We've been here a few times over the years. Atmosphere is good, nice spot on the beach. Servers are always friendly. However, went here today (Sunday afternoon) with our 4 kids, it wasn't busy. We were seated quickly and ordered as soon as we had the opportunity. We received our side salads, maybe 25 minutes after being seated, then after an hour and seeing people received their food who arrived after us, we were done waiting. My husband informed the waitress (she was nice, it obviously wasn't her fault) that we'd just like to leave. So they charged us for our side salads (that were supposed to be part of the meals we never received) and left. Won't be going back. Wouldn't recommend for families that actually want to feed their kids, if you're just going there to drink probably not a problem ‍ read more

I have been here many times before and it only got worse. We already know that the wait is long so when we came here we expected it. We like to come because the views and direct access to the lake so it's perfect for kids! However the nice waitress with the tattoos on her face I wish her the best and hope she can find new job. Long story short we sat waited about 15 mins for drinks to order waited another 15-20 to get them. Then placed our food and another drink order and waited another 20 mins for another round. Then we waited over 2+ hours from that point for food. We got there at 6~ and food wasn't out till 8:15. The food was cold, missing items, dry, and not even all out. We tried talking to the owner he said i don't have time for this your tab is covered not even trying to help. So as we are still waiting for food I walk in side they don't see me standing there the waitress comes out with a tray off food she tells the owner this is the rest of that tables food the owner is cussing and mumbled things about us the waitress looks at me dead in the eyes and was like OMG I am so sorry. At that point I was so upset. The waitress got us to go boxes to be honest we didn't even want the food but we packed it to not waste it and we left. I left her a $20 tip because I felt so bad. We didn't even eat dinner because by the time we left around 8:30~ everything was closing. Moral of the story the place has SO much potential. The food is almost decent, the workers need to be better treated, more staff and a better outlook from the owner. After him using profanity in front of us and the way we were directly treated by him we will not be going back there. Worst experience I've ever had a at a restaurant, 2 hour wait from the time we ordered our food to the time it showed up, when the food got there it wasn't even a quarter of what we ordered and it was cold. 15-20 min wait for drink refills. Tried to talked to the owner about it and he said "I don't f-ing care". We were here for my wife's birthday. I've never seen such disrespectful behavior from restaurant staff in my life. Was hesitant to try this place after reading the reviews. Glad we ended up here. Had the ribs and brisket. Both were very good. Nice smoke ring in both, along with being tender. The ribs came right off the bone and had nice flavor. The brisket tasted great. Was juicy and tender. The BBQ sauce was very good. The sides are very generous. The cowboy caviar was . Friend had same as me a said he loved everything. Wives had wraps. They were big and very good. Only complaints are cornbread and service. Cornbread was very dry and crumbled into crumbs. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, my bacon Bloody Mary was nice and spicy, loved it. We enjoyed the corn fritters for an appetizer, and my father enjoyed his fried fish. The pulled pork was terrible, the coleslaw was not great (cabbage and sour cream?), corn bread didn't even look like yesterdays. Was offered a replacement meat after I didn't eat the pork, and chose the kielbasa link. I was hoping for a smoked link. The sausage was sliced, spiced, and seared on a flat top. I did not want to believe the reviews...but they were true. Ribs were sooooo overdone that the bones had partially disintegrated... you couldn't avoid eating bone when you took a bite. Fries were not fresh at all... kind of like the frozen kind you throw into the oven. Cornbread was decent. It's such a shame. You could really do something with that place because of its location if you just had the right cook with a good menu. Hopefully they will learn. Server was great. The food was awful. It's like boiled or soaked meats that are flash smoked/seared and then have seasoning added. Being from Texas it's actually a little hurtful and amusing that someone would add our state name to their restaurant when you can't even smell bbq walking up to it. The scenery is nice outside and you can walk to their rocky beach(wear shoes not sandals). Went here with my brother and his girlfriend. The food was disgusting! We ordered bbq nachos and shredded pork tacos. The tacos came out very very greasy with a very oily taste . Oil dripped everywhere. Why so oily ? Is it grease from the pork or what ? We didn't have a clue . Both myself and my brother could not finish it because of how bad it tasted . We didn't even want to take it home . Just took the hit and said never again. The bbq pork nachos was soggy too. Some bites was good others was messy and wet which made the chips soft/wet . No crunch . The ambiance inside was ok nothing special. The outside looks better than the inside . We did like the view of Lake Erie as we were seated by the window looking out . The service was alright, nothing to brag about . Our waitress looked overwhelmed but she was prompt. Only reason I gave them a 2 star . View and waitress was only reason I didn't give them the 1 star. Sad part is this place has so much potential to be a diamond . There's not many restaurants around the area . For my sides, I had the potato salad and baked beans. Oh, and did I mention that this dinner also came with TWO pieces of cornbread and TWO ears of corn? Needless to say, I over ordered what my stomach could handle, but it was worth it! Everything was delicious, though the potato salad was a little disappointing. It was good, but a little bland for my taste. My only regret is that we did not leave room for dessert. (Heck, I couldn't even finish my dinner.) What happened to this place???!!! The service was awful. We just had the craziest experience. (8/22/21) The waitress and staff were in the middle of cleaning up "a real mess" in the men's bathroom!! They were all talking about it across the restaurant in front of all the customers. Discussing whether or not they should be using a shop vac or something else. ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Absolutely disgusting. The manager came over and not only didn't apologize, but blamed the situation on the city and their poor sewage system. He also blamed the lack of local public bathrooms on the current unsanitary conditions of his own restaurant Clueless!! Totally clueless. Let me also say it was impossible to know who was actually cleaning the issue? Was it the cook? Was it the waitresses? Beyond disgusting! The food was awful. My wife had a salad with fries on it (BBQ Chop chop salad).... The fries were dripping grease and the chicken or meat substance that was on it was beyond awful. The waitress was beyond strange. Out of the blue, told my daughter (10) that you don't get sick if you drink Windex. We thought we were getting punk'd. Stay away from this place. Please do not eat here. First time here. We've always wanted to eat here when visiting the area, but haven't had the opportunity. We were in the mood for fish frys. While it was good, it isn't as large a portion as we normally get ANYWHERE else, which was slightly disappointing. Also, we would have loved a lemon wedge or two with our fish. With that said, we loved the fact that we could choose our own 2 sides. Normal with a fish fry you get fried and coleslaw. We chose the handmade fries and a side of the cowboy caviar(baked beans with smoked meat and hotdogs). The baked beans was a gigantic portion and very delicious, as were the fries. They have several sides to choose from. We did takeout. They included several containers of ketchup, tartar sauce and added plasticware which included napkins, salt and pepper. I'll admit, I don't know that we got the full atmosphere from our visit - since we were the only ones in the whole place... but I like what I saw! This place seems like it would be a great time in the peak of summer. Sand volleyball courts, lots of outdoor seating, beach access, and an outdoor bar compliments the indoor bar area and 50-some tables inside. The waiter was super friendly and after serving our drinks told us to feel free to take them to walk down to the beach and check it out. We ordered the friend bacon mac & cheese - diet went out the window, and they were good! That and a side of cornbread was all we could eat since both portions were huge. They have a decent menu with lots to choose from it was hard to decide. The waitress seemed in a rush so we put some appetizers in and had a few questions about the menu which she seemed annoyed with. It was a long time before the apps came out and the restaurant wasn't that busy. When they did come out the nachos were pilled high with toppings and the wings were huge but served with ranch not blue cheese like we are used to in Buffalo. Then we placed our orders and waited again a long time for the meals to come out while other people seemed to be getting their food more quickly. When it came the burger was over cooked and the fries were cold. We didn't have time for dessert, but looked like they had a few options. My second visit to this restaurant and it was better that the last which is hard to believe. Server was so friendly! Food came out fast and hot. Smoked turkey is one of my favorites and my partner had the brisket. The server gladly brought us the spicy bbq sauce which was so good with both meats. Child's portions were large and included drink and hot fudge sundae at the end. Portions for 'Cue for Two were large and we added an extra side. Still took food home for the next day.
