESS! It took just over a week from my sending my wheels till my receiving them back, nor glitches occurred at all! When I opened the box with my refinished wheels, I was overwhelmed at how well the wheels had been packaged to ensure that they sustained no damage in the transportation process! And, when I saw the refinished wheels, I was flabbergasted...they were GORGEOUS!!! I became concerned about sending my wheels to WHEELS AMERICA after having sent them in because of some online reviews, but, in my honest opinion, I could not have been happier with the finished product, especially with their comprehensive lifetime warranty. There was a local company here in the city where I live that I could have dealt with to refinish my wheels, but their warranty was so much more limited than that of WHEELS AMERICA. Yelp does not allow me to give 0/5 stars so being generous with 1 star. My mechanic sent my wheels to be repaired/painted. Wheels America (WA) mismatched color first time. Waited another day for right color. After the wheels were put on my car, I drove for about 4 miles and my low tire pressure sensor came on. WA did not install the valve stem and sensor on the left driver tire correctly. This caused the rims to rip into my tire/destroyed it. This cost another $300 (tire, plus installation). After paying WA $580 + tax to repair and paint my wheels. Their office assistant is a ding ding (probably smoking pot on job). read more

How are you gonna claim to be a wheel repair shop but can't even repair a simple factory wheel? Terrible customer service. They rank way below postal workers in my book. Decent work on the wheels themselves, so I gave them two stars. The guy who took my wheel in acted as if I were inconveniencing him buy bringing my wheel in to have it worked on. He gave me a sheet to fill out and then just stared at me when I couldn't fill it out because there was no pen on the counter. Like I'm the first person to walk an fill out their form! Then he just walked off and never came back. I had to ask the girl working there if he was coming back. She ended up taking the wheel in for me. We had one wheel that needed repair, was told it would cost $100, and to come pick up the next day. We came back the next day, it had not been touched. We called back after Christmas, it still had not been touched nor could they give a timeline. Now after new year's it is supposedly ready to be picked up. We'll see. I called ahead to confirm that they had it in stock. They confirmed it was. Worst of the Worst! Took in my wheel to repair a small crack on the inner side. They said they would repair the crack and not refinish the would because they were afraid that they wouldn't be to match the color & finish of my wheel. Dropped the wheel off monday morning. Still not done by wednesday. I kept asking whats taking so long. The lady said the production guy is refinishing the face (when that wasn't the part of the plan). So i asked the guy why, he said your wheel caught on fire when we tried to fix it. He said "believe me I'm more mad than you are right now". Are you serious, you guys screwed up my wheels because of your workers incompetence and your going to tell me your more mad because its going to cost you more money? Thursday comes, they said putting on the last coat, should be done in the evening if not friday. Friday comes and not they tell me my wheel hasn't been welding. Today has been just off to a terrible start as I found out from the dealer that I had a cracked wheel. Dealership wanted basically half my bank account for a wheel, so I had to use my Google powers to find a place hopefully that's local that would sell my wheel and boom! found Wheels America. Spoke to a guy named Joe, completely understood the situation I was in and told me he had the good news of having my wheel in stock. It couldn't have been any better customer service. Stay away!!! Wheels America and the people that work there, are sleazy. I should have looked at the other terrible reviews, and saved myself a trip. I called and inquired to see if Wheels America would be interested in purchasing the original factory take offs my Mercedes. The associate I spoke with "Andrew" gathered all the wheel information from me and said he would call me back with an offer. Andrew called back, and stated he was very interested in the wheels, and offered me $544 for the set. I excepted his offer, and as I live about an hour from there Dallas location, we arranged a time for me to deliver them. I was told upon my arrival, someone would help me unload the wheels, and he would get "Scott" to write me a check. When I arrived at the scheduled time, I was told Scott was not there and he was the only one who could write the checks. I was then told I could take a seat, and wait for Scott to come back, but know one could give me any kind of idea how long that could be. I recommend you stay away!! Wheels America is a very shady business and I spoke with a manager at Discount Tire, and he said they hear this all the time about them. read more

In 2014, I had some minor cosmetic damage to my Infiniti M45 alloy rims. My mechanic said he knew someone who could fix it, and sent the wheel out for repair. A year or so later, what I have is a wheel with all of the surface cracked and peeling, and some 30% of the wheel now totally black. I asked an insurance adjuster at Craig's Collision Center in Bedford, Texas, to look at it and tell me what it would take to repair it. He showed me that the wheel had been stripped, then spray-painted silver, then clear-coated. The clear coat is totally cracking, and the paint is peeling off rapidly. After learning the work was done by Wheels America, I called to discuss this with their manager. When I used the term "spray-painted," the manager at the store became irate and verbally abusive, declaring it was not paint, it was plastic (yes, a spray-on plastic paint.) Further more, he stated his work is not guaranteed. When I pointed out that the result of his work was to take a minor cosmetic issue and turn it into a major defect, he got even more verbally abusive, and demanded to know why I thought, a year after the fact, I could demand he be responsible for his work. I informed him I was not asking him to do anything more than realize that his work was shoddy, whether it was his fault, or one of his people cutting corners. He became more verbally abusive, and finally declared that I was one of those low class people who "get their oil changed at WalMart." Research I have done since then indicates the rims have a "Hypersilver" finish, which is rather difficult to repair. If he could not handle the job, he had no business further damaging my wheel. Had this manager been a professional, listened to my complaint, and assured me he would look into it, it would have ended right there. As it is, in my opinion, he has no business representing Wheels America, and Wheels America would be money ahead to terminate his franchise. read more

I bought two wheels, and one of them had a defect in the finish. However, the company's Internal Sales Manager responded very quickly to email, and sent a replacement immediately upon confirmation of my return. Considering that I received a defective wheel and ended up with the extra hassle of email, packing and returning the defective wheel, it is hard to assign five stars to this experience. However, the refurbished wheels look great and will save you about $500 on a set of four, compared to the cost of new wheels. I also appreciate the responsiveness of the Internal Sales Manager. read more

They don't even try!!!! Took 2 wheels in that where bent from pot hole damage. The lady at the front said yes we can fix them. so I left them. 24hrs later I go back to pick up the first one they tell me we put it on our machine and it wobbles so we can't repair it. REALLY!!!!!! it's bent don't you think it's going to wobble. After this I take a second wheel in for curb rash and pot hole damage from the same car think well I won't have to buy 2 wheels. I go back the next morning they say come look at you wheel he put it on the machine he shows me it wobbles. REALLY!!!!!! its bent don't you think it's going to wobble. I brought you the wheels to be repaired!!!! At this point I'm skeptical so I call another wheel repair shop in Dallas took them the wheels and they were able to fix the curb rash and repair the pot hole damage for half the price of what wheels America had quoted. If you don't want to take the time to repair the damage to the wheel just say that you do wheel refinishing don't state and show pictures of wheels on your site that are all mangled that you have fixed and mine have minimal damage and they are unable to be fixed. Horrible company. They picked up my wheels for 2 day repair and it took 2 weeks. The manager is rude and their is lack of communication with in the company. When i would cal to ask for a update some one always had to ask the manager what was going on their communication issue is so bad that no one understood what i wanted them to do. I recommend you find a different wheel repair/refinishing shop. First attempt at refinishing my wheels was a fail, I insisted on a re-do which they were a bit reluctant to agree to do. Second attempt was better. Only for two of them. They agreed to re-do the other two again. Two months later, they finally told me they were ready. Two months. No they weren't. Lied to me, telling me they had, The defects in the finish are as unique as a fingerprint and the defects in the so called refinished wheels were exactly the same as they were originally. Then they insisted that "That's just the way they always turn out due to the process.". Really? Then why were the other two wheels just darn near perfect without those defects?!?! They also told me "Don't worry about it, once I have a valve stem installed no one will ever be able to see it (the big ugly defect in the finish)". Just for "fun", I put one in. Bullsh*t!! It definitely shows! I do believe any and all of the other negative reviews others have posted. Those who posted good results, I'm real happy for them,seriously. I am the parts manager at a Nissan dealership in Oklahoma. I sent in a 24" wheel with a small bend in the inside of the wheel causing a shake in the vehicle. sent the wheel to wheels America in Dallas. a week later I had still had no news on the wheel. After finally calling to see what was going on they explained they had moved and everything was a nightmare at the moment and couldn't even find my wheel. I completely understand this situation as we had just moved a year ago into a new building overnight and was ok with this causing it to take a little longer than expected. But then I had to go take a picture of what my wheel looked like so they could find my wheel to even fix the thing. Then they said they was shipping It out and I would see it in a couple days, a week later I had still not seen my wheel so I called again and got more excuses. When I finally got the wheel back after longer than 2 weeks the wheel came back worse than when it was sent in this place is a joke and they charged us $120.00 to fix it plus I had to ship it to them which was additional cost. I wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy to get anything fixed the way they sent my wheel back wouldn't even seal the bead and it wasn't re-polished or recoated. Worst place I have ever dealt with as a wheel repair shop I will go back to using the one I deal with in OKC, Oklahoma and just be a little more patient with wait time because it still would've already been done by now. read more
