I don't understand why more people aren't giving these guys five stars. Yeah, Which Wich is a chain restaurant. I encourage supporting local businesses. But the food here is fresh and uncomplicated with a decent variety of ingredients to choose from. They offer a variety of breads and I usually go with the non-sub sandwich bread. Also, whether it is or not, it seems healthier to not heat it. But, hey, that's what I grew up with. The traditional 1970's sandwich. The service is usually good here. Been awhile since I had been in a Which Wich. (back visiting Dallas) Wife & I decided to give this one a try. Service was outstanding! Melanie was able to help us through the process of how to order. I thought I remembered how, but left some things out. She quickly assisted us to get the order perfect. Wife didn't want chips, but she recommended fries, WHO CAN TURN DOWN FRIES! I never even knew that was an option. Kaleb stepped up to finish our order, while Melanie began helping others. What a great team of employees. Kaleb got our sandwiches out first, fries came out next. Hot & delicious . These two employees customer service skills will keep me coming back. Now next important thing was food. Our sandwiches were great, fresh taste, perfect to what we wanted. As I said fries were great. I love the perfectly crushed ice from the machine. Lots of choices to drink soooooo ice tea it is. The building was clean, easy choice in seating, nice view of Sandias, plenty of room for a group. Some people added their own art to the walls. It's kind of a fun touch or connection with the place. Parking lot is a little quirky. No way can a RV, large truck, or vehicle with trailer fit, so you will have to figure that out. We highly recommend this place for the reasons above. read more

WHERES THE MEAT??? My first time here and it will be my last. I felt like I was eating a vegetarian wrap! The Gyros meat was as THIN as you could get (paper thin) and I had to open my wrap to see if there was any meat in it! You could barely taste or see any Gyro and that's suppose to be the main ingredient. (See pic) The girl at the counter was very nice. I let the guy who prepares the sandwiches know my feelings about the thin almost missing meat. He was nice but made no effort to correct it and just nodded. I asked and was told that the meat amount and slices were according to their company standards. Which I'd say are unsatisfactory. The place was empty when I went at 3:15. The dining room was clean. The wood chairs are pretty banged up so I guess they've had enough customers to bang them up. The way of ordering is very different w the little brown bags that you write your choices on. You turn it in when you place your order and it's also served up in the same paper bag. My Gyro was NOT WORTH THE MONEY of $10.75 plus tax. Maybe corporate will read this and improve. Been thinking about dining here upon my return to ABQ. Unfortunately, tonight's sandwich was not hitting the Yummos standard. I ordered the $6 Wicked Wednesday special because they were out of the BYO bags. Service was friendly and quick as there were no other patrons. Sadly the shredded lettuce was a limp soggy mess which destroyed the bread. I did notice that produce at the market has not been great so for that I will give Which Wich some grace, but I will not be returning to dine here until the weather gets warmer. read more

One of my favorite if not my top favorite sandwich shops! Their sandwiches are flavorful, well proportioned, and always served "hot", or oven baked. You fill out a sandwich bag with your choice of meat, size, veggies, sauces, seasoning, etc., and then take it to the register where they promptly prepare your sandwich. The staff has always been friendly, never screwed up my order, and do it with a smile. Sidebar: One of the girls that works there is very pretty, soft spoken, and professional. Parking can be a bit of a challenge as there are a few other shops in the area. Access to the parking lot is crowded. The restaurant is clean, orderly, and has plenty of seating with tables and booths. Prices are fairly reasonable. I may be wrong, but I don't think they take cash; cards or digital app purchases. read more

We come here every 2+ weeks or so. I'm never disappointed. My companion has tried many of the extensive offerings and likes most of them. We love the wide selections and the generous portions. I wish the sandwiches weren't so expensive. Like everywhere else, prices have gone up, so it's just a fact of life. The counter person we usually see is a young woman with a short blonde ponytail. We visited Which Wich for the first time in over two years this week. The good news? My husband was stoked that they had French fries, albeit salted to within an inch of their lives. The bad news? Everything else. My husband got a cold chicken sandwich that was oddly bland (and who doesn't heat up chicken?) I got a chef salad because they did away with the gyro option. My salad had one uncut ham slice and one uncut Turkey slice, three tomatoes, three cucumbers and about five olives. And a metric ton of iceberg lettuce of questionable freshness. When Subway does salads better than you, you'd best not be charging $10 for that salad. So sad and disappointing. I got a grilled chicken sandwich from the neighboring Wendy's, which was so much better than the dreck we just finished at Which Wich. I won't be going back. read more

While passing through Albuquerque I was quite pleased to see they had a Which Wich location near our hotel. I love Which Wich because they are toasted sandwiches but unfortunately all the locations near me have since closed down (so sad). Upon entering we received a friendly greeting from the young man behind the counter. We both ordered turkey sandwiches and found the bread and ingredients to be fresh and well flavored. Because it's been awhile since I've been to a Which Wich I forget they have good ice (crushed). That made me do an internal happy dance. My only negative regarding this visit was my sandwich wasn't very well toasted. The meat had some cool spots and the cheese could have been melted more. My daughters was toasted more so I'm not sure what happened with mine. It was still good though and I will admit to eating the whole thing. If I'm ever going through Albuquerque and have a chance to grab a sandwich I will definitely stop by a Which Wich again. read more

I don't usually go to sandwich places. I'm on the keto diet which is pretty much no bread. However I found out in a pinch that this place has salad bowls. Basically think of a sandwich in a bowl without bread. It's nice that you can customize it very easily by adding or subtracting whatever ingredients you want. It's a little bit expensive for what you get but it was fresh and the flavors were very good. I found this place to be a very quick and easy place to eat that allows me to follow my keto diet with a reasonable price and very quick service. read more

Not sure why I've never reviewed this location. We've been enjoying this location for quite some time. We started visiting the new location on Coors, but after several times of them getting our order incorrect and not ordering from WhichWich, we visited this location the other day. Not only did they get everything correct, they brought our food right out to our car. The fries got done first and they brought those out immediately so they'd be hot for me. I asked for a few changes to the sandwich I wanted and they got everything correct. The sandwich was delicious and a nice treat. My husband ordered the gyrowich instead of the Bahn Mi he usually orders. He preferred it in the past when it was served on flat bread, but said it was still good. I got the impression he'd go back to the Bahn Mi next time. This is a favorite of ours and it was nice to visit a location that got everything right. So I have been here before on one other occasion, lunch with the work fam! It was pretty fun, of course maybe that was because I was with them? What can I say, I love them! Tee hee! Okay, so the Which Wich. It was a bit overwhelming to take in the whole menu my first time there. There's a lot to choose from. The nice thing is that they break the menu up into types of sandwiches, or meats if you will. Then there are five different types of sandwiches to choose from within that category. Then you pick the bag and begin working on your sandwich order. Things you want on your sandwich, type of bread, or no bread, garnish, condiments, things like that. There's a lot to do before you make it to the register! I will tell I don't remember exactly what I ordered. I wasn't impressed with it. I think it was the Italian Grinder. oh yes,it was, I remember thinking I would have much rather had the italian sub from dion's...eep! I said it! It's true though! My baaaaad! I wasn't planning on returning to a Which Wich, but the bestie came across this place and seemed to really enjoy it. So much that she wanted to come back, and I joined her on that trip. This was was my first time here. Ray was so sweet explaining what my choices were for my free 7" bday sub. I got the meatball with green chile, lettuce and onions on wheat. The bread was toasted nicely. The meatballs were tasty. And to wash it down I got a milkshake. They're on sale for $2.50 for national ice cream day today. The vanilla is really good. Nice employees. I'll take Which Wich over Subway any day. I love this location more than the one on Central for a variety of reasons. It's larger, cleaner, and has more parking. They've re-vamped their menu since I last visited a couple years ago, and it seems they've gotten rid of some of my favorite options. I used to frequently order their Hawaiian, with ham and pineapple, but I no longer see it available. It seems they've also changed their house-made chips, as they're no longer hand-packaged in paper baggies, but manufactured in the typical plastic chip bag. I still liked their peppery seasoning. This time, I ordered the Ultimate BLT with green chile, and was not disappointed. I wasn't able to customize it on the bag (change the bread, hollow it out, add other toppings, etc), but it was still good; warm, crunchy bread, generous amount of crispy bacon, and buttery avocado. The green chile was spicy and yummy. On July 4th, they offered active duty military and veterans a 'free regular wich' which was actually -$6.00 your sandwich order. Seeing as we had a sandwich off the Faves list, it was a little pricier than $6.00, so it wasn't exactly free, but heavily discounted. Still great! Love their deals and coupons through the Vibe Club. Sandwich shops aren't anything revolutionary, but there's a huge difference between a gourmet sandwich and a sandwich you get with your school lunch. And that's why when I'm craving a really great sandwich that I can customize to my liking, I always end up at Which Wich. It can be intimidating to the naked eye as you graze over the menu and try to figure out how to order (pick the bag number that you want and start filling in what toppings you want in your sandwich), but that's the beauty of it. You're able to pick a sandwich that already sounds amazing by itself, then add in all your favorite veggies and dressings to it! My go-to is "The Wicked" which is a sandwich on steroids after I'm done with it. You get five meats and your pick of three cheeses with whatever add-ins you want. I get creative with it and I don't think I've ever had two sandwiches alike, however they've always been amazing! Great food, great service. Continuing on my quest for birthday freebies, I signed up for their "Vibe club" about a month early and got a free drink for signing up (which I didn't use until I got my birthday reward) and got a free sandwich for my birthday. I saved $8.32. It works like an electronic punch card and your id is your phone number which you tell the cashier after you place your order. So if you have never been here before, you look at the menu, grab a corresponding paper bag and check the options you want with a red Sharpie pen (they have plenty available) onto the bag. Then you hand that to the cashier, and wait for your order to be called. If you want to find the tip jar; it is pretty camouflaged on the counter because they are both stainless steel...make a point of saying "I am putting a tip in here for you" (so that you avoid the George Costanza moment). I had the 7" surf (krab with a "k") and turf (roast beef) on whole wheat with red onions, black olive, tomato, spinach, jalapeno, light mayo and black pepper. I accidentally checked salt, crossed it out and wrote "no" next to it on the bag...and they got it right. It was very tasty. About half way through, I was thinking I was still going to be hungry after I was done; but by the time I got done, it was the perfect amount, but I tend to eat light these days. The krab was shredded finely and had no dressing other than what I indicated on the bag and that was pretty sparing so it was nice and not overly heavy. My wife had the 7" vegetarian black bean patty lettuce wrapped. I don't know all of her toppings, but also opted for no cheese. I tried it and it was okay, but I wasn't jealous because I was in the mood for meat. If I was in a veggie mood, perhaps I would have been diggin' on it more. She was hungry again in a couple of hours, so it didn't appear to be very filling. My wife had said she tried the Wicked sandwich on her first visit and it was too much sandwich, so I guess she went the other way this time. This time, after she entered her lettuce wrap into her calorie tracker app on her smart phone; she said it had a lot fewer calories than was listed on the menu board because she got it lettuce wrapped and without cheese. Overall, it was a good experience The tables were clean, the bathrooms were clean, the parking was adequate, the employees were friendly, the service was pretty quick and they have free WIFI that is easy to access without knowing the code of the day. I've started to come here often. I really enjoy the tuna sandwich, but the real reason I come here is for the chocolate brownies. It's like a moist delicious chocolate cake! Parents brought my wife and I here while on vacation. I have heard good things from several different people, in different states about which wich, but haven't had the chance to try it myself. When you go in there's a wall of brown paper bags which you write/mark. You choose your base, then can customize it all down to the sauce, cheese, bread and condiments. I got the Cuban, hotwich, classic style with the house chips. The sandwich was amazing, full of flavor and served pretty quickly. The house chips were also very good. On a side note I loved the crushed ice they had in the soda machine. This may sound weird but this style of crushed ice brought my back to my childhood at the skating rink down in South Florida. I would definitely recommend which wich to anyone looking for a great sandwich place with a seemingly endless selection of different options. 5 stars. read more

I absolutely LOVE me some Which Wich. I'm not sure why, exactly. It could be the variety of options, the fact that I get to mark up my own sandwich wrapper, the mysterious and ever changing bag #8 (R&D), I dunno. But I love it. I like that WW has a variety of options for your sandwich. You can get the size you want, but you can also lettuce wrap it, go for it in a bowl, or even have them scoop out the bread (Skinny Wich). I'm not always a bread guy, so I especially like the Skinny Wich. Needless to say, my enthusiasm for WW makes their frequent buyer card a deal I regularly cash in on. I am re rating and upgrading to 5 stars!!!!! Sandwich heaven is located at this corner. What a concept...have pretty much everything you could hope to put on a sandwich and let the guest build it from there. The ease of.the ordering is wonderful. And the best thing about it is that almost all additions are included in the original price of the sandwich. A few exceptions being double meat, double cheese and avocado. I got a toasted beef cheese steak with horseradish and some other necessities. My girls got a grilled cheese and a chicken sandwich of some sort that was delicious. I was too busy stuffing my face to ask what she ordered. We sat outside at one of a few patio tables. Enjoyed the umbrella blocking the sun and the nice breeze. The service was wonderful. And I say this because it is so easy to go to a place that has counter service and be greeted with a teenager who doesn't care. This is far from how this location operates. Continuing with my theme of giving 1 stars to fast food restaurants which ask for tips.... Please avoid this place. I've actually been a fan since I lived in Austin, and have been meaning to come to this location now for months. I was excited to finally try it, I order, get to the front, and notice a tip line on the receipt. Utterly ridiculous. Here's the thing - I come from a service industry background, and appreciate both good service and tipping where appropriate. Fast food restaurants that ask for tips are simply asking you - the customer - to subsidize the cost of their business by not paying their staff a fair wage. I'm not sure if this is a Which Wich corporate policy or a policy of this store. If corporate, I apologize for the poor review of a locally owned business. If this is a local decision, shame on you. So, business owner, here's a tutorial on tipping: If your staff are providing service that could vary based on staff decisions, or if tipping is traditional, then a tip line is appropriate. If, however, excellence is simply expected, tipping is wildly out of line. As an example, housekeepers should never be tipped unless they provide a service that is different from average cleaning. Think about it - is "half clean" appropriate? Would you tip someone for actually fully cleaning your toilet, as opposed to only a partial clean? If your housekeeping staff, though, removes your baby's dirty diapers thrice daily, a tip may be in order. The staff here are nice. Service was fast. The place was clean. But, here's the essential question: Is any of this above any beyond? Do you expect, owner, for your staff to provide mediocre service with a flat affect in a moderately clean restaurant, then expect me to be impressed that when your place is clean, then tip? Finally, you're asking me to provide a tip BEFORE you provide an service. Even if you thought your staff deserved to be tipped, how can I know that before the service is provided? Leave a tip jar on the counter where people can come up afterward. Long review, apologies, but customers need to stop standing up to this nonsense.
